I took his 102 web course. It was pretty easy but you really have to study for the tests!! Overall, it was a great experience.

Calatrello is a wonderful teacher. He is knowledgeable is his field and willing to help out anyway he can as long as you ask. Just remember to do your assingments.

Mr. C is a very enthusiastic person. He definitely loves what he is doing. He is very fair is course expectations and does not waiver from that. He makes the class very interesting, which makes the learning rewarding.

I enjoyed Mr. C's class. He is funny and smart; he knows his stuff. He's tall and hot, too!

All his tests are essays.

His class was pretty simple and he gave ample time to complete assignments. Some quizzes were on topics not covered, but the exams or "learning opportunities" were easy if you study. He was very fair and I managed to do better on Exams than Quizzes!!

Lots of Essays but I like to write so I found it easy. Web based class very flexible very clear. Prompt answers to questions. I enjoyed the class.

His class was pretty good. He gets back to you promptly. He grades fairly. If you take him in the summer prepare to be rushed though.

My first college class in almost 11 years and he was the reason i passed with an 'A'. his guidance, along with instruction made this class easy.

I loved Mr. C's class!is class was a very nice challenge. He told you exactly what you needed to do to successfully complete his class and to prepare you for future classes. I really enjoied his class. I took his class thur webct and even thought I did not see him regularly he was always there when needed.

Mr. C is great. The tests were not hard IF you did your reading. He responded promptly to emails and was very helpful. The last test was more difficult but an exellent prep for Eng. 252 which.

Mr.Calatrello is an exceptional professor. He is competent,caring,motivating and willing to listen and help his students. He's also got a wonderful sense of humor. I give him a two thumbs up!

I had been dreading taking the English classes required to complete my degree - so I waited to take them last. However, Mr. Calatello did an excellent job of making this course interesting, useful and fun. Mr. C is a great teacher! He is very helpful and has been the most accesible teacher so far in my college experience. He is a bit critical on essays.. but this is college, what do you expect? I took him for two different online classes and would take him for more if I could! He is funny, too!

Wow. A brilliant man on understanding and teaching American Literature. He was my first college professor that I truly admired- he's so knowlegeable and funny too!

Mr. C. is very good at communicating with the students via e-mail and discussion boards. All assignments are clear and if there are any questions you know he will respond quickly so you can keep moving through the assignments.

MR. C is wonderful. I was scared of essays when I was a freshman. After 101,102,251,and 252 with Mr. C, I can write on demand now and feel preety good about it. Calhoun has many great professors in its English department and Mr. Calatrello is at the top of the list. Have no fear in taking his classes. You might even have fun!

I enjoyed this class. However, Mr. Calatrello for the most part does not give extra credit and will not alow you to make up missed work. Bottom line, don't screw up even once.

I took this class a few semesters back. Awesome teacher. He reads material out loud in such a way that you can visualize the story taking place. Very good sense of humor. Calatrello is the BEST english or lit teacher that I have ever had. I personally dislike these types of courses, but I did enjoy this one. A+++

I took the course on-line. He was very helpful and "johnny on the spot" so to speak as far as getting back with me about question that I had. VERY GOOD AND HELPFUL TEACHER!

I've been out of school for many years & was very nervous about the prospect -- especially with online courses. However, Mr. Calatrello's English course was a unique blend of technical and personal. His instructions were clear and the assignments were both challenging and fun. It would be an honor to have him as an instructor in the future.

I am terribly spoiled now. He is an awesome teacher even though our communications were limited due to this being a DE class. I wish I had time to take another one of his classes. I recommend him for both ENG 101 and 102.

The only time I have had difficulty with classes is when I take them online, but sometimes my schedule leaves me no choice! I was thrilled with Professor Calatrello. His assignments were easy to follow, communication was great, and my grades reflected what I put into my work. Recommend to anyone!

I loved this class. He was not intimdating, so it was easy to ask him questions about the course. I learned a great deal and enjoyed the reading material. He was very clear on what he expected from the papers. But my favorite thing about Mr. Calatrello is his sense of humor.

Mr. Calatrello was a GREAT teacher! He is rather challenging and expects your best from the class, but he's very fair and helpful. I took him for online English 101. The layout of his class is very organized so it's easy to keep up with assignments and due dates. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!!!

I did not like Calatrello. I was in his online course and he has no idea how to use blackboard. I had to take two of my exams twice because he didn't put them in correctly. He was sometimes unclear in his assignments. I also found it very lazy that he gives the exact same course work to every single semester. He really needs to change it up.

He's so quick to respond to emails, and is so helpful. He's completely understanding and is a great teacher. the online classes have powerpoints and student examples that are also vey helpful. when he emails your paper back, he gives back so much insight. and looks not only at the actual grammatics of the paper. I would definitely take him again.

Took this class online. It was very interactive with great use of the discussion board as well as promptly answered e-mails. His enthusiasm for the subject makes it easy to stay engaged. Would gladly take him again for a lit sequence, but, alas, I'm more interested in English Lit than American. His ENG 102 requires work, but it's well worth it.

Dr. C was a fantastic professor that helped me communicate better. Because of his love for writing, I found a fondness for writing as well. He was very helpful and I learned so much under his guidance.

Great teacher to take!!! I took his class online and he made me feel like I was just as important to him as the students whom he sees face to face. He gives clear directions for all assignments and study guides that tell you exactly what will be on the tests. Do the work and you pass the class. Will be taking a great deal to my next class.

I have Dr. Calatrello right now for American literature. He is one of the most interesting professors I have ever had. It's clear he loves what he does. Very knowledgeable about lit. It's the one class I love going to. Take him if you have the chance.

LOVED Mr. C!!! I took both 101 and 102 online with him and loved the class. 101 was alot of essays, but they were easy and his grading was really fair as long as you understood the assignment. Research paper wasn't hard either. 102 was summer and flew by. Alo of reading but tests were simple. He was also EXTREMELY helpful and understanding!

Dr. Calatrello is the best professors I have had at Calhoun CC. I've been attending there off and on since 2004 and have come across so many that seem to 'phone it in'. Dr. Calatrello is much different. He truly takes an interest in the success of his students. He is also very organized and you know what is expected of you all semester.

He grades you on what you know, so you have to actually read the stories. Lots of quizzes - we had 13 this semester. He usually assigns a lot of stories at one time. He gives you the opportunity to select a question that could be on the test. Big downside is that there are only 3 exams, but the quizzes do help.

Dr. C is a fantastic instructor. Follow his instruction, read the assignments, and you can't go wrong. 3 MLA essays are required, as well as multiple quizzes and tests for each (3) unit. This class is only as good as YOU make it. I gained so much insight and I recommend this class to anyone.

Dr.C is an awesome teacher. He loves his job,I have never seen a teacher so enthusiastic about the material they are teaching. The discussions are interesting and if you do the assigned reading there is no reason you will not succeed in his class. There are several quizzes but he only credits your 10 best. There are 3 exams which are open book/note

Dr. Calatrellos love of literature is contagious; I had no idea what I was missing! Students are not required to buy a textbook; he bought a downloadable copy to share. Dr. Calatrello genuinely cares about his students. The course work for his English 102 class is not difficult, but inspiring. I am not afraid of English anymore!

Good instructor. You can tell he loves teach in this class and that makes the class pretty fun. Lots of reading and but as long as you stay on top of it yiu will do great! Quizzes were easy and fun. Definitely recommend him for 251.

He was a great professor. When the bookstore ran out of the copy of the book I needed, he lent me his. He's very organized and thorough. His video lectures are concise.

I learned from his class which means a lot to me. The reasonable amount of time given for each unit made assignments easy and at no point did I feel discouraged. He is true to his word when he says you can do well in this class while holding a full-time job. Would take him online or in person again.

I took his online class and he is just phenomenal! He is very enthusiastic about what he is teaching. If you have questions you can email him directly through the course on blackboard and his response is very quick. He opens all class assignments the very first day and you can do them at your own pace. wonderful professor!

I took English 102 online. He loads everything for the semester the first day. There are several quizzes for each section with a test for each section and a paper for each section. He gives you a sample paper for the required papers so you know what he is looking for. I recommend him.

This is a great teacher and absolutely loves what he does. He is super enthusiastic when he teaches and is funny. He does give pop quizes almost every single class, but they are easy as long as you read. You also will have a group project, which is a simple powerpoint presentation. His tests are all essays and he is a little tough on the grading.

Dr. Calatrello is a very good English professor. It's not a "gimme" class- you have to work for the grade and he *is* a tough grader on papers- but by no means an extremely hard course either. We had about 9 quizzes, 3 tests, and three 2-3 page papers to write. He is open to changing your grade if you can defend your position with the textbook.

Took Dr. C. last semester and it awesome. Everything is available from day one and he allows you to work at your own pace as long as you meet the deadlines. You can tell he loves teaching. Students complaining about his grading must be weak. Great feedback on papers. would def take again.

I will be honest, I did not put forth as much effort as I should have. However, Dr. Calatrello is a very kind and understanding individual. He replys very quickly via email, and will assist you with any problems you may have. My favorite thing about the course is the honesty he has when he grades your papers. He wants you to succeed. NO EXTRA CRED.

Dr C is AMAZING. He is such a gem of a teacher. He loves teaching and wants you to do well in his class. Everything is open from the beginning. He's very quick to respond to email and offers help in person if needed. I never thought I was good at English/writing but he made me feel confident in my writing ability.

I took Dr. C once on campus and once online. He is the ideal professor. In his classes, you read short stories and choose one to write about. overall the papers were easy, you turned in rough drafts before the real thing to better edit and make a better grade. Worked in groups, class discussions. His office is always open and he is very kind.

He gives what SEEMS LIKE a lot of work, but it's not really. You will need the book, but it's just the 1 you have to get. Reading 2-4 pages a day will go a long way. All of his quiz questions come from reading the book, and the exam questions are the same questions from the quizzes. Don't waste your time with the video lectures.

Professor Calatrello was such a good professor, so much that I am taking him again this upcoming semester! He is fantastic. His class is very organized and laid out well. His lectures are good too and not incredibly boring. I will say though, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! I waited last minute to do a unit and was overwhelmed. Space it out.

Professor Calatrello is the best professor I have had in my three semesters at Calhoun. He is great at what he does. He is organized, gives good feedback, & is just overall a nice guy. I 10000% recommend! I took him 2 semesters in a row because I liked his teaching style!

I took Dr. Calatrello's class last semester (Eng. 251) and now I am in his Eng. 252 course. I admire and respect him so much. He LOVES teaching and makes learning enjoyable. Make sure you read from the assigned reading list, watch the lectures online, and always be prepared for a possible quiz. There is no hidden agenda with him, which I love! :)

Dr. Calatrello is a very nice and funny person. Personally, I do not enjoy literature but he made it entertaining. He does give easy pop quizzes to make sure you read the sections he assigns. Overall would take again. Easy class IF YOU READ!!!! you will not pass if you dont take the time to read any of the lectures.

Dr. Calatrello is basically the ideal professor for an online course. Entertaining and informative video lectures, simplified slideshows, reasonable exam questions, and fair grading on the journal assignments.

Professor Calatrello's ENG102 class is no easy A, but the effort pays off. Expect tough grading on papers, but clear explanations and quick email responses. The quizzes and exams are manageable if you stay on top of the readings. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep!
