Very nice in explaining, very very clear. Makes the class very fun. He loves to sing in the class....BUT BE CAREFULL, VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY HARD TESTS.
Awesome proffesor. Great teacher, explains concepts in a very clear fashion. Better than other college chem profs
He is an awsome teacher that knows exactly what he is doing. He still helps me out even with my upper level classes. He makes your interest in chemistry sky rocket and the classes are really fun. But his test are very hard and lots of effort will be made for this class. But it is totally worth it!
Extremely hard tests from one of the best teachers EVER! Amazingly clear, interesting and funny - you will learn so much and remember it forever. Did I mention the tests are hard?
Dr. Borick appears to be easily distracted by young and attractive female students. In the event you are discussing an issue with him, don't expect his full attention. Quite hyperactive.
Very picky, I had to re-write every lab at least once. But if you ever have trouble understanding what to do, let him know and he'll clear it up.
The man's an incredible instructor regardless of his persistence with quality and a known habit of administering tough tests. Dont be afraid to ask him for help, no joke!
This teacher is the Bomb! He is hillarious and makes chem such an amazingly fun class, his tests are a little tricky but only to help us make sure we understand completely! I would recomend him to everyone! hint: is do not get behind in studying his notes and see him the min. you dont understand!
Tests are challenging, but not if you attend class and follow his examples. Incredible teacher, he can make any concept make sense.
I took this class on the recommedation of a former student. Although some people loved it, MORE THAN HALF of my class dropped before it was over. He loves to teach, but was ineffective in getting the idea to us. Great guy, poor teacher. His lab is excessively disorganized. If possible, please find another teacher or campus to take this from.
Fabulous teacher with an enthusiasum that other professors rarely live up to. One of the best teachers I've ever had.
Wonderful! Borick really cares about his students and is so excited about chemistry.
Very Nice Guy!! Loves his Job! Smart. I took his class last year, and for a lower division class he made the material harder than it should have been. Later becuase of my visits to his office and visits by others he began to give study guides. I pulled off a B luckily. Overall a fun class and informative.
I don't know what people are talking about. I felt like this guys shouts and is condescending during his lectures. Go to PV and take Mancini! There is no point getting a C in Borricks class. Remember, you are already at a disadvantage by doing CC. If you get less than an A, it will KILL your chances at medical, pharmacy, PA, dental etc.
An outstanding teacher. Very passionate and good sense of humor. I wouldve taken all my chemistry classes from him if I could of. Just pay attention and do the homework.
great fricken teacher take his class, its not easy but he gives you great material to study and if you show up you wll do great
One word: DOOFUS ... just because he was a doofus didn't make him a bad teacher. Very passionate about his job and goes above and beyond to get you interested in it, but if you get off track, you're screwed. If you take his class you have to be on point 100% of the time ... that is way to strenuous for me.
This guy is great. For those on here who said he was hard, he is but you learn it and it will stick with you. Go to class and do the homework. He gives you all his old tests, he can't take the test for you and if he made it any easier you wouldn't learn. He has more office hours than the rest of the chem dept combined and he is actually there.
Borick tells you 2 things at the start of his class. CHM 130 will require more work than almost any class at SCC and he knows how to teach intro chemistry. He's right on both. Do the work (including reading the "optional" text (which is quite good)), never miss class and you can succeed. This class is definitely not easy; but you will learn.
Very out going, loves to teach. One thing, take good notes. If you ask him for help first thing he says "take out your notes". He is willing to help out and make evey effort that you pass his class.
FABULOUS teacher. He LOVES to teach and is extremely good at it. Hes always available for extra help so take advantage of his office hours. FUN CLASS!
difficult to understand
i took 130 with him, and he was great!!!!! but when i took 152 i could not understand anything!
Ok teacher, not very helpful. When you ask for help, he tells you to take out your notes. When it comes to homework, he will not tell you what you did wrong, he just tells you to correct it. How are you suppose to know what you did wrong, if he does not tell you. Also he does not want you to use outside sources. Tutoring center.
He's very motivated to teach, great lecture. But hard exams. DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR LAB! Very difficult and high expectation if you want an A.
Great teacher, loves to do it. Very motivated. Plays the guitar and makes chemistry songs. Very helpful. But harder than most classes. Do not take lab if you're not passionate to learn about chemistry.
Really hard teacher. Says he will help, but when you ask him all he does is tell you to read your notes and gets frustrated. Goes through the material really fast when teaching. Compares chm 130 and 151 way to much instead of focusing on chm130. Doesn't go over any test.
Very good at what he does. Knows his stuff inside and out. Stays long hours after class to answer questions and help with concepts. Asking for help can be intimidating at times. Course moves fast so it helps to have him there so often to help. Labs reports are a pain. He grades them pretty hard. Didn't have to buy a textbook, which was cool.
Very enthusiastic teacher and overall nice person. You will need to do all the homework and "live" in the chem department to get an A. If you are interested in learning chem152 topics (instead of just wanting the grade) then you have a good chance for success.
This guy is very good at delivering the info in an understandable way.
He is extremely interesting and makes chemistry hands on and fun. I was always excited to go to class to see what he was going to do that day.
Not a professor at all. No reviews of exams. Gets stupid around young female students. If you ask a question, he reminds you of the prereq's req'd for the class. He gets mad if you any outside help, yet he isn't available for help. plays his guitar in class to tunes of The Who. And most important calls himself THE STEVESTER. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!
Plan on reading your chemistry book. His notes are to easy compared to his tests. Get the ACS study guide from day 1 for Gen Chem. Study that everyday, dont worry about your tests. If you pass the ACS exam you pass the class. ACS is comprehensive 151& 152. AVIOD LAB with him-Labs will have to be rewritten.
Don't waste your money going to him. Doesn't give notes on what he exams. Says use book, but exams are nothing like the book questions. Wastes time talking about other things than what suppose to be teaching. Changed up act when he was being watched by school, then went back to his insufficent teaching practices. Take with another teacher!!!
Agree with previous complaints! The school needs to look into this teacher, how did he go from a good one to a bad one so fast, did he loose interest in teaching? Doesn't test on what he says in class... then says you can pass his class if you pass the final, so why do I bother being made to go to a class that I am not being taught in? Don'ttakehim
This was my 2nd sem taking Borick and I can say his were 2 of hardest classes I've taken! And not because he is a bad prof its just a difficult subject that takes time and LOTS studying. If you want to just show up and get an A don't take his class. But if you are prepared to put in the time and want to learn chem I highly recommend his class!
I don't see what the last couple complaints are about. Took both his lab and lecture 152 class last semester and loved it. His lectures are interesting and informative. Sure his tests are hard but he gives tons of extra credit questions that are completely doable if you did your homework. Lab was always fun too and the reports weren't bad.
He is a geat teacher. He is always willing to help student who are having trouble. His class is not easy by any standards but if you work hard and seek help when you need it you can get an A.
Borick is the BEST LECTURER EVER!!!!!!!!
Dr. Borick is a phenominal teacher who firmly beleives that an "A" means excellent. If you don't put in the time to study, you will not get anything above a C. Will prepare you well. The ACS test (standardized test every chem student will take) is a breeze compared to his tests. Get 90% on ACS test, get an A in class no matter what.
He is an expert in chemistry, but lacks social skills and educational ability. It is very much a 'sink or swim' environment - and he has his foot on your head. Be aware only the best 1 or 2 students get an A in his class. You can learn chemistry from him and pass his class, but there are much better teachers.
Questions asked by students only lead to more questions. His answers are not thorough. If you are nervous about tests, be nervous about his. Multiple choice doesnt mean there is an answer. What you got, you write down and hope you have it write, because the answer you got might not be a choice, and you could be right.
Not very clear and snaps at you when you ask a question. He is condescending quite often. Would not recommend this teacher. His tests are also very hard. He takes off points if you answer a BONUS question incorrectly...and then says things like "you probably weren't ready for this but I put it on the test anyways." Book basically teaches class.
He is not a good teacher at all. When he teaches something you are expected to know something the next minute. He is not very approachable. He makes you feel dumb if you do ask a question he replys with an attitude like what do you mean you dont get it. I would not reccommend him for a chemistry teacher to anyone unless your a smart smart person.
Great instructor!!! Passionate about chemistry and guarantee's he can teach you so that you will not struggle in any future chemistry classes.
Mr. Borick is a great guy and is very passionate about chemistry! He makes up musicals that he strums on his guitar to relate songs to what were learning, which is really cool, but he is VERY HARD!He teaches you the basics and then some...Im taking CHM 130,THE BASICS!NOT THEN SOME!He is very hard and his test are even HARDER!hes for AP students ONLY!
Be prepared to work your butt off but also understand that chemistry is not an easy subject. You will learn more from Borick than you will from any other teacher. You have to put the time and effort into it and don't expect an easy A. He is a straight up genius and an all around great person.
Super hard, super worth it. If you just need a C take someone else. If you need to take more chem in the future there is no professor out there who will prepare you more than him. Passionate about chem with insanely high expectations of students. He has no tolerance for laziness or students who don't put in 100$. Put in the work and he's great.
VERY difficult teacher, his tests are challenging. Emphasis on his tests! they are no joke, VERY difficult. He makes them as hard as he can & he lets you know it. Isn't very helpful inside or outside of class for clarification. Good guy though, pretty funny. Unless your a CHM major or want an heck of challenge,I STRONGLY recommend takin some1 else!
Not helpful outside of class. If you want a good grade you must be very good at teaching yourself, do not expect help from him. Tests are extremely difficult in his class. Be warned, plan on spending all your spare time on this class if you take him. His class is entertaining and he's easy to listen to.
This teacher is the worst. He comes off super nice in class singing songs about CHM, but if see him during his office hours he is no help what so ever! He threw my disability paperwork on the ground when i gave it too him to get a note taker for his class, and made me feel dumb for even asking questions.
Dr. Borick is a highly competent professor. I spent over 80% of my aggregate study time devoted to his class, and I entered the final barely holding a "B". His ACS rules luckily earned me an "A". I can't deny I learned a lot; I ended in the top 6% of ACS takers in the nation. But, a LOT of people dropped. SERIOUS STUDENT WITH PERSEVERANCE ONLY!
One of the best intstructors I've ever had. Everyone on here saying he's a bad professor didn't want to do the work. You get what you put in with Borick. He makes you work hard, but he is the best at what he does.
One of the best teachers I have had. BUT VERY DIFFICLUT CLASS. A HUGE TIME SUCK. He loves the material and makes it very interesting. If you put in A LOT of time, you will do well. He gives you all you need to succeed. Be prepared to work VERY HARD. But he is worth it!
Borick is a very intelligent and highly skilled teacher. He is great at explaining chemistry and gets genuinely excited when talking about it. His class is difficult only if you make it so, but if you pay attention, actively participate in your homework and studies then you will do well. I would highly recommend taking his class!
He is to smart for his own good. He just thinks that everyone gets it already and moves along way to fast! I would not recommend him at all
Steve Borick took a subject that I really did not care much about, chemistry, and made it super interesting. I looked forward to coming to class each day. He gives you all the tools to succeed in his class. Excellent teacher!!
Deffinitely not an easy class, but not because of the professor just a hard subject. Borick is an awesome teacher, and really wants you to pass his class. he is very helpful and by far the best teacher i have ever had. he really does try to make it interesting. dont bother buying the book he gives you printable notes:)
Excellent class. I learned a ton about chemistry and I now feel confident to move deeper into the subject. Do the homework and listen to his lectures before the tests. He gives you all the tools to do well in this clas - JUST USE THEM!!!
HARD CLASS!!!! Steve is a great teacher, very passionate, interesting and records his lectures so you can download them and re-listen to them when you get home which is very helpful! Home work is a must!He says the homework wont hurt you only help you grade wise, but it does hurt you grade wise! Text book not needed! he has all notes ready for you!
I took Dr. Borick a semester ago. Since then I have taken Gen Chem 2 and O Chem. Dr. Borick hands down is the most difficult professor I've ever had, and I cursed his name more times than I can count. BUT, my ACS exam scores were never as high as when I had him. Difficult- Extremely. But the most effective chemistry instructor I ever had.
Hardest professor I've ever had, yet he is by far my favorite. He made himself available for students to receive help. He kept the class interesting and fun, yet was able to maintain the overall composure of the class. This was the guy to get me stoked about Chemistry. Just put the time and EFFORT in and this class will pay off!
Easily the best professor I've ever had. CHM 151 & 152 are demanding classes, but Mr. Borick gives you everything you need to succeed - notes, mnemonics, time, templates for lab reports, opportunities to do better, etc. Go to class, take notes, read the book, do the homework, and utilize his office hours if you need it. He's there for you!
Steve is an interesting fellow, but his class is VERY HARD. I would not recommend his summer course to anyone, except the die hard chem majors who don't mind having no summer, and no life. Wish I had really known what I got myself into before I took the class. Other than that, he is a goofy sweet guy who loves relating the lectures to breaking bad.
Mr. Borick's tests are difficult and the class is demanding, but he is helpful when asked, especially if he can tell you are putting in the effort. Expect to work hard to do well in this class. Mr. Borick's enthusiasm for the subject material is evident and catching!
Mr. Borick is easily the best professor I have ever had! I took Chem 230 over the summer and it was very difficult. However, it was all worth it in the end! It was a demanding class that requires 8+ hours of studying a day to do well! I ended up with an A in the class only because I worked my butt off! Awesome teacher overall!
Mr. Borick is a super solid instructor. How could anyone ever say he is a bad teacher? His class is hard, and it moves fast. If you expect him to babysit you, you will be very disappointed By the way,I didn't get an A. I got a B (my first one like ever) and I still think he is a great professor.
Great Professor!! He really knows his stuff and helps you learn it well. You don't need a textbook, which is sweet, but he makes textbook available at a low cost to students. He really helps everyone learn. I would recommend him.
Had him for lecture and lab. Fast paced, difficult tests. Lab reports are impossible and leaves sarcastic remarks on them. Unapproachable, taught myself.
Teaches material above what other chemistry teachers are teaching. His tests questions are in general the hardest version of the question he can think up. He enjoys "stumping" people. I'm not in the class to be stumped, I'm there to learn Chem 1 not all the ways Chem 1 can be confusing. Do not take him.
This is a teacher that walks around bragging that he makes the course as hard as he can think up, and, he actually goes out of his way to do it! One of those teachers that will tell you: "no one gets an A in my class"...
Don't take him, go to GCC for chemistry. this guy runs off the good teachers to other schools so that he can continue to teach horribly. Think about it: why does he teach at a community college with a PhD from Princeton?? He could teach anywhere--or can he??
Thinks its hilarious to trick students on tests. Refused to do any example that resembled hw problems because "that's what the book is for". Worst teacher ever. DONT TAKE HIM TAKE SAWYER!
I was very surprised to see all of the negative comments about this class. If you are a student who cares about learning the material he is a GREAT chemistry teacher, uses great examples, and even plays songs to help you learn concepts. Easy daily homework that helps alot of tests. If I had any complaint, he's a tough grader but worth taking class!
He is a GREAT chemistry teacher! Truly cares about each student, allows make up exams, wants you to understand information, but requests hard work and does not tolerate lazy students. If you put your best effort you will do great in his class.
Ok, so he knows his stuff that's for sure. Brings in his guitar along with changed words to help engage all parts of the brain for learning. I would take a class again from him because he wants all his students to do well. Be prepared to study.
Awesome teacher!! BY FAR the hardest teacher i have ever had but he really wants to let his students excel. I worked my tail off to get an A. If you are willing to work a lot and learn a lot, take him.
I have serious respect for Dr. Borick. A brilliant and excellent man. Hardest professor you will likely ever take. If you succeed, you will kick butt at chemistry. HOWEVER, if you did not have him previously, don't take him for 152. You will fail (drop). Will not wait for the uninitiated to catch up to his high standards. HW is VERY time consuming.
I had to take his class twice in order to pass. I would have switched teachers, but he is the only one on TU TH. He's knowledgeable, however he's completely scatterbrained, and gives very little step by step solutions. He has a deep understanding of the subject but treats the class and students as if the course is all a review. Would not recommend.
i am an A student at first i was ready to drop for the first time then i let the grudge go and studied until 4 am every night with my friends trying to self teach in myopinion, no he is not meant to be a professor he's a passionate chemistfind someoneworth learning fromunorganized, if you ask for help you willbecoming in while he is teaching lab ..
When you sign up to take O-Chem during the summer, you're basically signing your life away for 5 weeks. It's a lot of work, but Dr. Borick clearly outlines his expectations of you from the start. Don't be afraid to ask questions - he is always willing to clarify if need be. Overall, your grade will reflect the effort and work you put into it.
Ive never had any problem with my teachers they are all helpful, but mr borick.. i suggest no one take him as your teacher he does not help you what so ever all he does is give you videos to watch on youtube and expects you to learn from that, he should not be a college professer, he is too scatter brained and needs to get his act together.
Can't say he's a bad teacher but he is very very tough. Do not take him if you aren't ready to put in 5-6 hours per week outside of class minimum. Borick loves chem and has high standards for his students. Either step up or take a diff prof bc if not you'll be very frustrated. Very critical and particular about how he wants things done, esp in lab.
Professor Borick is AWESOME. I started with an F in the class, and really thought I was going to drop it. I really liked his intense teaching style, as he really encourages class participation by asking questions ALL the time. Ultimately, Professor Borick puts the burden of learning onto YOU, and if you can't handle it, that's your problem.
He's very passionate about the course thats for sure, but an all honesty his teaching is really not good. He taught through videos, but more than teaching it seemed like a review. If youre willing to put an alot of time outside of class or with a tutor take the course.
Worst teacher I have ever had. If I could give him a 0 rating I would. Teaches through youtube videos-for each subject he puts up probably 3 hours worth of videos instead of teaching in class for the allotted time. In class is like a review. You have to dedicate a lot of time outside of class to watch the videos and take notes. BEWARE.
I had Borick for CHM152. All I really got our of it is that there are aliens and they have higher technology then we do. Until they bestow their technology upon us we will nit know the answers. Well that is what Borick believes and teaches. If that is not justice enough for the poor score given, please rethink your priorities.
Worst teacher EVER.
We were the Ginny pigs for his video assignments and lectures. I was so excited: doing lectures on my own time? Sweet! Later did I find out that in class lectures and vidoe lectures were both happening, and since videos could go up to 2 hrs per assignment, I quickly realized working a full-time job amd competeing with his assignment wasn't working.
Mr. Borick is awesome, best teacher I've ever had. Yes he's difficult, but more than willing to help! He made almost 100 videos of mini lectures so everyone can learn at their own pace. Cool guy.
Terrible teacher. Video lectures take too much time to watch and don't really help all that much. In class lectures are essentially pointless to attend. Doesn't explain the material well at all.
This class is not easy, but then again Chemistry isn't supposed to be a subject where you can slide by with minimum effort. I would recommend this class if you are diligent enough to spend 2 hours outside of each lecture period . If you show that you want to succeed, he will see that. Don't take his gruff attitude personally, that's just who he is.
Mr. Borick was probably my favorite professor I have ever had! The first day of class, I was not too excited because I had heard he is wasn't a good teacher and he was really tough at grading. As I went through that semester however, I just saw pure passion coming from him with everything he taught. Chemistry is not easy, but he teaches it well
This teacher is awful. His youtube videos take way too long and do not correlate to anything on the test, so the time you do spend trying to learn is wasted. He has a huge ego and doesn't give a student what they need to be successful. Strongly suggest not taking this class with this teacher. Has his PHD but cant teach better than a HS teacher lol.
Steve Borick knows his stuff. He is not a easy professor, but that's because he expects you to practice on your own and study on your own. He won't take excuses and he does have a tendency to make you feel like a loser.
If you actually want to learn chemistry and aren't just looking to pass with minimum engagement, take Borick. He teaches a flipped style classroom, meaning, you watch a series of prerecorded lectures on youtube complete with notes and practice questions he designs to engage students in active learning. It's not for everyone, but anyone can do it.
If you're serious about learning chemistry then take this course. If not, you're in for a long semester.
Borick really motivated me to keep going and convinced me to not withdrawal at my peak of stressing. I ended up passing with a 75% and it was the most rewarding thing, because he's so tough. Expect to devote A LOT of time if you want to fully grasp all the material by the time of each huge exam. The YouTube videos are very long but helpful.
Mr. Borick is a fantastic professor and you would be lucky to get him as your teacher. He takes the time to help you and never stops encouraging you. He sings songs to help you remember concepts and provides tons of help! I can't express how great of a professor he really is. If you don't get him as your professor I feel bad for you!!
Professor Borick is hands-down one of the best teachers that I have ever had. His class is tough (if you want easy, stay away from chemistry in general): but he provides you with all the materials you need to succeed. His exam questions are very similar to the examples he goes over in class (so pay attention), and he is more than happy to help you.
He doesn't use class lecture time to actually lecture. he has you watch videos and take notes on your own before you come to class. he uses class time to do problems. no extra credit. gives you a quiz every single day you come in to class. and his exams are extremely tough he adds things in there that we should have known from his previous class.
I'm an A student and was able to get an A in his class. He is by far the most helpful teacher, he sets you up for the most success possible. He has notes online youtube videos of the lectures before the lecture, he gives a 2-question quiz based off youtube videos and its only for attendance. He explains everything and the videos are so helpful
Great teacher. I didn't like the videos at first, but it works. Look at the darn videos so that you are prepared. So what he doesn't lecture in class, thats more time to ask questions about something you didn't understand. The "quizzes" at the beginning of each class are the VERY similar to the test questions.
ACS test! The test you must pass to advance. He will teach you what you need to know to pass that test. You must take the time to absorb it and learn it, which includes going to the tutor center. The grades in this class are earned not given, and there is lots of EC. Watch his videos, do the HW and understand the concepts and you will get A!
Overall, it's easy to get an A if you watch the lecture videos and understand the material. My complaint is his lab was confusing. He quickly went over lab instruction at the beginning of class. We wrote group lab reports and there was no grading rubric or guidelines on how to write the report.
Mr. Borick is a great teacher who is very passionate about chemistry. He always gives clear instructions for the labs and is willing answer any questions you may have. He is thorough with grading the lab reports , so make sure you answer each question fully. Great class, great instructor, highly recommend!
Had for Lecture and Lab. Expects a lot from students, is very picky on reports. Gives plenty of material to cover the subject, videos, exercises, old tests. Gives plenty of bonus exams. If you let him know you need help, he will work with you as much as you need. Additionally, created a separate lab for our group to accommodate for work schedules.
Chm130 is not an easy class. You must pay attention, focus and do the work. Its not HS. He gives a good amount of extra credit. The videos are great! It can be 1 hour for each, 2 nights a week, but then you go into lecture and should already be 80% competent on the topic, IF you watched and did the problems.
He's the toughest teacher I've ever taken. I had to drop the class right before thanksgiving because I tried my hardest but still was not getting all the material(I'm an A/B student). His grading is really inconsistent and would not recommend taking him. He is really nice though and has a great personality. Only take him if you really get chemistry
Gives lectures through youtube, so you come to class already having gone through the days lecture. Starts the class with a quiz over the days lecture, if you don't finish it in the first 10 minutes, you can compare with others at the end of class for half-credit. Tests are ridiculously hard, but they make the standardized final a walk in the park.
I can sum up Mr Borick in a few words. He Brags about how great he is and treats this students like morons. Don't take his class, you gotta hate this guy. He has the biggest ego.
class is arduous, but takes student effort into great consideration. i can honestly say i learned a lot in Professor Boricks class.
Dr. Borick is an amazing teacher! Very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject, he will make you like Chemistry even more! However, prepare to study and work hard for your grade, his class is not peanuts, but if you show a really good amount of effort he will reward you. Recommended for Chemistry majors!
The biggest issue in this class is that the prof is a distraction. When you need genuine teaching and learning, the last thing you need ego, distraction, and judgment. He definitely has baggage of his own. I had him years ago, and I find him political, egotistical, and not out for a student's best. I appreciated his help, but ego it down, teach.
I took this course as a summer class and it was the most challenging thing I have ever done but honestly it was worth it. To me, organic chemistry was a difficult subject and it can get frustrating at times. Hard work and dedication was the key to succeeding. Tips:Get study buddies, visit the tutoring center, attend lectures, and ask questions.
I can say that Professor Borick is the worst teacher I have ever had. I worked hard the entire semester and though I ended up doing well in the class I felt that I didn't learn anything. After the class had 40% averages on all exams he told us that our entire grade would from our final. He did not write the final which explains why grades improved.
I was warned by several people, including students and teachers, that Borick led a rigorous class, and to beware. At the beginning of the semester I hated him but now he is one of my all time favorite professors! He doesn't warm up to everyone, but if you care about your education and show determination, he will do anything to help you succeed.
You MUST watch online lecture ahead of class, some of which are well over an hour in length, or you won't pass the quizzes he gives at the beginning of each class. He doesn't really answer questions in class, so you have to visit him during his office hours - which conflicted with my schedule. He's nice, but his teaching style didn't work for me.
Mr. Borick is absolutely amazing. I read through some other reviews and DO NOT agree with any of the negative comments. He has helped me and many others get to medical professional schools. He is brilliant and is an incredible teacher. He sings in class and is VERY clear with what you need to study. You would be lucky to have him as your professor.
Q. Who is Dr. Borick? A. He is the guy that will teach you Chemistry if you want to learn it, but also teach you to be a better student in preparation to shine in university. - This is coming from a Graduating Engineering Student at IRA Fulton. The work you produce in his class, especially labs, will set you up to be Top of your class, if you want
Do not take his class. Seriously, there was another chemistry teacher available at the time but I couldn't take his class bc of work. Borick is an egocentric monster who will make you write INSANE lab reports and if you need his help during office hours he berates you. Literally and entire lab of kids failed on his watch. He is the WORST.
