Professor Canaday makes english fun. This is an advanced course so people allowed to take it should be able to keep up with the work. Assignments are interesting and due dates were flexible. Do the readings and you will enjoy the course more, grammar gives you easy points!

Cool guy. Knows his stuff with a real passion for english - which means he can get serious with grades sometimes, but if you try you will pass. Very intelligent.

Hard Class, but totally worth it. He is a great professor, and will help you as much as you need it, and he is hot!

Very good and caring teacher. My only peeve was that it was more lecture and less discussion. But great idea about the war pieces including sexuality, sanity/insanity, and universe.

Canaday is a super teaching superstar. If you have to take one class this year take Canaday's. Although he has alot of opinions on things, he will probally listen to yours too unless it's really stupid.

Canaday is an awesome guy, and a really chill professor. I took his PBL course last fall and it was great. It's more outside work, with NO lecture. The only setback was it involved group work throughout the semester, but he was very fair and knowledgeable about the plays we studied.

Canaday is awesome. His class is so much fun and he is HILARIOUS. Take his class if you need it for your major or for an elective.

I think Canaday was a good teacher. He writes a lot of notes on all your papers so you learn easily and can fix your mistakes. The only thing I didn't like was that there was too much homework.

Take this class in the morning cuz his good sense of humor just simply wakes you up. Very chill professor. Just take lots of notes because he doesn't require them, but it will help for the final. The analytical papers were a pain, and he grades them very critiquely so do well on them. His handwriting was terrible when proofreading.

I took his class online and had to drop because it was a lot of work, but before i did i emailed him and he was very helpful and extended a few deadlines but i had so much going on i couldn't keep up. If you like English this is your teacher because he knows his****.

The course is alot to keep up with but Canaday teaching is so unique that its worth the experience

TOTALLY HOT!!! could not concentrate on class...lol. NE ways he was very nice. I was unable to finish the semester with him but for the time I was there, he was helpful!

Canaday is really laid back. I enjoyed his class. I liked that he assigned us a few plays (instead of just novels) and even had us do a 20 minute performance in groups. It was fun. I would highly recommend 121 instead of the 111/112 option. It will save you a class, and I don't think it's any harder.

This professor was AWESOME!! One of the best teachers I've ever had. He was informative, kept things interesting, studied writers who have written very successful screenplays and stageplays, funny and HOT!! In regards to the other comments about his inexperience, he was very in depth about what he did know. GREAT TEACHER!

I took him with a hybrid class..... it was easy but he made it a bit more complicated than it needed to be. He was excellent with helping though! He loves to hear everyones opnions No one is wrong! "The dictionary is full of lies" That was my favorite quote from him. I would reccommend this professor.

Had two professors for this class. Both were excellent, but Prof. Canaday seemed to be more into the material. Has a good sense of humor and displays a lot of knowledge. Show up for class, read the material, and you should easily do well in the class. Ah,and fair warning; you do need to keep a journal.

He is awesome at what he does. He made the assignments clear and was always willing to stay after and answer questions/give suggestions. I would take him again if given the chance. Quite an actor too! Kept the class's attention with random trivia and funny stories. Take him and you will not be disappointed!!!

He was pretty funny and he made the class fun. Wasn't boring at all. Make sure you do the small readings because he gets mad if you don't read and end up failing the tests. The papers are pretty easy as long as you have some idea about what you are going to write. He explained everything pretty in depth and helped with anything you needed.

I had Professor C. online, and while I won't say the class was fun, I am glad he was my professor. Eng. 121 is intense, especially online, but Professor C. is very patient and really made an effort to help out when we needed it. He even sent me a list of sources I could use for my research project. He's a great teacher, but don't slack off.

Good teacher-wish I took him for English 112. Made class interesting. Recommend him for anyone having to take English.

Professor Canaday is probably my favorite college professor ever. I took Intro to Shakespeare - he is hilarious, does obnoxious impressions, jokes around with students and geniunely makes you think. He is challenging but grades fairly. There are a lot of pop quizzes. I think I am going to take his screenwriting class.. just becuase. He's awesome.

He is VERY interesting and funny. I had a really hard time with his papers though. He is a hard grader. Eng is one of my better subjects and my Act English and writing portions are near perfect, but man did I have a hard time with his papers.If nothing else it has furthered my writing a lot. His class was fun. The reading was hard. Dont slack off.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. He's willing to help you and he loves what he does. If you put in the effort you can get a good grade. He has a corny sense of humor...but i thought he was funny. In all he was a great teacher and i would recommend him to anyone who wanted to learn something and didn't just want an easy A.

Very good teacher, I learned a lot with him. It was a challenging class, but he was very helpful. I love that he gave due dates for each part of the 8 page research paper, it made it seem a bit less overwhelming. He could sometimes be hyper and got off topic, but he was fun.

Grades easy on small stuff but on important stuff that have a real effect on grade he grades harshly with no explaining where or why you lost points

Passionate, interesting professor. Clearly cares a lot about English, and invests himself into his subject matter. Likes pop quizzes, which kind of blows. Tries to make it fun with lame jokes and awful accents, but really doesn't need them. Somewhat unclear when grading at time, but will talk with you about anything. One of the best at AACC.

Didn't like his criticism at first, but my writing is awesome now. Thanks to him, my research papers are always As. He really made an impression on my way of approaching papers and understanding reading material. And he's a cutie!

hes very helpful, he knows all the tricks in the book students use [he grades with care], he is a goofball and kind of corny but he was funny to me..if theres a reading assignment due i advise you to please read it ahead so you can pass the quiz the next day.But I dont remember half the course because i was gawking at him lol..

If you're interested in Screen and Play writing then this is a great class and a great teacher to take it with. AND HE'S HOT!!!

Best teacher at AACC. Always eager about what he teaches. Very personable. Passionate. Funny as all get out. I took 2 classes with him and I still email with him about my work. I totally recommend his classes.

Canaday was an amazing professor. He is very personable and in tuned with everyone in the class. Our class sat around like execs in a board meeting so we could all make eye contact and Canaday felt like an equal rather than a superior. He's hilarious, very down to earth and he WILL tell you if your material is less than desirable. 10/10

He was an awesome teacher. You could tell that he knew what he was teaching and that he lives and breaths this stuff. He made Shakespeare come alive and taught it the way it's supposed to be taught.So if you're worried about getting some old guy who mutters on and on in a monotone voice,forget it it's so not him.It's not a giveme A class u work4it.

So glad Canday is the way he is. If I had any other professor for Shakespeare I would have slept everyday, not cared and failed. He absolutely loves Shakespeare and can manage to make you start to like it too. I didn't like that we wrote two 6 page essays, they were too long. Thought I slacked off a little too much but still got an A.

Professor Canaday is the best! He's extremely interested in the subject (Shakespeare), knowledgeable, fun, and absolutely gorgeous. As long as you read and show up to class you are almost guaranteed an A. Ladies, be prepared to be completely distracted, I recommend not looking into his eyes for long periods of time. :P

I can only confirm what other students have already said. Dr. Steven Canaday is a brilliant professor whose passion for the English language is reflected in in his teaching style. This was by no means an easy class; however,Prof. C's poignant insights and wry sense of humor makes it an enjoyable and instructive one.I cannot recommend highly enough!

Prof. Canaday is wonderful! Hard grader, but that's their job. Lots of fun in class, really takes the boring edge off the reading. Very nice and helpful!

Prof C is a great English teacher. He doesn't take much crap and he expects you to pay attention during class, but he's funny and chill at the same time. He knew all of our names and had jokes with all of us- it really felt like he was invested in us & interested in us as individuals. He gives great notes and is very helpful. I got an A. Love him!

Professor Canaday is a great teacher. He is not only funny but he is also cute (for a teacher). He is a tough grader on papers but he will read yours before if you need help. He give pop quizes on the short storys and poems so make sure you read those but if you read them then you will be fine

Prof. Canaday is the best English teacher that I've ever had. Be prepared to work, because the work load was pretty heavy. He's very understanding, rational, and funny, too. My best advice, start on essays when they're assigned.

His class was by far my favorite class at AACC. Canaday is hilarious and he taught me how to write an academic paper (his advice has helped me in most of my other classes). I actually looked forward to going to this class!!

He is a really hard grader but he makes class fun! I worked hard and got a B. Also, he doesn't have any tests during the semester except for the final.

A good teacher, passionate about what he does. That being said he grades very strictly, so if you aren't a naturally good writer, you aren't going to get an A. Sometimes he was a little unclear about what he expected, and the group project way of teaching the class got old fast. It would be a good idea, but we had a girl that didn't do anything.

GIRL. Take this class with Canaday, he'll have you laughing the whole time and at the end, you'll walk out and realize you're now a screenwriter. That's what's up.

ENG 221 is hard, and he has high expectations for papers and the like. But it's a Shakespeare class where you read 7 plays and a ton of sonnets so that goes without saying. Canaday is passionate, hilarious and a wonderful lecturer who is willing to help students. All the praises!

Despite the fact that Canaday makes class fun with his hilarious impressions and corny jokes, I really didn't like him after he destroyed my first paper. But I read the many comments he wrote, and ended up writing A papers from then on. I credit him completely with my ability to write academic papers now. The class is hard, but rewarding!

Prof. Canaday was a pretty cool guy. A very tough grader but he makes you a better writer. He's a bit odd but also interesting at the same time. I got an A for the class but I had to work hard to get it. Expect to read and write a lot in this class.

Prof. Canaday made class fun. It was a lot of work, but he broke down the assignments for us so that we were basically working on individual parts that had due dates. This reduced stress alot towards the end of the semester.

Professor Canaday was my ENG111 teacher in spring of 2004. His teaching methods were so versatile there was not one student he could not resonate with. Encouraged creativity, critical thinking and taught clarity in writing. He had an open door policy, even if you were no longer his student

Amazing teacher. Very motivated and fun to be around. The Sound and the Fury is a tough book and is read in his 121 class. But he makes the process much easier. If you get the opportunity take his class at AACC!

He's hilarious and makes the required reading fun. He goes over how to do papers in detail, so that you're not lost when you have to write them. I went to his office hours twice, and he helped me get on track with one of my reports. He also gives good feedback on reports so that you know what to improve on. This class was a lot of fun and helpful.

Definitely the best English teacher I've ever had. The content we read was actually interesting and enjoyable. He knows everyone's name and makes sure that everyone feels welcome in his class. The ONLY THING was that he never ended class on time and I ended up having to leave early 90% of the time because had a class right after his.

Canaday is the best English teacher I've ever had! The books he selects are really interesting, and his lectures on them are great. He's open to all interpretations, and my class got a really good conversation going each class period. Just make sure you do the readings, write some strong essays, and you'll easily pass.

Professor Canaday is hands down the BEST teacher I've every had. He cares so much about his students, he teaches things that are actually worth learning, he offers so much extra credit, he gives such extensive feedback on every assignment. This class wasn't an easy A but if you read the book you will not have any trouble.

He is very kind and respectful, he also provides extremely detailed and helpful feedback on every assignment. I am not a big fan of reading but the books he picks are riveting. 10/10 :)

I took Professor Canadays intro to screenwriting class 10 years ago for fun and finally got around to finishing my first screenplay. I wrote to him and not only did he remember me but he took the time to read it and gave me 8 full pages of notes. Professor Canaday was such a great professor that I too two of his classes, the readings he gives are tough but he really helps you through the writing process. He is a great teacher, and a great person so I highly recommend one of his classes.

Professor Canaday gave clear feedback which was helpful for corrections and improving grades. The lessons and book material were interesting and class discussions were fun. Participation is necessary if you wish to receive a good grade. He provides plenty of extra credit and is an excellent teacher.

the class is very simple. As long as you read the book that is given and give insight he will like you for that. he emails back in a matter of minutes. He's super sweet and understanding, and if you don't understand something he will research it for you and help you out more.

Proffers Canaday was a awesome teacher it was my first year of college and I was pretty nervous but the way He sets up the class is meant for you to be successful we did a lot of seminars which I enjoyed because I find it easier to talk about things instead of writing all the time and a lot of extra credit opportunities are given aswell

Professor Canaday is the one of the best professors I've ever had. Personally I am not the best reader. When assigned reading I have to use Audible while reading and read sparknotes afterwards. I have a hard time comprehending. Prof Canaday explains every part of the book & explains the meaning with everything. Great grader as well & amazing man.

I took ENG101 with Prof.Canaday in my first semester of college last year, and he was great. He's super helpful, kind, and he wants you to pass his class. The workload is a lot, but not too much if you like writing. (I just don't) He makes class fun and tries to bond with students. He made my first semester less stressful!

He is a great professor for English 102. He provides great feedback hes a very nice person. However the book that he likes and makes you read is the worst book. As I lay Dying was very confusing but he made class fun still somehow. That just proves how much of a great professor he is. I never got bored in English class for once.

There was an assignment due every class and a lot of it was made up of a lot of reading and seminars, that was the hardest part of his class, coming from someone who doesn't like to read. Participation is a huge part of your grade, definitely show up to class. VERY passionate about what he does and the books/text he shares with the class.

Professor Canaday was a great teacher but his course work was very rigorous and it was a heavy load. You will not pass this class if you do not participate in seminar or keep up with the work. If you are a high achieving student with time management you will do great in this class, but if you have a very busy life outside of school you will not.

Professor Canaday makes ENG101 fun and engaging. The workload is manageable, and he provides helpful feedback. I found unstuckstudy really useful for essay prep. Would definitely take his class again!

Professor Canaday's class was probably one of the best decisions I made this semester. This class relies on a Socratic seminar format; participate!! There's a short reading to do every night. My only complaint is he's very forgetful & twice I've had to remind him that he's already graded something he claimed I hadn't turned in. Keep your records.

Although there is heavy reading and lots of writing he makes the class personal and enjoyable. If you don't like talking in front of others I wouldn't recommend his class, it is very participation oriented. Other than that, the syllabus is very organized, offers extra credit, and very understanding. Finish the assignments on time and its an easy A.

Prof C is one of the best professors I've ever had. He gives mountains of helpful feedback on every assignment. There is a decent amount of work for this class though. It will seem difficult if you wait until the last day of the week for everything, but not if you take the time to do it. I would take his class 10 more times if I could!
