Very difficult course and higher than average workload... professor does not seem considerate of students and makes them feel stupid.
COOLEST PROF EVER.....very passionate about Restorative Justice...this is an admirable assest..... every prof should feel this way about the subject matter they teach.
Has changed the course alot to help the student and reall does care how they do. The topics are dry but he works with what he has.
He does whatever he can to help us and gives great reviews before the tests. He trys to make class interesting and i would definately recomend him to future students.

class was boring, but interesting at times.. not too bad of a workload
nice guy, not the best prof. his lectures weren't really lectures. he really liked power point. very long 50 minutes.

Good proff,
Smart and patient prof. He's helped me alot. Bonus, he's very cute too.
not a hard marker and very nice. he wants his students to do well. sometimes his classes are boring and a lot of note taking.
Class was interesting. I'm actually sad to see the course over.
He gives his students every chance to do well in his class. A very nice guy, and quite helpful. A lot of notes however
Looks like Mr. Bean. Unclear and boring, but very nice. The class was insanely easy and I didn't learn a single thing.
Pidwysocky is awesome :)
I not only thought this prof was great but aslo the course! I thought he did a wonderful job of introducing new teaching methods and topics!!
peaceman
This course was extremely easy but also very boring. A good piece of advice to other Crim majors is to take this course during the summer. Guaranteed a high B to an A+. Very approachable and also very friendly.
I don't know about you, but I had to work to get my B+. Yes, there is a lot of reading, but I survived and so will others.
He is very ambiguous in his directions. He changes his mind too often. The lectures are not overly stimulating. Nice guy, but didn't enjoy his class that much. Does not review well.
He is very nice and helpful. Lots of note taking!! The exams seem really hard until you get your exam back and realize what an easy marker he is. Boring (it is theory) but worth it for a good mark.
Stephen is awesome! He is one of the best profs at STU. He is funny, engaging and charming (yes, i have a bit of a crush). He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the material that he teaches and truly cares about his students. I highly recommend taking his classes.
very interesting, nice prof and and person.. down to earth.. cares..
Stephen's teaching is terrific and he is a really nice man, what a great gift it was to have him as a professor
He is the most caring Prof I had to date. He preaches what he teaches! Excellent Professor
What an interesting course. Just loved it. He made it very interesting. Couldnt ask for anything more. Awesome Prof!!!!!
He is a very approachable prof. I can clearly see he loves teaching. He's very funny and very caring. The best prof I've had ever.
A tremendous person and thus a tremendous prof. Everyone should take the opportunity to sit in his class... it is a honor and priviledge to do so! He is an excellent example of what anybody in a teaching career should be like.
He obviously wants everyone to do well but he repeats himself too much for my liking. He gets facts wrong and just little things that are annoying. He is a nice guy though, and a fair prof.
I had no interest in Criminology before I took Stephen's class, and now I'm minoring in it. He's an amazing prof, really interesting, and an extremely nice person. He's a fairly decent marker with the essay and the exam, and if you need any help he'll help you with whatever you need help with.
Stephen is amazing. He is really passionate about what he is teaching and really cares about his students. It's rare to find a professor like him. He is a decent marker and does not expect the world from you, or anything unrealistic. I would highly recommend taking a class with him.
Great prof! So caring and really practices what he preaches. Found his class extremely interesting. Just such a nice man, and his wife comes to class all the time and is HILARIOUS( also a crim prof). He actually made me choose to major in Crim. recommend him for sure!
Him and his wife are my favourite profs ! He cares about his students and ensures that everyone understands the concepts. I was worried about the theory class because i thought it would be brutal but he makes it easy to understand and i ended up really enjoying the class! Fairly easy marker and provides questions that appear on the exams. Love him!
He is very nice, and well educated, but not the best teacher. He repeats himself a lot, and wastes a lot of class time. His lectures are dry, even for someone very interested in Criminology. Does not allow electronic devices, or for people to miss class. I was not a fan of his Intro to Crim course, and would prefer to not have him in the future.
Easy marks, nice guy who knows what he's doing.
Really nice guy and interesting class, but be prepared to be treated like youre in highschool. He threatens to separate people who are talking, no laptops no cell phones and he gets mad if you have to leave early
Very good prof... He really enjoys teaching and really cares about how his students do... Make sure to attend class, his notes are important for the test.
Good prof, passionate about what he teaches. Makes sure to show up to class because his notes are important for exams. Very nice and funny man.
Great guy, always looking to help his students. Makes classes interesting and personal.
He is very approachable, and makes his class personal and interesting. He uses personal examples to explain course material. He genuinely cares about his students and their well-being. He is a wonderful man and a wonderful prof. He is the perfect prof. to teach Peace Studies.
Stephen is great! He's a nice man and pretty easy to get along with. He makes sure that students know what they need to study and is concerned with their grades.
The class consisted of writing the same set of notes, watching documentaries, listening to a variety of guest speakers and activities like 'trust exercises' and 'talking circles'. Very little time was spent on the textbook, most of the time was spent on sharing your feelings about peace. I would not recommend this class to others.
Stephen is a great prof! He is very approachable and is willing to clarify anything that is confusing. If you are taking his Peace Studies course, don't bother buying the textbook, you wont use it. You write a lot of notes, so you need to know how to pick out the important parts of the powerpoint. Great Prof. Great Class.
This professor is the most understanding guy you will every meet. Constantly changing due dates to meet student needs. Very easy marker. No exam. A lot of virtual components of class (like media news, videos, etc). You can miss some class, but have weekly journals to do so at least need to attend 1/week. Overall loved the class and the professor.
Stephen is the nicest guy I've ever met. He's concerned with your personal wellbeing as well as your scholastic wellbeing and will help you out as much as possible. The only negative thing I have to say is he can be a push over. He changed our due date because people complained that they didn't have enough time (we had the whole year to write it)
He is a great prof. The only assignments are a midterm, a paper, and a final. He doesn't put the slides on Moodle, but you usually have enough time to get the notes down. He explains each slide very well.
I absolutely love this man. He's so kind and caring! Any questions that you may have he is more than happy to answer. I would take any of his classes offered - no matter the department!
easy, don't buy the textbook just take notes in class
Easily one of the sweetest profs I've ever had. Genuinely warm personality and seems to care a lot about students. Willing to help with any questions and make accommodations re: papers. Grades according to midterms, final and research paper, though he does switch it up and use an extra paper in lieu of finals. Don't bother with the textbook though.
Dr Pidwysocky is great, I was having a really hard semester due to health issues and he was really accommodating as well as understanding. I promise his lectures are a little quirky at times but he is very passionate about what he teaches and very knowledgeable as well as helpful when it comes to term paper topics.
Stephen is hilarious. He seems to really know his stuff and is a very fair marker. He is willing to read your papers before you hand them in. He goes off topic a little bit, but it is often very funny. I loved his class and am taking another course with him next year.
Stephen was a great prof! He loves his work and it really shows in class. He's super into the topics he teaches. He is the nicest prof at STU, and is very helpful when needed. He is understanding of his students needs and is willing to work with you if you cannot make a deadline.
Stephen is absolutley the sweetest prof at STU. Contemp Crim theory consisted of a take home midterm and a 20 page paper. Super easy marks if you put even the smallest about of effort in. Don't bother with a textbook and although his lectures are long, he makes them worth it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for GPA booster
Great professor, take anything you can with this man and you will do very well throughout your time at STU.
Stephen Pidwysocky is one of the most caring men I have ever met! He is a great professor and being a first year student, he really made my experience in my first semester a great one! I got an A+ in the class, and if you meet the length and format requirements of the paper, you're guaranteed to get a good grade. I got 100 on both I had for him.
He's awesome, I would definitely take him again. Easy-ish class, essentially pay attention but that's really. Lectures are not posted online so you do have to go to class but it isn't horrible to sit through
Stephen is a sweetheart. Very likable and easy to get a long with. Makes material very easy to understand and he goes over test and exam material multiple times.
Amazing prof, He is an absolute sweetttheart, best prof I have had here at stu. Very understanding could not ask for a better prof :)
His slides are exactly from the textbook so as long as you show up to class and copy them down you don't need to read. Super easy course and he tells you exactly what to expect on the mid-term and final exam.
Dr. Pidwysocky was a very enjoyable prof as he is a fair grader and has interesting lectures. I certainly recommend taking anything you can with him, especially intro to crim as it was very easy yet we educational.
Stephen is an amazing professor. He is passionate about his work and teaching students. He makes class interesting, and he wrote a reference letter that helped me get into grad school. He is a rare find of a prof! Highly recommended
Pidwysocky is a FANTASTIC professor! His class is very engaging and he knows how to break up material so you don't get bored. He gives relevant examples of what he's talking about. I'm taking another class with him next year mostly because he was so great! (I also need the course, so it's great that he teaches it).
My biggest piece of advice for those in his class is that you need to read the textbook. If you only go off of the powerpoints from classes, you will not know enough detail in order to be prepared for the midterm and exam. He is a pretty good professor and a great guy.
The most caring and understanding proff there is. He is very passionate about criminology and is by far the best proff Ive ever had at STU!
Pidwysocky is truly an exceptional character and prof. He's an easy and fair marker as long as you explain your point well. Will give you time to take notes before moving on, unlike most profs and actually seems to care about the well being/learning of his students.
Amazing prof.
Criminal justice with him was an easy A+. All the exams are essay based and if you explain yourself well, he will give you full marks. Lots of interesting films used throughout the class. lots of notes but he makes it very enjoyable.
I love his classes! He's an amazing prof and his classes tend to fill up quickly. He has great slides and great stories. His use to videos and such is a huge help to understanding what we are discussing in class. Nothing but good things to say!
Reading the textbook is an absolute must. I found the midterm/exam questions to be a little bit random, and very specific. He will tell you exactly what to read from the textbook so make sure that you read it! He is a super great guy who really cares, so if you do the readings you will do great.
I loved Dr. Pidwsocky, he's such a great teacher all around. I struggle with getting long essays and confusing questions done and he just makes everything so clear and easy! When I send him emails he answeres in a reasonable amount of time and is so enthusiastic humble and caring! 10/10 would take all of his classes again if I could!
Dr. Pidwysocky is such a caring and amazing prof. He was first described to me as a combination of Mr. Bean and Sheldon Cooper put together, and it's quite accurate. He has a big personality and it makes classes fly by. He's awesome at what he does and is so passionate about what he teaches. I hope to be able to take many more classes with him!
Do you want an easy class, in which the tests and essays are easier than my grandma? Than this class is for you! he great.
Amazing prof, 10/10 took 3 courses with him total and they all went great!
Simply a king
Dr. Pidwysoky is a very kind and caring prof, he always makes lectures interesting and always has students best interests at heart. I would definitely take another class with him.
He is the nicest prof I have ever had. I only had 2-3 tests and 2-3 papers and he is very clear in his criteria and marking. I genuinely loved going to this class and I hope I can take another class with him again!
Pidwysocky is a G I would 100% recommend his class for an easy A
The best prof at STU. Hands down. Love him and the way he marks.
good guy.
Great prof for first and second year. Lectures are super easy to understand and material is not boring. Tells the same stories in every class and wife will bring in their dog occasionally. Pretty understanding of students and an easy marker. His assignments are exams are not hard at all. Widely loved at STU
Amazing first and second year prof. He is an easy marker and understanding to students, will tell you the same stories in every class and wife will bring in their dogs. Lectures are easy to understand and not boring, also very helpful when it comes to questions. Great prof.
absolute sweetheart I love him
Great prof, your grade is made up of 3 writing assignments, but all are easy to do as long as you take notes and read the text. Super nice and gets back quickly with feedback. I definitely recommend his courses
Pidwysocky is the best prof i have ever had in my life. He is just a funny guy and is super likeable. His lectures are interesting, and he takes time to go over his power point slides and relate the material to cases or personal stories. He is a super easy marker. My friend wrote a paper that went fully out of the guidelines and still gave her 100%
An amazing lecturer, he uses real-life examples to explain terms and issues covered in class. 100% recommend to take one of his classes.
Dr. Pidwysocky is a real gem and a great prof. he really cares about his students and is very approachable if you need help.
Pidwysocky makes you adore crim. He super easy-going, so long as you are not disruptive in class, etc. On exams or assignments, include statements made by him in lectures or directly from the textbook, and you will get a great grade.
Pidwysocky is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. He truly cares about his students and strives to make sure everyone does well. His lectures are not especially hard, but this is because he provides you with everything you need to get a good mark in his course. Even if you aren't majoring in crim, take a class with him.
Dr. Pidwysocky is one of the best profs at STU! he cares very much about his students, and is very passionate about his work. his lectures are always a treat to go to, and his assignments are always good and they help students better understand the material. 10/10 would take again
Pidwysocky is genuinely one of the best professors at STU. He is kind, loves his students and loves his job. His class is lecture-heavy heavy so try to have good attendance. His lectures are interesting and informative and he uses videos to further his explanations which keeps the classes from being boring. I will definitely take him again!
Dr. Pidwysocky is an excellent professor who is passionate about the field of criminology. He is a tough grader though.
Love Dr. Pidwysocky. He manages to make 50 minutes of note-taking engaging. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches and is very kind-hearted. Probably my favourite professor. He's a must-have if you're interested in studying Criminology.
Very smart Prof, knows what he is talking about and well educated in the criminal justice field. However, he is somewhat egotistical, as he gets offended when the class is low attendance or if a student is not paying attention.
he's goated
absolutely amazing prof. but struggles to give clear instructions during assignments. difficult to reach outside of class.
Dr. Pidwysocky is the best!! I find he is quite accessible outside of the classroom, your emails just need to be clear and actually have a specific question. His assignments are good, and he usually provides a rubric or grading criteria list. He is among the best profs at STU!!
This man is single-handedly the reason I have a degree
He was such a great prof and showed serious interest and respect for the people and topics he discussed.
Prof. Pidwysocky makes 50 minutes of note-taking engaging. He's passionate about the course material and genuinely cares about students' learning. Unstuck ai was a great study aid alongside the textbook.
Easiest A+ of my life. Pidwysocky is super nice and cares a lot about his field.
Dr. Pidwysocky is such a sweet heart, and is definitely a prof you would want to have whenever you can! By far one of my favourite profs ever, he is truly hilarious, he is passionate about his field, and encourages students whenever he can! You can usually find his textbooks online, and just split it with someone in your class!
Sweet professor but unorganized, scatter and very driven by his opinions. It was hard to follow in class because he talked about what he wanted to talk about not what was supposed to be covered in class. His slides were full, but they didn't make much sense. It was hard to follow what was happening as he gave so much unnecessary information.
Dr. Pidwysocky is so caring and one of my favourite professors at STU. His lectures can be a bit dry, but he tries his best to keep his students engaged, and you can easily tell he's passionate about the topic. He included a few films, which were a nice break from the notes. Put effort in and you'll do great.
Sucks he is so annoying
Dr. Pidwysocky is a very nice person. He ensures that all students are treated fairly and explains complex topics with care and respect. While attendance was mandatory, his lectures were interesting as he frequently spoke about things going on in the world or stories that would align with them. Overall, I highly recommend this prof!
I have had Dr. Pidwysocky two times so far. His slides have a lot of information and he is very passionate about what and why he does what he does. He's very kind in person as well. He's a very easy grader. HOWEVER, the times I have emailed him, he has sent back passive aggressive and/or bluntly rude replies. He would be 5/5 if it wasn't for that.
