Professor M is a very knowledgeable person. The class seems to be easy but you really need to read in order to understand the material and participate in class. Class can be a bit boring at times because Professor M likes to talk nonstop, but very interesting things. This class totally changed my mind about Not for profit organizations.

I liked his laid back personality which made the class more comfortable (keeping it simple)... Also like the fact that he was not critical (was welcoming) when looking for responses to general questions. This allowed the class to not be scared of saying the wrong answer allowing more overall class participation which resulted in better learning.

Stephen Mersereau's Accounting class was great. I knew a little about bookkeepingaccounting foundamentals, but he helped make everything click together.

Great professor. He gives a few exams, complete the homework and read and you should be fine. (His exams are based off of HW questions and the WileyPlus Handbook.)

Mersereau is a great guy! However you must show up to class with questions or problems from the hw otherwise he'll never go over it. He's very straight forward and always there to help. There is hw every week online through Wiley. Must have a textbook if you wanna pass his class since you'll need it to do the homework and learn most of the material

I had Prof. Mersereau for Intermediate Acct I for spring semester and he is one of the best teachers I've had. He knows a lot of about accounting and has stories to back up the material we learn in class. That made it fun and I actually wanted to go to class because of that. Professor Mersereau is a fantastic accounting professor. It's such a breath of fresh air to have a professor with a vast array of real world experiences, to go along with his technical proficiency. Something I rarely encountered in my MBA studies was a teacher who could engage in real world discussions while also tying back to the textbook.

You will enjoy professor's class if you do your pre-class reading, do your home work seriously. He is great at setting the context for accounting with real world examples. He is not so great at walking through problems step by step. If you are somebody that needs spoon feeding, he is not the right professor for you.

He has a lot of great business experience, and lots of great stories about his work in startups. He also scheduled extra one-on-one meetings with his students, which were really helpful.

He is caring and dedicated to the development of his students, offering support in and out of the classroom. He taught a lot from experience, however you must read and take in everything the textbook has to offer, because 90% of all test material is based from the textbook. He was frank with us, and treated us like adults. Highly recommended.

The Merse filled in for another professor who got hospitalized. He doesn't even teach intro to business, but was able to effectively prep us for the exams, and teach us the ins and outs of what it'd mean to own a business. I also learned how to effectively deal with hecklers. Because we had those. Seriously though who heckles a professor?

Class time is filled with lecture, hardly uses the board. Lecture is about 10-20 minutes relevant technical material, the rest is random (but interesting) real world stories/experiences. Tests were take-homes and based on chapter readings. Expect to read and teach yourself the material. However, professor is invested in topic, approachable, funny.

Prof Mersereau is amazing. Government and nonprofit accounting is dry and pretty difficult, but he brings it to life. Uses vast experience to relate it to real world issues. I was freaked by special project requirement but he helped me through. Very encouraging and supportive. Highly recommend for any subject he's willing to teach.

This is my favorite professor at NCC. He is respectful but isn't afraid to discuss compicated subjects. He draws you into the discussion and makes you think. I learned more in his class than I ever expected. Smart, funny and awesome.

The Prof is a veteran, a CPA, a Harvard MBA, an entrepreneur, worked at nonprofits, etc etc. Knows his stuff. Super interesting lectures relating the course to real world issues. Engages the class in discussions -- he's respectful but challenging, and really made me think. Loved it.

Professor Stephen did a fantastic job of connecting the theories of immediate Accounting 201 with application-based practice. The special Project about analyzing companies' financial position, in particular, help me understand the theories a lot more. He gives great advice about interview Interview tips and how to go about it and resources to help.

Inter Acct 2. Weekly HW, take-home tests, & a final project. Do all the HW & you'll have no problem on the tests. The final project is the only real difficulty; pick a company with many articles on it. Really cares about students. During the COVID epidemic he was the only teacher who always sent emails about resources and updates on the situation.

I am taking Prof Mersereau for Intermediate ll online. They are zoom type classes and are mostly lecture. He does an excellent job going over the text book material and in many cases applying the concepts to the real world, the job market and how this will effect the future. What you put into it is what you get out of it.

His support and understanding helped me through this semester while I dealt with personal difficulties. The class itself requires a good amount of time and effort, but you come out of it with a great deal of knowledge about running a business.

Professor Mersereau was friendly and very chill which made me feel comfortable in class and get out of my comfort zone when sharing my opinions/thoughts. I highly recommend taking his class. Mr. Mersereau from my experience has been a very good teacher. I had him Fall 2024 OB, there is little homework but participating in class topics is critical, be prepared to attend every class unless there is a legit reason you cannot be there. The tests are open-note and relate to the class discussions. I would def take his class again
