Brother Clark has helped me to feel the sprirt. He challenged us to read the whole book of mormon, and it is wonderful! My testimony is growing in this class. He likes to open class with a hymn, a prayer, and testimonies.
Brother Clarke is awesome. I always feel the spirit in his class. Everyone feels welcomed and important, he also has some funny jokes that makes himself laugh at, but makes everyone laugh as well. Very recommended
He's REALLY REALLY light and fluffy. TOO light and fluffy. There is no real solid doctrine taught, just helps you to feel good. Awesome guy...but you won't learn anything. He hardly opens the scriptures.
He is very interesting and always has really interesting discussions. I learned a lot and recieved some really good insight.
I love Brother Clark! He is among the best teachers I've ever had. This spirit is so strong. Wow, he is just great.
Brother Clark is awesome, even if his class is difficult (at least to begin with). He's a great teacher and a wonderful influence. Your life will change.

I believe Brother Clark to be a good person, but I believe his teaching methods need drastic improvement. There was absolutely no structure in his lessons. Nearly 45 minutes of my one hour class was spent singing hymns, listening to recycled testimonies and hearing VERY random stories from Brother Clark. I learned close to nothing about missionary work, missionary life, mission expectations or the scriptures. I left his class very disappointed.
I had him for Mission Prep, and he was an awesome guy who really cared for his students. Highly recommended.
Brother Clark was my favorite teacher this semester! What a wonderful spirit he invites into class every day! He puts great emphasis on scripture study and journaling, and strongly encourages applying what we learn in class to everything we do. Take this class before your mission!
This man teaches by the spirit. He has prepared me so much for my mission and I only had him for a block. If there is anyone you should take while your in college it is him.
Bro. Clark is an amazing teacher. If you have ears to hear, take this class. It requires a lot of personal investing. Don't think that you can walts into class and be spoon fed, you must activly seek to hear the message that is being taught, and it's very powerful. I feel much more prepared for my mission after taking that class! AMAZING TEACHER!
Here are the facts. All his classes are about the same. His deal is you read an hour a day. If you do, you get an A. His classes are not very structured. He mostly shares spiritual stories. His class is easy, just read your hour a day because its hard to catch up. GREAT TEACHER!
Very nice guy, did not like class. No structure. It was a missionary prep book of mormon and some days we did not even open the scriptures. It was a story telling class. Most of the time, people just told stories of all the wonderful things they have done. It went a little overboard. Again, nice guy, bad class.
You get what you put into the class. I rather liked the lack of former structure, because it made it more like a discussion group than a typical academic class. He prepares you well to rely on the Spirit to get things done. I've never been so motivated to do so much for one class! He only requires a few things and everything else is up to you!
Great teacher! Amazing personality and I loved what I learned!
Amazing! Such A good teacher and so helpful!
HE IS SOOOOO AMAZING! i love him :) he really makes you think and the class goes by so quickly its actually a shame...you really learn alot and want and actually want to! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME :)
This class was a waste of time. I took this class because i was engaged. We never spoke about the covenants that we were going to be making. He never lectured from the scriptures, he just shared personal experiecnes. his wife taught with him and she was much better than him. I was very dissapointed overall
If you want an easy religion teacher he is the man. There is nothing worse than a religion teacher that thinks they have to be your hardest class. Really nice guy.
Very Good
Steve Clark is an awesome teacher. He makes you work hard and put forth effort, but it is all worth it. This class really prepared for me for my mission. I would recommend this class for any prospective missionary.
This class was a joke. There was no class structure, teacher often came late and sometimes not at all. He didnt distiguish between true doctorine and his own thoughts and ideas. I didnt learn anything new about the new testament.
This is the last religion class I had to take to graduate and it was the worst. All your graded on is reading an hour a day seven days a week. Most of the time the students do all the teaching and talking, Im not sure what he is getting paid for. It was two weeks before we even opened the new testament. Hes nice but should be teaching seminary.
Brother Clark is the best teacher I have ever had. He really knows how to utilize and invite the Spirit so that the Spirit is doing the teaching. He also makes wonderful use of the honor code. This class changed my life and I HIGHLY recommend it.
This class was by far the stupidest class I've ever taken. Every day of class is the same: Bro. Clark shows up late, we sing stupid songs for 20 minutes, then have prayer and testimonies for 15 minutes. After that Clark just starts saying things he hopes will sound inspirational, hoping nobody will realize he never prepares a lesson. It's pathetic.
Bro. Clark is an amazing man. People rag on the lack of structure in his class. Regardless, he follows the promptings of the spirit and if your in it to learn, YOU WILL. I've come out of his class motivated to be a better person countless times. Take it if you want to learn by the spirit, not a strict syllabus
Brother Clark doesn't have much structure. His main goal is to get his students to listen and feel the spirit and to record those spiritual things in a journal. Attendance and readings combined with journal entries make up grade. He makes it more of a discussion so be ready to participate, because if nobody participates then becomes a drag.
I really enjoyed brother clarks class. Although a lot of my classmates didnt enjoy it, it seemed to me that they didnt really enjoy religion either. As long as you try to get the work done (be prepared to read an hour a night, thats the only requirement he has) you will pass the class easily! I would take another of his classes in a heart beat
A class with NO tests, quizzes, speeches, projects, or research pprs! This was great for me, whats more fun than gettin to read your scriptures everyday as an excuse for HW. plus after 17 credits its nice to have an easy class during the day. only ppl i knew that didnt like the class didnt like reading their scriptures.
he's a nice guy, he teaches with his wife (who kinda takes over the class) and he gives quite a bit of homework. honestly he's kinda too kind - but i'm kind of a person that can only handle so much warm fuzzy feeling lol. he's nice just too nice for me.
What a waste of time! He spends a solid 20-30 min. singing stupid sing-a-long songs that he has made up! Only about 15 min. of the hour long class is spent remotely talking about the subject material. If you are wanting a teacher who makes going to their class worth your while, do not take this one!
Brother Clark is a really sweet guy, this is an eternal marriage class and he teaches with his wife. She seems to know more and usually will take over the class in a teaching manner, he will add inputs of spiritual thoughts and ideas. He has no tests, quizzes, etc. Just read out of your manual every night. Easy but not sure i wanted that easy.
*THIS IS HOW IT IS* He comes late, spends 10 minutes singing, has testimony mtng after hymn, talks about random things for another 25 mins or has us tell us what we've learned from our daily hour long reading. Doesn't prepare for class and has us read 1hr a day. No test, easy A class. I'm an RM and EQP, I like religion but this was a horrid class.
An absolute waste of time. I learned nothing in this class. Brother Clark is a great person, but a horrible teacher. If you are looking to gain an edifiying experience go elsewhere. It was painful to go to class each day.
I absolutely hated this class. It was a huge waste of my time, and a giant disappointment. He came late quite often, and then we would spend 25-30 minutes singing stupid songs that he had made up all on his own. The Spirit, if you got lucky enough to feel it, would quickly disappear from inappropriate comments from Bro. Clark. It was a nightmare!
Hymn, prayer, and testimony meeting usually takes 10-15 mins or more. Usually started class late. Easy class but had to read for an hour everyday. Not much digging into doctrine or history, a lot of personal anecdotes. Sweet guy, gives you some spiritual uplift for the day but not a lot of meat.
Worst teacher EVER. I took his 211 online class. He does not respond to emails. He sends mass emails after a couple weeks of complaints. He forgot about our class COMPLETELY. He forgot to post our midterm, quizzes and journal entries. He needs to fix my final grade and he won't respond. Ridiculous quizzes ever other day. I could keep going. RUN NOW
this class changed my life.
Worst teacher in the World. Constantly late and unprepared for class. He is very opinionated so if you are too you probably should avoid taking a class from him.
Bro Clarke is a horrible religion teacher. He is always late for class and always lets out class late and there is not structure to his class. He just rambles the whole time and you won't learn anything in this class. He is really easy but it isn't worth it to take his class. Do not take Bro Clarke!
Class is a little bit of a joke. Most days he doesn't even really teach anything. He says that he likes class discussion but it is never related to the class material. He does require an hour of reading and journal writing every night. At the end of the semester he has interviews with every student to talk about your journal.
Brother Clark loves his students. But he does come to class a lot of times late and unprepared. If you want an A in his class, you will have to read scriptures an hour a day and write in what he calls a "spiritual journal."
I took his preparing for Eternal Marriage class and I really enjoyed it. He's a great teacher and the class was fun.
I wish I could say I learned something in this class, but honestly I didn't. Instead we sang songs and told stories for about 50 minutes and, if we were lucky, 10 minutes of that hour would be devoted to the topic. He's a very nice guy, and is willing to help you out, but if you want to actually LEARN something, this class isn't for you.
Bro. Clark was a great teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed his classes. He was great about keeping in touch through emails and responded quickly. The class was easy but I learned so much from him. The songs and testimonies definitely set the mood for the class. He is such a positive, happy person. I would definitely take another class from him.
Bro.Clark is a kind man with uplifting, fun stories. His class is like a breeze it goes where ever the wind blows it. If you are a free spirit and hate structure this class is for you. He is extremely unorganized; his expectations are confusing and change frequently. The only assignment is to read & journal for an average of 1 hour everyday. Easy A
Class is a waste of time. The HW (1 hour min. of reading and journal) is a good practice. HE doesn't have lesson plans, he just likes to talk and make jokes. Happy nice guy but I expected more from a college class then "read one hour a day and come in twice a week for personal story time". I would not recommend this class.
This class is boring and useless beyound belief. Me and fiance never wanted to go to class because we didn't learn a thing about marriage the entire semester. It's so boring we had to bring in other homework to keep us occupied so we wouldn't fall asleep. Avoid...
Bro. Clark is a very nice man. But he is a pretty bad teacher. I didn't learn much of anything that I didn't already know and he was constantly late. His wife took over the class as well. I could have just bought the manual and saved myself the useless credit.
Easy going, caring, and understanding. Tends to laugh at his jokes before the punchline. It's a easy class, you are graded at the end of the semester on your daily journal and the amount of entries you have. The class tends to be very boring and at some times, pointless. We sing, have testimony meeting, and then discussion till class ends. If you are looking for an easy A, take any religion class from him.
Brother Clark is an awesome teacher! There is rarely homework to worry about. He teaches by the spirit and his lessons are always worth while. I highly advise taking from him.
LOVED his class, he always would teach by the spirit and that is what was most helpful. Sometimes he would go off on tangents, but they were always interesting. Not much homework besides journal and reading. Good class!!
Brother clark is amazing! the only homework is journals and reading which is super easy and he is willing to help you on anything if you go talk to him and he isnt generic he really teaches with the spirit and not from the book. he actually doesnt make you buy a book at all! i am taking him again for as many classes as possible he is GREAT!
Brother Clark is a wonderful teacher. We haven't used the book yet, but I've learned so much. He is very compassionate and helpful if you just talk to him. Bro. Clark teaches by the spirit. I leave that class feeling so much better than when I came in. :)
It's more my fault than Brother Clark's, but I didn't learn anything in this class. There were some days that I would feel the spirit, but the majority of the time, I felt it a waste. We would sing songs (that he made up) for half the class and then have testimony meeting for the other half. Plus, there was an hour of required daily reading.
He has you read the book of mormon and journal for 15 minutes and then read the manual for 45 making a total of an hour study each day required. He is a good teacher, I enjoyed the class, but didnt feel to learn much nor have any spiritual experiences. I might take from him again, but not for a while.
Bro. Clark is so tight! You have to really put your heart into this class--he requires you to read the BOM in 2 weeks! Very rewarding if you really read it. Definitely great prep for a mission. I'm a girl and I took mish prep when I was 19.. really helpful class in strengthening my testimony. Take this class!!
This class changed my life. Brother Clark is nothing but totally amazing. Take this class if you truly want to prepare for a mission. Brother clark's testimony will change your life.
A very easy teacher, but I found it hard to focus, and we rarely stayed on subject. I got more out of the scriptures from my personal read. However, if you enjoy spiritual experiences, I think you'll have a good chance there. Testimonies every class were really nice, if not on subject. Really nice guy, but I wasn't a fan of his teaching.
One of the best teachers I had my entire college career! You get out of this class what you put into it. Bro Clark helped me foster my testimony of and my love for Jesus Christ. He didn't do it for me. I studied and memorized more scriptures during this semester than anytime before. I am a better person for having taken this class.
This was the worst religion class I have ever taken. Neither him or his wife seemed to have the ability to stay on topic. Everything seemed to be at random, and a huge waste of my time and money. I didn't learn a single thing from this course, and I would never take it again from them, or any other religion class. You've been warned...
Brother Clark is Either the BEST teacher for you or the hardest. All he asks is that you study an hour a day and show up to class. Depending on how much YOU decide to apply (honestly apply), you will have either the greatest spiritual class or the dumbest. D&C 58:26-27 is the class' theme.
This man doesn't even pretend to teacher from the old testament. His method of teaching is to have students in the class take up the whole period talking about whatever they have been studying throughout the week despite whether it his part of the old testament or not and personal conviction stories. A testimony class at best. no knowledge of OT.
Anyone who says they didn't learn anything in Br. Clark's class doesn't understand how Gospel knowledge is gained. Not by teaching in class, but personal study. Br Clark invites then, allows his students to search ponder and find answers from the spirit then he gives his insight as asked. Great class.
Brother Clark is a great guy but he cant stay on topic. Plan on spending the first 20-45 minutes of class hearing a testimony from the same person every week, and Bro Clark's ramblings. Bro Clark is obsessed with conference talks and devotionals so you almost never get into the actual class material. It is way too much work for a religion class.
He is such a sweetheart! Nice guy who genuinely loves his students. You have to keep a journal the whole semester and then there's a final, but as long as you do the readings/journals and participate a bit, you'll be fine.
This class was the BEST religion class I have taken. Bro. Clark is awesome! He is so spiritual and I learn a lot from his class. You have to keep a journal and read an hour a day, which isn't that hard. It helps you get in the habit of scripture study. It's a pretty easy class. Bro. Clark loves EVERYONE and everyone loves him. He is the best!
If you are looking for an easy class take this one. I believe he means well but basically every class period starts with some kind of conference video then we sings songs that he has put other words to. Then about halfway through class you say a prayer and then have a testimony meeting for fifteen minutes and then he says some stuff and class ends.
IF YOU WANT AN EASY CLASS THIS IS IT! bro C is such a nice guy! SO SPIRITUAL! a little unorganized but it doesn't matter because their are hardly any assignments.
He started the class with a 2 week Book of Mormon read- i listened on my ipad. Said to read an hour a day and write in our journals- I didn't do this sang song alot but they were made up and you can't ever remember the words. testimonies were good, i did not look forward to class.
Brother Clark was one of my favorite teachers! He was very interested in his students' views and opinions. He was a very helpful teacher. Such an inspired man! I absolutely love that man!
Brother Clarke does not give you any tests. He requires you to read an hour a day and write journals. He believes that true learning about the gospel comes from individual study. He is different from other religion teachers.Easy A if you will just do what he asks to do. Brother Clarke is a great man. I give him my sincere respect.
Brother Clark was a good teacher. With any class, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. Take notes in class- I would highly recommend. What I appreciate about Brother Clark is the fact that he listens to the spirit and says the things the spirit tells him to say. I wrote down some things that have sincerely changed my life.
Bro. Clark's class represented my introduction to my Ricks College experinece, back in the summer of 1997. He was an awesome guy...loved his stories. Great discussions...still remember scripture mastery songs he taught. One of my classmates would later become my MTC comp., and is today a great friend...keep inspiring future generations, Bro. Clark!
There are tons of people who like Brother Clark. I took his Preparing for Eternal Marriage class with my fiance and we hated it. His wife helps him teach and they spent the whole time trying to talk over each other. Reading and journaling are required but you can easily get away with not doing it. Its an EASY class I just didn't like his teaching.
He teaches with the Spirit like none other. I LOVE Brother Clark. Mission prep with him was hands-down the best class I've EVER taken, and I have him to thank for it.
It was a super easy class but the class was mostly discussion that end up in arguments and I learned nothing.
What a great teacher! Inspiring us to gain a greater witness of the Lord's love and to share it with each other was a great way to strengthen our confidence and desire to share it in the mission field.
I was extremely disappointed. I would compare this class to listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. You'll feel the spirit, but you won't really learn anything or get anything out it. It was all over the place with no real lesson plan. Personal study was whatever you wanted, so people would just share random things so we never got anywhere.
Love the stories he tells.
Brother Clark is a good guy, but not much of a teacher. I felt like a lot of time was wasted with the class and we weren't really held accountable. I decided one week to not do any of the reading assignments to see what kind of grades I'd get, it was all given A's as if I had. That obviously took away the incentive to really try.
Brother Clark is one of the most kind hearted teachers I have ever had. He truly loves the gospel and loves each of his students. However, I don't feel I really benefit from the class. We just read powerpoints and talk. There's no real outline. Also, the homework is to read for an hour each night which is so timely. Sweet man, not my favorite class
I didn't enjoy Brother Clark's lectures that much, maybe it was because I had his 7:45 a.m. class. The only thing he grades you on is reading the BOM for an hour everyday and writing in your journal. I thought that was crazy at first, but it really helped me gain my own testimony and develop the habit of reading.
Real nice guy. Im not too good with unfocused classes so I wouldnt take it again. There isnt any real curriculum, he goes through his slides and talks about whatever. The assignments are simple, everyone could get an A if they showed up and did the homework.
Brother Clark is such a good teacher. I took his Preparing for Eternal Marriage class and I loved it. He made you feel so special and really helped me learn a lot. If you ever needed help with something or needed to ask him a question, he would always be there to help you. Such a sweet and caring man. Definitely take a class from him.
Never take Bro. Clark for any reason. I counted the days till his class was over. It was a lot of busy work and his lectures were horrid. He was insensitive to students time and sensitive subjects such as suicide and depression. I honestly felt that he had no idea what he was talking about most of the time.
FDREL 200 was a lot of busy work, but the lectures with brother Clark made them better. If you do your assignments you should get an A. He really is super sweet and caring. He lets the spirit guide the classroom, and is always inspirational.
If you like sitting in a classroom and hearing stories or testimonies every single day, this class is for you. If you want to get more out of your Book of Mormon reading than just hearing people's testimonies, or weird family stories, don't take this class. Otherwise, he is very sweet and friendly, and loves everyone. I really like him.
Sweet guy, had lots of great stories to share. But honestly I hated his class, it was very boring and I don't feel like I learned anything that I didn't know already. He has very strong opinions, and sometimes bashes those who did not serve a mission, I would often skip his class because it would get to be too much.
He is an okay teacher. He asked us to read A HOUR, ONE FREAKING HOURS everyday which is way to much for a 2 credit class. Then we have to meet with him at the end of the semester which is a waste of time. He says "the journal is not a grade," but then he turned around and said it is! Totally a waste of time. Great guy but ask way too much.
Very loving and he means well, but there's LOTS of busy work, the lectures feel all over the place, and I didn't feel like I learned much being there. He likes to guilt trip you if you're looking at your phone, his grading criteria is kinda confusing - I wouldn't take him again but don't be afraid to eithr. If he's your only option it was bearable.
Brother Clark is an amazing teacher! I really enjoyed his class. He has such a great personality, and he definitely cares about his students! I have learned so many valuable things in this Preparing for Marriage class! You do have some final projects that are due at the end, but Brother Clark is awesome, and I would totally take his class again!
Bro. Clark has no idea how to teach a religion class. He's a good guy, but it takes more than that. His lectures are sporadic and have no direction, with false doctrine by students' comments going uncorrected. He is very unspecific about the homework/projects. The course assignments are just reading out of an online manual, and are never revised.
If you are looking for a class where you are going to be learning the historical or philosophical context of ancient religion, you are not going to want to take this class. That said, Bro Clark is extremely spiritual, and if you want to take a class to gain an insight to the nature and love of God, he is in a class of his own. I would recommend.
Brother Clark is an amazing teacher. I've been in his class for two semester and it makes me want to be in his class again! You have an interview with him so that he can get to know you at the beginning and the end. Throughout the semester there were papers due every class, but they were short one page papers on our insights about the reading.
Brother Clarks a nice dude, but you have so much busy work due every class period. Most of my hw time this semester was dedicated to this religion class. His lectures were incredibly dull, and his final projects were difficult to understand what exactly you had to do, its really a guessing game
Brother Clark doesn't know how to work I-learn. So, we were doing things that were not needed. He didn't teach me anything this semester. He gets off topic a lot and rambles about random things. His comments are also kind of judgmental toward students. He also has you sing songs that he has made up, which is weird.
I really enjoyed taking a class from Steve Clark. He let you know exactly what was expected of you, and didn't take any whining or excuses. This class was a good medium load; not too hard, not too easy. He is very engaging in class and has a wonderful way of speaking. I would most certainly take a class from him again.
