He goes slow, and makes difficult concepts easy. Highly recommended. he hands out a study guide before each section, so you just mark things off as he lectures. No surprises. Very good class, decent lecturer.

I've taken Dr. Hearne Spring 2004 for Psychology 100. He is an excellent professor, gives you a study guide for the test. Professor Hearne's lecture is very interesting. His class can be easy if you read the book and study for the test.

He is an excellent teacher. Its impossible to flunk his class because he explains everything more than once. I highly recommend his class.

If you fail Hearne's class you should just stop attending college. Hearne's class is the easiest class ever. I highly recommend him and any of his classes.

he is really nice and easy teacher. only 4 multiple choices tests (only 25 each)not tricky at all. just study study guide and notes it is easy. his lectures are interesting and he repeat over and over which will be on the test. take him and spend a little time to study before exams. easy!

he was the best. i never got an A in math before but with him stats was so easy i highly recommend him. even w/ no math pre req. he'll still take you. awsome guy

HE TALKS LIKE CARTMAN FROM SOUTHPARK! he's a really nice teacher and knows a lot about psychology. you don't have to go to class, just study the study Qs he gives because they're question for question whats on his exams. only four exams, NO FINAL OR MT'S! easy and interesting..very chill class.

Dr. Hearne is amazing! If you don't think you can pass statistics, youre wrong. He explains everything until he knows you understand it and the tests are open book, open note. Hes just a good guy and he'll give you good advice every once and a while. hes awesome!

so easy...all you need to do is answer all the study guide questions and you'll be set...he puts a question from your notes sometimes but if you listen to what he says..it should be fine...hes pretty nice and funny at times

I love this guy. He makes the subject really interesting. I passed the subject by listening to him. He will give you all the details that you need. He's really cool!

He is the best psycholog yteacher ever! He explains things really good that you don't even need the book because he writes everything on the board. He is really nice and clear most of all and can really get you into the subject. At first i was not interested in psych but after taking his class i decided to take other psych classes with him too.

Took him twice because he is such a good teacher. He is definately easy, but it could also be a part of the fact that he explains the information perfectly and clearly and really does test you on EXACTLY what he says. Do the study guides and you will sail thru!

this guy has a good energy level and makes the class more fun than it should be. if i wasn't transfering out this semester i would have taken more classes with him.

Looking for an easy A for that General Psych class? Take this one. It's so easy that there is no excuse for anything below a B, period. Nearly word-for-word study guides for every test. Just overlook the fact that he's a pro-psychiatry, misguided behaviorist with some semantic confusion, and you'll do fine. (Just don't expect to -learn- very much.)

great class. easy, you CANT go wrong. attendance counts for nothing. the study guides match the exams. no m/t or final. VERY INTERESTING lectures. dont have to worry about your grade so you end up learning a whole lot.

Although I only went to 10% of the class meetings, I still managed to get an A. Extremely easy class. 4 Test - 20% each, 5 page Paper - 20%, No final, and attendence is not important. The key to getting an A in this class is doing the Test Study Sheet he hands out. Find the answers and the test is basically based of those exact questions.

This class was pretty easy. If you come to class and take good notes you will get an "A". His test are open books and notes. I am glad I took this class rather than Bus 120

Wonderful professor! I took his psyc 100 and 171. He teaches very clearly and wants everyone to understand the subject. He'll gladly answer questions. He's a bit strict and does not like to be interrupted so don't sit next to someone you know in class cause he will embarass both of you and give you warnings. He's very friendly and approachable

I LOVED THIS CLASS! He gives out study guides that basically tell you what is on the test. All you need to do is show up and take some good notes. And really, all you need to note is what is asked of on the study guide. I HIGHLY recommend this class.

Very easy. Just make sure you know everything on the study guide which has about 30 questions for each test, and you will ace the test easily. He gives you all the answers in class so pay attention. If you do, you don't even need the book. He gets boring at times and he says "mmkay" a lot. But overall he's a really easy teacher and easy A!

Great guy. Hes got quite a few funny jokes hes picked up over the years. Very interesting to listen to. He tends to repeat himself A LOT, as in word for word. Other than that hes awsome. Easy tests, easy class, and he often lets you late ;)

I took 100 and currently taking 171, all I can say is TAKE HIS CLASS. Amazing energy level, if you fall asleep in his class (like the guy behind me) theres something wrong with you. Everyone always says he is easy, but I never average higher than a B. Good Stuff!

Guy's an easy professor - you don't have to read the book at all if you ask your classmates for the answers for the tests beforehand.

Hands down one of the easiest teachers at Skyline. Great lecturer. Make sure you go to class and TAKE GOOD NOTES! For some important stuff, he will make sure he repeats it so the class knows that it's important. Tests were SO easy. Basically, you just have to do the study guide, memorize, then regurgitate. I recommend taking this class.

Statistics class. I was afraid before entering his class. It's not easy but he explains it in a way that makes it clear. Excellent teacher, I have learned a lot in his class.

Dr. H is clear n repeats himself with a great helpful attitude. Some teachers expect u2 hear everything that comes out of their mouth 1st time. Impossible when you r takin notes n digesting the info @the same time. I had Dr. Hearne for Psyc 100 & Psyc 171, n I recommend him 2the population!!! I had him for night class once a week... He reads off a sheet he types up which comes straight from the book. He hands out a study guide with 40 questions - all answers are in the book, online or in his lecture. You study those 40 questions - - you're golden, no way you won't get a 'C' or better on the test. I heard he's the best for stats!

He was sucha great teacher. If you write notes and buy the book you will be fine. All his tests are open note open book and I passed every single one. I could not pass Algebra to save my life and I took his class in place of that and aced it no problem. You should do yourself a favor and skip the hard algebra classes and just take this class.!!!!

His lectures are from notes with some personal anecdotes. Exams are 25 m/c questions ? most are straight forward; some are tricky or ambiguous. He gives out a study guide of 40 questions, which is a great help IF you do them. Avg grade in 1st exam was D. He lectured class on how to do better; but did not consider that poor grades were due to exam.

He is a great teacher! You don't need a textbook! classes are not mandatory but you should attend bc he's exams are based on these notes. He is really interesting and clear, best teacher at Skyline!

His class is an easy B but hard A. You take 4 MC tests, which you can get an instant B on if you studied his study guides completely, the little extra boost comes from attending his lectures where he'll mention important names and wordings that he puts on the test and not the guide. Also has a 5 page research paper but that's isn't due until finals

lectures are straight from the text book. You are let out early from almost every class. Professor is funny and interesting. Class is fun. he is strict, absolutely no talking. Will give study guide but some questions from textbook so make so sure you know/ read it!

very easy. 4 tests, including the non-cumulative final, and they're all M/C. One research paper, but you're given the entire semester to do it. Don't need the book. Just take notes, and look over the study guide, and BAM, easy A. You do need to TRY, though. Don't slack.

Prof. Hearne has a STRICT no phone policy, which is good. Be respectful in his class (no talking) or he will embarass you in front of everyone. He was clear, answered questions, and didn't care about homework or attendance. If you need Statistics, Psych. 171 is an easy transferable stats class. Highly recommend.

Very easy class, enthusiastic professor who provides study guides for each test. Tests are 100% based on the study guide so just memorize it. He is a stickler about attendance, tardiness, and cell phones and will embarass you in class and send you home! Need textbook for definitions on study guide but not too much to read. I enjoyed his class. He teaches well & is a great lecturer. He cares about his student's present & future success. He's honest, too. Checks attendance every once in awhile. Show up, take notes, do the study guides, & you'll do fine. Gives a makeup test for ALL missed tests toward the end of the semester. Overall a great teacher.

Professor was very nice and understanding. Tests are basically his study guides so just study the study guides ;). Final is the final project which we have all semester to work on. Class is fairly cut and dry so there no excuse not to pass if you put effort.

Professor Hearne is a GREAT professor. He knows his material and he lectures with passion. This class is very straight-forward. Show up to class, take good notes, STUDY, and you'll do fine. (Just don't procrastinate on the final research paper!)

He is a cool guy, sometimes funny. Does a lot of weird hand movements and walks around his table for some weird reason. But he does know his stuff and is very smart. Just come everyday and do the work. Make sure you know the basics and you can beat the high C i got. I messed around and got a low score on tests. Just do the work you will be fine.

This is an easy class if you put forth effort from the very start. I slacked & have a low C. Ironically for a pysch teach he seems standoffish, but you're there for the education not a friend right? Pay attention the lectures & take advantage of the time he gives for studying tests and (1) research paper. You could do a lot better than me.

Highly recommended for PSYC 100 & 105. He gives you study guides for all the exams (usually 3). The final exam is just turning in your ONE paper on the last day of class. His lectures are easy to follow but make sure you attend them all on time!

Psy 170 Stats is easy. Just use study guides, shut off your cell phone, and take notes. You'll pass w/flying colors.

dr. hearn was awesome. the class was lecture and notes and while he recommends reading the book it is never mandatory, there was no need to buy it. study guides for every test, all material is covered in class. NO cell phones, come on time and take notes you will get a good grade. no late work period, extra credit opportunities. he's pretty funny

His class is pretty easy, if math is easy for you this is the best class for you. Homework is not required or due but it helps with the test, his test consist of no more than 10 problems but there are a lot of steps to complete. Its open book and notes so pay attention in class its very useful. His final is a little confusing but its a take home

Just attend class and study according to the study guide and you'll be fine. Got mostly high B's on his test, but if you do the final paper you should be able to get an A. Overall I would recommend him. Though he's a stickler for attendance and cellphones.

I took him for three Psychology Classes, and He was great, he gives out study guides of EXACTLY what will be on the tests. My recommendation is make flashcards from the study cards, easy peasy. Put yoru phone away tho, he will kick you out of class if your continuously chatty or playing with phone (i would know) I would take him AGian and AGAIN.

Dr Hearne is great and the class is very clear, show up take notes and use his study guide. he will answer any question and repeat anything in lecture so you are clear on the material. 4 tests, a few in class assignments and one final paper.

He was great for 100 (easy mult. choice Qs). For experimental (105), he assumes everyone knows psych basics (understandable), so he focuses this class more on statistics and how to conduct experiments for the final 10 page research proposal. Mult. choice Qs (one test had short ans.) STATS CLASS AS PREREQ? NOT REQUIRED. He teaches you some stats.

Professor Hearne is great! I have NEVER done well in a math class and I have aced all his tests (which is the only thing graded for the semester). No cell phones allowed, but he usually keeps us an hour and a half or less of the three hour period. He goes over things multiple times, making it easier to understand, and he's super nice!

Great professor, stats is a perquisite to this course and it helps a whole bunch to have an idea of stats vocabulary before taking the course. His lectures are fun and he usually ends class early depending on how quick we get through the lecture. Simple Rules you need to follow to get an "A" 1. NO, PHONE... Turn it off, keep it on silent, no phone even on your desk. 2. come to class, listen to him lecture. DON'T BE LATE! 3. Test are OPEN NOTES, so that's why you need to be in class. Final exam is take home. 4. extra credit is a paragraph or two of something random. Refer to #2

Would 100% take again. He's overall a pretty relaxed and very straight forward, everything about the class can be found on his syllabus. There is no homework at all so grade is strictly test scores, which isn't so bad because his test are pretty easy w/ his lectures. He wrote the book used so following along if you don't show up to class is easy.

Professor Hearne is the best instructor I've had at Skyline College. I'm not a math person, but honestly, he made Basic Statistics FUN! He explains everything step by step where it's easy to follow along and grasp the material. I highly recommend taking this class if you want to pass Stats. Just make sure you show up to all classes on time!

Math wasn't my strongest subject, but Professor Hearne made the class a lot easier! As long as you show up to class, take notes (the notes you take will definitely be on the test), and pay attention, you should be fine! His final exam is also a take home exam, and don't forget to round to the nearest hundredths.

This stats class was painfully easy. With that said though, Hearne is a great instructor, he explains things very clearly and his tests are really straightforward. I reccomend this class if you're not good at math!

Dr. Hearne is great. Breaks down and explains psychology terms using 1-4 words while still being articulate. Occasionally gives out free E.C. just for attending lecture. No HW, except for one 5 page essay due on the final. There are 4 exams that are multiple choice and only 25 questions. I didn't use the textbook and just took good notes.

First, you cannot use your phone the whole time. Second, very bad handwriting on board. However, he is very easy to follow in class, gives good lecture. NO HW. You have to study to pass the 4 tests still. One paper, 5 pages. But that's all, I did learn a lot taking this class. So, I do recommend him.

Professor Hearne is very passionate and knowledgable about psychology. His test are very straightforward if you study from the study guide and his research paper is manageable if you put in the time and effort to actually do it. He's pretty strict on cell phones and talking in class. Overall, pretty decent professor and shouldn't be hard to pass

He is Amazing. His lectures are really interesting, I learned a lot from going to his class and paying attention to his lectures. As long as you take good notes and study the questions from his study guides, his tests will be really straightforward. The research paper is really manageable as long as you take the time to work on it. Best Professor!

Dr. Hearns is a phenomenal professor. He explains things clearly, gives great real-life examples, is very funny, and is always willing to answer questions/re-explain things. This class really prepared me for my upper division psych classes that i took once i transferred to a four year school. He is a wonderful guy, i highly reccomend.

He has a phd. He likes to grades his test on exact accuracy so be careful. You technically dont need his $75 book you can just go online to learn the formulas there are more quicker an effect formulas to solve his problems then just the way he teaches. Dont be fooled by his PhD but be aware of it since its all he has.

This is my second course with Dr. Hearne and there is a reason for that. No homework ever so attendance is important. Tests are easy if you go to every class which is hard to skip as it was one night. Usually out of class before the three hr time frame as he sticks to teaching and does not ramble. Very approachable, funny and educated!

Sadly there really isn't a point in writing this review since he officially retired Spring 2019, but here we go! Dr. Hearne has a Ph.D. in family and marriage counseling, so he knows his stuff! His lectures are very informative, take good notes, and study his guides for the tests. Research paper due the end of the semester. Enjoy your retirement.
