He is the man, he makes everything easy and clear, and if you dont understand talk to him he will bend over backwards to make sure your doing GREAT in his class, but you should, should show up if you do he'll love you and have no problem giving you an A.

Young guy...easy to understand. He's very clear about what you need to do to get the grade you want. Moves at a fast pace. Goes out of his way to help his students. Definitely a good one if you have to take calculus.

I love Mr. Boul. I have never really had a math teacher who had the ability/willingness to help students as much as he does! It's math so you will need to be willing to put in the effort. He is super nice and he really wants everyone to succeed, do not hesitate to ask him for help during his office hours. I highly recommend!

Steve Boul is the greatest instructor ever in the history of math. He will do anything to help you succeed and is always ready and willing for any questions you might have. He's really nice and personal so feeling comfortable in asking for help is so easy. If you get him, you're certainly lucky.

He is an awesome teacher, and is willing to help you no matter what! I went to his office so that he would know that I was trying my hardest and I ended up with an A. The class isn't that hard, but you do need to go to class to understand it.

Steve is beautiful...and british. Math got a lot more interesting this year. But He gives partial credit on all the quizzes and tests so it is impossible for you to do badly. TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!

First of all, Steve is hot. No doubt about that. His class is easy, he drops 4 of the lowest quiz/homework grades and his quizzes come straight from the examples that he gives you in the notes. The tests are the same way. Take him, especially if you hate math!

Great professor. Very willing to help, and lenient with grading. Teaches common sense methods and has realistic expectations. I am trying to get him again for math. It also doesn't hurt that his classes are 75% or more female because they all think he's hot...

Very very helpful. Explains everything clearly and makes sure everyone is caught up before moving on. Always available for help and flexible if you miss a quiz or test. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he's British and beautiful. Who wouldn't want to go to his class? By far my favorite math teacher and favorite professor!

The best math teacher I'v ever had! I hated math before this and I'm doing really well in this class.

I originally was in MAT105 but retook the placement test and got into MAT111. I am not great at math, but not terrible- but Steve was EXTREMELY helpful. He constantly met with me outside of class to make sure I knew the information and it definitely helped come test time. I would highly reccommed getting him as your professor if you can!!

First off, I'm the world's worst math person ever. I absolutely despise math. I would not have been able to pass this class if not for the amount of effort I put into it and being fortunate enough to have Steve Boul. Put in your best effort with this guy and there's no way you cant pass this class. This guy is the best math teacher I've ever had.

Dr. Boul is very helpful and clear when teaching. He always makes sure to ask if everybody understands before moving on, so it's really hard not to understand the concepts taught in the class. He's a really cool guy and he has a British accent!! He also drops the lowest test grade you receive, and he tries his best to make sure everyone passes!

Really cool guy. One of the teachers that you can really develop a great student teacher relationship with and he will know your first name. Excellent Trig teacher but math isn't easy and he does his best to explain it but sometimes outside sources (math lab or tutoring) can help.

Such an easy class. I wasn't actually sure about the attendance policy but kept going... you don't have to if you know the stuff. Steve is super nice and super helpful, though, from what I've observed, for the people who need it! His tests are exactly like his study guides.

He is the best math teacher I have had. I wasn't the best at math but he explained it very clearly and it was pretty easy to pick up. The only thing I would say is don't buy the textbook until after the first day of class(I bought it and then he didn't use it).

Mr. Boul's class is challenging but he is so very helpful. He lets you bring in homework and quizzes and tests to go over them to help you. He wants you to succeed in his class. He will also tell you what type of problems will be on each graded in class assessment. I would definitely take from him again!!

One of the BEST professors I have had at UNCW. He is so organized, helpful, and wants his students to learn. I was horrible at math before his class but ended up getting an A after lots of hard work. He makes math as interesting as possible and is always available if you need any help. Take Boul for Calc!

This calculus class is super easy. The ONLY thing that makes it difficult is remembering basic algebra. Steve is incredibly helpful and he really cares about his students. Steve is very straight forward and does not throw you any curve balls.. tests are exactly like examples given in class. Uses MyMathLab for HW. Drops 4 HW grades & 1 test.

Steve is one of the best professors I've ever had and one of the hottest. Calculus is a very hard class but not if you take it with him. He is very organized and clear in class. The only downside to this class is there is a lot of online homework.

BEST professor Ive had thus far. He practically tells you exactly what to study. The quizzes every week forces you to learn the material. HW takes a while but have multiple attempts, easy 100. Replaces lowest test grade with the final. GO TO HIS OFFICE! He is the most helpful professor and gives practice problems similar to the tests and quizzes.

Steve is a great teacher! He makes math interesting by teaching you how to think not just how to remember something. Weekly quizzes and homework which is not bad. It actually makes you study for the test do if you do decent on both, you will def pass the test. Do not buy the book, only buy the access to online. You will never use the book.

Steve was a great math professor. He really worked to make sure that we understood what he was teaching. His office is always open for questions and extra help. He is a really fair grader and makes concepts seem clear. I plan to take Mr. Boul for future math classes and recommend him if you can get into his class.

I would let him father my children. He is great! His voice will make you want to come to every class. He is always looking for ways to simplify the material for you. He gives test review practice, drops one lowest test grade and FOUR lowest quizhomework grades. He is basically my savior and he made me love math class for once in my life.

You have homework every night and frequent quizzes. I didn't mind it though because otherwise I could not have kept up with the material. I went to class mostly and got an A! He's always there for extra help and encourages you to go to the math lab. I took him for calc too!

Couldn't imagine a better math professor! There are no surprises in this class and he makes it so easy to do well. I didn't want to take Calculus because I am awful at math. I struggled to get a B in college algebra but Professor Boul is a God. He explains everything so well, tells you exactly what to expect for the tests & quizzes, and is always willing to help. I am sitting on an A in the class. Also he plays rugby & has a hot British accent so there's that.

Do yourself a favor and take his class. This is my second time taking calculus. He is clear, consistent and patient. He will take his time answering questions and will never make you feel dumb for asking an obvious question. He is extremely helpful if you go to his office hours, and structures his class in a way that makes passing much easier.

Amazing teacher!! I never been good at math (much less Calculus!) but he was so clear and concise with every lesson, I loved the class! The weekly quizzes were a breeze (he tells you EXACTLY whats on them) & the tests are pretty easy if you study. Aside from academics, Steve is super sweet and helpful. Amazing math teacher! Make sure and start off strong and before you know it you'll coast through the course. Very pleased with the class. Take advantage of the Math Lab and/or his office hours and you'll do fine. Steve is absolutely the best math teacher I've ever had. Although I had Steve at 8am, 3 days a week, I enjoyed every minute of it. He makes calculus so so easy. He breaks everything down into simpler terms and makes everything easy to understand. His accent, calf muscles, and hoop earring make it that much better. By far my favorite teacher I've ever had. God bless this man.

Steve is great! I needed this class for business school and he helped me in anyway possible when I struggled. He made sure I understood and he never judged me for not understanding right away. He gives you chance after chance to pull up your grade and he is incredibly helpful and flexible with sitting down to help you! Highly recommend.

Boul is easily the best professor I've ever had throughout college. I've never had a professor who works as hard as he does to explain everything so his students will fully understand the material. Calculus is a tough class, but he will help you through it. Last 2 pieces of advice: beware of test 3, and whatever you do, don't skip class.

His shoe swag is fantastic, and always note how he wears two undersized T-shirts to hold his rippling muscles. This guy the man, the myth, and the legend. Oh an he's a fantastic teacher, best there is.

If you show up to class and review concepts, it's easy to get a good grade. He will work with you during office hours and offers tons of extra credit opportunities on his tests! Very sweet and handsome professor. I was in a class of 200 and somehow he knew almost everyone's name. MAT 151 is a hard class but he tried to make it as easy as possible. He is very help full at all times. Highly recommend going to office hours, it's basically like another class. He'll even help you during test. He always responds to e-mails also.

Mr. Boul is incredible. As a dual-enrolled high school student taking his class, I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the material. Mr. Boul was incredibly understanding and kind, and always made time to meet with me outside of class, despite the fact that I wasn't a UNCW student.

I'm terrible at math, and was making a low d mid semester, but he worked with me and I got my grade up to a b. He also opens up his home for students that don't have anywhere to go for the holidays. The best teacher I've ever had. He takes the time to learn all 200 of his students names. Math taught very understandably. I was about to drop the class after the first week because I had such a bad math foundation (Failed Pre-Calculus in High School) but he told me that if I used my resources and listened in class every day that I would pass.

It's true what they say about this man, he's amazing. Don't skip class because every day you go over a lot of new material. You have a final exam, but if you work hard and makes all A's on your tests and homework, you don't take the final :). I wish I could have Boul as a professor for every class. You can tell he really cares about his students.

I've always sucked at math. I took calc in high school and didn't do so hot, so I decided to forgo the AP test and take calc again (a horrible decision). I still hate math and am horrible at it, but Boul makes it a lot easier. He's always friendly, caring, and easily accessible for tutoring outside of class. Tests are straightforward no surprises.

Dr. Boul is one of the best professors at UNCW by far. The second week I walked into his office for help and he knew my name out of a class of over 200. This class is not easy by any means, but if you work hard and makes above 92's on all exams, you don't have to take the final. He explains the difficult material extremely well and helps everyone.

He is the man. A wonderful calculus teacher. I slumped really hard half way through, got a 44% on a test but still came out with an A because I was able to pull it together by the end. Never sought help outside of youtube. The homework questions are much harder than the test's. Good notation will have you swimming in extra credit points.

I showed up to the majority of the classes. Learned from doing my homework and provided examples. All these people complaining are less inclined and will likely need a personal tutor because he can't babysit 200 people at once. Looking at the book just confuses with its' formality. So, go to the student center if you must. Practice math more.

Wow. Boul is, without doubt or exaggeration, the single best teacher/prof I have had in my life. If you aren't good at math but need Calculus, get into Steve's class. I would suggest staying away from the book and going to every class instead. He breaks things down into their simplest form and explains precisely what will be on the test, no tricks.

College Algebra is a difficult course if its been a while since you have had math. Steve is a great professor. Presents material in a organized manner that is everything needed on his tests & quizes. Definitely recommend attending every class to stay on top of the material covered in the course because it is easy to fall behind.

Bah-hum bug. Sorry, but I didn't enjoy the class. He is one of the nicest teachers at Uncw & cares for his students but his teaching methods didn't gel with me. Homework online is horrendous. Quizzes most classes. Even after going to his tutoring hours still only pulled out a B-, which was the lowest grade I've gotten so far (I'm a senior).

Stephen Boul was honestly one of the best professors at UNCW. Whenever I had a question he would walk me through the problem and even provide more feedback then most teachers would. Also his lectures and classes were always enjoyable to sit in on. Even if you're not a math major or don't like math you should definitely take a class with him.

Best professor I have had so far. He genuinely cares about how you do. All homework is online through a program called ALEKS, but you can literally go to his office hours and he will help you. With that being said. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! It shows you care and he wants to help you if you're struggling. Stellar man with a British accent!

I saw him recently and he remembered me which shows you how much he cares about his students. He makes sure that he can do what ever it takes for you to understand the subject. He also makes you feel welcomed in and out of class. He holds events outside class with his wife. The character limit prevents me from stating how caring he is.

There are about 9 quizzes and 4 tests. Quizzes are short and easy, tests are long and challenging. The homework is online and took hours for me to complete. Sometimes I couldn't finish. I learned most of the material through the homework. Professor Boul is very understanding. He will do everything he can to help you pass.
