Be prepared to devote 100% of your time to this class

such a cool prof! not the easiest (that's for sure). so far the only prof. that haven't made me sleepy eventhough the freakin' class starts at the crack of dawn.

A&P is a tough class, no matter the teacher. Sterling is quirky, fun, & extremely intelligent. He's very clear on what is expected, allows students to write over 2/3rds of tests, has interesting labs, & teaches what is necessary to pass med boards. He doesn't expect students to memorize the entire book, has great notes, & also an EMT. He rocks!!

Awesome teacher! If you laugh at his jokes, he will like you. Make sure you copy his notes word for word because that's where he bases his tests on. I rarely read the text book for this class because all the information is given to you.

Sterling is a Fun and Intelligent teacher who makes the class go by fast. It is a hard class and he can grade hard, but provides you with big things that will be on a test like diagrams or outlines and lets the students make up their own practice test that he uses on his version. Make sure you show up everyday and write his lecture word for word.

Sterling was a great teacher. There is nothing easy about this class, but he is extremely knowledgeable, very fair, approachable and helpful. It is evident that he wants his students to succeed. Write what he tells you to, don't miss class and don't try to take shortcuts.

Awesome teacher. The class is HARD but if you can pass, you can pass anything. Tailors his class to the students, especially helpful if you are entering the nursing program.

I have the utmost respect for this man as a teacher and a human being. His class is hard no doubt, but we are in school to learn and learning is what he'll offer you. If you are weak mentally, he will weed you out. You have to prove to him that you are worth being in his class. Live by this motto, only easy day was yesterday and you'll be fine.

Lets all be honest here. A&P is an EXTREMELY difficult class, no matter who you take. It consumes your life! But at least Sterling makes it super interesting. His lectures are awesome. He tells you exaclty what is expected of you. I drove from Murrieta to Hemet just for this professor. He's worth it!

Sterling is intelligent teacher who knows what he is talking about.He makes letures understandable which makes the class go by fast.Provides you with big things that will be on the test. Students make up a portion of the test, but you still have to study all your notes. Make sure you show up everyday. Class is made up of alot of points.

Very smart teacher... he gives lots of extra credit. final test is outlining from previous lectures.

Sterling is a great teacher. He is extremely knowledable and makes sure you understand all concepts. Lectures are clear with no powerpoint, however, if you are a visual learner this guy is for you. Exams are very clear you know exactly what to expect in each one.

Sterling is just amazing! He is the most interesting teacher I have ever had. This class is difficult but if you do the work you will be rewarded. He truly ROCKS!

Wow! Best teacher I have ever had, but you will work your tail off. Students write the test questions, but he tweaks them and makes them really hard. His labs are great and you will love his lectures. Very funny and nice. Tests can be brutal, but he curves and offers xtra credit

Wow. Took this class over summer. It was extremly difficult, however Sterling amde sure everyone had a good understanding and worked his (and our) butts off, but we learned a lot. Sterling was a very fun and fair teacher, couldn't imagen taking Micro Bio with anyone else.

Wow, I worked my tail off for an A in this classs. Hes a great teacher, and is passionate about what he teaches. Don't miss class, and don't miss a test, or your doomed!

I didn't find Sterling all that difficult. He offers extra credit, and he quizzes and tests you on exactly what he lectures. Attend class, pay attention, and memorize...relatively easy A for a class that is expected to be so difficult.

I highly recommend Sterling. He is very energetic and funny. He is brilliant and will teach you tons. It is a very hard class so be prepared and don't take other hard classes with his.(esp. Micro) It is best to work in study groups for the tests. There is tons of memorizing but after a while it becomes easy to memorize anything. He gives ex credit.

I took Stearlings Ant 101 and i was very interested in learning the body but this class is very hard is not for someone looking for an easy A. You have to study a lot and really memorize it. He does give you extra credit which will help you in the end. He is very helpfull and will work with you. I enjoyed it and look forward to Ant 102.

Sterling is interesting,but not very good if you want to feel prepared going into the medical field.He contradicts the book alot and the students make the test, which is ridiculous.It's irritating that students that got C's (or worse)on their tests still got an A in the class due to all of the extra credit.Not really an incentive to actually learn.

Sterling is by far the best professor I have had. He is extremely passionate about the topic at hand and knows what he is talking about! He made the subject much easier to comprehend than the book itself. Be prepared to work in this class though! He really wants to see his students succeed and makes sure they do so! Wish I could take him again!!!

The best instructor I have ever had for any class. He is very energetic and funny. Definately not an easy A and be sure to pay attention to every word and due dates HE WILL NOT REMIND YOU! He relates things to the real world and to the careers you are working towards. Great instructor I wish he taught 102 at night! Took his class spring of 2010.

One of the best Anatomy teachers! Not easy at all! But if you work hard you can pull off an A. Lots of lab time. Lots of memorization. Test is all on lecture. I hardly opened my book. Very interesting class, I learned so much! Trust me, I?ve taken other anatomy teachers at MSJC, he is the best!

Extremely energetic. Passionate about his craft, and inspiring students. If you're looking for an easy A then take a PE class. Take great notes, (there's no boring powerpoint here!), come to every class and study.

Awesome instructor. If you want an A you must study and go to every class. Tests are hard, but he gives you a practice test that helps a ton. He's very energetic and knows what he's talking about. Lots of quizzes and opportunities to boost your grade between tests.

Highly recommended teacher! He is very helpful and funny!I like his class a lot!! I took A&P 101 and 102 with him and got an A in both, but you really have to study hard. Some people don't like him because he makes you study hard and his test are tricky, but once you know the material is easy cheesy!

NOT an easy A. But if you are going into the medical field you should know this stuff! His tests are very hard & tricky. He is not always very clear. He does give a sample test to study from which does help. Tests are mostly from his lectures so don't miss them & take really good notes or better yet, record them! Great guy tho!

The materials demand you know it.Sterling lectures' and sometimes don't coincide with book,go off his lecture notes! He keeps your interest, NOT BORING! Gives ExCrd so you can boost your grade. Sterling is an awesome professor. Lectures are insightful,and interesting. Doesn't use power point. He's funny, and straight forward. His tests are very tricky... so study your butts off and know your stuff. Great professor... would def recommend

I took him for both A&P 101 and 102. Highly recommend him! His class is fun and he tries to keep you entertained. The course is hard and you must study. About 90% of his tests are off his notes, so take good notes. Be sure to do the extra credit!

Sterling is a great professor! This is a hard course no matter who you take it with. You have to study your butt off. I was failing in the beginning and pulled it together to get an A! Totally worth it. He quizzes almost every class. Don't miss any lectures or lab. Test pretty much all from his lecture notes & his study guides are a great tool.

If u study u will do well uses study guides & notes for tests take good notes & make friends 2 compare thoughts on material Sterling = great professor the material is tough but he is more than willing to help if you ask. He is a passionate, motivating, awesome instructor. This is a difficult class and he talks fast so practice writing really fast!! He doesn't talk over your head. He quizzes alot so be prepared. He is super nice and organized. He is fair with grades but you do have to study your butt off.

BEST instructor ever! As in any other science class you have to study hard. his practice tests are so very similar to the exam. I enjoyed taking his class, he is helpful with everything. if you want to learn and keep the knowledge with you, you have to take Dr. Roulette! His lectures are his tests. I have learned so much on his class.

Sterling is the best Professor I have had and the most fun. He makes learning so easy but you have to study study study to get an A!! Find a study group and take good notes. His tests are from his notes not the book and his practice tests and notes are the only study guides you will need.

Great professor. Anatomy is a difficult course but he helps you through it. Quiz often, 4 tests plus final. 2 practicals. No homework, except study which should be mandatory.

Sterling is the best anatomy teacher! He is so passionate for this subject and wants his students to succeed. You have to study A LOT! Quizzes on every diagram, everything he puts on the board should be written down in your notes. Do the practice tests. If you want to work for an A, you will do fine. He's great!

Hands down the only professor I would recommend for Anatomy and Physiology 101 and 102. He has his own unique style of teaching that will amaze. No walk in the park though. You must study everyday, write all things on board in notes. Study everyday!Doesn't do + or - geades. If you're doing Nursing, this is the professor you want. Study since day1

By far the best teacher I have ever had. You have to study and attend class because test are on his lecture notes. He is full of personality so lectures are fun and very informative. If your looking to learn and not skate by he is the teacher to take.

If you really want to learn, take him! His exams are always based on his notes. Very funny guy. Always there for you including lab. If you want to learn and keep that knowledge on you for years and years you must have to take Sterling. You won't regret it!

The BEST teacher EVER! His lectures are awesome, he also draws pictures for visual learners. He offers extra credit, this is not an easy A you have to work for it. I have an A now and all that is left is the final. He is very helpful and teaches very clearly. No writing assignments, lots of quizzes but never pop. Always gives reviews for midterms.

Sterling is an Amazing A&P professor. He is by far the best professor I've ever had in my life as a student. His lectures are fascinating and incredibly detailed with current information. The powerpoint and his lecture are critical information to be successful in his class. If you really want to learn A&P you must take Sterling. He is fantastic!!!!

I took sterling for anatomy 101. I loved how he wrote on the board. All our tests were taken from our notes. He is tough but cares about you passing the class. There is extra credit offered and he makes class very interesting. He is by far the best teacher i have taken.

I got off to a rough start with Sterling but quickly learned that he wants us all to be successful and prepare us to go into the medical field as much as possible. His lectures are great, but there are quite a few exams. Usually a few each week. He keeps the lectures interesting and somewhat humorous, but takes teaching this class very seriously.

Sterling is a great professor!had him for 101 and 102, work/study hard you can get an A. 102 u will come up with a scientific experiment with biopac, write a paper 5-15 page long, an oral presentation with power point, keep your grades high cus he grades hard on the scientific experiment paper, can drop a whole letter grade in the last 2 weeks

Awesome Professor who truly enjoys teaching. So much information from lectures but Very fair. you Have EARN your grade. Practice quizzes/exams are usually available. Very lenient, will work with you if you have to miss in advance. He's very caring of all his students and makes sure your truly understanding. He is the reason I Love A&P!

Very smart man, he will grow on you! Every class there is an iclicker quiz. Every quiz is based off his PowerPoint unless said so otherwise. If you don't have a good memory, then this class isn't for you. Memorization is important. He helps you whenever you need it. Occasionally gives extra credit if you study for it. Hates to use the book.

The class is passable with only the PowerPoints, but if you want an A and to really understand ANAT for your major, read the text before class. You're not going to learn the body from PowerPoint. iClicker quizes every class--easy to fall behind if you don't study a few days. Get a head start on your Research Project so it doesn't ruin finals!

iClicker quiz thats based on the PowerPoints almost every class (practice tests help a ton). You will have to do a research project with a group 5-15 pages and a 10-15 minute oral presentation on it due at the end of the semester. Very passionate about this class. long lectures but he makes them worthwhile. Tough class but would take him again

I took Sterling for A&P 101 and 102. 101 was easy for me and Sterling always helped me out when I needed it. He lectures a lot and all of his quizzes are based off of his PowerPoints. 102, you have a science experiment to do and you have to write and present it to the class. He gives good feedback. Don't listen to anyone who says he's a bad teacher

Sterling is overall a great professor. His lectures are SO long and can be off topic sometimes and get very boring. He is very smart and knows this subject well but sometimes when you ask questions he isn't that helpful. Big group research project worth a lot of points and he pretty much leaves you to do it alone with no guidance. Start early!

I had Sterling for Anatomy 102 best decision I ever made. He is a great professor he knows what he is teaching if you are not sure about something you ask him questions he is weilling to help you understand. There are quizzez before class starts study in advance don't wait till last minute, and outlines. Lots of points given to help your grade.

I took Anat/Phys 102 this Spring and I couldnt think of a better Professor to teach this subject. Sterlings lectures are a must to attend, as he truly adds passion and humor to it. He is very supportive and helps everybody to understand the heavy material required. He gives loads of chances for you to get a good grade. Stay on top of OUTLINES.

I took Anat-102 during Spring 2019, and it was the most amazing semester! He tries to make all of his students understand the material but also have fun. Theres plenty of EC opportunities and my advice would be to focus on the outlines, diagrams, &SRP. Sterling is like Bill Nye/Mr. Rogers. If he taught another subject I wouldve taken his class :)

Best professor, clear instruction on canvas and in person. I wish I could have taken him for ANAT 101. Has a lot of knowledge and wants his students to learn. I enjoyed all his lectures.
