Although this class was extremely hard, Stephen ensured everyone in class understood what was going on, & made himself very accessible at his office, giving detailed explanation emails, & even giving us his cell number over break. Best professor I've ever had by far! Had plenty of review classes & review homework. Very cheerful and caring.

tough class but that is probably my own problem as i was never great in math. stephen goes out of his way to help understand concept. he gives a lot of practice questions, and he is always available to help. for this you really have to work on understanding what is going on

This was a tough class. Dr. Rochefort expects us to work hard but he was very fair with his marking. He was much more concerned with us learning things than working for the marks. It was worth the effort but keep in mind the other classes you have in the semester.

I'm shocked he doesn't have more amazing reviews. He is by far the best prof I've had in almost 4 years. There is a lot of content to cover, but he tells you EXACTLY what is on the exam so you know specifically what questions will be asked. Also love his examples of patients he's worked with to help our understanding. Pretty easy marker too.

The course was very reading heavy but, Stephen makes it very digestible. He loves what he does and it shows in how he teaches and talks about psych and personality theory. He also gives a verbal outline of the exams the class before so if you're attending classes and use this to study there's no reason you can't get an A. One of the best profs here

Best prof! He is funny and makes class very interesting and easy to understand. He would help you towards midterms and the final by saying exactly what to expect on exams. Great feedback, a few easy marks when doing online assignments as well. I would definitely take another class with Stephen :)

Dr. Rochefort is by far the best prof I've had at Douglas. I struggle with math, but his ability to explain concepts in stats has made my life significantly easier. This is a tough class; however, that is due to the content/nature of the course rather than the teacher. I would definitely take another class from him!

Dr. Rochefort is one of the best professors that I've had at Douglas College. He truly cares about his students. Even though the concepts can be difficult , he explains everything so clear! I look forward to taking more classes with Stephen as I complete my Psyc degree.

I had Stephen once a week, and noticed he wears intriguing shirts. He makes the lectures easy to understand. He summarizes the textbook chapter in power point slides, makes it much easier. Exams are really fair, if you study you will do fine. His classes are relaxing, making it comfortable to raise your hand and ask questions. Highly recommend him.

This was a great class led by an experienced teacher. Stephen is very knowledgeable in the area of forensics. He has practical experience which he uses to demonstrate theories and concepts. Stephen also cares a lot about his students and their success in the program. I will definitely take more of his classes.

Professor Rochefort's class on forensic psychology is amazing. The professor is very passionate about the field. He talks about very interesting cases he has worked on. It was a challenging course as the professor expects a lot. If you follow his grading rubrics you should be able to get a good grade. He also brought cookies for the students!!

Thought I would hate this class but I needed an intro class. The prof really turned me around. I found the topic interesting and I like how the prof applied all the concepts to real life. It was really cool to learn about how the brain works.

If you are thinking of a forensic psych path, be sure to take Dr. Rocheforts class. Very knowledgeable. Great teacher. Be prepared to work though!

Good teacher. SO MANY SLIDES though. He gives a good idea of what topics will be covered in tests, so you know what areas to focus on.

One of the best profs at douglas. He only graded us on 2 tests and a written assignment. both test were not cumulative which was great. he made the class enjoyable but also understandable, would recommend to anyone

I found this course to have lots and lots of material and information, making it hard to get a deep understanding of the material because there was so much of it. He is a fair grader and outlines the main points to focus on before tests. There was one group presentation, and an enjoyable paper, apart from tests.

Stephen is a great professor who has really interesting and engaging lectures. However, this class is a bit on the tougher side - his exams are pretty difficult. The class consists of 3 exams (non-cumulative, includes m/c, definition Qs, and SA's), one paper, and one group presentation. Overall, Stephen is a great choice! I would take him again.

Dr. Rochefort did a great job this semester considering the situation with COVID-19. There is a lot of material to learn but he is thorough and helps explain with examples. We had a paper, group presentation and final exam for this course.

This was a really awesome course. While there was a lot of different theories and concepts, Dr. Rochefort makes the topics very interesting. Like others have said, he does make you do a lot of work but I found that he was very supportive and very fair in his marking. By far one of the best teachers I have ever taken, I've had him 2-3 times now. It honestly doesn't even matter what course it is, if I see his name then I sign up. Lectures were pre-recorded, but DO WATCH THEM, they break down the chapters so you can understand better. Clear criteria for presentations and papers, super caring too. Read textbook!

Professor Rochefort is amazing! Although this semester was online, his kind and caring personality was conveyed through his lectures and emails. One of the best.

I really thought online classes would suck but Dr. Rochefort changed my mind. He was clear with his requirements of us in class. He provided excellent lectures and online resources. He was always available with quick responses to emails. I really think I learned as much, if not more, by being in Dr. Rochefort's online class.

I highly recommend Dr. Rochefort! His lectures are great and thorough, and he's clear on what he expects you to know. He wants you to succeed! Keep up on the course content, as it continually builds on itself. His quizzes and exams were very fair and congruent with what you should know. The most math knowledge you will need is basic algebra.

Im in third year and I have had a lot of different profs in the psychology department. Dr. Rochefort is one of the best. He cares about students success. He does expect a lot but he works with you to make sure you are successful.

Stephen was a great prof! His lectures explained everything in a very clear manner, and his grading criteria for the paper was spot on. If you follow it, and you put in the hours to study all the concepts, you will Ace the course! It's too bad the course was online, but not his fault.

I really enjoyed how Stephen gave his lectures because he could explain any concept in depth in a way that people in an intro course could understand. You don't really need the textbook if you listen to his lectures. 80% of the grade is based off of test scores, but he lets us know what's on the test so we're prepared for them.

Rochefort was one of the best professors Ive ever had at douglas. He is very caring and was very accommodating to me. His lectures are super interesting and engaging. His exams were easy to study for as he provides what will be covered and removed questions he felt the class werent prepared for. I really hope I can take a class of his again!

I regret taking Psych 1100, but Stephen made it tolerable. He is caring of his students, very knowledgeable and the slides he has hold lots of notes. Psych 1100 is a lot of remembering and sometimes frustrating with some of the exams questions, but if you put in the work you will do well with Stephen!

This is an amazing course! Dr. Rochefort cares about student success. He provides clear direction. He is always available to help. He ensures that we know what is expected of us. His classes are interesting. He provides examples from his practice which makes the topics real.

Professor Rochefort cares about students and it shows. During midterm-season he let us go early, he acknowledged that we have other classes/lives. I managed to do well as I attended every lecture, attendance is not mandatory, but he goes through the PowerPoints and adds more information as he speaks in class. He is very clear grading wise

During lectures, he often related them to his life or to real-world stories which was super helpful in keeping students engaged. Definitely recommend him!

Great professor and gives constructive feedback. He gives a detailed guide on what will be tested and gives all the exact short answer questions on the exam. Annotate notes on what Stephen says, it helped reinforce my knowledge on concepts. Exams are online and open book, but still not easy so still read all the textbook!

Amazing teacher overall, however, I do feel like I wasted my money on buying the textbook. His slides pretty much covered everything that was on the tests as they're based on the textbook. So studying his slides worked out for me. I struggled with the final essay, and asked for his help, he was extremely helpful in guiding me to fix my mistakes

Stephen's lectures were always engaging. His tests are open book and all in a similar format, he also gives you a heads up as to what will be on them. Having the textbook was highly encouraged but his slides have almost all the info the textbook does. His labs were really fun!

Stephen is a very kind, caring, and funny prof+he wears a lot of pretty rad button up. His test aren't too hard, and he'll get rid of questions if a certain percent of people got them wrong. The textbook isn't necessary as most/all of the content is covered in this lectures, but he is right when he says using achieve helps.

Dr. S is great and I wish we could have more classes with him. His classes are interesting and thought provoking. The paper was a lot of fun to conduct a personality assessment of a movie character. Dr. S is also always available for the students.

Professor Rochefort's class this semester was more "experimental," and it's been the most dynamic and interesting psych course I've taken so far at Douglas. There was so much variety in the material and opportunities to achieve marks as long as you engaged in the work while learning new concepts to boot. It was a challenging class, but WORTH IT!

Stephen is the best. He is very knowledgeable, respected, and caring. He actually cares for students to learn. He is open to feedback and actually takes the feedbacks into consideration. He does his best for you to learn and he does a really good job doing so. He grades fairly and helps you get good grades. Definitely take him again!!

Stephen is great instructor. He has a lot knowledge about clinical practice. He is also very passionate about his work and applies this in his teaching. He had very high expectations and requires you to know all the materials from his lectures and textbook. We had to complete a podcast group assignment that was actually a lot of fun.

I have taken a few classes from Stephen. He is a great instructor with so much experience. His is practicing clinical psychologist and he always integrates real practice related materials in his course. The Psychological Assessment course was even more applied. He had us do a number of interesting tasks that practicing psychologists have to do.
