Leach is a great guy... he's laid-back and loves what he does. If you just want to learn and have a great class experience, Leach is the man. Sure, there are exams, but they're based on your thoughts, not regergitation, which is definately a great thing

if you want to fail philosophy...take anybody else but Leach

If you enjoy class participation, this class is perfect for you. Laid back, great spirit. Interesting and not a lot of work as long as you do most of the reading.

He is a very intresting individual. Fun, entertaining, and smart. Sometimes he goes off into his own world, but in the end his world is a very good one. He's very opinionated, and lets the class know what is going on. His trips down memory lane are cool. He is extremely open to opinions and is very funny. He knows his Philosophy and Logic.

He is a great professor, although he does not give himself enough credit, but he is. Sometimes it would seem like he would go off topic, but if you pay attention it makes sense plus he's so funny! Maybe two exams-midterm and final and no textbook he posts all his readings online.

He is so crazy, lol the material is kinda hard to understand but he clarifys it to his best ability. He is really out there, I think he's from another planet, but he's really fun.

This professor is awesome. he sometimes goes off topic and talks about current events and stuff. his lectures are somewhat makes it interesting. No tests, nor quizzes, just a binder grade, midterm which is really easy and final easy. Its an EAsy B. u dont have to go to class. and he's hot

He is possibly the best proffessor that I have ever had the pleasure of attending class. He makes everything extremely interestion and he is incredibly HOTT! He is an interesting person, as a Proffessor, he is great. His teaching methods are crazy and on a whim, but he sends his messages and teaches very well.. take his classes!

He is possibly the CRAZIEST! professor I have ever taken in my entire life ! lol ... I got a B in his class. We just had a mid-term and a final and they were both honestly pretty hard but he gave everyone like 20+ point curves so iz all good ... overall take his class !

This teacher was great. Very understanding. Does not judge you. My guess is that it is better to take him in the summer. only two grades. the midterm paper which is not even an essay right before final and the final which was multiple choice. He has alot of great things to share and makes you laugh alot. Cancels classes and will pass you for sure.

i was in suspense all summer. thought i was going to fail this class yet the curve was notorious.

He's very nice and interesting. He takes attendance every time. The class is really pointless but you cant fail it. I would recommend him just cause he does give extra credit and he's a sweet guy.

Leach is a sweet guy, a bit too sweet. He has great intentions, but he is so absentminded you probably won't get much out of the class unless you're VERY interested and do a lot of work outside of it. Easy A, but if you want a truly challenging Philosophy class, go for Pearson or Buckman. =/

He is a cool guy... super chill. I took Critical Thinking I learned from it however I was confuse at first later on I got the hang of it. He helps you out a lot with grades. You can tell his a professor who doesn't like to see students fail.

Professor Leach is one of the most awesome,laid back professors ever.He gives extra credit.He will get distracted so let him know and he will get back on track.He is very easy.Always wants to help you.He will make you laugh.You will get something out of his class.

Cool guy. The class was interesting, I think its because he made it that way. There was plenty of opportunities for extra credit, so an A or B would be quite feasible.

the tests are kinda hard, but he gives like up to 20 points on each one.. his lectures can get annoying.. i got an A, but u have to read.. its interesting, but sometimes the lectures would go wayyy off topic, i recommend him though.. he's really nice!

Took him for easter thought. Class hasnt ended but i know i A's it. We have only had to assignments super easy and we are having a final test but that one is just about reviewing things his gone over. he also has one project due which he is helping us create. He doesnt believe in grades so dont ask him for it. but as long as you show up u pass

He gets off topic a LOT! But otherwise, you'll learn a lot from him. Not just about Philosophy (I'm taking Eastern Thought), but about life itself. How to think about life, too. Only a couple of classes have been slow, otherwise we are always debating in his class, talking about everything because he encourages different viewpoints! I reccommend.

Crazy professor,but he will make class very easy and interesting! Take him for eastern thought if you can. There were days when we meditated before begining class if that gives you a clue of how his class is. He got me interested in Philosophy. :)

Well at first I though this class wasnt going to involve any work but we got our first project/assgm. by the end of October. His class was pretty easy although Im going to barely take his final tomorrow so I will know how hard this final that everyone is saying. Knows his stuff but can't get off topic alot. We did meditate and yoga which was cool

The whole semester was completely unproductive and seemingly an easy A, but then at the end of the class he gave NO review or guidelines for the insanely difficult final, but then gave a 20 point curve since everyone failed. DO HIS PROJECTS, and I think you'll be alright.

If you want an easy Phil class, take him. You do barley any work but he does require the textbooks. He does get off topic and you do meditate before every class. You might learn only a couple things in the class.

Easy teacher! He barely covers work and usually go off topic talking about random things... i had a lot of fun in class and the couple of topics he would cover would be very simply... Awesome individual and you would not regret if you take him!!!

I really enjoyed going to class even though I felt lost most of the time. Dr. Leach is really nice and funny, our class was a reduced class so he decided to cancel class every Friday which was great! :) I would definitely recommend him!

Great professor! Not much work. Very smart guy. It amazes me on how much this guy knows. We mostly concentrated on Plato's Republic. We had discussions on blackboard and a final.

Super sweet professor, He always goes off topic in class and you can see that he really tries to make things interesting. Wont have to buy books! and the topics you go over aren't that hard, and he really takes time to make sure that everybody gets what is going on. Really Great Professor!

Dr. Leach tends to get way off topic most of the time. His tests are hard but what do you expect, Philosophy is a hard course. Do the work and read and you will be fine. Even though I did not do well on the midterm and final, I was still able to pass. He gives you alot of extra credit work in order to pass.

Definitely an interesting professor! He's more of a go with the flow teacher as he doesn't actually prepare a lesson plan for class. I had him for Asian Philosophy and he made the class very fun! He brought us to yoga classes, brought speakers in (even a tae kwon do teacher to teach us some moves), and starts class with meditation!

Dr. Leach is a cool guy, great personality. You should take his Critical Thinking class you won't regret it. 4 unit exams, no final, no comprehensive. That is it for the semester! He teaches well and is always there for help.

Mr. Leach was a great professor! His Philosophy class was super easy and he was super sweet! Just 3 group presentations, and 2 Essay Blogs over films he would show every week. Super understanding and super helpful, he's always there for his students and he really loves what he does.

Took his Intro to Asian Philosophy class. I loved it. Interesting topics. Hes the nicest professor I have met on campus. Occasionally, you do need to do assignments/modules, which are easy. As long as you do the assignments/quizzes/exams, you should get an A. He does give extra credit if you ask, but you shouldnt need it.

I was failing with an F in a logic class before this one, but with the power of Leach I got an A. Leach can do extraordinary things with his lectures. He is very smart and a very kind man. Highly recommend.

I took his Phil1301 class online this summer and was honestly such a relief to have him as a professor. He is very interesting and is extremely lenient with grading and due dates.

He is so kind and sweet! He also does meditations at the beginning of class sometimes! Best professor ever! Hes understanding ! I love that he wants to hear his students thoughts! He really gets your mind working and is really open about different perspectives! Take him you wont regret it!

Professor Leach class is very refreshing, engaging and fun. Class is based on the socratic method, and he truly just wants his students to learn and understand philosophy in any way they can. His lectures are very interesting as he connects it to modern day culture. Truly a gem

Leach is a very nice professor, and does not want to give failing grades. The "class teaches itself" thing others say is true though - a lot of his in class activities are "read this passage, then talk with class", though I really enjoyed those activities. He is a bit of a friendly dinosaur with tech though. If you can, take him in person.

Dr. Leach is a very nice professor. Most of his assignments consists of reading and discussing with the class. His class isn't difficult and he is very understanding with his students.

Dr Leach is a very caring, understanding man who creates a safe environment for everyone to participate. I took him for Asian philosophy and feel like I learned a lot. He's very lenient t about assignment due dates, and if you have any questions for him, he gets back to you fairly quickly. I had a great time and would recommend!

I took Professor Leach for Intro to Logic online but should have taken him in person. He is a very caring man and wants to make sure you understand the material before continuing. He replies fast to emails and is available during office hours in person or via Zoom. I would def take him again.

Professor Leach makes this class really engaging despite the dry subject matter. He's passionate and approachable, though can get sidetracked sometimes. Use Unstuckstudy, the free textbook, and study sessions to stay on top of things. Highly recommend taking this class with him!
