An excellent professor in every respect. The class is easy, and there are various extra credit opportunities for the learning impaired. Besides easiness though, you WILL learn something in this class. The things you learn in this class can be directly applied to your love life, sales career, etc. Take this class chump!

This guy is awesome. The material is actually fun when he's teaching it and applies it to the real world in any way possible. He has great powerpoints, and shows many clips of movies to elaborate lessons. One thing is that he has 8 random quizzes, so make sure you dont miss class the wrong day. HIGHLY recommend him!

His tests are not that easy, but they are far from being hard...all you have to do is study from the study guides he gives. You will not regret taking him, he's really great!

SUPER Nice! Social psychology is a class EVERYONE should take...its very interesting. Charman is fair, he knows the subject very well and has a real talent to make you understand the class. There's tests, quizzes and small assigments. No big deal! He's an excellent professor!

GREAT professor. explains everything perfectly and clearly. he doesn't take attendance but it makes the tests 100x's easier if you go to class and pay attention. you dont need to take notes, powerpoints are on webct, but go to class and listen to the lectures. he gives you study guides, if you can't pass i don't know what to say...

This prof is great interesting lecture, good use of multi media and easy to understand. Tests can be a little tricky, but you'll definetley learn in this class. Watch out for the T.A; she incorrectly graded 2 of my short answer portions on tests. I'm sure she incorrectly graded several other students who just weren't paying attention...

Oh he's amazing! I actually wanted to go to class he makes his lectures so interesting! He gives study guides for the tests (which include 2 short answer) Sona Systems extra credit (and other opportunities!) Pop quizzes that are a piece of cake if you go to all the classes. If you go to class everyday, easy A guarantee.

Great professor! :-) I loved going to class. His lectures are very interesting and he's pretty funny. What he teaches in class actually applies to real life, so it's very useful. The 4 (non-cumulative) tests are very tricky, but you'll do well as long as you pay attention in class and study. Textbook is rarely used. I recommend taking this class!!!

Class was interesting and easy to understand. He gives study guides for the tests which help ALOT. there are quizzes based on attendance which are pretty easy if you pay attention. He really knew how to teach well.

#1-test are confusing even if you study a lot #2-he is NOT horrible looking but he is definietly not hot at all. #3-he is cocky which you will notice since he puts examples on the tests based on his "looks" #4 it totally sucks that his TA grades EVERYTHING because she is never in class to really know how it is conducted #5 he explains really good

If you go to class and study the power points, you'll do great in the exams...be prepare for short answers (2) at the end of each exam that are 10 pts from the grade. His lectures are easy to follow.

he only uses the book to pull one or two questions for the exams. he makes his lectures really interesting. he doesnt take attendance but he does give random pop quizes on things he talked about from the pervious class, but they are really easy.

Very easy class that also happens to be interesting. It's easy to remember the concepts because they are things that you can observe in your own life. GO TO CLASS; he gives pop quizzes on the lecture and you'll do amazingly well on the exam if you go and pay attention. Very easy A if you go to class and use the reviews before the exams.

This professor is one of the bests. The man teaches and knows the subject. He explains clearly , and gives lots of extra credit. If you want an A take his class. However the material is not easy but you will learn a lot. So if you are a psychology major I highly recommend him, but if you are not be careful the class is not easy.

Powerpoints are extremely helpful, tests come directly from them. A handful of questions on the test come from the book but they're pretty much basic knowledge. Iclicker is used for participation points. His lectures are amazing, and his charm makes the class even better. He's a cutie! Plus the subject matter is super interesting

Great professor you can tell he enjoys what he does. He teaches from his power points and he actually makes it interesting and you learn from it. Best Psychology professor at FIU.

Makes Intro to Social Psychology a very interesting subject despite talking at a fast pace every once in awhile. Not the hardest nor easiest class, but you must PAY attention to what he says & read the book in order to pass. Tests are moderately ok. Attendence is done with class participation using iClickers. Overall, he's a great professor!

He's super nice knowledgable and funny. his lectures are interesting, and the tests are based purely from the lectures. 1 or 2 questions only from the text book. As long as you do the study guide you can get an A on the tests no problem. the tests are multiple choice and essays. a lot of extra credit options available too.

The pros of the class are that the material is interesting and he is pretty cute. But besides that, I don't recommend this class if you aren't a psychology major. The tests are hard and the TA's who grade terrible. One is more lenient than the other. I studied like crazy and I got a C in the class. Not worth risking your GPA. Trust me!

This is a very interesting class. Charman is humorous and helpful when asked. Test questions are geared more towards concepts and can be tricky but he does provide a study guide and all power points. Good professor and nice guy, his class was extremely engaging. His exams are not as easy as you might think though, they are quite tricky so you DO have to study! He gives 8 points of extra credit which are extremely helpful. I agree with whoever said he was too nice to certain kids, the class went off the rails a lot, it was quite distracting.

By far the best professor I have ever had in a college course. He is very passionate in the way he teaches and by doing so makes you interested. His tests are not easy but going over his review and slide by slide of his PowerPoints is basically all you need. Gives SONA extra credit & the quizzes are fully rewarded just for showing up (30 points).

He actually makes his lectures interesting, and shows you how to apply concepts to real life sitiuations. His tests can be a bit tricky but if you understand the concepts it's easy! He also gives in class quizzes and extra credit to help your grade out. the only thing that sucks is that he doesn''t round up your final grade even if it's a 93.9!

If you're looking to take a class with a professor who isnt out to make your life difficult, then TAKE THIS CLASS WITH DR. CHARMAN. He is honestly one of the greatest professors I have ever taken. His exam reviews are the exams, just worded differently. His quizzes are unannounced, but you get full credit just for taking them. Easiest A ever.

His lectures are interesting, and he's pretty funny. HOWEVER, he is a tough grader. He expects you to understand the concepts, memorize the definitions, and use specific words, or he takes points off for everything. Takes attendance by quizzes (automatic A). There is extra credit.. Professor charman's class is very interesting, he is a great speaker. His tests can be tricky so you need to put effort into reading the chapters, paying attention in class and taking notes. He gives extra credit research study participation and papers, also gives gives quizzes but you get the points based on participation not correctness.

The tests are really tricky. The lectures are interesting + he's a nice guy but he wants you to apply each concept to everything in real life. The info is clearly explained and applying it seems easy but he words the questions very articulately. Its lot of info. He does not curve. Its bs getting a bad grade for a class not required for your major.

He's a very good professor and presents the material in a digestible manner while keeping it interesting. He gives extra credit for participating in SONA studies and gives out pop quizzes, but they are for participation. His tests are a little bit tricky so you have to really understand the material and stay on top of the study guide.

Classes are interesting for sure, but he often times makes things more complicated than they really are.. Exams are ridiculously hard, u have to be very careful with every answer u pick. also exams are 35 points multiple choice and 15 points written. so yeah, not fun!

Super clear and concise. Very thorough and helpful. Took it in the summer there was 3 tests, a 5 question quiz every class day and 2 home assignments. If you come to class every day and do the study guides you will pass.I got an A!

The text is good, but only 3-5 questions on each test cover book material, so you can pass the class without reading the book. His tests are based on his lectures, which are awesome, so you really don't want to miss class. He gives two assignments, the first is easy-1 paragraph, and the second is 3 pages. Fun and engaging guy, easy extra credit.

I recommend this guy to everyone. His lectures are entertaining and he knows how to keep you engaged. Attendance is not mandatory and 8 extra credits are offered. In-class quizzes are graded upon completion. You can miss up to 3 out of the 10 and still receive full credit. He provides study guides and EVERYTHING on them is on the exam. TAKE HIM!

Really easy class. Consists of 9 random top-hat quizzes (participation not right/wrong) he drops 6 of them. 2 easy assignments, and 4 exams. Book isn't needed, there are only 2-3 questions on each exam that come from the book. It says (text-book question) on the exam. He does a great job in keeping class entertained.

Dr. Charman is super cute. But his tests aren't!! There are 4 tests and 2 easy assignments. His tests really really make you critically think. You will definitely need take lots of notes and study a lot to get a good grade. Charman also cares about his students. And he makes the class fun and interesting!! Extra credit is offered, too.

Good professor, enjoys teaching, clears out anything you have trouble understanding. You get a study guide for each exam but the information on the study guide is not directly accurate to the exam DO NOT STUDY off that because you will fail. He is a tough grader, you will NOT learn by definitions you actually need to know the concept and examples.

Definitely one of my favorite teachers! It's obvious that he loves what he's teaching and makes sure you understand the concepts. He puts the lectures online BUT I really recommend going to class as he gives more details and examples and pop quizzes. Exams are mostly based off of review + some questions from the textbook. Professor Charman truly cares about his students understanding the material. He welcomes all questions and truly tries to answer every single one of them. I recommend copying down the powerpoint lectures before hand to get the best notes you can. You really have to study for the exams. I found this class to be very interesting and i learned a lot.

He is a great professor. You do not necessarily have to shop up to class in order to pass and his tests are not too hard (but you do have to study for them). He is not a tough grader and does give extra credit opportunities. The only thing he does not do is give you extra points if your grade is on the borderline. I recommend you take his class.

He is a doll. He never leaves any room for confusion and I always feel extremely prepared for exams. He provides practice questions before each test and is explicit about which material will be covered. Go to class, pay attention during lectures, read the textbook when you can, and you will do well. This class was amazing, and truly the best professor I have taken to date. I love the subject and his way of teaching is incredibly interesting. He responds fairly quickly to emails, and hes very flexible when it comes to make up exams, and if youre communicating, you can work something out. I would definitely take a class by him again!

hybrid - We had a total of 4 exams, 10 random quizzes during class time (you were not able to make them up but he does drop your lowest 4, and assigns 3 random assignments. The class wasn't difficult nor challenging as long as you attend class and pay attention you will be find. He's a great professor, friendly, smart and passionate to teaching.

Greatest professor ever. ACTUALLY cares for his students, his lectures are extremely interesting, few assignments, tests are straight forward. Professor Charman was more of a friend than a professor, he is extremely funny and makes his course super fun to go to. DO NOT PASS UP THIS CLASS

Honestly, probably one of the best professors I've had at FIU so far. Super engaging lectures, easy to grasp material, super lenient and caring. I wish I had put more effort into the class. This is a super easy A with a really cool professor as long as you actually take notes and show up.

The class is relatively easy. He gives amazing lectures with plenty examples. The class is about understanding concepts rather than just memorizing. Attendance is not mandatory, yet I strongly recommend attending class if you want to pass. Most points come from exams, so study and do good on exams and you'll definitely pass. Plenty of EC.

I love Dr Charman he is so funny and engaging in lectures. It is always a pleasure to go to class and learn. He is passionate and smart, knows what he's talking about. Uses plenty of real world examples to help students grasp the subject. 3 homework assignments the entire semester and plenty of extra credit. Wish every class I took was with him.

Some might say that they found this class hard. However, the class really isn't hard as long as you go to lectures and actually pay attention to everything he talks about. Theres 2 easy assignments and lot of EC I found his tests really easy, as long as you paid attention, wrote notes, and do the study guide for the exams(4), you'll get an easy A!

Professor Charman is a great professor! There's four tests, two assignments, and a couple pop quizzes during the semester that count for completion. As long as you take notes and do the study guides you should be able to pass the class. He also offers extra credit at the end of the semester!

this is my first review, and it's just because he deserves it. He's the best teacher I've taken in all my years of college

For summer: 3 tests (50 pt ea, multiple choice + frq), 2 easy assignments (10 pt ea), quizzes every class (30 pt total) (graded on participation only), and up to 10 extra credit points with SONA. All his PowerPoints will be on canvas and you will be responsible for reading the book since 4 or 5 questions in every test are solely textbook-based.

This professor is the best case scenario. I took him during summer, and whilst the class is diluted into 6 weeks, it did not feel rushed. Still, I recommend taking him in the fall or the spring, because you're gonna wanna learn and sit with this info for longer than 6 weeks. And take him IN PERSON! He engages better when we are physically there.

this is my first time rating a professor but wow. He is quite literally the best professor i have ever had. Amazing lectures, keeps everyone entertained, seems like almost no one skips this class cause its always packed.he offers makeup exams, offers extra credit, its so easy to get a hold of him, he is just great overall.

Best professor youll have here. There are 4 tests and 2 assignments. His lectures are so good you wont even have to study that much afterwards. He is caring, hilarious, and wont move on if you have any questions. 10/10 do recommend.

AMAZING professor! Dr. Charman is very passionate about what he does and it is clear to see! His lectures are very very engaging and he is absolutely hilarious. Take good notes, read them over, and then study the study guide over and over for the exams and you will do great on them! 10/10 would recommend him as a professor.

I like to describe myself as a lazy person. However, this class is extremely engaging and super interesting that you actually want to learn the material. Grades are 4 exams, 2 easy assignments, and Top Hat. This is the first time I can say I would actually take someone's class again.

Legit best professor I have ever had. If you fail, its 100% on you. Attend lectures and you're set. I studied 1< hour right before every test and finished with a 100% in the class. (Easy extra credit options too)

He's a wonderful professor! I took him for summer B and struggled a little, because I was just going back after a long break but managed to pass. He gives you everything you need to be successful, all you have to do is study.

Super engaging which made the class fun! I took the class during summer which consisted of 3 exams and quizzes almost every class (based on completion through tophat). He's very good at making sure you understand the material and is interactive. 10/10 Professor I wish I could have him for more of my classes!

He is amazing!!! His lectures are so interesting and you genuinely learn a lot. I took a mini summer session so a majority of the grade was based on the exams. However, if you pay attention to his lectures you will do fine on the exam. Definitely one of the best professors I have had at FIU.

Genuinely such a great engaging professor; his lectures were so interesting and fun, I would totally take him again. Only 4 exams and 2 class assignments (all of which are super easy), but there are 10 mini tophat quizzes sprinkled throughout the semester, so be sure to go to lectures (a lot of the examples he says in class are on the quizzes!).

Took him for social psychology and he was an amazing professor. He cares about his students and explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand. Your tests are what matter most. There were 4 exams and 2 assignments. There were some extra credit opportunities, he also answers emails quickly. I felt like I learned something new every class

This professor is great! His lectures are engaging and I learned so much in this class. The course is graded based on 2 out of class assignments, 4 exams (one dropped), and 10 pop quizzes for participation (6 graded). You can get a lot of extra credit in this class. The exams are pretty easy as long as you study and take notes during lectures.

The professor is engaging and makes the lectures fun. Lots of extra credit opportunities, but attendance is key. I found Unstuckstudy really helpful for quick study prep between classes.

this professor was absolutely amazing. he was super chill, explained things really well, and he was really funny. attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't go then it'll be harder for you to understand. i took this class as a dual enrollment student and i loved it. if anyone says he's not good, don't listen to them they're haters. 11/10 recommend
