Professor Tootle is there to not only teach you what you need to know to pass the class, but broadens your horizonsperspectives but ONLY if you are open and let him. He uses many real-life (often his own) examples and is passionate about his work, interests and students. That doesn't mean to say that you don't need to work-you will. It's COLLEGE
he is no help. i would NOT recommend him to anyone. arrogant teacher, thinks he knows it all. there is a ton & ton of reading and writing assignments.
If youre someone who is passionate about history, this class is for you. Mr. Tootles lectures are very profound, hilarious and he always gives examples to clarify the material. There are BB chapter tests every week, 1-2 essays and 1 discussion board every month. His lectures dont help much with chap tests, however, they do help your written work.
Well to start off, He looks just like Peter Griffin. His lectures are so long you'll end up falling asleep because he goes off topic so much, you'll end up knowing more of his life than Actual History. If you don't like people cussing then I warn you becauses he cusses a lot. He's Very Cocky and into Himself. Easy tests but hard assignments.
He is not much help. Very rude. He acts like he knows it all. Very rude. I learned more about his life than actual history. Tests are not that hard but the assignments are worth a lot of points
Gives long lectures that are still not very clear. You have to read the text closely to pass the tests; his lectures are not sufficient. Clear political bias, which was frustrating for a history class. Not very helpful when students ask questions.
I don't think he understands that we have more than just his class. I used to love history and now I hate it. He talks down on students a lot, especially when answering clarifying questions about the final paper. Sorry your instructions weren't clear enough??? Also, there's so much reading. There's 4 different text books and you will read them all.
Please do not take this class he throw the work for u to do and lil work for him to explain he expects u to pass his hard quizzes he is just being lazy his quizzes are hard and his lectures and PowerPoint do not help! his power points are the laziest PowerPoint I've have seen in cos take another history class he is not funny and not a good teacher
Not an easy A If you want a teacher who treats you like an adult and challenges you take this class. Tootle is opinionated and obnoxious but never fails to back up his arguments with proof and solid reason. He is clear with what he expects and offers a huge amount of extra credit. The E.C. does require a significant amount of time though. Worth it
I don't know what all these good feedback people have been smoking & imagine taking a history class and reading every little detail of the book with an instructor that talks about his past all day that's what you will get with this guy anything related to what he said about history had nothing to do with his ch quizzes !!!!!!!!
Very terrible teacher. No extra credit is allowed, with the only exception being clubs or volunteering. So if you have a full schedule, you're out of luck for extra credit. Test every week, power point is used but the material is not on the test. If you want to pass, better pay close attention to every word that comes out of his mouth.
Took the class in the summer he is obssesed with other students talking to each other and he enjoys putting students down he reminds me of an evil shreck the class was not an online class yet I spent hours on blackboard because he is lazy and wants to make it easier for himself
Tootle is the snarky version of Peter Griffin. Looks like him, just with different colored hair. Despite his looks, he will help you if you ask questions. If you take the summer version like I did of history 17, expect a test each day. Expect to write notes in lectures that usually take up the entire period. Make sure to read and hope you pass.
Took his summer course so it was fast paced but fairly easy if you just read the book. There was a short multiple choice test for every book chapter through blackboard so as long as you read the book you can't fail. He does assign writing assignments that are straight forward and he gives you all the information in his lectures. Highly recommend!!!
Everyone says his class is super hard but if you put in the work, its not that difficult. There is online test every week but since you're at home you have the textbook in front of you. Just read the text book. Also there is either a discussion or an essay every week. Pay attention during class (although I fell asleep everyday).
Easy tests with only 25 questions, writing assignments that are fairly graded (got an 'A' on all of them), and one book review that wasn't too bad at all. I took the online, four-week course. Lots of reading, but Mr. Tootle did drop discussion board assignments for us. Provides PowerPoints and materials to help you do the assignments.
He really seems to think he has it all figured out and doesn't seem to consider other perspectives. But I guess we're all probably guilty of that. Be prepared for a third parent, he thinks he knows everything and he'll claim that "we kids" are all the same... and he'll tell you why.
Take this class if you're prepared to read about 30-50 pages a week (ch. a week from the textbook, along with a ch. from the two other books you have to read). Three writing assignments throughout the semester, in which he kind of prepares you for, but mainly on your own. For the final you have to turn in a book review and in-class timed essay.
Tootle is a great guy, he is hilarious, and during class when he speaks it may be complete and utter bullspit but at the end of the day he does know his stuff. This class was so easy, I got an A, basically you have quizzes each week online, just look the answers up on google for every question and you will get 100% on each quiz. Thats all.
I liked this professor because he is very clear cut. If you don't do you work you won't pass. You will have writing assignments but he also gives you the exact format that he wants you to use. Pretty easy if you follow instructions.
I took Hist 4, 5, 17, 18, and 25 with Mr. Tootle (got A's in all). Just do what he assigns each week. Take the quizzes and do the discussions and writing assignments. Instructions & feedback are very clear. Pay attention to prompts. I had to write book reviews for 5, 18, and 25. Write down what he SAYS, not what's on the screen. Helpful if you ask.
I like Mr. Tootle even though some people say otherwise. The tests are REALLY easy if you have your book and the writing assignments aren't that difficult either. I find his lectures actually quite informative and interesting and most of the stuff he says just makes sense. He knows his stuff. Class isn't mandatory but definitely recommended.
Tootle was a great teacher! The lectures are so long and it seemed to drag on, but he always broke it up with jokes and side stories, so it wasn't completely unbearable. He doesn't stay on one slide long, so listen to what he says rather than copying the slide. Don't procrastinate on the book review! Don't take him if you get offended easily!
He can get off topic quite a few time. Also do you like to use your laptop for notes or your phone? FORGET IT. He hates that. He will lecture the fundamentals of taking notes by hand if you do and the lecture goes off topic. AGAIN.
He was not really helpful and he went off topic a lot and I mean a lot! I just needed the notes not what he wanted to share about how much he hates Trump instead of finishing the notes which I needed to pass the quizzes. I would not recommend him! I was enrolled in his online class but was helpful and let me sit in on his MW class to help me out.

Hes more than willing to help. He gives you all the tools you need to pass. Dont be afraid to ask for help or need further explanation. If you take the time and put in the extra homework and reading time, you will do great. You will learn alot about him. He likes to use stories to help you relate to history so He uses his own stories. Enjoy, I did.
Ok, guys. Tootle is a tough grader, and strict in certain aspects. However, If you really want to LEARN history, take his class. He has a true passion for it, and his lectures are very inspirational and life informing. He makes you work hard for your grade, but at least I feel smarter now, how about you?
1st, professor tootle is a total babe. 2nd, you'll have a large workload, but the work is easy. Hopefully you like to read, or else this class will blow. he's really passionate about what he does, which shows when he's in front of class. If you're not afraid of actually learning in college, take this class.
Mr. Tootle is an amazing teacher. His lectures are entertaining and he has a great sense of humor. Although I was not a fan of weekly chapter readings, I was able to do well on the online quizzes. Just try your best and write down everything he says and you'll be fine!
Great instructor. This class is an easy A if you do everything he says to do. Make sure you read the assigned material, are attentive in class & take thorough notes (YOU'LL NEED IT), and do your work (theres really not that much). He is very clear as to what he wants from his students. He's a very smart, funny, and talented guy.
Although he is a very smart man and knows his information, I would not take this class if you are looking for an easy A. I would recommend him if you are working toward a history major. I learned a lot in his class which is a plus and he definitely made lectures interesting.
Mr. Tootle is a great professor! He cares about his students and makes them work for their grade. The final was an in class essay and every week there was an online test and every three weeks a paper. A class that makes you work, but is so worth it! The only thing I didn't like about him was he was a little arrogant at times, but overall good.
Don't let this site fool you. This professor has a terrible reputation around campus, just ask around. Heck, go to any counselor and ask about him, they will tell you themselves. He isn't there for his students and and treats people like crap.
An amazing instructor. He knows what he is talking about and he backs up all his claims w/fact. Jokes often, but be warned he isn't for those looking for an easy A. His lectures are important to pass the class, he does use the book for weekly quizzes, and there are a few writing assignments, but he tells you everything you need to pass his class.
TAKE ONLINE CLASS IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM. Talks about nonsense all class. Doesn't hardly discuss history. Very into himself goes on and on about how great he is. Can be sexist. Very annoying. Says he doesn't grade like an English teacher but totally does. Follow his instruction step by step and don't miss!
If you are lazy you will not like him. If you actually want to learn take his classes. He gives lecture with passion.
Online course is heavy with the writing assignments and book review. He is a tough grader and when you ask for clarification, doesn't give it. Expects you to accept the grade he gives you, while he states: You earned that grade and doesn't give grades. He is the only professor to take course with and needs improvement in communication skills.
Online course, test for every chapter (16-32), 3 writing assignments, book review (read 2 big books). Tough grader for those who suck at writing, claims: you earn grade HE gives, VERY arrogant, assumes everyone is here to get their PHd. It is a required GE course and not everyone LOVES history. Have other profs teach class because he intimidates.
He's an OK teacher although his slides rarely match his test. He likes to tell many stories from college... even those of which shouldn't be told. but in all.... be ready to work.
This professor doesn't makes power points that are based on his view. When I asked for help in the past he referred me to another place instead of helping me with material from his class. He makes the directions on s assignments much harder then they should be.

Mr. Tootle will educate you not only on History and economics; he well teach you to be a better, well prepared student. This class was extremely valuable to me. I'm paying for an education and Mr. Tootle delivers. I find his expectations reasonable and beneficial to the whole class. It's not just about you. Do yourself a favor, take his class!
His class isn't that bad. The grade was based on sixteen quizzes, three writing assignments, and a book review. As long as you keep up with the work, read the textbook, and follow his instructions, you'll be fine.
Mr. Tootle's lectures are very interesting to listen to, and the expectations for every assignment are very clear. He expects you to be a decent, competent student who knows how to format and write essays. His classes take effort, but aren't particularly difficult to pass.
If you want to be a history professor this might be for you. Lots of homework. Lectures have NO structure. He just shows up and talks and talks and talks. Then wants you to go home and read the book to understand what he was saying. Doesn't answer you questions well. Hes a smart ass and makes you feel dumb. Likes to brags about his knowledge.
I walked into his class with no idea what to expect. He was playing Tupac, however he was not in the classroom. when he walked in I almost laughed out loud. He is a slimmed down flesh and bone version of Peter Griffin. Thought it was gonna be cool. Then he opened his mouth and started to speak, and he is the most egotistical professor i have met
Be ready to read the text book cover to cover. Writing assignments are pretty vague and he doesn't elaborate. Assignments are worth way more points than they should be. Quiz every chapter. Talks in a condescending way and expects you to figure things out on your own. He would rather you google your questions than bother him with them.
Really hard. Doesn't lecture good especially when it comes to taking the test nothing he lectured is on the test
His class is pretty easy just read the books, and do the assignments. His lectures are pretty interesting, and are simple to understand. Follow his instructions and read the syllabus. You will be fine.
He is hilarious! You will not be disappointed, it may seem like a hard course at first but really all you have to do is the homework and show up to class. Attendance is huge but he really is a nice guy. I am still currently in his class, hoping to pass. I would take him again, he is not all bad!
Stephen Tootle is a good teacher, just like every class, you must work your butt of if you want to pass. His assignments are ok, and you should always pay attention in order to pass anyways.
Read Book for end of semester review. Youll read textbook - 2 chapters a week. Essay biweekly. Chicago style format. Wants you to figure things out on your own. At end of each test take a video of your answers cuz YOU'LL NEED THEM, but won't be able to view them later. Tests: chp 1, then 1-2, 1-3, 1-4. Then chp 5, 5-6, 5-7, 5-8 etc. W/same Q's.
He is sarcastic and rude. Do not recommend if history sin't your favorite. I took a different professor and it was a breeze. This guy was a drop for sure, made me realize I never wanted to be a teacher/professor.
I'm currently taking History 25 online with him but I've also taken History 17 and 18 online with him. Really easy class. You will have a quiz every week with only about 25 questions. Only about 3 writing assignments along with a book review at the end of the semester. Would definitely recommend him!
I recommend the online class if you are fairly interested in History, the class is relatively easy because you only take a few tests which are fairly easy to take and only a few assignments are required... strongly recommend the class and instructor... personally I think its best to take the online course rather than the in person class.
Im thankful that I was able to have Mr. tootle as my history 18 professor this semester. Not only does he give lectures about history and past experiences, he also throws in important life lectures. Keep in mind, he is a tough grader and bases his tests and quizzes off of classroom lectures so if you skip class you wont pass.
He's a great professor. Study Chicago style writing, record good notes towards the end for the final, stay on top of the weekly quizzes, and show up. Simple.
This class is not hard at all. You write 3 papers about a subject in the textbook and other articles he gives you. You take quizzes every week on each chapter which are very easy, and then you write a book review. He does not care if you pass or not. He is not an easy person to ask for help from because he simply doesn't care.
If you are a history major this is the class for you. Great professor and I learned how to become a better student overall.
This is a horrible teacher, he favors who he likes in the class, if you have issues/ disability, he doesn't give a rats ass basically acts like you utterly are beneath him. Strives to make you uncomfortable as possible. Makes fun of you, is a hypocrite if you get a 69.99 it's still a D not a C forewarning. He grades like you have a bachelors.

Mr. Tootle was a very good professor, his lectures are interesting and he relates them to current issues or personal. His test are straight forward everything he lectures on is on the test and what he don't cover in class it's on the lecture book. Reading is a must in this class. He offers extra credit attend and listen class and you will pass
Gives good feedback, has office hours to be able to ask more questions, is hilarious with his stories, they are related to class, amazing lectures but you should not miss class. Reading, no where near what I expected. Gives weekly study guides then the following week your tested on it. Took him for history 4, 5, 17, 18. Gave him an A+ as prof.
Mr. Tootle teaches his students information that goes beyond the classroom. His lectures are very funny and are directly related to your weekly assignments. Writing assignments are the most difficult assignment throughout the entire semester, but all are manageable. The difficulty of his class is exaggerated; work hard and you'll be totally fine!
I took his online class during the summer. The quizzes are incredibly difficult, and he's a very tough grader on your essays. Don't get the rampolla book he wants you to buy if you have experience with writing. If you must take his class, do not take it online.
He is okay, he is not as bad as people say he is. He is helpful and wants you to succeed but you have to be on his good side all the time. He is a harsh grader on writing assignments but the quizzes are easy. His online class is not bad. You have 4 quizzes a week that are worth 25-100 pts vs the assignments being 200 pts each. Do well on those!
I took this teacher for History and it was really easy. You do have to do a lot of reading but it's not that bad. he is a good teacher and he really works to help you pass and he is an easy grader. I would recommend taking him
He is the BEST history teacher I've head. He genuinely cares about the subject and students. He makes you work for your grade. He doesn't make time for slackers. *Hint* for his test write all the questions and answers because they always repeat on the following exams.
I would retake this class just not with Toots as the textbook was interesting and I did learn a few new interesting historical facts. He takes a good while to reply to emails. He seems to have lost his empathy towards his students or may just have too many classes going at once to have time to care.
Mr. Tootle's teaching is definitely different than usual. In the beginning it was very hard to follow along, but as the semester went on, I got used to it. He is very blunt, but he was always prepared and was very knowledgeable. The class was super easy and an easy A. We had online quizzes every week and we only had to do 4 essays.
Tootle has a doctorate and expects you to take college seriously. Lectures are important, take notes, so don't skip class. Great lectures, sometimes funny, test answers are given to you from lectures. Easy tests, very clear essay grading, even lets 1 missed essay or lowest grade drop. Take his class if you want to truly learn and do the reading.
Lot's of tests. Little opportunity for extra credit. Teacher mostly tests based on the textbook, little else. Good luck
At the beginning of this fall semester it was a bit tough, but as the semester went along I understood better. Quizzes every week, got to do somewhat (a lot) of reading and have to attend class in order to learn something! Often gives lectures about what is going to be on the final, pay attention and listen!
This class isn't "easy", but you can get an A. There are quizzes every week, and the answers are in the text. His lectures help with the three writing assignments he gives throughout the semester. The final question is given on the first day of class and addressed heavily at the end of class. Book review is easy if you read the book.
Took his online HIST005 class. I submitted an assignment, that I worked hard on for days, and I guess I had submitted it in the wrong format. I politely asked to re-submit in which he said "no" so I received a 0/200 just because of that. He does not seem to care,or rather has high expectations. Be careful when taking his class.
By far the most difficult teacher I've had. He's rude, stand off-isa, and clearly doesn't care if you pass or fail. I've never had an issue with any professors until this class. He grades outrageously hard and doesn't have a heart when there are misunderstandings. You could study all day for the quizzes and probably still fail most of them.
He doesn't seem to care and takes a long time to get back to you when you need help.
He doesn't allow late work so make sure you're aware of the due date. In my case, I turned in a couple things late, he continued to grade them, and then 2 weeks later changed them to a zero. Obviously it was my fault for turning it in late. All in all, the class was super boring and he wasn't the greatest.
Mr. Tootle is by far one of my favorite professors I've took. His lectures are very detailed but make sure you still take notes because he doesn't go back if you missed jotting something down. Overall follow instructions on Canvas and you'll be fine. If you have a car newer than a 2015 model, you're doing something wrong with your life, Tootle.
You follow his rules and you get an A, my essays weren't the best but I got As on all of them because I followed his format, word count, and citation rules. His online quizzes are all from quizlet. There is also a book report at the end of the semester, which like I said if you follow the rules you get an A.
Mr. Tootle was a very good professor. He does not hide anything from you, my glass got the final essay question on the first day. Take notes in class and read what he tells you and you will pass. He is very blunt, he will call you out if you have your phone out. The essays were very straightforward. What you put in is what youll get out!
He is a great guy, lectures were very good. He has quiz's every week, some for 100 points and 100 questions, 1000 word book review, and an essay for a final with no help. not very easy
Mr. Tootle is one of the best professors at COS. This class taught me a LOT about history and how to succeed in college in general. He really cares about his students and takes pride in doing his job well. Pay attention/take notes during lectures, read the material, and do all your assignments and you will have no problems succeeding in this class!
Mr. Tootle is a spectacular teacher who genuinely cares for the success of his students. He is always giving us real life tips. Just buy the books that the syllabus calls for and youll be Fine. You have to do the work!! Their is no getting out of it! He gives extra credit! If you do the work youll get the grade simple as that.
He doesn't seem to care about or understand his students. The class is not too difficult but I would not take history with this teacher again.

I would avoid this professor if you're someone who is still learning the ropes of essay writing. One mistake and you'll get accused of plagiarism . This is the first class I've ever had trouble with. He is also an extremely hard grader. There were papers I worked hard on for days to end up getting a zero on. Just pass on this professor.
Tootle is not a good teacher, do NOT take him. He expects you to act like a graduate student and any little mistake on his papers results in plagiarism. He talks to you like you are below him with no respect. He also does not respond to emails in a timely manner.

Took him for an online class and HE IS TOUGH. Expects you to write essays and to turn in your paper with "Turnitin". If you don't cite properly or quote properly, it will automatically be counted as plagiarism. I've had three people I know (in-class and online) get 0's on their assignments. Makes you submit .docx, anything else 0.
He is not a good teacher. He should not be teaching, if he is going to treat his students poorly. Do not take him.
I got an A and I still would not take this professor again. He is never available and doesnt answer his emails. I did not learn anything from this class either plus he talks to you in an undermining tone.
All his quizzes are online. His essays are tough and wants you to write like youre at doctorate level, its ridiculous. If you forget to cite by accident, automatic plagiarism and he reports you. Avoid this professor.

I took this professor for a history summer class... NEVER AGAIN. He is truly the worst professor I have ever taken from COS. I have only taken online classes , and he is terrible at communicating to his students in a mutually respectable way. He is not accepting and very strict. All I know from this class is... Took him during summer school for an online course. Tests were easy, but he was really strict on the writing assignment and if you do something wrong counts as PLAGIARISM. He is a really TOUGH grader. Doesnt even give proper replies on emails!!! I would NEVER take his class again.
I would avoid this teacher if possible. he is not very professional and the way he talks to his students is not right. I didnt learn much from this class besides how to use footnotes. This is the only class Ive ever had a problem with.
If Tootle was the only professor at COS teaching history, I would travel to another campus just to avoid him! I repeat do not take his class!
I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. Dr. Tootle is one of the best professors I have ever had. I had him for both History 17 and 18 because I enjoyed his lectures. He even offers a great amount of extra credit if you join a club on campus. If you really want to learn history and plan to improve your writing, take his class.

I cannot say that it is an easy class for those of you who expect little to no work... but it is straightforward. If you get a bad grade you will know why. You definitely have to work for your grade but he is a great professor and clearly explains everything if you ask. Take good notes and you will do well.
Took this class on- line mandatory because my major is History. He expects all his students to know everything . Asked for what books the class needed and he sent an email response that states that he only uses the books he uses in this class but doesn't list them on his syllabus like most teacher's do. Dropped this class very hard Instructor ��
I personally find the class to be REALLY challenging. Throughout my time in the class, I have struggled to keep my grade an an A. Taking notes is CRUCIAL for this class, thats literally all we do. If you take him, you better be on time and ready to takes notes the whole time. If this class is your only option, try to have a buddy in the class!!!
If you go to office hours hes extremely willing to work with you and gives great feedback.
i don't recommend you to take this teacher because he aspects to do his assignments RIGHT!!! he does not care about you guys and if you miss class, you're grade will drop!! theres every quiz on every week on canvas and his one of my worst history teachers that i ever took in life and the way he teaches to his classes, it does not make interesting!!
He teaches History like how it's supposed to be taught. This class is not for people who will give up instantly but if you do the readings and pay attention, there's no way you can fail the class. He treats everyone as if they want an A and has amazing lectures. Everything he teaches in the class is a real eye-opener, Historically and personally.
Professor Tootle is an interesting person. A lot of what he says comes out the wrong way but he means well. I thought I would not like him but ended up taking him for hist 17 and 18. I honestly learned a lot more than just history. His lectures are long but he has a lot of knowledge outside of history. Have your materials out and ready!
He is very lecture heavy and can get very boring. He makes you take quizzes every week and sometimes the questions to the quiz are never talked about in class. Attendance is mandatory and if missed your grade will suffer badly.
If you are into history, he is the perfect teacher. He gives quizzes every week and sometimes he doesn't get to some of the questions on the quiz. There is a lot of reading involved. Also don't skip class because this class is attendance heavy. He keeps it very real and is lecture heavy. It gets a bit boring but make sure to take really good notes
I took Tootle's His 17 & His 18 class. I can honestly say this class taught me a lot. By far the best but sometimes stressful class (if you get behind). There are a lot of readings, but READ THE ONES YOU WILL USE FOR YOUR WRITING ASSIGNMENTS! This is not an easy A class, but it is WORTH IT!
I enjoyed the lecture. I loved his sense of humor, and I think he would have been an interesting professor in person. However, he doesn't put any effort into helping students. I misunderstood one requirement for a short paper, and he refused to give any feedback on how to improve the next-I figured it out alone, but it was a frustrating experience.
Awful awful awful professor, don't even bother trying to reach out to him for help if you are having issues with an assignment, he'll just blow you off and expect you to figure it out yourself. Save yourself the class enrollment costs and look for another class to fill in the spot, or find another professor.

his one of my worst history teachers that I ever took in my life. he doesn't give good feedback on the assignments at all. he doesn't care about his studies. there's no projects or working with partners. all his quizzes and assignments are on online but his strict on the assignments of how he wants it, I don't recommend you to take him!

If you already dislike History, do not take this professor. I found this professor very hard to follow and made the subject very uninteresting. I had to drop the class, there were heavy lectures and reading that didn't follow what was on the tests.
I enrolled in Tootles online class and quickly dropped the class. There are many articles you must read, but nothing corresponds to the tests. The quizzes are short so you cant miss many questions. The professor also gives off the vibe that he doesnt want to help. Would definitely stay away from his online class if I were you.
Absolutely horrible, worst professor I have ever ever ever had! he doesn't care about his students, and will give no positive feedback what so ever! He will give you plagiarism and a 0 on an entire essay when you made one little mistake of not quoting something, no second chances, and grades your paper at a doctrine level. WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
I took this summer after my sophomore year in high school. He requires really specific citings in all of the papers, and most of the reading was unnecessary and/or irrelevant. I had at least three mental breakdowns while attempting to write papers for this class. I ended up ok, but it was the worst class I've ever taken. Not for the faint of heart.
Tootle is a difficult person, let alone professor. He blatantly takes pride in how insanely challenging his class is and purposely makes getting an A horribly hard. He's rude, and if you're scared of someone humiliating you publicly, don't ask any questions. Tons of reading, extremely stressful, I shed many tears over this class. Don't take him.
I took both his 17 & 18. He is funny and interesting in person but online he tends to be really quiet. This is a stressful class towards the end if you get behind. Also, you do not have to read every single reading. You will understand along the way which source will best support your thesis. DO NOT LET THESE COMMENTS SCARE YOU! :) You will be ok.
Took online. Three essays throughout the class as well as a book review and a surprise essay as the final. Final based off question given in syllabus at the beginning of his class. Don't take him if you don't have to. Half the slides in his powerpoints are blank or not even phrases written, very confusing. Gloats often, not helpful or smart.
I took this course online, lots of reading that often doesn't correspond to the quizzes but could be useful to the essays. The textbook is mostly what the quizzes were based on. There are 3 essays and 2 essays for the final, the last two weeks of the class are very stressful. If you're a bad writer, I wouldn't take the class, you won't get an A.
Discussions are basically essays, essays, book review essays. Tough grader on writing and just refers you to the writing center. If you don't cite properly he considers plagiarism and sends a scary email about getting referred to dean. This history class is tougher than at the university level. A lot of reading and writing. He is not teaching.
Taken online due to an obvious pandemic in our country. He was clear and precise on his grading. powerpoints were direct to the quizzes. He doesn't give you answers to the quizzes, so figure it out on your own. I mean, it was a quick class and I never spoke with him, but It wasn't too bad. & if the essays say 500 words, do 500 words.
His way of communicating to his students is not very welcoming. To be a great professor, one must empathize with their class. Stephen lacks a key element that is crucial for a student to succeed.
Great professor. Definitely helps open you up to new ideas. Writing assignments are difficult but not impossible, also the writing textbook he recommends you buy will show you exactly what he wants written in your essays. Extra credit is basically an entire letter grade and it's easy to do, so do it. You will walk away with skills for real life.
I took this class in the summer, online. Hardest class I have taken in my life. He isn't very understanding of his students and does not allow to make up any errors in papers. The assessments are insanely difficult. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!
He literally didnt even allow the class to pop onto my canvas when I added the class and told me to do the first assignment or else I would get dropped. I emailed him asking for the assignment at least until it showed onto my canvas. He said no and dropped me in a day.

You're definitely gonna earn your grade with Mr. Tootle. Be prepared to do quite of bit of reading and writing. He follows his syllabus to the letter so definitely make sure you read it and reference it when unsure about something. On his papers, make sure that you go through his grading rubric and learn what you need to work on. 10/10 good teacher

He just gives you the reading assignment and expects you to be able to figure out what he wants without any help. He started out the semester with an email titled "Why are you such a jerk?". He offered no extra guidance to help us gain an understanding or any workshops for confused students on writing assignments.

Very specific on how he grades. So make sure to read the syllabus! Despite what others have said, I had reached out to him for help and he turned out to be super helpful (although very intimidating, I can see how some students feel that he is condescending). Overall, he is okay. Do the work (right), skim the readings, you will survive.

i took this class during the summer when COVID hit and he did not instruct the class well. gave SO MUCH to read but none was really needed when it came to homework or essays. if you love history then maybe it will be easier.. received a C mainly because quizes did not match information given

Choose a different professor for this class unless it's your only option. There is to much reading and the information read doesn't even show up in the weekly quizzes! Very tough grader on essays, and wants them in a specific way. If you submit the essay in the wrong format, its a zero. If you do decide to take this, proceed at your own risk.
I have never had an bad experience with a teacher until this year, Tootle's class consists of nothing but tests and essays. However, the readings he posts and the textbooks we used give us little to no info on the test. Terrible at giving feedback, emailed multiple times and received not one back. Take this class if not don't want to learn.
He gives out to much work and doesnt allow you enough time to do it. I did all the work and he still failed me. He fails to respond to emails with clarification, or further instruction. if you dont know how to use APA, & you take his class make sure to learn before. Also be sure to follow & reread the announcements/instructions on assignments.
This class was a lot to handle. The assignments were only posted a week ahead, so no working at your own pace, which can be frustrating if you also work. Tests were usually easy but they were heavily weighted so 1 wrong answer drops your grade a lot. Essays were graded tough as well. LOTS of reading. Definitely a difficult class.
I would not recommend taking his online courses. It would have been nice to receive lectures from the professor himself (recorded or live). I don't mind the strictness of his grading (and it is strict). Still, not a terrible choice, just not very engaging
If I have to be honest this class made no sense. He made no effort to help when asked he honestly doesn't care about his students. When I asked for help he did nothing to help all he said was to refer back to notes. The notes weren't helpful because they didn't follow the test were on. Don't even get me started on the essay. Must know APA or fail.
It takes 24 hours for a class to pop on to your canvas sometimes and I explained that to him I couldnt access the first assignment and if he could email it to me. He said no and dropped me. LOL.

Dr Tootle is one of the best professors I have ever had. After COS, I went on to complete my BA and MBA at major universities and Tootle made me think critically about history and other issues at a level that I had not done previously. Get ready to work because he is not going to hand out free grades. You reap what you sow.

Easily the best professor at COS Ive had. Ive taken both 17 and 18 with him and the curriculum was rich and intriguing. The class is very well structured and is the same every week. Each module contains a lecture, a chapter of reading, primary sources, and a quiz. There is a writing assignment every few modules, read and dont be lazy. Easy A.
This man is a terrible professor who is not willing to help his students even when they reach out . He does not abide by his own syllabus & accuses students of plagiarism without fully explaining or educating to avoid doing so, Do not take this professor unless you are fully familiar with Chicago style otherwise prepare to fail and plagiarize.
I took this course during the summer. At first I was stressed but I realized to just follow what he says and if you do then you will pass. Make sure to buy the textbooks and if you read and annotate at the same time then his essays will be a piece of cake. Overall excellent Professor and when he grades he does follow his rubric.
Do not take this class! He is very picky about how he grades and will unreluctantly give you a zero on an assignment for minor errors.
Mr. Tootle is by far the worst professor I have had in my time at COS. I was not pleased with my essay grades after following his rubric, I tried to get feedback from him on what I did so wrong and was met with sarcasm or his response was flat out rude. If you want any kind of feedback that will actually help don't take Mr. Tootle. 0/10 in my book.

I would definitely not recommend this professor. You could have all the right information and if it isn't laid out EXACTLY as he wants you'll get major points deducted, and no similar won't be good enough. He doesn't work with students to help them through the year, even with covid. I am an A- average student since middle school so trust me, Don't.
He doesn't stress the book review enough, but I still got it turned in on time. His writing assignments are strict and a bit demanding. Don't take his class online, I enjoyed his class 100 times more when I was taking it in person. Follow his rubric for each paper carefully, study Chicago-style papers before you take his class.

You need two books for this class. The tests are not too hard as long as you read the textbook. But this class has four essays that are at least 500 words. Very tough grader and doesn't provide feedback on essay's nor does he grade right away. There is also a book review due at the end of the semester.
Professor Tootle was not an easy teacher at all, very strict and if students did not arrive to orientation he would fail not drop which I understand due to students responsibility to do so, aside from that Mr. Tootle is very blunt & also very funny, moving forward his quiz's are very short so study and expect written assignments.

He is clear on what is expected, how to complete assignments, where to look for guidance, and how we will be graded. The class made me a better writer and although it was tedious, I enjoyed his class. The course is very organized with clear guidance.

Other than that, he has really good lectures, but his test questions are hard to go by since they're his own questions and they don't show the correct answers at the end, so I felt like I wasn't learning from my mistakes.

I did well and knew the material, but that didn't make the class any better. If you don't find the class difficult, you will find it annoying. He gets off topic frequently, with stories about himself & how great of a professor he is. His lectures fell behind the quiz content, two textbooks are needed, & attendance is part of the grade.
I got an A, but it wasn't easy! Be ready to write papers..... sooooo many papers! The two books that you read do not align and can be confusing. I'd focus on the History of the America until the end. Reading both simultaneously was confusing to me. Review your previous papers; I believe looking over them and seeing where I went wrong, saved me.
He can get off track during lectures, it interferes with the time we have to learn the material for the week so it can get annoying. Majority of the time we didn't go over the stuff needed for the quizzes at the end of the week. Other than that you have to read 3 books, and there it quite a bit of writing.

He is very clear on what he expects from writing assignments, and if you don't follow them, you won't get a great grade. He is very clear about what he wants in the class however wants you to put a lot of effort in his assignments. The class material is straightforward but the workload is very heavy, so if you are only taking history for credit youre better off taking a different prof.
His courses are very heavy on writing out essays which make up at least 80% of your grade. Do not take him for summer class especially if you are not good at writing essays, are busy with life, or have multiple classes. He is not your friend, even explicitly stating this in his presentations, you are merely a stranger to him.
He gets back to you promptly but is not very understanding of students issues within the community he teaches in. He's very out of touch.
This isn't a review for me but my friend. She took his course over the summer of 23 and had a decent grade throughout. For the final he issued an essay to which i watched her type herself. When he returned the graded essay he left the comment "plagiarism" and failed her for her own intellectual work. Would not recommend based of that alone.

I absolutely phoned it in on this class, but I believe other than my grade, I would rate him the same no matter what. He's rude and so prejudice, its like he wants you to fail. 3 large essays were assigned and he completely failed my first one cause I got stuck on a plane and couldn't submit it in time and he refused to take it after the deadline. I'm a really good writer and barely managed to pass.
Please just save yourself the stress and take anyone other than him. He always went off track from the lectures, he never helps you with anything, and the modules that he assigns do not help with the papers that you have to complete. I am honestly surprised that I got such a high grade in the end but I would NEVER take this class again.
I submitted a paper 2 days early that would have gotten at least an A- but I got a 0/200 because I submitted it as a google document and pdf rather than a word document. I emailed him 2 days before the assignment was due asking if I turned in the paper in the right format and he didnt answer back until after it was due saying its the wrong format
Tootle was cool. He is tough and doesnt budge on his grading at all, but he will bump you up a grade level if your right at the edge. Its not a hard class its just alot of reading and even more writing. I enjoyed the class. I took it online and i took the shorter class.

I managed to somehow pass his class with a low B, despite this; do not take this class, especially as a dual enrollment student like me (currently a senior). You have to take time and read the textbooks he mentions, and you must read the book you will have to write a book review for. It is a very hard class and this professor is difficult as well.
I don't know how I even passed to be honest. He failed my girlfriend because she submitted her final as a PDF instead of a word document. He called that plagiarism, that being said never take this professor.
I just finished his class doing dual enrollment in high school (as a sophomore) and got a low A. Everything was pretty straightforward, he told you what to include in papers, it was just A LOT of reading. Make sure you're ready to read, and it's challenging, I wouldn't recommend taking his class in high school, but it is definitely possible.

Politics were made very clear throughout the class, but he always talks about how he wants to stay unbiased and not influence opinions. He also goes on tangents about his personal life, including talking about his divorce. Taking notes on a laptop is not allowed, you must write in a notebook. Be aware the final uses blue books, it is not an exam.
There's A LOT of reading. He assigns 3 textbooks for this course and ALL are read simultaneously. The assignments are based directly on the content of the books. He is very knowledgeable in History, but expects us to be at his level of expertise. He is very condescending and some of his remarks about our intelligence are offensive. TOUGH grader.
Took it in the summer to get it out of the way. He relies on turnitin to grade your papers. There was a lot of quizzes that barely affects your grade, need to read 3 books to , your grade will be determined by the final because it has a lot of point.
The teacher's grading process, communication, and unclear quiz feedback are frustrating. This teacher uses Turnitin excessively and does not provide helpful feedback on assignments. The teacher does not promptly respond to messages and criticizes the lack of clarity in quiz answers. Disgusted and disappointed with this teacher.
I am a high school learner, and I mentioned that to him. I asked him for guidance, and he told me I had all the necessary resources to pass his class. I dropped his class the second week because I knew I was going to be unsuccessful because of the lack of assistance and guidance. If you need help, he will make you set up a group meeting one-on-one.

True academic discourse is rare in a modern learning environment, but achievable if you take this professor's class. He does have high expectations, but only because he cares for your legitimate learning. It is rare to have a teacher as good as him.
Tootle has a strict grading policy, but engaging with his system pays off. The workload is heavy, with lots of reading and writing. I found unstuckstudy ai really helpful for efficient study prep, alongside the class textbook. Take this class seriously.

Probably one of the worst teachers I've had for college. Don't bother asking for help from him. It's impossible for me at least to even get a B on an assignment and when I try to figure out what I can do better his advice doesn't solve anything. The final given out dropped me to a F from a C. I have no clue how to improve assessment cause of him.
Don't take his class if you struggle to focus, transitioning from Highschool, trying to get a program at COS etc etc. This is the worst class I've ever taken in my entire life. too much reading (80+ pages weekly), he tends to talk about himself or his political views during lectures instead of actually teaching, you're on your own in his class.
I took his online accelerated course, and he wasn't as terrible as everyone made him out to be. His class is kind of tough, you just have to stay on top of the reading and the lectures. Also, he is very strict about what he expects when you are writing your essays, if you don't follow his criteria he will dock many points. 6/10
I am a 4.0 Student, I took this class because I don't want to do it at my UC. He is SO disrespectful. He has the most unclear grading criteria. You can follow the assignment rubric perfectly and he'll still find something to complain about. And good luck trying to correct him. Crazy stuff coming from a guy working at a community college. smh. BAD
After all of the terrible reviews, I'd expect Tootle to change his ways. You can tell what kind of professor he is based solely on the syllabus. It mentions something like "I'm not a therapist, if you're not mentally stable don't take my class", which I think is pretty inappropriate. He gives little to no feedback. Maybe he likes the power trip.
Has clear expectations in the Syllabus, pay attention to what he's saying during the lecture not what is on the slides, write notes, stay on top of reading, its honestly not a hard course and his lectures are informational if you stay focused throughout.

Tough class but not impossible. I'm here to breakdown exactly how I was able to pass this class without losing an arm. 1. PDF is online for all books. Use it! Makes quotes easy to find. 2. All essay prompts available online before assigned. Google the class. 3. Paper guidelines need to be followed exactly. No buts. Syllabus, especially.
I took Mr. Tootle last semester, and I think he was a great professor. There is alot of information covered which equals lots of homework but it's history. I enjoyed this class, all I did was take notes and relax. Mr. Tootle also has really great music taste. I wish I could take him again. I hardly talked to him too and I think he was great.

Take a class from another school. He is pretty much only professor for this subject at the school. Use the community college exchange to find a different class trust me. Cheaper online and you don't have to have this professor.
I am usually a good student and wouldn't let a low grade pass. This is my second time attempting his class because it's pretty much the only teacher available. He's a super hard grader. There is no leniency and all of your grade is mainly based on lecture heavy papers. Mind you, you have to buy multiple books for this class.
Don't take this class.All he does is talk about his personal life for half the lecture.this class kept me stressed 24/7. listen to the other reviews,find another teacher.
Follow the Syllabus, pay more attention to what he's saying during the lecture and skim through slides. Listen. Take good notes. Read the chapters he wants you to read and take notes on them. He's very direct and straightforward. Not much of a difficult class, just do the work.
Essays. He'll tell you to cite 3 sources, if you do, automatic B even if you're dead wrong (try though). He taught me to work smarter, not harder. People who didn't pass 100% didn't do the work. He gives you a paper that explains how to pass the class, follow it, it's not a trick. TAKE NOTES EVERY LECTURE, ITLL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Hes awesome.
Do NOT hesitate to take Tootle. A new favorite! He loves his job and cares that his students learn. He has a couple 500 word papers and quizzes. It is not hard at all. If you read exactly what he tells you to you WILL get an A. He sets you up for success. He loves to chat and this material will actually improve your life! Genuinely enjoyable.
Was an alright class, if you don't mind lectures for a straight hour and don't plan on being sick you'll enjoy Tootle's class. Not a bad person at all, but very particular grader. His tangential stories were fun to hear.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE (online at least). I took Tootle over the summer online for some history credit; it was a terrible experience, to say the least. Be prepared to buy three books for this course (the writing one is entirely useless; don't get it). He took ten years to respond to emails and gave no feedback on the writing. Terrible professor.

It's my fourth week in this class and I have 29 things to do for this class alone. I have to read 3 chapters from three different books (total 9), and I have about 12 documents to read. I also have two YouTube videos to watch, I haven't checked how long they are but last week one video was an hour long. I also have to take three quizzes by Sunday.
If you are looking actually learn history and aren't afraid to put in the effort you should take this class. It is not an easy class and you do have to put in a decent amount of effort to get a good grade. However, it is achievable. When taking the class I was a full time student enrolled in STEM courses and kept up with the work without issue.
I would not recommend this professor at all. He compliments his lack of empathy with mildly inappropriate remarks. His grading criteria feels too excessive and unnecessary. His standards are set way too high right out the gate, and that's not even everything. Maybe he should reevaluate some of his teaching methods or just quit teaching overall.
Rude to me over not doing an assignment even though it wasn't due until later. Forces us to read an excessive amount of hours of material even though 99% of it isn't relevant to what we're learning. Extremely rude when I needed help. Called me an idiot and said "learn to read" just because I called out his contradictory guidelines and behavior.
I can't believe how disrespectful he is from the start. Doesn't care about helping and just makes us read documents that doesn't answer our questions. Insulted me and told me to quit messaging him or else because I asked him about his contradictory feedback to an essay. Not the only student he did this too. Already reported him to who I need to.
This professor is very full of himself and will mark you off by a lot of points for the tiniest mistakes. Your best will never be good enough for this teacher. Highly recommend registering with another teacher if you can.
i had a 3.263 gpa and dropped out of college because of him. the kind of person that is better off from your life. I'm traumatized and dot want to go back just because of him. really awful person and full of himself honestly he acts like a teenager and says bad words all the time
I was shocked to see the hate comments for Prof Tootle. I became a history major bc of him! Yes he is opinionated, most ppl with a phd in this field (history/politics) are this way! He expects students to do their best as far as completing the assigned readings, etc bc he is preparing you for when you ultimately transfer to a university level!
I took tootle way back in 2014, back then he was an honest professor who didn't give too many assignments. Yes he did come off as arrogant at times but he was tolerable. I can't believe he's changed so much though out the years. I squeezed my way out of his class with a C.
He gave out so much work, gave me a zero on my citation part of the rubric, even though I was only missing one more source (which was his lectures, and he never clarified that it needed to be incorporated). I started having nightmares of this class, whether it be turning in work or doing it BECAUSE of the professor.
Whatever u do, run from this professor. He grades extremely hard on papers, and his quizzes do not correlate well with the textbook. I woke up everyday driving 90+ on the freeway wishing that I would get pulled over for an excuse to not show up to class. Be warned :D
This is currently the last class I am taking in order to graduate. I'm currently standing at an F from his horrible grading system. He goes on and on about life and being great blah blah blah but grades harshly causing me and I'm sure many others to fail or just barely pass? Register for a different professor in hopes of actually graduating!
Warning! If you receive this professor, scream, run, and request a new professor immediately. I do not understand how this professor maintains employment. He falsely accuses students of plagiarism in an attempt to wreck their education.
0/10 experience. In my 16 years of living, I have never seen a professor this bad. If you see this man, run because he may chase after you and ask about your political views and will grade them on the spot! Do not take his course.

I don't get the hate, Professor Tootle is a hidden gem at COS. I'm surprised he's not at a top university he's super smart and explains history like a movie. If you want an easy A, pick someone else. But if you're willing to work and actually learn, he's one of the best. I had an A all semester and enjoyed the class.
You write a total of 5 papers, and this includes 2 essays 1000-2000 words at the end of the semester submitted through turn it in. He wants every paper with foot notes in Chicago style he is a tough grader. If there is someone else doing this class take it somewhere else if not good luck just buy the books and study all I can say
Provides no feedback on assignments. Will refer you back to assignment instructions rather than clarify when you have a question regarding an assignment. Good Luck!
I had maintained a B+ in this class. Until the final. He gave me a ZERO and FALSELY accused me of using AI.He grades inconsistenly. He tell you he's not your friend/therapist then whines about being divorced (he definitely holds a grudge against females). I've filed a complaint and would strongly advise anyone else to do the same.
DO NOT TAKE! This was by far one of the WORST professors I have ever had. no constructive feedback. not happy with your work. ACCUSED me of AI on my final assignments and since it wasn't PDF, gave me an F. He is not worth the headache whatsoever. Doesn't accept late work even if it's a second late. if you can avoid him, do it at ALL COSTS.!
This professor was unfair and unreasonable. He accused me of cheating without real proof and didn't care about what I had to say. He only trusted AI software not his students and made zero effort to help me. I should have looked at his reviews before I took his class. He is an awful professor and should retire already. I don't understand why the person below would say he is a "hidden gem at COS" because he really is not. I used to not look at reviews for professors, but believe that this so called professor is awful! DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Id rather wreck my car than walk in to this man's class. I'd pay anyone a million dollars to avoid this man any day of the week and I'd pay you if I could to not take his class. It's a community college class, not Stanford, yet he acts like it's an ivy league level class/institution in his strictness. Be smart, don't be one of his students!
Strongly wouldn't recommend taking this course with him. He is not flexible with grading and will not hear an explanation for the use of AI. He will not explain the use of AI and overall does not communicate.
I tried to give this professor a chance after reading the rates on here. He expects his students to be professional history writers from the start. He accused me of using AI on my final exam and refused to show me the AI report. I even asked if I could write the paper in front of him to prove I did not use AI and he refused. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

You will work for your grade BUT this is college, it's not supposed to be easy. He is short in responses/feedback so it may sound rude, but it's not. He's just straight to the point. USE the feedback on essays, make sure to use all the sources and you will do great! He truly just wants us to learn, not cheat our way through. He's a great professor!
I did not stay fully through the whole course. I kind of just know since the beginning this teacher was not for me. If you ask for help, he tells you to look at, instructions, syllabus or ask your classmates. He expects you to write like a historian from the start. Overall grades hard especially with writing assignments. Huge amount of reading.

Tootle is a very tough grader when it comes to writing papers, make sure you're writing with all the sources he's telling you to use. Highly suggest looking for a different professor if you're trying to take it easy in history.

even though i passed with an A, i would never take this class again. i wouldn't recommend this class to anyone ! probably the worst few weeks of my life, made my summer miserable. if you do take this class and use AI, i suggest running it through ai detector websites a few times. otherwise ur cooked.
Summer class In addition to your books, you will need to read dozens of documents and articles for sources to write your papers. His grading rubric is clear; make sure to follow it. Stay on task and try not to procrastinate. This class is challenging, but the material provided is interesting. Try to find some enjoyment in what you're learning.
The class was mainly short lectures and a quiz after, then you read the assigned chapters from the text books. The hardest part was the essays which is about 80% of your grade. I took this class in the summer and honestly would have been easier had it been a full semester.
The worst instructor I have had! From the moment I read his syllabus I knew this guy was going to be a douche! For being very tough on writing assignments, he sure needs help from AI writing his syllabus. He heavily warns against using AI for ANYTHING, and will accuse you of using it, even if you didn't! I don't why he still has a job at COS.
Nothing good to say whatsoever. This teacher will kill your mental health, he is far from deserving the title "professor." To high school students looking to knock out history, do it at West Hills Community College or Saddleback, both have excellent courses with even decent professors. If you hate yourself take this course.

This professor was great! I learned a lot, he was funny and a great teacher.
He wanted us to write essays like a historian from day one; this was a fast course over summer school. so had weekly essays. but we wouldn't get one grade until like the day before the next one was due. And it was hard to know what you need to work on to fix for the next essay.
I didn't like this prof from day one however i did warm up to him.He does have a high ego but i've never learned so much about history this easily before.He makes classes interesting and connects his lectures to real life events so they're easier to understand.He does talk a bit much sometimes but other than that it's just his tough grading system.
I must be honest, this professor does his job correctly, and some students may find this approach challenging. I felt a huge amount of motivation to finish this class and do it correctly by his standards. He is a great professor who deserves more ratings other than "mean, rude, or harsh". He actually wants you to learn and not be lazy, that's it!

Mr. Tootle is an incredible professor who provides the final essay question at the start of the semester for continual reflection. He is approachable for questions anytime and genuinely wants his students to succeed. The class can be reading heavy but manageable. Attendance earns points, and he maintains fairness by sticking to the syllabus.
You're going to have to read 2 textbooks. I recommend getting the Audio books on top of the regular. The Rampolla book is unnecessary unless you don't know how to structure an essay. There will be 5 essays that you have to write. Overall enjoyed learning but the multiple essays were challenging. Follow the rubric to a tee, if you miss one source C…
Interesting and easy to follow lectures. Tougher grading standards, but gives very clear rubrics. Worth taking if you're really wanting to learn. I'm glad I took a chance on this course despite the negative reviews. I learned so much.
Returning to school after a 25-year hiatus I took History 17. Reading the student reviews, I was a bit intimidated. Professor Tootle asks for honesty and integrity in all work submitted; and promises that same judgement of grading in return. I passed with a B- . Not an achievement for me; but a testament to the teaching of Dr Stephen Tootle.
