It's engineering graphics... it's not hard... he spends hours on the simplest of topics and annoys me into skipping with his boring tone.
Easy, show up for the tests and you will make an A.

He never uses contractions when he speaks. It's such a small thing, but so aggrevating!
Back in the day he used to teach C programming. All of you little boys and girls thank god you didn't have him then! Believe that.

One word: HORRIBLE!
Graphics: I never knew how much could be crammed in something as small as it.

Course material was easy enough on to teach yourself. But he demonstrated the drafting programs pretty well.
This instructor is very helpful to students who are sincerely trying to succeed in engineering. He deserves the highest marks!
Outsdanding professor. Very knowledgeable and excellent communicator. Extremely helpful to those students coming to his office. Drops the lowest exam grade which also helps the students. Higly recommended.
Outstanding professor! Would take him again. The better students seem to especially enjoy him.

Excellent communicator. Superior students will love him. If you want to learn the material in a clear way, I highly recommend Prof. Wells

Clear, fair, and honest! Good professor!
My favorite professor! Students who tend to be lazy will not like him, though. Also, he does little things to make it hard for students to get away with cheating--which makes him some enemies. The truly serious students all like him, though.
I like the fact that he drops the lowest exam grade.

Prof. Wells is one of the best. He is clear, professional, and shows a sincere interest in the students doing well.

Very clear and to the point. A no-nonsense sort of guy who is fair and tries hard to help the students.
Very clear and coincise. Good handouts.
Excellent instructor. Stresses professionalism.

Excellent instructor. A bit demanding, but quite good. Seems to care about the students.
Very good.
Good, solid instructor.
i did not like wells really....
Excellent Professor. Can not say enough good things about him. Extremely dedicated to helping the student who wants to be helped.

Prof.Wells is an excellent professor.
Major SOB. When he says he won't accept your test if you take longer 50 minutes, he really means 45 minutes. I nearly failed the course because he wanted to get back to his office to drink.
easy. not much required
Course was hard, the tests were just unreasonable to me. I got A's on all the programs, but the tests pulled me down to a B. Over a fairly hard course, ask for help if it's needed because falling behind is not hard to do at all.
Excellent Professor. Prof. Wells is always there to help the student.
Not a very clear teacher
Excellent Professor. He is always there for the students who want to be helped; not for the lazy bums who bring the class down.
Professor Wells is one of the best professors I've had at TTU. He is always there when you need help. Genuinely cares about the students.
Very uptight about rules. Can be confusing. Sometimes forgets he's teaching freshmen, not seniors. Study and go to lab and you should do ok, but lecture is a joke. Take Goolsby if you have a chance.
Professor Wells is an excellent professor. He is always there to help the students.
Professor Wells is the best professor I have taken at TTU. He was always willing to help me.
Professor Wells did an excellent job teaching this course and providing help whenever I needed it. If you do your work, there is no reason why you should not get a good grade out of his course.
Great Teacher! Very easy to understand. I would have been lost in this course if Professor Wells had not been so thorough. All the material was presented with such clarity.
lol you will fail he is terable. Went to his office several times when he asked and i said my name nd he didnt even remember what he said to me. Also wrote emails with answers to go to his office but still nothing.
Terrific professor. He was always available and eager to help whenever I needed his help.
Both this course and the professor were excellent! I would have been lost if it were not for the professor being so clear and thorough. I look forward to taking more classes from Professor Wells.
He isn't the easiest professor but I would deffinatly recomend him if you have to take this class just make sure that you a accurate when you write your programs. He's good.
c is hard to understand to begin with..but if you take the time he WILL help you with it. Just stopp by his office.
Great Teacher! Very easy to understand and taught the course perfectly. I look forward to taking more courses from him.
If i hear another thing about "professionalism" I'm going to shoot myself.
Excellent Professor. Clear, concise, and extremely thorough. If you study, there's no reason you should not do well in this class. I wish he taught more classes.
Very bad teacher. He is not clear at all in class. He seems to be nice at first but many female students find his manners strange. I can't believe somebody on this site rated him so well!!! That is not what most students say about him!
He's very picky when it comes to the programs. He tries his hardest to help you understand all of the material. He will help you if you don't get it. All in all a very good teacher! I would recommend him only if you want to learn C-Programming.
This isn't an extremeley easy class unless you already know a little about programming. However, I would recommend taking Wells because he is very willing to help his students that want to help themselves!
He does the best he can. C is the worst language ever. Gosh. It would be good to learn qbasic or any language before you start this class so not everything will surprise you so much, but c is just quirky and stupid. Take anything else instead.
very hard teacher. we turned in programs with 13 pages, goolsby's classes turned em in with two...If you take this class get rdy to struggle...I pray to god you find some1 with old programs!!!
He was very helpful if you were willing to try. I recommend taking his class. If you don't understand just ask for Help!
Not an easy course, but Professor Wells was always willing to help. I just had to ask. He was very thorough and extremely clear. If you are willing to work, and ask for help when needed, you will not have any problems passing this course.
VERY helpful professor, if you have trouble, don't hesitate to ask. Has respect for students who conduct themselves in a professional manner. The class gets difficult towards the end of the semester, but I definitely recommend him.
Good teacher, but his programs are harder than goolsbey's. You'll know your stuff when you get out of there or you'll have a horrible grade.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life! He never teaches in lecture, he is not helpful at all. He is also a jerk imo. He is always talking about being proffesional but i dont care about that, I just want him to teach the class. I dont understand all these positive ratings for him. I have met no one who likes him.
Excellent Professor! He was so organized. Always willing to help if you ask. The course is tough but if you do the work and ask if you have trouble, you will get a good grade.
Not a very good teacher. All he does in class is make new policy's reguarding food and drinks in class. Never teaches, just hand out worksheets that have nothing to do with what we need on our programs. So I would take Goolsbey at all cost. Good Luck if you cant
Prof Wells is excellent! He's well organized, knows his material, and genuinely concerned about the student. He does not allow cheating so you are rewarded for doing your own work unlike in some of your other courses.
Excellent Professor! I can't say enough good things about Prof. Wells. All the programs and homework prepare you for receiving a very good grade. Ask for help if you get behind or lost, because Prof. Wells' is always willing to help.
I’d take him again if I had the chance. Professor Wells is always helpful, and tries to encourage students with motivation. He truly cares about the students.
Excellent professor—my favorite. I highly recommend him. Very clear lecture handouts, very fair to the students. He gives students lots of chances to do well.
Prof. Wells truly cares about the student. I really enjoyed taking his course. He is well organized and it shows in his lectures and labs. You will know your stuff when the semester is over. Wish he taught more courses or there were more Professors like him.
C Prog. Great professor. Quiz about ever 3 classes, no test. All lecture material avaliable online. All kinds of drops for programs, quizzes, homework. He helps anyone who asks him. Great teacher. Nothing bad to say.
I do not understand how people say professor well is a good teacher when I ask him for help and every time all he did was tell me to send him an email. When I needed help with a program often something that he could help me with in a few minutes all he did was try not to help me and do everything but answer my questions.
Professor Wells is one of the best on the TTU campus. He is always there to help and is very giving of his time. Anyone who says otherwise must be dishonest and lazy.
Professor Wells is great and you will make a good grade if you do the work. Prof. Wells gives the student multiple chances to make a good grade by dropping the lowest grades of quizzes, programs, and homework. There are no exams, just quizzes.
Professor Wells is a wonderful guy! He will help you out, but he will NOT tell you the answer. Those that rate him low are just lazy and pathetic. He is a really great guy, never has anything bad to say about anyone, and really wants everyone to pass! He has TONS of drops and all lecture material is available online. Do the syllabus reading!!
Always goes over things thoroughly. His quizzes are very similar to in class examples so no reason not to do well on them. Programs can be challenging but he is always willing to help and always covers the most difficult parts of the programs in class. As long as you aren't lazy you will do well in this class. Take him!
Prof. Wells is the Best! He is always there to help you, is extremely organized, and truly cares about the students. I wish he taught more classes at the University because I would certainly take him and recommend him to everyone I know. Anyone who has negative comments about Prof. Wells must not be willing to put forth any effort in learning!
by far the best professor ive had. he is a great instructor and is more than willing to give up his personal time to help students. gives lots of chances to make an A and really cares about his students. take him for programming
The strictest prof on campus, expects you make a carbon copy of his program or else you lose points, unclear grading strategy. You can't just walk up to his office and ask a question, you have to email him for appt (have to follow a layout for your letter).I had to do more work for his class than other 4 hour classes. Avoid him if you can.
Prof. Wells is the best in the department. Wish he taught more courses. He truly cares about the student and is always willing to help. He has very clear lecture handouts, is extremely fair and gives lots of chances to do well. I highly recommend him!!!!
Gosh the best prof. TTU has! He has tons of drops, presents his lecture material in a very organized way, and utilizes I-Learn by placing all his lectures, examples of programs, and his policies for how to write programs online. He really goes out of his way to make the course as easy as it possibly can be. He is there to help if you need it.
Lectures are very thorough and extremely organized. Quizzes are very similar to in class examples so there?s no reason to perform poorly on them. Programs can be a little difficult but he always covers the most difficult parts in class and sometimes you have part of the program built if you did the homework.
Highly recommend him. Always there to help. Tons of drops. Lectures, policies, and examples of programs are all online. Programs are a little difficult, but he goes over the hard parts in class.
gives lots of chances to make an A and really cares about his students. great teacher. nothing bad to say. i would take him again for another course if he taught something else!
Definitly recommend him. Always there to help. Plenty of drops to help your grade. Lectures and other needed info are online. Helps out with the harder parts of the programs in class.
I really liked Prof. Wells. He was always there to help when I was not understanding the material. He never made me feel stupid. He is a very kind and generous man. I would definitely take him again if I had the opportunity.
I guess Wells wrote all these good reviews. I have yet to meet someone who thinks he was helpful in class. He will help you if you are an attractive female though. I was always amazed at the level of hotness of his interns and graders. Probably just a quinky-dinky. I dropped him fast and made an A with a real professor.
If you are serious about your education, take him. I really enjoyed his style of teaching and his willingness to help.
excellent instructor. i would definitely take him again and contrary to his critic below, i thought prof. wells was very helpful in both class and during office visits. btw- i'm in no way an "attractive female".
Goes out of his way to make sure you understand the material. C-prog is not an easy language to learn, but if you HONESTLY do your part, you will do great. However, if you have someone else do your work, then you will get what you deserve. So if you are a lazy person, look elsewhere.
Take him. You will not be sorry. He is so helpful and organized! Homework, quizzes, and exams are graded and returned in a very timely manner.
Awesome professor! You must study for this course. I made an A, but it was not without a lot of work. C-programming is rough. Bottomline ? great professor, hard language.
Wells is a great teacher. The best professor I've had at tech. I would recommend him to anyone.
Excellent teacher and great guy! Easy to learn from and very helpful. Best professor I've had.
He drives a Mercedes. Just the kind of guy that these comments would matter to. I agree with the guy or girl that said he inflates his own rating. Can be a real smart-a too, if you ask a question.
Was so not looking forward to taking drawing, but was so glad to hear Prof Wells was teaching the course. He does an awesome job explaining the material. Recommend him!
hes on some kind of power trip it seems like. he seems pretty wise but he doesnt know his own material sometimes. a lot of times students knew the stuff better than he did. hes not hard so its a pretty easy A. if you can get over his thinking hes all that i would recommend him. some things he counts off for seems too particular but i guess its fair
He's awesome. I highly recommend him.
Definitely recommend Prof Wells. He made the course very easy and enjoyable.
I would highly recommend taking Prof. Wells. His teaching skills are superb. All you have to do is show up, listen, do the work, and you make a good grade. If you fall behind, go see him. He was always willing to help.
I took a chance at the time and signed up for Prof. Wells' class. Luck was definitely on my side. I highly recommend him. Get in touch with him the minute you start to fall behind. He was extremely helpful.
I will definitely recommend Professor Wells to my friends and would recommend you take him as well.
Definitely would recommend taking Professor Wells. I'm so enjoying his course. He is a superb teacher!
Professor Wells is a fantastic programming teacher! I had him for C programming and he completely explains it well. Do the programs early and you can get EC. And he drops a lot of grades, easy A if you go to class and work hard on the programs
Would definitely recommend taking Prof. Wells. It's an easy A if you do all your work. Good luck!
Greatest professor ever!
Great professor! He is one of the few profs on campus that treats you like a college student. If you need help he will give it. He does not tolerate incompetence, though. I had him for Fortran 90, and it's a hard class. You just have to attend labs for practice and credit.
Amazing teacher for fortran really helpful and gives tons of extra credit. got an easy a in there
Very helpful when asked. Show up to all of the labs bc that is when you can ask him 1 on 1 questions. Make sure you show up on time!
There is a reason this professor is in basic engineering. He has no business teaching MATLAB. He knew less about it than I did. I took him just because he wasn't Craven and would do it again. He is easy. However, if you want to learn anything you better do it on yourself. Read the book and Google your questions.
Enjoyed taking Prof. Wells' class and having him as a Professor. If you don't do your work then don't expect a good grade. Good Luck.
Loved the course. Prof Wells was so helpful. As for the book- watch out- full of errors. Definitely should take him. If I can take all my ENGR courses with him I will.
In a word- AMAZING. I had him for ENGR1120, but if you have to take any ENGR classes and Professor Wells is to teach the course, then I would definitely take him.
Prof Wells is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is extremely fair, knowledgeable and helpful.
By far the BEST professor. Take him. You won't be disappointed. By the way, he gives tons of drops.
Really nice guy. Realized that the class was only 2 credit hours so the work load was very light and manageable. His tests were very fair. Also tries to apply class content with real-world examples.
Does 3 test, including a final exam, drops your lowest of the 4 and that's your final grade.
Stephen Wells was a great teacher. He cared about how the people in class performed and would give feedback IF ASKED. That last part was important because if you don't ask, it isn't always clear. He only has 3 tests (4 drops the lowest) and the labs are optional but they add points to the final grade (like 0.3 points per lab). Fun class, but hard.
You do not learn anything in his class. Does not care if you can use auto cad or not. Makes tests off the top of his head. Stretches out class. Could learn the same amount from him in about 5 minutes. He does not seem like he knows what he is doing half the time. He is not good with computers.
If you've already had any kind of graphics in high school, you may have an easier time. However, if you are taking for the first time, do not expect this to be enjoyable. Comes off as a "smart-elic" and arrogant, and also makes you feel very stupid if you need help. Honestly, worst teacher I've taken yet. I dreaded going to his class.
Going to the lectures are really helpful and the labs can give you extra credit. I thought he was an excellent teacher and taught the material very clearly.
Great professor. Really cares about what the students are experiencing. This is a 2 hour course and yet most treat it like it is a 5 hour calculus course-not Prof. Wells! He recognizes the course for what it is--a 2 hour credit course crammed with way too much material! Take him if you can; you will not regret it. Easy A if you just do the work
Very difficult course. Definitely would take him again. I think I'm going to get an A out of the course, but I am having to really work for it. Programming is not an easy A, but with Professor Wells at least an A is possible if you attend lectures, practice during labs, and practice outside of class.
He comes off as rude an arrogant at first, but he's not a bad guy. Just a tough grader who tests over things that aren't heavily covered. If you take him, go to him during office hours to see if he will help you with the written portion of the tests. He didn't cover that material much, most was spent on autocad or inventor.
The only thing I learned from him was that a swan is the largest bird that flies and the discovery of milk came from Scandinavia so good luck. Take Craven or his wife if at all possible
Professor Wells is an excellent teacher. His class is fun and lite, but you still learn so much. It is a 2-hour credit course and he understands that. Few test given and lab is not required. Wish there were more like him. If you learn nothing about the subject (and/or fail), it is your own fault.
Easy bc he doesnt care to assign homework or teach much of anything. He tests you on stupid unimportant things he says in class that dont have much to do with important parts of graphics or engineering and those tests then make up 100% of your grade. Still better than Craven. if you want an easy pass and dont care about how high your grade is do it
Prof. Wells is probably my favorite professor I've had. You do have to work for it, but if you pay attention in lecture and practice on your own time or by going to labs (not mandatory) you will not have any problems. He is very willing to work with you and you can tell he cares about his students.
He makes learning fun and easy. If you don't understand something he explains it super clear and works with you until you understand it. Not an easy subject, but a more reasonable class because of Prof. Wells. I love his humor.
Loved the professor, hated the subject. Not a fan of programming, but prof wells made it more enjoyable. Would definitely take him again.
Definitely recommend him.
Take him for summer classes. They are much easier than during regular classes.
Be sure to address him as PROFESSOR Wells or he will call you out. Also, thoroughly read the syllabus. He's a nice guy but has some picky preferences. I recommend sending him a nice email the first week of class and tell him you're excited for the course and ask what you can do to get ahead. He loves that stuff. But the class is an easy A!
Fantastic! Highly recommend.
I liked this professor, however, he only gave a grade for the midterm and the final. Extra credit was optional at the end of the semester if he felt you needed it. The material is learning computer programs and the tests are asking you where the buttons are at. I learned a lot with this professor, but the test did not reflect what I knew at all
Fantastic! I also took him for ENGR1120 and although that was a much harder class I would still take him again if he taught more classes. He likes people to be respectful, but who doesn't. Pay attention, study outside of class, go to him if you have any questions, and you will do well.
This was MATLAB and I do not enjoy programming. However, it's a mandatory course. Go to class, attend labs for extra credit, and do all the assigned homework even though it's not required so you are better prepared for his exams. I would definitely take Prof. Wells again over anyone else. He is at least sympathetic to what you are up against.
Wells is the biggest goofball Ive ever met in my life. Hes so anal about the smallest things and wont even answer a question if it says it in the syllabus. I cannot stand this guy.
It's a 2-hr credit course, but requires more like a 4-hr. Prof Wells understands this. He has the option in his grading where labs are not mandatory if you think you will be ok doing the work on your own. He requires respect and does not like lazy minded people, but I get that. Be respectful, listen, & you will be fine. Definitely the best choice
Definitely take him. Be respectful, ask questions if you don't understand. It is programming, some work will be required. He allows you to decide to attend & participate. Two options for course grade-- from attendance, homework & lab assignments, & exams, OR course grade only from exams. Course grade will be the higher of the 2 options.
Wells was an overall good professor. Attendance was optional depending on the grading path you take. The course grade comes from either the two exams or a combination of the exams, attendance, homework, and labs. Whichever is higher will be your course grade. He's stern on odd things such as how papers are handed out but enjoys cutin up quite a bit
This class is one that you don't really have to do any work except taking tests but I highly recommend actually doing the assignments. It will make the test easier. This class isn't an easy A if you aren't really knowledgeable with MATLAB so you will have to work a little but it's not bad at all.
There are 2 paths to receiving a grade in Prof. Wells' class. If you feel like you know the material then attendance is only required for when test are given. If you feel you need help then attend class, do the work, and if you are respectful then he is willing to answer your questions. Definitely would recommend him over the other choices.
Prof. Wells expects you to be professional, respectful, and to have done some work prior to coming to him for help. If that is not a problem for you then definitely take him for MATLAB if you can.
Horrible professor, did not appreciate that it was a 2-credit class and I was doing more work in here than my 4-credit. Got 100's on all assignments but since the grade is either 66% or 100% test heavy, if you are a bad test-taker, you will not get an A no matter how much effort you put in. Questions are confusing. Overall, do not take if you can.
Easy A if you put in decent effort. Never spent more than 15 minutes in class because I got my homework beforehand. Never went to lab, because they are for if you don't finish in class. 3 open-note tests and 1 is dropped. Never took the third one because the first two were so easy. Also dropped 3 assignments.
Assignments will be graded brutally and there are a lot of them. He gets triggered by the most random things (like typing during class) and the grading system is terrible. At most the homework is worth 33% of the grade and the rest is exams, which would be fine if they were anything like what you learned about in class. They aren't. Stay away!
You're learning a language so this class will take some time, but Prof. Wells explains things very well. Therefore, if you watch his videos and work the problems he gives, then you will do fine on his exams. His last exam during final exam week is optional. I did not have to take this exam freeing me to work on my other courses.
I learned a lot from Professor Wells. He's a caring and fun teacher. Be sure to watch the lecture videos and work the assignments and you should do well. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Wells is a very good instructor and is very fair in his classroom. I very much enjoyed being a part of his course and look forward to potentially having him again.
Professor Wells was a great instructor. I really appreciated his professional approach. He mandated that students follow appropriate etiquette with talking with professors and dealing with problems.
I loved Professor Wells! He expects a sense of professionalism from his students, which is reasonable considering how approachable he is. I took this class for Engineering credit and would highly recommend taking him. He has 2 grading types (2 exams worth 50% each or HW and Exams for 33% each). But he's great at explaining so it's an easy A.
Professor Wells is an awesome teacher and always willing to help!
I give Professor Wells an A+++++ for his teaching. He was very clear, concise, and thorough in presentation and was always willing to talk and help outside of class.
His lectures in class felt rather slow and unnecessary. He ran the class on a flipped lecture method, meaning that the lectures were outside of class. His exams could be confusing at times and the procedures he implemented throughout the course seemed unneeded.
Thorough explanations (explains all concepts as if it's your first time hearing it, even if it isn't); flipped class; amazing person. No surprises; everything is laid out in the syllabus; instructions clear with every lecture. Incredibly lenient and understands it is only a 2-credit class and that students have lives & other classes to deal with
Professor Wells runs a solid class. Flipped lectures work well if you stay on top of the videos. Exams can be tricky, but attending class and utilizing unstuck AI for study prep makes a big difference. Overall, a worthwhile course.
I didn't attend any of his lectures and still got a C. But he legit said you don't have to attend and can look at online lectures. The midterm and final is open note, but when I asked him what to study for he was legit like "ohh Idk." I wouldn't take it again. I prolly just didn't try enough. Don't take the online option!! Bought book for nothing.
Professor Wells is great. I really enjoyed this course and look forward to taking programming with him and any other courses that he teaches.
Worst professor I've ever taken. Too much going on, doesn't teach the course at all, exams are confusing. I printed out 30 pages of notes for an exam and it wasn't helpful in the slightest. You're not allowed to take notes during exam review because he doesn't want you to realize he never taught it.
Professor Wells is a fair professor with minimal homework given. If you do everything he asks you to do, there is no reason you should not get an A or a B. He gives a makeup test if you do not like one of the test scores for the two tests he gives, and his labs are clearly performed because of the prelab videos he puts out.
