I took him for Math 251 & 253. He is a good teacher. If you do all the homework then you will get a good grade. He uses scantrons for tests(makes it easier to get a good grade by checking your work) I really liked his class. He is a great help.

hes a pretty nice teacher - but homework HAS to be done! He grades it, and collects it all the time. Lots of homework...
a great and funny teacher!
He is ok. I had to get a $100 calculator and a book that was almost the same. But with that I didn't had to study at all. Just learn how to use the calculator and you'll get an easy A. Lots of homework!.
First of all you do have to buy a calculator (TI-83-or TI-83Plus)but that is what makes the class easier... some equations to learn, mostly use calculator. Assigns alot of homework but well worth it to do...lifts your grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is a really great teacher and makes math fairly easy. Beleive it or not his class was one of my best classes at Saddleback and I am not a math person! Prof. Alemansour is a really intellegent man and the fact that he is pro calculator is great!
This teacher is pretty good. He's a nice person with a sense of humor. He is clear in his instruction, but this is a very hard class and you MUST do lots of work on your own. Important to do all the homework and turn it in.
Sooooooooo boring. He's an ok teacher. He stumbles over his words and has trouble thinking through his own directions at times. It might be because there are some "slow" people in the class but it feels like it takes forever to cover a simple concept.

It was a calculator class, he would spend an hour teaching us how not to use the formula then 5 minutes teaching us how to use the calculator. If you use the formula on the test, you get the wrong answer. Get on his bad side and there goes your participation
take this class. it sucks to take math anyways but his structure is cool, and he lets you know exactly what is needed to pass the class
do your homework and you'll pass this class no prob.
He is very easy, and helps you if you have any question. He gives HMWK but their really helpful for the test. His tests are only 25-30 questions long. and the final is 50 question. He is also very funny. He is one of the best teacher in SB college.
Great professor. Never got math at ALL before walking into his class. Lots of HW but easy class. Always gives oppertunity for score improvement if you do HW and attend class. I thought he was brilliant. I want him to be my math teacher forever.
he's nice
hw plan is given at beginning of semester, study for tests, negotiate hw scores cuz he'll usually give u more points if u approach him...if u do all hw and get at least 36/40 on all hw then he'll bump up your grade at the end of the semester...he likes participation, do your best and if you don't do well on a test 90% of the next one will replace i
The BEST! I never got math until I took his class. He expects you to do the work and show up but if you participate he will give you help and you will get a decent grade.
Best professor I ever had and I did not even get an A in his class.
If you don't ask questions in class during discussion, or show up he'll drop your grade. If he see's you improving on each test, he'll raise your grade.
great in class lectures but tests are stupid, covers stuff we never discussed in class and was very limited - 28 out of 35 ppl got F or D. whack!!!
Math is never going to be easy. Especially if your like me and math is just not your thing. Alemansour was an okay teacher, he goes at a good speed and always always always answers any questions. Thuroughly goes over hw. And has a helpful method, where he rounds your grade up according to your previous test score. Take him if Perez gets full !
Best math teacher I ever had. I learned so much from this class. He is tough but fair. He knows his stuff and presents them very well. You have to have time to do all that HW though.
well if it tells you anything more than half of his class will fail - his tests are whack and he is very arrogant and doesnt seem to care that he is an ineffective teacher
He is a good instructor. I was a horrible at Math until I took his class, and now I kind of enjoy it. If you keep up with the homework and show up for class, you will get a good grade. It is that simple. He moves through things quickly so it is helpful to look over the chapter BEFORE class.
great teacher does alot of examples so you can really unserstand the problems test arent too bad and if you do all your hw it helps raise your test scores, not a math person but he made it very clear and easy to understand take him if you can!!!
He's a great teacher, when he gives us the class review he explains everything, so everybody has all the necessary information. He is the BEST!!!!
Do your homework neatly and come to class prepared to ask questions and he will know that you are eager to learn. He is a kind man and has an understanding that not everyone "gets" math. I would highly recommend taking his class.
He gives soo much homework and at the end only collects 3 random assignments. he's kinda hard to understand.i dnt reccomend this teacher!!!!
He is very organized, clear, experienced, but tough. I learned a lot in his class. Participate in class so he knows that you are interested.
I never worked so hard for any class. He is the best math teacher I ever had. He knows his stuff and pounds it into you. I can honestly say now that I like stats.
He's a wonderful guy, not the best teacher. It always seemed we'd run out of time and would have to teach ourselves how to do difficult Stats problems. The *Level 5 Easy Status* is lying to you. He is helpful and willing to answer any questions, but be prepared to work hard every single second you get to nail that good grade.
Not an easy class. Do the homework and do it neatly. Take thorough notes and really pay attention. Participate because you'll lose points if you don't. I studied hard, did the homework, went to class, and got an A. A good portion of the class failed, but if you study and pay attention and you'll be fine.
Professor Alemansour is a dedicated instructor with an amazing teaching ability. Your attendance and true participation will definitely help your grade. Homework is a must and will affect your grade. He is a fair grader. I never thought I would say this; I love Statistics in every level after taking his class. Put in the work and you get an "A"
just awful. at the time i dropped there wasn't a single A in the entire class, and 3/4ths of the class had Ds or Fs. Tests are 'tricky' and he only collects three hw out of the # you do at the end of each section.
As long as you do the homework, you'll be fine. Tests are similar to the homework, plus if you get an 80% or better on the homework, he'll increase a previous test grade with 90% of the next test grade. I went from having an F on one test to having an 81. Overall, I thought he was really nice and helpful!
What I loved most about Prof. Alemansour's class is that he cares to explain the real-life meaning behind what he teaches. If you?re concerned about grading, I personally skipped the entire 1st HW packet and got a D on the 1st test (being an idiot) but I ended up with a B in the class. You can too. I will miss waking up to Statistics every week.
One of the best math teachers Ive ever had. Very clear, teaches you what you need to know, gives you helpful shortcuts and ways to remember things. Took time to answer everyones questions. Actually cared about the students he was teaching. Very fair. Grading system makes it very hard to not pass. You can tell he wants you to succeed.
Such an easy grader. He's very helpful and nice and definitely wants you to succeed. I would definitely recommend him!
I don't know why people are saying he gave a ton of homework... It really wasn't that bad at all, maybe 10 questions per section MAX. It definitely helped with the tests and made sure you were prepared, and it's always good to have homework in a math class so you have something to fall back on just incase you fail a test.
This teacher is great! He explains realy well and willing to answer all the questions. He really is vry helpful. He answers all your questions one by one and does not stop untill the things are clear. I certainly would recommend him.
Very good professor! Highly recommend him; he reviews all the basic math you need without any confusion at all. Take his class!
I haven't sat in a math class in over 30yrs. Was never really good at it. Prof. teaching style is very easy to comprenend and sometimes quite humorous. Lots of homework in this class, so come prepared to do the work and put the time in if you want a good grade.
One of the best teachers I ever had. He is knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. I recommend him to all my friends. I can honestly say that I am not afraid of math anymore.
This professor was very helpful and gave me a boost of confidence in my current math skills. It was intimidating at first because of the amount of years I had been away from school, but he made it easy to understand and was helpful in giving us examples in how to look at the math we were learning. Good sense of humor. I would recommend him.
He doesn't teach!! Period, opens book, tells you solve x problem and expects answers and for us to know everything before hand, excuse me, but I'm taking the class cuz I want to learn the subject. Just dropped the summer class cuz HW is overwhelming if you struggle on the subject. Do not recommend!! Professors should teach!!
I'm back to school after 25+ years for second degree. I took this class before as an audit just to see what's up. Took Almensr for summer for grade. Teaching style is very easy going. You don't feel weird about asking dumb question. I prefer his style to previous teacher.
What a class! I will never take summer class again. Great teacher. Very clear and straight forward. Lots and lots of hw. I hate to say it but it was beginning to become fun towards the end. Strong background is a must or else you will struggle. I recommend him to all my friends.
Professor very interested in class. Very helpful and engaged. Best summer class yet.
Awesome teacher. He explains well and is very helpful if you ask for help!!!
Professor is helpful and stresses how if you complete all your homework you will most likely pass his class. Test were difficult, and stats is not very easy so I was still drowning the entire semester
Best math teacher to set foot in a college. I recommend anybody who has to take Math to take him as a teacher at least once. He separates himself from all the other teachers. I don't have to list why, just take him and you'll understand.
I havent taken math in years! So coming into this class I was nervous. Hes one of my favorite math teachers!! Great teacher and explains things well and clear. Math was never my best and im so happy I took this class. Just do the homework which shouldnt be hard cause your in COLLEGE and are expected to do work every now and then.
I suck at math, hence why I'm in math 251, but this teacher explains it really well! He knows what hes talking about and will always help you. Homework is only due on the day of the test so you have a lot of time! Just make sure not to wait until the last minute, the homework actually helps a lot if you do it when its assigned!
He is pretty helpful. He explains things well. Make sure you do your homework because he collects random assignments on the day of the test and doing your hw will bump up your test score. Don't be afraid to ask stupid questions, he'll answer all of them and won't make you feel dumb.
Excellent teacher. Very clear. Great point system to improve after each test. Extra points for homework & participation. Took him for 253 and paid him to tutor me through Math 7. Passed all class first after being out of school 38 years.
A brutal summer class but passed because of this teacher. He's an excellent teacher. Very clear. Great point system to improve after each test. Extra points for homework & participation. I paid him to tutor me through Math 7.
He is a wonderful teacher! I'm already half way through the semester with him and he is amazing. He assigns lots of hw which helps you a ton on your grade. And honestly it helps too when you have to take his test. The test is about 35 questions. Take him he's worth it!
Decent teacher. Clear and generally concise, but frequently doesn't seem to understand why his students don't understand something, and will move on rather than explain. His grading system seems straightforward, but is much stricter and less uniform than apparent. One could do worse, but I would not recommend taking him if you are a slow learner.
She gave many and very clear examples while going over all types of problems. She also gave many different ways to solve problems so you could choose the one that worked best. Her tests are graded for work more than answer which is very useful. There was a lot of book work but she was a fabulous teacher and I would completely recommend her
He is a demanding teacher, and expects a lot of effort from his students. However, he goes above and beyond his role as a teacher in not only teaching, but preparing students with the knowledge they need to do well in his class. Took math 253 in a condensed summer school class, without having taken 251. I wish all teachers were like this.
The easiest teacher ever! Easy A if you do the homework. He's so patient and helpful that he even answers the most stupidest questions students asks. If you can't get at least a B in his class then you should go check yourself..
not helpful great and amazing person but confusing and couldnt understand him very well
Go to class, Do homework….It does demand lots of time, but the practice prepares you for an A. Prof. Alemansour is an excellent teacher. He answers all questions and explains concepts clearly. He's very patient. He prepares you to succeed.
I took his class over Summer and I can tell you that I'm not a morning person and I am now in his MATH253 class at 7:30a.m. because he is such a great Math teacher! Honestly, he is the BEST Math teacher I have ever had! He knows how to break things down into every day concepts to help learn and remember how to apply the formulas.
Not a great class for students who learn differently. Basically you teach yourself. Class time is spent working out problems you have no clue how to work since he didn't explain it to begin with. Homework counts towards your test grade so make sure to do it and all of it. He checks and docks if not complete. Barely squeaked by. Avoid!
Prof. A is the BEST! This is my 2nd class with him…He's very patient, explains concepts very clearly. Ask ?'s…never a dumb question, prepares you to succeed. Take ALL notes he writes on board. He thoroughly goes over problems in homework that you don't understand. Be prepared for lots of homework, which will prepare you for exam…practice=success.
Prof A is awesome! He explains things clearly, helps you when you have difficult. LOTS of homework, do it..it helps your grade & test grades. He is very fair and patient. This was my second class with Prof A., I wish he were teaching my next class. I highly recommend him!
Professor Alemansour is the type of math teacher any student should want. He is able to teach in a way that is comprehendible to almost anyone. I was never the best when it came to math.. Actually this was the first class in over 8 years... He did an awesome job.. and it was a summer class! Do the homework, take the test, pass the class. #Boom
Not very helpful. Tries to squeeze as much as he can in one class and that's not the best idea since math is the most failed and most dropped class on the campus. If you answer his question, sometimes he doesn't let you know if its wrong or right. has too many students to do his job right. part time at 2 schools and owns a tutoring school...
His lectures are confusing. He does it the Euro way and not the way we were taught in the States. It's different and the whole class was pretty much confused except for those that already know Algebra.
Professor Alemansour, really takes his time to describe the break down of any problem. Homework is all extra credit, but should follow through with it because extra credit is a big part of your grade. His grading scale is really fair as well. I am definetly taking him again.
Best math teacher I have ever had. He is funny, smart, and makes the material easy to understand. too bad he is not teaching the next class.
He's a wonderful professor. I'm myself not a fan of Math but I passed his class. His grading scale is excellent. But I would do the homework if you want to pass his class. Each assignment sheets are worth 40 points. He's very fair about his rules in the class and also does reviews during test days. I would take him again.
He's a good teacher, just pay attention and do all of the work and you'll be fine.
I dislike math, but loved taking Professor Alemansour. He teaches by doing the textbook examples on the board, and you will pick up the concepts easily if you follow along. Pretty decent amount of homework. Does not post grades often. I found him to be hilarious and very helpful. Take him!
Math is not a strong subject for me. Great teacher. wants class participation. Encourages lots of questions-Ask Ask Ask he will answer them, no matter how dumb it may be. He wants you to understand the subject. Math is a hard subject for me. Went from the F group to my Final as a C. Woo Hoo ! yeah. Lots of Homework. Do homework. U will Pass.
This guy is the worst math teacher Idk how he got a job at it. Horrible accent can't understand a thing. Lecture has 0 correlation for what is on the test. 14 withdraws,11 F's, 2 A's and says he has never had that before ever!!!!!! And I wondered why but now I understand.
Best math teacher I ever had. When he explains you just understand. He makes you work hard though. He wants class participation so speak up. He is patient and i think very funny. I will more classes with him if I could.
great lectures, he takes the time to explain the material, and will answer any question you may have.
Listen, I took professors class for math 351 and 353. If you struggled with math all your life like how I did, this professor is the holy grail. He will explain until you understand and is very caring. He does assign a lot of homework, but its worth it because it raises your test scores if you complete it, making it impossible to fail!
He teaches so well and makes sure you understand what hes teaching. He always asks the class if they have any questions. The only downside is that there is a lot of homework and its all online. The homeworks are graded for points so if you want a good score you have to get the answers on homework correct. All his tests are multiple choice :)
Do not expect an A in the class. prof teaches out of the textbook, but homework is out of another textbook you dont even have access to and the tests are from the text book he has. if u work hard u can pull out a B. The tests are nearly impossible to get higher than a B. glhf
Professor Alemansour was an amazing teacher for Math 351. do all of your homework and you'll do well on your exams. exams were not difficult if you paid attention in class and took good notes. He was excellent at explaining I don't know why people are complaining about his accent he did well. I recommend him he was awesome.
Probably the worst Math Professor I have ever taken so far.
I hadn't done any type of algebra in 20 years so I was extremely nervous. I'm so thankful for Prof. A. because I learned alot from him. He explains rules & terms so you can understand them (bank account is an example) There's alot of HW assigned, but that helps u understand how to do the problems. Don't miss class! I'll take him again for math
The professor was not terrible. You can tell he enjoys teaching math, but only to people who actually understand it. His patience his very short when you cannot grasp a concept. More than half of the class was failing desperately failing and motivation was easily lost on both sides (class and professor). No calculator and lots of homework.
So i had to work my asymptote to pass this calculus course. I didnt take calculus in highschool so i pretty much had to learn on my own since no study guides are given. Beware of popquizzes, lectures are fastpaced but his tests are not hard. Make sure you watch youtube videos (organic chemistry tutor) lol before his class. My grades improved.
Loved him. When he teaches you just understand. He makes you work hard but I needed that. He asks lots of questions in class and expects you to answer so participate as much as you can.
Disappointing to say least. Class was cancelled often for our class and the lectures were very unorganized. Prof didnt seem too knowledgeable of the material which was worrisome. He was a nice guy who cared, but he couldnt articulate material to the students. I ended up dropping and others as well. I suggest taking a different Professor.
Loved this class. I was worried to come back to math after so many years. Prof A was very helpful, answered all the questions. He is very demanding so be prepared to participate. Honestly, if you do the hw and understand the lectures, you will have no problems passing this class.
Do not take his class if math is not your thing. He is not undertsanding and unaproachable. He is not trying to help the students pass. Hated his class and barely passed even though I have all A's in my other classes.
This was probably the worst class I have ever taken. This professor is SO inconsiderate and not very helpful. He would get angry at students for asking questions. Also he makes you do SO much homework but only collects about 4 assignments. If you like Sensitive realistic professors don't take this class.
In lecture I often felt he didnt even know what he was teaching. His exams had a class average of around 50. Im really good at math and struggled to even get a B. I would never recommend him. He is very rude to the students who ask questions or needed extra help (even in front of all the other students which is unprofessional). Run far from him.
This had been one of the toughest and worst math classes I have ever taken. Teacher rushes through lectures and takes few questions. He also grades very specifically, even on homework ! I have lost probably a few years of my life because of this class. Save yourself the pain.
Unorganized lectures, rushes through lectures multiple times. Does not answer emails and won't answer student questions. Class average on test are low. Even the top students do poorly
Unorganized! Doesnt respond to emails. Posts lecture videos late.
horrible. I was in the class for two weeks, he has yet to respond to 4 of my emails, his syllabus says the class isn't mandatory so I watched videos recorded because they were more timely for me, but he gave me absences. His syllabus says due dates for homework but he collects early and he never teaches things that are in the homework. dropped fast
He does not explain things well and throughly. Students are constantly correcting him. He picks and chooses what he wants to grade, only two assignments at the very beginning of the semester and then the midterm which is 30% of your grade. He is a kind man, but you might as well teach yourself this course.
Can somehow go over 2 chapters , taking the whole class period yet really not teaching it. He isnt very open to questions and the lack of assignments that are actually graded means you either need a perfect score on everything or to do super well on the tests. This could be done, if he actually taught you the lessons to complete the test.
he only grades a couple of the two dozen units you have to do homework for, and on random days. avoid
