Great teacher, semi distracting b/c he's so cute. Highly recommended
Very interesting, always well prepared, intelligent and kind.

He's a great teacher who has great knowledge of the course he teaches. He's funny and gives great examples, so learning becomes easy. It's just a matter of studying his notes, which is mostly what is used for tests.
He's a great teacher. He does use really good examples and he keeps class interesting. He's cool with the students. He's a total hottie, and has gorgeous eyes.
So nice...Funny...Very entertaining!!
Great Professor. Sad to leave his class. Much, if not most of his test are based on lecture notes. One the best professor I've had at GCC.
steve is awesome. totally funny and interesting. makes sure everyone understands before moving on. loved him, best teacher yet!

Yup im a have to agree with everyone else, very sad to leave his class. He has to definitly be one of the top ten professors at GCC.
Steve is a great teacher! I was nervous about philosophy, but he made it fun and interesting. He's a very cool guy - laid back, but with very structured lectures, so the best of both worlds. One of the best teachers I've had at GCC.
Bie is the most fun teacher you will have ever he is an easy grader a cool guy gives an examples that are impossible not to understand and classes pass so fast that you want to sit for an extra one, take his class he is one of the best GCC proffessors
Good teacher. His exams are based on notes/lecture, so if you're not the type who likes open lecture, then this aint the class for you. His lectures are fast-paced, so take good notes. It's not an easy A, but definately worthwhile.
I have no idea why students give this guy such a great rating, he's by far the worst teacher I've had at GCC if not ever in my life. His lectures are unorganized and his handwriting looks like he's writing in Chinese. Plus, he's boring as hell!
way overrated by other students
his multiple choice tests are kind of tricky...and if they are essay than you have to learn soo much...orelse he is entertaining and not too boring
One of the best instructors I have ever came across. He combines passion, knowledge, and humor into what are mostly interesting lectures.
Steve is an intelligent and one of a kind professor; One of the best I've encountered. Take very good notes in class because your tests will rely on them only.
Steve's class is very fun. Although his writing is really bad, he makes an effort to improve it. He also stares into space a LOT. His tests are totally based on the notes, so passing his class isn't too easy, but can be done.

Well, any of you losers who think Steve is a bad Prof. probably just failed his class or didn't understand the material. I bet you really felt bad when you realized just how stupid you were. Remember, "Separate the men from the boys." Thanks St
easy class...but when essay tests, than you have to study a lot...easy B/maybe A
Bie is funny, witty, and intelligent. Like most teachers of the social sciences... hes not very organized (course material)... but his lectures are clear and he doesn't move on until he's certain everyones got the material. Just study his notes.
He's kinda hot for a middle aged guy. He's a great teacher. He's really funny & he doesn't talk like some old geezer, he talks to you like he would talk to anyone else. He's very clear & gets straigt to the point. Everything's based on his notes.
Great class. One of my favorites out of 180 units. This is one I will remember.
Awesome class but I failed because I wasn't paying attention! Had to drop. 1st test is midterm! oops, needs to give an example test so we know what to expect!
Take my word for it...TAKE HIS CLASS. It will change your view on professors and education in general. Seriously, he makes you anticipate his class. It's weird. Even if you don't need the units, lol, take his frikin class please. And he's verry cute!
WOW. I took Steve's class the first semester he taught at GCC and loved it. He is amazing as a teacher and such a nice guy. His class was so great...I just got my BA in philosophy thanks to him...very inspiring. He really loves philosphy.
Let just say that 50% in class is a C
Can I just say that he rocks!!! He makes the class interesting... very opinionated but rightfully so because he's so intelligent. I loved the sarcasm! His obsession with KISS was too cool for words. Overall a funny, well educated, witty guy. I highly recommend his class to those who are interested
This is a really easy class. Just take good notes because his tests are all based on the lectures. He even gives you questions for the readings which are on the tests. It's also very interesting. I learned alot from this class.
I wonder how he can teach a course in Logic if he exhibits difficulty in dealing with fallacies. His tests were not objective. He grades a student's work on his own subjective opinion, thus making himself inconsistent with what he tries to teach. If you want to spend a term of bufoonery, take him
your tipical narrow-minded parody of a Philosophy instructor who measures his students motivated by his limited stereotypic convictions. Lack of sophistication and inability to differentiate the imporatnt from the inessential. Steve and the subject of Philosophy form a profound oxymoron.
Good person but not a quality teacher when it comes to Logic instruction. Reluctant to immediately acknowledge students with questions during class. Makes politically incorrect statements when referring to females - "chicks," "blondie," etc. Overall, easy class if you're willing to do the work.
A lot of reading and memorizing but his quiz and midterm questions are straight from the lecture notes and homework questions he assigns. You have to do all the reading and go over your notes. He is a really funny guy, he cracks a lot of big **** jokes. A lot of guys in my class loved his class.
He might be the most awesome individual, but he is the worst teacher. He is soooo unorganized that it drives me crazy. From his lectures you cannot tell what is important and what is not and this makes his quizes hard. Talks a lot. If you get bored easily-like me-he is not for you. Cool guy, thougth
pilo101 and steve changed my life thoroughly.u've got to take this class even if u dont need it.it's gonna help u in ur life A LOT.i wish they had 100 similar classed w/ the same teacher.i woulda taken em all. it just answers questions that u've carried w/ u all ur life and it opens ur mind.117 is slightly dry but u cant blame steve.
Besides the fact that he's hot, he makes his class enjoyable. He's very passionate about his topics and he is not boring. Pay attention in class, take lots of notes and you'll be fine. Unlike other teachers, he makes note taking easy. He writes everything on the board (that was very helpfull for me. I learned alot and enjoyed the experience.

i took 101 and 117 w/ steve. i loved the 101, and the 117 was k(easy but not as fascinating as the 101) so for the ppl that took 120 w/ steve, could u tell about the class a lil bit.
Awesome teacher. Loves to teach and it shows. Very challenging and at times tough class though I learned alot in his class and would definitely take him again. I got an A though I had to work hard for it. Mr Bie is one of the top 5 teachers at GCC. I have nothing but praise for such a teacher. Thank you for the learning experience Mr. Bie.
Awesome Awesome guy. Cracks jokes, makes you laugh, and seriously brightens up your day. He intelligent, yet very passionate about his opinions. Don't worry about this class. Come, take notes, read a bit from the book, and you'll get an A. Even if your not interested, just take the class. It'll make you a happier person. Hes hot too!
Steve is a good guy who runs an easy-going, even lax classroom. He bases the grades in this class on 4 quizzes (with the lowest grade dropped), a midterm, and a final - all reviewed extensively in class. He's very sweet and pretty cute too, with his goofy sense of humor and Tennessee accent. Always willing to talk after class to help students.
Thaking Steve's class got me into philosophy, he's a great teacher and even better philosopher. Taking his class changed my life, he's responsible for me changing my major to philosophy. Take his class and you'll want to let your hair grow long, he's that cool.
i took 2 classes with him 101 and 117, he is EZ going and fun but that doesn't mean it's an easy class. b/c most students take him b/c they think think they can get A w/o studying. it requires alot of reading and studying in order to get A or B in his class. He also changed my life and they of thinking. take him !
OMG! This teachers is AWESOME i tell ya! he's the best.not an easy class but its not bad either. he's very funny and explains everything clearly. i found this class to be very interesting and fun b/c he's very funny ..i loved his examples! im going to miss da class :(
Mr. Bie was soo great! Anyone who says he wasn't obviously got a bad grade in the class or just didn't try hard enough. He is interesting and he makes you want to learn, which is a rare quaility these days with teachers.
Best teacher I've ever had. Not just at GCC but in my entire life. I never thought i would enjoy philosophy, but I did. I definately recommend this teacher!!!
At first I hated the guy but he grew on me. I ended up liking the class very much and have a clear sense of what philosophy and the great thinkers are all about. Hes very funny and is willing to be in the study group! He made Philo very fun.
Very cool teacher... sorta hard, but take detailed notes (copy everything from the board) and study the notes really well and you'll be fine on the quizzes and tests. He makes you study, but he makes lectures interesting and he's a fun teacher. Realistic about his expectations, too. Definitely take him if you want a fun philosophy class. :)

HE IS SO CUTE AND HOT. HIS CLASS IS FULL OF ENERGY. YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED AND HE WILL MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT LIFE AND PHILOSOPHY. TAKE NOTES AND READ WHAT HE ASSIGNS TO YOU. HE HELPS YOU REVIEW BEFORE EVERY EXAM. VERY HELPFUL. I LOVE HIM!!! I ILL TAKE PHIL 117 IN SPRING, TOO.
What an awesome guy. Cusses and tells a lot of funny stories. Really gets you thinking about stuff and makes very confusing philosophies palpable and fun. I can't say enough about him. If you take a philosophy class, he's your dude. Great notes and NO HW.
He is a great guy. He is always there for any questions you might have. This is really the first class in this school that I never fell asleep in, he has tons of energy and says the funniest things that no other teacher would ever say. He is great, you wont be bored.
Very good professor. I would advise everyone who wants to have fun in a philosophy class take him.
Steve is AWESOME! He is THE BEST Philosophy teacher EVER! His lectures are so interesting and fun where you won't want to miss a single class. There is no h/w and he gives 4 quizes(drops lowest quiz), a midterm, and a final. I totally recommend him. I LOVE YOU, STEVE! Ohh and he's a cutie too! =)~

He tries to hard to be cool. He doesnt take roll, he could care less about the students showing up. His quizes are only out of 10 points so if you miss 4 you`ll get a D. The midterm and the final are full of essay questions. In the beginning of the course he said that 85-100 is an A and a 75-85 is a B but he didn`t keep his word. He is a clown
Very smart and funny guy. thanx to him i now love philosophy and i would recomend this class to anyone. class is very easy, fun, and fullfilling.
weirdo!
good teacher
he is a great teacher. make sure you read the book and his notes, you'll be finee
He is seriously the BEST teacher ever! He made philosophy soo interesting and educational that you kept wanting to know more and would never want to miss class. He uses dirty jokes/examples sometimes but hes soo funny that u cant take it offensively. Assigns very little reading and it's soo interesting that you wont mind at all. Easy A!
He is one of the best teachers i've had. He is very interesting and fun. Likes to say jokes and makes the class pass by soon. Very understanding and easy on quizes and tests. There is alot of confusion in the work but he gives good examples for you to understand it. A great class to take. Easy A or B
He is a funny and outgoing professor. Will always have you interested in the material. The test are pretty easy too. Great professor!
WOW! Let's just say he is the cutest thing. Funny, Witty, Talented, etc. His teaching is so simple that you would have to be brain dead not to get at least a B. He lectures (more like performs) and you take a quiz every three weeks.. BEST TEACHER! Plus, no homework.
I LOVE this teacher!! He seriously rules. The class was really interesting, and Steve Bie is so funny. I would totally recommend him-I was never bored in his class and I learned alot.
An outgoing person who makes classes fun. My only gripe is that lectures have very little to do with what's in the book. For all intents and purposes, the book is useless as preparatory material for tests and quizzes unless specific section(s) are outlined by instructor. Miss a single lecture and you're screwed. Notwithstanding, Steve is great. A+
awesome take him ull luv philo after...hes cute and funny. i wanna take his class every year great guy
THE BEST TEACHER AT GCC. Very easy class. Just write down whatever he writes on the board and study them for the quizes and you'll get A. He is very funny and makes his lecutes very interesting. He really makes u think about things and you learn a lot from his lectures. I recommend him for 10000%. TAKE HIM AND YOU WON'T REGRET.
Perhaps the most engaging lecturer at GCC. Assigns no homework. Tends to (entertainingly) digress and (unnecessarily) review often so try to take longer class sessions if possible (e.g., an hour and a half two days a week instead of one hour three days a week) to perhaps minimize the amount of review you have to sit through.
The best professor at GCC. I took philo 101 during the summer session (2 hrs/5 days a week) and i never missed class. His class was so interesting and clear..he's the best professor ever...
Professor B was a great professor. I had his logic class over the summer and I thought I was going to bomb, but he was very clear and explained things very well. Just study the exercises at the end of the chapters for the tests, and you will do fine. No homework, but must keep up with the material.
i hope other teachers read these comments and take notes from him in how to teach a class because honestly he is the best teacher everrrr!! hes not easy but boy can he teach! i learned alot in his class and time went by so fast! now if only there were teachers like him who taught math. :(
I didn't like philosophy at all before taking this class and now I love it! He is so fun, telling real stories about his life and he is a great teacher! You'll learn a lot and in a fun way! He has 4 quizzes (only three count) and two tests. They are pretty straight forward but you'll need to study for them. You don't need to buy a textbookTake him!
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! TAKE HIM AND YOU WILL NEVER REGRET. HE'S VERY HONEST, FUN AND MOST IMPORTANT FAIR TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD.
I seriously love this teacher! He can't possibly get any clearer as to what to expect on his quizes and tests. He's awesome and is so incredibly interesting! Trust me you won't get bored. He has the most hilarious examples and stories to tell. As long as you take good notes and read them once in a while, you'll get the A. I love him.
Mr Bie is in fact a rockstar! He makes class fun with his humor and stories. Most importantly, he really helps you understand the material. I highly recommend taking him. Rock on Steven Bie!!!
this was the greatest class ever. prof bie is one of the best teachers at gcc. hes very nice and funny and chill. most teachers should be like him. very interesting class. just take notes n study ur notes for the 4 quizzes n ur set. n there are two midterms but if you study notes ull ace them.
he is the best teacher that i've had. you don't need to use the book. pay attention and take notes and you'll get an A. he is great.
Super informative AND super easy--quite an achievement. Wholly entertaining and encouraging. Pretends this is a real college and leaves attendance up to the student...imagine that. No textbook.
A great teacher, even though he does not take roll, you want to show up to the class and learn about so many new things...he is very informative and a very cool class...you don't get bored....you learn a lot from him... you can get an easy A, at the same time you will gain so much knowledge about philosophy that you won't believe it yourself...
effing brilliant teacher. best i've ever had.
Greatest Teacher in the world!
he is a wonderful teacher and he makes the class interesting. The lectures are boring sometimes but he tries to make it interesting. Istrongly recommend you to take his class if you want to pass phil.101 with a good grade. and by the way he talks a lot about his 6 mnth old daughter.. he is the best of the best.
Such a great professor! Very engaing lectures with the students. The class can get boring at times, but its not his fault but the material. He makes the class fun by telling jokes and relating stores to his life. Very possible for a A or B in the class. Definetly a teacher you must take at GCC
He's cool. The class was pretty boring all semester long. But he's chill. Randel Parker I think is the best Phil prof hands down, but Bie's chill and pretty easy too.
Steve is the best teacher i have ever had, he explains so welllll that even the stupid person will get it,funny n easy class, cares abt his students,u will never regret of taking his class!!!!! n tests are what he teachs u , nothing trickyyyy :) u r the besttt Steve
This man is DEEElicious. VERY easy on the eyes, great personality. You don't need a textbook, everything is online. His tests are based on his lectures, but he tells you what's going to be on every quiz. I was already interested in philosophy before this class, but he made it so interesting that I didn't mind showing up everyday. ILOVEYOUSTEVE!
best teacher alive!!!! makes u wanna go to class every goddam day! i love him!
steve is the tighest teacher i've had in any class, college or high school. he makes the class fun, interesting, and easy. im already planning on taking his ancient philo class. dont need a book, its all online. the tests and all that are easy if you read the notes and readings. CHILL ASS CLASS FOR SURE!!
This teacher is the best, he is so easy and fun that I took him twice. I took him for Phil.101 and Phil.117.His tests were ac****alative, but he wasn't picky regarding what you wrote.Just pay very good attention to lectures, take few notes, and enjoy it. He usually concentrates the most on the things that are going to be on the tests.

great teacher & wonderful person ...
ppl love him cuz he's so chill. I agree, as a person, he's awesome. As a professor, well most of his answers start with uh...umm...weeell. Prof. R.Parker is more informative and more chill, & the funniest guy ever. Prof. M.Rooney is very informative (smart) but is really hard. You choose. My vote is with Parker.
Also took 120. Very chill guy, no textbook, all reading is online (it's easy trust me) crystal clear notes in class...take em and ull do fine. anything in the notes is fair game on a test...and their not too hard...u get the concept, then u get the class..very fun, unbiased, enjoys instigating thoughts in students, ull learn a lot about urself
one word PASSIONATE! great class; good lectures, and a good man. very interesting and tests are based on lectures. loved his class.. it seriously makes you think...we can talk about PLATO any day =]
Steve is hilarious! He makes the class so much fun. The stories he tells about his life always relates to what he's lecturing. You don't need a book. Very easy class. Just take notes and pass the class!! THANKS STEVE BIE!
The Best period work hard and take notes you will be fine.
this guy is one of the coolest teachers in GCC. i did not even intend to take it but ended up taking his class at the last minute. i took him for 101 and i intend to take him for another class. in all he's very helpful and yeah his answers are mostly like " .... UMMM... UHHHH.... AAHH" but it was fun. i ended up getting a B.
one of the best instructors Glendale College can offer.Very nice and good hearted person, fun and cute too!!
one of the best instructors Glendale College can offer.Very nice and good hearted person, fun and cute too!!
He is the best!!! VERY easy... I never studied and i ended up with a B on the midterm and B's on all the test... His test are 10 multiple choice questions, no tricks... Just straight forwards and you can print out the practice sheets...TAKE him!!!
TAKE THIS MAN! you will definitely not regret it. He makes the class really fun and he's hilarious. Don't even think about any other teacher.
Steve bie is THE BEST. The funniest and kindest man alive. Love him :)))
You'll actually learn something =)Mr. Bie is the BEST teacher at GCC. I took a Philo class with Mr.Williams and I am so happy I dropped it.No textbooks just take notes! This class was worth the wait.I am going to be taking any philosophy class with Mr.Bie cause I love the way he teaches!!! TAKE HIM NO QUESTIONS ASKED
Really good teacher, he make philosophy fun. You don't need to purchase a book, just study his notes and you,ll be fine.
best teacher i have ever had. thats all i can say.
One of the best point of his class is just learning his notes, and always he writes important sentences on the board, so just go to his class and take notes, because his tests are from only and only from his notes. He is really a good teacher and makes the philosophy fun.
He is a great professor. Makes the class interesting and easy to go to every day. HE's funny too.
Steve is not only hot but he's a great teacher who keeps you engaged in the class. Everything you need is online and even the armos in there paid attention and laughed (gasped) b/c he's such a cool guy and you learn as well. Very easy to get an A or B
one of the best i have ever had
THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!! his lectures are not boring actually entertaining and fun to be in. Just study his lectures most of the questions are from the lecture
HOW ABOUT THIS. you'll do ME a favor by taking his class. not only do i think that everyone in the WORLD should take a philosophy class sometime in their lives, but they should take it with THIS professor. HE BLEW MY MIND AWAY AND I'M STILL TRIPPIN TILL THIS DAY.... amazing..so thankful... you'll miss out if you don't take him. THX STEVE!
I like me some Steve Bie =]
favorite teacher of all time. he's smart, entertaining, and possibly the best looking teacher i've ever had.
Seriously, one of the most influential professors @ GCC! Makes you think, a lot! Don't miss a day, you wouldn't even want to, since all the notes are all you need for the quizzes. Very clear! To the point! Entertaining, especially when he tells personal stories..loved it! Oh, and he?s super HOT! Have fun...
BEST.
I loved the subject of philosophy but found Prof. Bie talked more about unrelated topics than Philosophy. He's more interested in his opinion than anyone else's. I didn't find him very professional.
I have a lot of respect for Steve. He is an amazing professor and willing to help out all of his students. He did change his test format so it's not as easy anymore but as long as you understand the material you will be fine. If you are planning on taking a Philosophy class make sure it's with Steve. There is also no book or this class.
This class was harder than I expected and can get very confusing. Though Mr. Bie is really funny and nice, sometimes his lectures were not clear. The unclear stuff always appeared on the test too! His tests got harder and harder as the semester went. Overall, he did make philosophy more interesting but just know it's not going to be an easy A.
I don't find philosophy interesting but Steve is a great professor. He's a great lecturer, fair grader, and hilarious guy. He also posts all readings online so you don't have to buy the book
He is one of the best among GCC instructors. He makes you think and consider more than one view point. His class is very to the point and the quizzes and test are from his notes. He gives examples from his life but he tries to tie them to the point of the lecture. Take him and you will not regret it.
It's my first time having a totally different philosophy teacher. I've only had Prof. Rooney as a philosophy teacher. I was kind of worried as to how my new one would be, but I find him to be friendlier than my previous one and more open minded to other's beliefs. He's the kind of teacher that will take some time to chat to you outside of class
I have never found philosophy easy but Steve makes this class fun. He is hilarious, helpful, and completely friendly to all his students. Attendance is not mandatory and there is no book. However, you should show up to class because you go over a lot.
wow i dont know how he did it, but he made me love philosophy sooo much. he knows his stuff very well and it was always fun to go to class. not easy for everyone to get an A, but the only thing u have to study is the notes. not ur average boring professor, just a really cool dude. TAKE HIS CLASS
Amazing teacher. Philosophy will be interesting after taking this class. But this class is like standing on an edge of a cliff. 100 point grading system, 1pt off the test is 1% off your grade. Very distressful to stay above the water.
he is a great teacher. people who believe that he doesnt care about anything else but his opinion are probably mad because he made them contradict themselves and they look at him the way people looked at socrates when he made them condtradict themselves. he is a great teacher, very attractive, and if you want to pass, you got to do the work.
Good guy and a good teacher. If you pay attention in class and put in some effort you should get an A.
he looks like mel gibson in the movie " the patriot" and when he talks he sounds like DUFF MAN from the simpsons.
He is a very very good philosophy instructor. He makes Philosophy fun and interesting.Grading system is hard, I can say because 1 point=1% of your total grade.Earning A is about commitment, not begging. He is always available to help out at office hours,so please pay a visit if you need help.He is funny and chill. You should have him for Philosophy!!
proffesor bie is amazing!!! he is by far the best teacher at glendale. he knows what he is talking about and is freaking HILLARIOUS. he treats you like a college student and theres no homework. one quiz a week that is worth 10 points and then the final exam. sooo easy all you have to do is listen and you wil get an A for sure
He's a great teacher. I'm still not interested in philosophy, but I don't despise it or anything. There is no textbook and he doesn't take attendance, though being there is REALLY helpful for your quizzes. I took the night class and it was too long (3 hours) for me to stay focused and interested. If you go to class, it's really easy. Recommend it.
Professor Bie is the best! He makes philosophy actually interesting and he's always cracking jokes usually dirty ones haha. If you pay attention, you will do well although his quiz questions are sometimes tricky so be careful.
Philosophy is not an easy class, the subject is so abstract! He was funny, entertaining, and serious about teaching us Philosophy. You'll want to show up for class, can't pass without it. Would recommend him!
He is the BEST TEACHER EVER. There is no doubt about it, he doesnt make his students feel stupid.. he actually talks to you like you are a human being ! Very cool, answers all questions as best as he could and very helpfull. i am taking him again this semester!
PROFESSOR BIE IS THE BEST PROF EVER! HE'S HILARIOUS AND YOU LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SUBJECT, WHO KNEW ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY COULD BE SO COOL :D. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EASY CLASS AND FUN TIME!!
The absolute best. You will not be bored in his class at all, he gets everyone involved unless you dont want to be. He really just is the best. Study for those quizzes though!
Hate his politics, but like the teacher.
Best Philosophy teacher along side Professor Randal Parker. Kept my interest at peak during lectures with his humor. No need for a textbook in his Phil 120 class. Take him, you won't regret it. I recommend you do the practice quizzes if you're aiming for an A. Attendance is not mandatory but will definitely help.
THE BEST, MUST TAKE HIS CLASSES IF YOU ARE A HUMAN!
He is an AWESOME teacher! You will never be bored in that class! He doesn't use a book and doesn't give homework. But you need to show up to class to take notes, study those, and you have the A.
BEST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD. I changed my major because he inspired me.
The teacher is a hard core lefty, and I disagreed with 95% of his political views, but unlike most teachers, he was open minded about other points of view, and made debates fun. A great teacher nonetheless.
I finally found my FAVORITE professor at GCC. I enjoy going to this class every week because he is the funniest prof. that acts like an 18 yr old. He knows his stuff and his class is so entertaining!
Textbook not needed. He gives you exact info he wants you to know, but is not lenient at all when grading. 1 question wrong on quiz is 1% off of total grade. Very funny but very opinionated. Class based on theories not facts.
This guy is AWESOME!! This man got jokes and I actually learned so much in this class. Never had a 3hr friday class be so entertaining plus he gives you all the info you would need to pass all the tests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
i love this teacher! going to his class was the highlight of my school day, even with his unfunny jokes lol listen to his lectures, take notes and read the articles he assigns. :)
great professor and keeps the class entertained. would actually look forward to this class all the time. listen to lectures/take notes/study/read articles and you will be fine! highly recommended.
Professor Bie is wicked smart and he's very approachable. Very laid back, and anyone will agree that his lectures are very fun. I highly recommend him.
Steve is an awesome professor. He lectures based on exactly what he will quiz you on. Everything he lectures is in argument format (Question, example, conclusion, objection)Note that you do not use a text book, so if you miss class, and don't have someone there to copy notes off, you're in trouble. 5 quizzes =75 pts, final = 25 for total of 100 pts
Honestly, he is not what everyone thinks he is. Yeah, he is funny and has a great sense of humor, but he is not fair to those students who work extremely hard for their grade. Philosophy is not an easy subject, and the way he grades on a 100 point scale does not make the class easier neither. He doesn't care about your grade. Easy B, tough A.
Omg don't take him! He I think got harder and really Doesn't care if you work hard for your grade..!! He Takes off points on everything...so if you have 3 mistakes in the quiz you get a C plus yOu need to write an essay in every quiz ... If you want to study like crazy and still get a B then take Him.. He's very unfair!!!!!!!!
Very entertaining teacher, and an interesting class. He's a very down to earth guy, one of my top 3 professors at GCC. It is a 100 point class so you need to do the readings and be familiar with them.
He's awesome. One of my favorite teachers. He's not the easiest in the world but it's worth the extra effort. You will learn a lot if you put in the time. I love that he's exciting and passionate when lecturing. I plan on taking him again.
This was the most interesting, mind blowing, fascinating class ever. Mr. Bie actually inspired me to minor in Philosophy. Take him for sure; class is interesting and he's very passionate about the subject, which is a great plus. You have to do the reading and it's point-based, but Philosophy's extremely interesting so it shouldn't be a problem.
Coolest guy in the world. Go to his class. Take notes on whatever he writes. Study his practice quizzes on Moodle and take quizzes. Total class worth 100 points, 5 quizzes of 15 points, 25 point final. Must study and pay attention in class. Doesn't give D's, only C's. Have to put in some effort to get an A, incredibly easy to get a B
Prof. Bie is a great teacher. The class is extremely interesting and he is great at making it interesting. he gives a clear and unbiased point of view for all sides and is very helpful. the exams are very easy, he pretty much gives you the answer to them. You won't regret it, take him!
Steve is a phenomenal professor, one of the best at GCC! I've taken all of his philosophy classes and he makes the class very interesting. It's not an easy class, if you want an A you're gna have to work for it! During his office hours he will answer and questions that you may have! PLUS he gives you all the POSSIBLE test questions before hand!!!
I adore him! He is funny! The material he was teaching was extremely interesting. I did not feel how 3 hours flew by. Missed that class so sad that semesetr is over.
Best teacher of my entire LIFE! HE IS SOOOOO EASY. Honestly, all you have to do is study the answers HE GIVES YOU! Basically TELLING you what your tests answers are... all you have to do is study them. That simple. Oh not to mention, he's totally funny!
Best professor ever.
best teacher ever!!! only class i looked forward to.. he's HILARIOUSSSSSSS
GREATEST TEACHER. HONESTLY! EASY A or B. He's hilarious. You will not regret taking any of his classes. CHILLEST teacher & has a beautiful singing voice. Such a wonderful teacher. Would 100% take his class again.
One of the best teachers i've ever had. He is smart and funny. Listen and pay attention to his lectures, he says EXACTLY what you need to write on the test. overall a great class.
GREAT TEACHER! He made this class really enjoyable. Time flew by during his lectures. DO THE WORKSHEETS! If you do you will get a good grade. Talk to him if you are lost or have any questions. He is very approachable. Did I mention that he is a great teacher?! He is!
Great teacher, take his class if you want your brain tickled throughout the semester
Hes a great guy as well as a great professor. He is the ONLY professor at gcc who does not judge his students and use that opinion on grading the students. He is not only the best professor, but also the best person I have met at gcc. Thanks for Philosophy 101
BEST Professor ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH!!! I've taken his class twice now... and he is literally an amazing professor. He is hilarious, and straightforward. Definitely take his class, you won't regret it.
Great class and great teacher! Mr. Bie is funny, engaging and he challenges you. Keep an open mind and you'll enjoy the class!
Attendance isn't mandatory but the class is so interesting you want to attend every one. Steve's very clear on what will be on tests. Take good notes, easy A. 5 tests (15 points), 1 final. A couple reading assignments (not long).
I didnt go to class too often cause it was too early in the mornings but everytime I went I was mind blown because the topics he brings up are so interesting. Overall do your work and youll get the grade you deserve. Such an interesting class and I deff recommend Mr. Bie not if the class is easy or not but for the awesome knowledge!!!
Take him! Steve is a hilarious teacher and is great at what he does. His lectures are awesome and really get you thinking. Show up to class and participate! You'll get so much more out of it. His tests are pretty straight forward: 15 points, half written and half multiple choice (roughly). Final is 25 points, same format. You won't regret this.
Very funny teacher. Plato's Apology was the most complicated read. He gave examples of philosophical theories that are easy to apply to your own life and easy to understand. Kinda went fast due to the classes only meeting once a week, but he always did a quick recap of what we talked about previously. Would take again
Taking professor Bie is a must! do what he says and you'll get an A! Perfect classes! Definitely will take him again
Steve is the most amazing teacher on the campus. He is hilarious, very very nice, and explains lectures thoroughly to students. He also gives funny examples. would take all his classes if I could. There's only a few readings for the class, no book, and a few quizzes. He mostly lectures, but overall he's amazing and the class is easy. TAKE STEVE!!!
he is just a all round guy, he will make jokes and help u beacuse he knows we pay for our classes
He is just amazing! Explains clearly! He is one of a kind! He lectures are very interesting ! He keeps you engaged ! Thank you for an amazing experience of your class!
Professor Bie is so knowledgable, understanding, and HILARIOUS. He is one of the best professors at GCC. If you don't understand something, he will go back and explain. Do pay attention in class and take good notes because that is what he bases his tests off of. He is truly a wonderful professor.
I still think of Steve even after leaving GCC. He is, hands down, the best professor I've had yet! He is able to remain completely unbiased in his arguments and is passionate about the subject-matter. His philosophy classes are the first I've ever considered taking "for fun." Participate and you will find yourself engulfed in self-analyzation.
Rated him twice because he is THAT good. Wish I could take him again, if only I wasn't enrolled in such rigorous courses.
Best. Teacher. Ever. He was funny and made the material clear and interesting. Granted, you have to study to get an A, but you can do it.
There is no one like him! I wish all my professors were like Mr. B
Best professor ever!! Took two of his classes, and I'd do it again. No homework, just 5 tests and a final. You have to study for the tests but it's nothing hard, just remembering. His class is based only on 100 points, 15 being each test and 25 being your final. He's really helpful is wants everyone to do well. Definitely recommend him!
His lectures are always very interesting, although a bit confusing. The class is based on a point system and the tests are all written with a few multiple choice questions, also cumulative. Read the articles he gives out, you will be tested on it. Overall he is a very understanding and cool professor to take, an A/B is very possible!
Attendance is non-mandatory, but you need to take good notes in order to do well. 5 cumulative "quizzes" + Finals, allows 1 make up "quiz." It helps that quizzes are all cumulative, bc you won't need to study much for the Finals. Only class where I've never had an absent. Really nice and funny. A class you'll remember forever. Thank you, Prof Bie!
This man changed my life. I am so so so good at arguments now. His lectures are amazing. The sad part is that his assignments are literally all added up to 100 points so every point u get marked off is 1% thanks for making my spring semester worth it osmondddd
Professor Bie is easily the best professor I have had at GCC. He is caring, intelligent, and understanding, as well as enthusiastic about the course material, making the class extremely clear and enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend anyone to take at least one of his classes for a truly incomparable instructor and class experience.
Class is Graded out of 100 points. No extra credit is offered. There are 5 15 point quizzes and 1 25 point final. You can't mess up on the quizzes if you want an A. Take Good Correct notes. If you miss out on a point, it is gone forever. Good lectures and very funny professor. Study up for the Plato's Apology Quiz .
Although I loved having Prof. Bie as a professor, I really would not take him again. He is very funny and charismatic but it is very difficult to get a good grade in this class mainly because if you mess up on one quiz, there's no way to revive the grade. All of the quizzes are short answer which makes it difficult for many students.
Bie is a great professor!! Study your notes and readings he gives you and you're good to go. Plus, he's hilarious (he must have been a comedian in his past life)
Learned a lot from this class and enjoyed it - but he makes it hard to redeem yourself if you mess up. There's no extra credit, although he does slightly curve final grades. Overall, loved the two classes I took with him and enjoyed what I learned.
Love steve with all my heart, but it's not an easy class. Class is out of 100 points, 5 quizzes worth 15 points and 1 final worth 25 points. So every point matters. Take careful notes, and memorize them. Also don't wing readings, there will be questions about them on quizzes.
This class was definitely not easy but it was interesting at the same time. Love learning the ways of philosophy. He's a good teacher and he's hilarious! There are five 15 point quizzes and the final(25 points). Class is out of 100 points so there is no room for error! Study hard and the A is achievable!
Prof Bie is not as easy as everyone thinks! He gives 5 quizzes and each are 15 points and the final is 25 points. the class is a total of 100 points, so if u mess up on 1 quiz you're basically done. He doesn't give extra credit, but might curve a quiz by 1 point. Make sure you do the readings before you take the quiz; def wasn't an 'easy' class
This class was definitely not easy. You need to put in work and try to get an A on each of the 5 quizzes because there is not really room for error. I studied for hours on each quiz and got A's on them so it is doable just takes a lot of time.
He's a very funny professor. He makes the class very interesting and teaches very well. If you study well and pay clear attention to the readings you should be able to get an A. 5 quizzes (15 points) and 1 final (25 points). No room for errors since the class is out of 100 points. Mostly free response questions! final was mostly multiple choice.
He's the best professor I've had yet! I'm planning on taking his other philosophy classes as well. You should show up to class and listen to his lectures and take good notes. There are 5 quizzes (15 points each) and 1 final (25 points). He's hilarious and his lectures are enjoyable!
5 quizzes (15 pts each), and one final exam (25 points). No room for error if you want an A. No textbook, he assigns the reading from online sources. He's funny and easy to talk to. I enjoyed the class, just disliked how your entire grade is based on 100 points only.
Bie is a great, and entertaining teacher so showing up to class wasn't that annoying. However, its not an easy A at all. Its only a 100 point class, so you miss 10 points thats a B. Basically have to ace every single quiz and test. Easily achieved by studying though, its just easy content to memorize.
Do yourself and your gpa a favor and don't take this class. Or if you do decide to take him, take it pass or no pass. It is extremely hard to get an A or even a B. He makes the "C" range bigger because he knows the majority of the class will get Cs. Marks you down points on quizzes for not using the exact words he used during lecture.
Honestly he's a very funny and entertaining prof but his grading is ridiculous. When it says every point counts, literally every point counts.I just don't think its reasonable to have the class be worth a total of only 100 points. Its truly difficult to get an A. You can get a B if u study a lot. Its not a bad class but could have gone better
It's a philosophy class so you have to understand concepts but he makes it understandable. Go over your notes after class and you're more likely to retain the information.
Steve Bie is a wild man. You will NOT be bored in his class. His style may not be ideal if you are a philosophy major, as he lectures and tests in less of a discussion, critical thinking way, and more of an objective, "memorize and regurgitate facts" way. I think he's just trying to be sensitive to the different types of learners in his class.
He is one of the BEST professors I've ever had! He is SO funny, and genuinely cares for his students. If you copy down everything he writes on the board and study, you will definitely be able to get an A in the class. He wants the answers in a specific way, but he writes it all out in class. Very cool and interesting class, highly recommend!
Steve's a great guy and a world class philosopher. His lectures are engaging and he has a way of presenting the ideas of long dead dudes into easily digestible concepts. He's one of the few people that's made David Hume comprehensible to me. At times I wish there was more open discussion, but I understand he has a lot of material to get through.
I took Professor Bie's class in the winter as a part of my general eds and I love this guy. His tests were straight forward and everything he writes on the board is all you have to study/memorize. For the winter class, our tests were every monday and he has a point system. People's reviews scared me about the points but it was not stressful at all.
He's a great teacher who makes the class really fun. He's hilarious and makes you want to change your major to philosophy. Theonlynegativethingabout him is his tests. They're easy, but often you would find that the questions don't really have one answer and if you talk to him about it he would decide if you're right or not. He's also big on atheism
BEST teacher EVER! I swear to god you'll love him. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, you'll 100% pass.
One of the coolest teachers I've had. He has interesting lectures and after break always had fun stories to tell us. I didn't like how the class was based on tests. Basically if you messed up on one test you're going to have to try a lot harder to get an A. Concept was easy but his grading system was bs.
I literally think about his class every day. I wish i could take him over and over again. He is the kind of professor you WANT. He makes his lectures so interesting and hilarious, so you learn a lot but it doesnt feel forced. If u pay attention to the lectures (hard not to) youll get an A. He's great at what he teaches, and great as a person. <3
Chill professor and funny. He makes philosophy interesting but his notes tend to get confusing. His exams are cumulative so it gets pretty difficult at the end but it is still manageable. If you want or need to take philosophy, take his class!
great professor. if you attend the lectures and do the reading you should get an A
He is a great professor. Great lectures.
Amazing prof, attend class & write notes youll pass. Lectures are very straight forward for whats on the test. Very funny lectures, enjoyable class.
Very nice professor you will pass he wants you to pass good guy deserves to win the lottery
Amazing professor knows the subject very well and keeps the class engaged, brings up good questions that really gets the class thinking. He is very enthusiastic about this subject he sometimes shouts WOO HOO! when things get super interesting in his class.
He lives to make people laugh. He tried to remember everyone's name, but unless you were someone who spoke a lot during the semester, he probably forgot your name several times. My only gripe with this class is that there are only 100 points total spread out over 5 tests, and that means you can only miss an average of 2 points per test for an A.
Steve is so funny which makes class fun and easy to learn. Go to class, take notes, study, and you will be fine for the tests. Only 5 tests and all of them are 20 points. It was a blast! There is no textbook requirement, he will post the readings online. What are you waiting for? Take him! Go Go Go
The best professor I have ever had! His lectures are always easy to understand if you pay attention and he is the most hilarious guy.. I have never laughed this much in a class! Thank you for everything Mr. Bie!! Truly an amazing teacher that I would take again in a heartbeat! If you need philosophy TAKE HIM!!!
The funniest Professor I have ever had. If you take clear notes throughout his lecture then you will easily pass his exams. Your grade is based on 5 tests that are 20 points each, so if you mess up on the tests you can kiss your grade goodbye. The only reading we had to do was on articles that were online. Will definitely take him again.
An excellent teacher. He has a simple policy for tests. If it's on the whiteboard it's testable which clears up any confusion on what to study. His lectures are hilarious and yet full of substance. If you have an opportunity please take him, he is a gem!
I just need to say one thing.... TAKE HIM!
Prof. Steve is hilarious, open-minded, and very knowledgeable when it comes to Phil. There are 5 tests (20 points each), and the class total points is 100, no room to slack off. Don't be intimidated by those num., his lectures are fun and awesome! Just make sure to come every lecture to get the notes. Notes / readings exam. No e/c, min. reading
Hes open minded, reviews previous lectures before starting new ones which is very helpful, very chill professor, very funny, open for disgussions/arguments, tries to remember everyones name. you should take him.
If you're going to take a philosophy course at GCC, then you need to take it with Steve. There are 5 tests worth 20 points which makes up your entire grade. However, you should not be intimated, because his notes are clear. In addition, he goes over the material multiple times before exam day. Plus, he's the funniest professor!
I would take his class again. He wants his students to pass. As long as you sit in at every lecture and take notes, and REVIEW those notes, you'll be fine. Attendance N/R. There are some readings you have to do, but you can find the readings online and the questions for them aren't too specific. I appreciated that he stuck to his syllabus.
Took Philosophy 101 over the winter session and I'm genuinely going to miss coming to this class! I actually enjoyed being there because his lectures were super interesting and engaging. 5 exams, 20 points each. Yes it's a 100 point class with no extra credit. Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine! If you miss an exam, there's one makeup.
steve bie is a gem. he is the funniest professor ive taken at gcc. you NEED to pay attention to his lectures, of you dont you'll miss something and it would most likely be on the test.
The BEST professor I have had the chance to learn from. Professor Bie is very knowledgable and intelligent.
Steves passion for philosophy is infectious. Loved his philosophy 101 class! His lectures are engaging, insightful, and funny. As long as you show up, take notes, and pay attention, you should do well in the class.
most amazing professor I've ever taken. teaches the material so good and genuinely cares for all his students and their understanding of the material. he's hilarious and makes philosophy so fun and interesting. I'm really sad that the semester is already over. I'll never get tired of him or this class. he makes you never wanna skip class
love him so much. he's seriously the best. enjoyed every bit of his class and sad that it is over. please take him you won't regret it. he's hilarious, inspirational, and just amazing. he inspires you to want to come to class and learn
i would die for this man
He is such an amazing professor, it's fairly easy to get an A in the class as long as you understand what he says and take good notes. He's hilarious, you'll love being in his class. Doesn't give extra credit but you won't need it. Made me love philosophy!
I go to USC now and no professor I've had thus far can even come close to Mr. Bie. His class really changed the way I look at the world and I would take it again in a heartbeat. Definitely the best class I've ever taken in college (I actually looked forward to his class every week). His class is very easy too, what are you waiting for?? TAKE HIM!!!
TAKE HIS CLASS! Really great teacher. His lectures are clear and easy to understand. He doesn't overwhelm you with too much work- one test 20 question no time limit test once a week, and every few weeks a read to do. He is super attentive to his student's needs and would definitely recommend especially for online classes. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
amazing prof. tests based of lecture. just take notes and you will get an A. Technically you dont have to attend class because he records his meetings but you still need to watch the recordings to pass. 20 question tests once a week and you have the whole week to do it. A few reading assignments but they're easy. hes also very funny and kind.
Just come to class, take notes, and the tests will be an easy A. Weekly tests and a few reading assignments is the whole grade, which is very manageable. Great guy and really funny too.
He is one of the best professors. Just pay attention to the lectures and take notes. There is a 20 question test every week but if you paid attention to the lectures it should be easy. You can also watch the lecture later on because he records them. His lectures are interesting as well. Overall, it was a great course!
tests once a week and super easy, all based off notes. one reading assignment every other week, maybe once a week. I also took his 101 class and it was the same. Steve is funny and his lectures are interesting too. definitely take this class.
the best prof of all time. amazing lectures and great readings!
Professor Bie literally arranges the class in such a way where students are almost certain to succeed. It would be more difficult to fail this class rather than pass it. He gives extremely enticing lecturing that keeps students engaged and is always willing to help. One of my favorite professors at GCC
This man is the greatest man to ever exist. I would take him for every course he offers. You will not regret it. If I could have selected all the positive feedbacks to describe him I would. He is hilarious. He is understanding. He is your friend. He is open-minded. He just wants you to learn, be the best version of yourself, and enjoy the class.
This professor is hilarious. He cares for his students and makes class fun. Do your work and you will get an easy A!
He's an icon, he's a legend, and he is the moment. Take his class already, you'll love him! He is extremely respectable, the class is interesting, and he truly cares for the wellbeing of his students, plus he doesn't stress you out with unnecessary assignments. Super simple: one weekly test and a few reading assignments here and there. good luck!
Really great professor his lectures are always entertaining!
He is literally the funniest and most interesting professor take him!!
Take him and that's literally all I gotta say. You do a quiz every week and a written assignment every other. Quizzes are based on the lectures which are actually recorded so you don't really need to go to class (attendance isn't graded). Great information, really funny guy, and no stress at all. Really fun and great teacher. Take him!!
There were weekly MC quizzes based on notes and 5 reading assignments. That's all! He also drops your lowest quiz score in case you miss one. His lectures were never dull and he truly wants to see every student succeed
Prof Bie was great! Weekly tests & 5 reading assignments. He grades the reading assignments based on completion. For quizzes, just take good notes and you'll be fine. Very straightforward class.
Such an amazing class! Professor Bie is hilarious and teaches in a way which ensures that you understand the material. Super straightforward class. You have a few tests (pay attention in class and take some notes and you'll be fine) and some reading assignments. He will go over things again if he feels like you're not getting it. Take this class!!
Such a down to earth man. He makes philosophy easy to understand and tries to engage the whole class. Not to mention his hilarious sense of humor and he is very lenient. Just some reading assignments and Quizzes here and there but you have to try to fail the class if you happen to do so.
Prof Bie is one of my favorite professors I've had at GCC. He is hilarious and shares lots of funny stories and examples during his lectures. He repeats things multiple times and his grading criteria is very simple, so as long as you show up to lecture and take notes, you can't fail. I would recommend him 100%
Class is very simple! Take him.
Prof. Bie is such a great guy. Every single lecture he had me cracking up. I'm impressed by how well he was able to relate his jokes/humor to the lectures; he did this very well. He's super understanding and his class is structured in a very simple way. Highly highly recommend.
This guy is amazing. His lectures are fun and interesting, you'll get a lot out of it. This was probably the only class I've enjoyed of the 60+ units I have. Pay attention and listen to what he points out during his lectures because his exams are pretty straight forward. Take him in person if you're trying to make the most out of it. Cool ass dude.
Funny guy
I'm considering philosophy as a major so I can take him more. Great guy. If you take and read over your notes before the test then you will pass. Lectures are entertaining and time goes fast!
Took this class last semester, he is a great teacher. There is a lot of reading but he is fair with grading papers, he will also often review the reading if you had trouble understanding it. Tests were fairly simple and nice. Completely changed my opinion on philosophy and love it now. 12/10 greatest teacher. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
The greatest professor I have ever had. His lectures are extremely interesting, as he not only explains the subject in clear detail, but he provides real world examples to better your understanding. Aside from his lectures, Professor Bie will almost always leave you laughing from his lectures. Never a dull moment in class, HIGHLY recommended.
He's the coolest and funniest professor. Lectures are genuinely interesting, assignments are stupid easy, tests are very straightforward. Take him in person, you wont regret it.
This was an amazing class! The best way to describe his teaching is comedy counseling. Lectures are important so make sure to pay attention. The reading assignments and exams is what makes up the whole grade for the class. The tests can be sort of tricky, so be fully prepared with the material. Overall his class is passable, doable, and enjoyable.
The best professor I've had so far in my 2.5 years of undergrad. Not only he knows how to teach unlike the department chair (Lina Gupta), he has an amazing personality and makes sure you understand and succeed in his class. If you go to his office hours and listen to his lectures, there is no reason to not get an A. Overall I highly recommend him.
I don't think I will ever have a professor who will impact my life the way he has. Beyond being hilarious, he's also encouraging and incredible at teaching. It has been a privilege being in his class, and I hope to be a student of his again in the future.
he's HILARIOUS. class doesn't even feel like a class, its literally a comedy show. 3 tests 1 final and ALL the material on tests are covered in class + all mc.he's a phenomenal professor, he explains clearly n will NEVER make u feel dumb. if ur called on u have the option to pass. he's amazing TAKE HIM. 5 reading assignments.5 reading assignments
Incredibly smart and incredibly funny. All you have to do is show up, take notes, and pay attention - and you'll get an A. If you somehow get a B in this class after doing all of that, you have only yourself to blame.
Steve is the best!! I learned so much in this class bc he is a great teacher & is really good at explaining. He is also funny as hell which makes lectures even better. Stick with his powerpoint slides and take good notes during class & youll be fine. Some easy writing assignments. Just take him! You won't regret it! I will miss this class so much!
I have so much respect for professor Bie. I had a bit of a hard time sometimes understanding the philosophical concepts, I joined his office hours a few times. He was happy to present the information in a different way, which was super helpful. The class took 4 tests over the Fall 2023 semester including the final. Take him!
Professor Steve brings a captivating blend of intellect and humor to his philosophy lectures, making each session a delightful and enriching experience. Despite the inherent challenges of the subject, his dynamic teaching style ensures that students feel supported and engaged. Take his class!
Prof Bie is amazing! Truly one of the best professors I have ever had. He's so funny and makes the classroom feel like a chill place while also being really educational. I'm currently in his in person class and while attendance is not mandatory, I do recommend still attending so you can get the lecture notes needed for the exams. Highly recommend!
Prof Bie, is amazing. He is very straight forward, fair and understanding. His lectures are very fun. He is really kind, is very accessible for help. Provides study sessions. The exams are straight forward MCQs, attend all his classes, take notes and study his powerpoints. Go to his office hours, ask him questions.
100000/10 prof. He is HILARIOUS. makes philo very fun and interesting. Lectures in a way that makes you understand everything. He does not take attendance, but you should attend to learn the material. Few hw, tests are from his lectures. Attend, take some notes, sit back, and enjoy with some popcorn. He is amazing take him and take in-person!!!!!
One of the best professors I've had - really funny and makes class engaging. Definitely attend lectures, as they're super helpful. Unstuckstudy AI was a lifesaver for studying alongside the textbook-free course. Highly recommend this class!
Professor Bie is HILARIOUS. He makes class so much fun and he explains concepts in a way where you 1)understand and 2)don't forget. Your grades are based on 5 tests and 4 or 5 reading assignments. If you attend class, pay attention, and take some notes you'll do good on the tests. One of, if not, my favorite teacher by far!
One of my favorite professors while at GCC. Very funny and caring. Make sure to pay attention to lectures and take notes. He made philosophy fun. If you see this Professor Bie, thank you for being amazing!
He's cool, but you're graded on your tests. If you suck at test taking, I'd try to find an online PHILO101 course instead because you won't pass, maybe with a C. His lectures are entertaining, but not recommended if you have ADHD because you'll most likely zone out as he yaps. He's super friendly though.
The best philosophy prof, yes your grade is based on 3 exams, the final, and 5 reading assignments but the people saying you won't pass are being dramatic. Take it from someone who's the worst at taking tests, just review the material a few times and you wont get lower than a B
He's super funny and energetic; his readings and lectures are full of interesting concepts! I definitely recommend him. Not much homework at all but you have to pay attention to lectures to pass!
Hes a very fun prof and I took him for 101 and 120 but tbh his grading system is so annoying most of the grade relies on tests which is fine but his lecture slides are all fill in the blank so if you missed something its kind of hard to find also a lot of ppl he talks about have similar names and they're hard to remember so keep that in mind
One of the best professors at GCC. He was hilarious and extremely easy. His tests are fully based on his lectures, so it's definitely important to attend. Make an effort, and you'll get an A.
One of the best professors out there. I took his class In fall 2024, and he was just amazingg. All you have to do is be present in class, and take notes. Read your notes one or 2 days before the exam, and you're good to go. Very caring, and funny professor as well. Sometimes makes unhinged jokes, which makes it even funnier.
