Mr. D is a fun teacher, but you really have to study for his class or you will NOT do well. He expects a lot, but he helps a lot too. He has a great attitude, but sticks to his rules through out the class. Fun, but hard work is the only way to keep him happy. Overall very enjoyable (if you don't mind studying) He also likes to do study groups!

Mr. D is great, but he's not kidding about reading the book! He's very friendly and helpful and even makes time for study groups, but he doesn't always cover all the material that will be on the test during his lecture so you have to read the book. He also likes to get side tracked, but his class is certainly NOT a boring history class, Enjoyable!

Mr D. really loves history and will try to get the class involved as much as possible. His tests are really hard (50 MC and 5 definitions of vocab) and studying is a must, but if you put in the effort you will come out of the class with a good grade and a whole lot if information.

I recommend taking Mr.D! He makes class interesting since history can get boring sometimes. Don't come in the class ready to slack..you def. have to study but if you put in the effort you come out with a good grade.

If you come to class and read your chapters you will do great. Hes funny and laid back, def recommend!

Prof Digerlando is a fun professor to learn from; he has a love for the subject material, and seems to have a personal interest in and knowledge of the people that he discusses - bringing the characters to life. Can't slack off in his class, however, if you want the good grade; but he will help in any way he can. A++

Best teacher EVER!

This guy is great! He knows his history and makes it fun. History is a required course so for those that dread this class, take Mr. D -- he will make it fun and interesting and you pretty much have to try to fail. He is funny and I just wish he taught more classes!

Mr. D is a awesome teacher I took him for 1301 and I am taking him again for 1302. He makes the class fun and he will creep you out cause he know how everyone in history dies. He lectures using powerpoints then posts them on his website. I studied using just the powerpoints and made A's on his tests(50mc and 1 essay) Highly recommended!!!

He Loves what he is teaching which makes it a very fun environment!!! He keeps your attention and is very fair. I would highly recommend him as your next history teacher. He will keep you laughing and sometimes chases rabbits (gets off subject) but it is all helpful in the end. Read the Chapters in the book and you will be ok!!

If you do the study guides and study the study guides, the class is an easy A. He is a wonderful professor, and makes history interesting. I would highly recommend taking his class.

one of the best teachers i've ever had!! his class is so interesting i'm actually kind of sad it's almost over. i've never had a teacher who made lectures as interesting as he does. and he's funny. class was pretty easy, grades were 4 tests and one book report. wish i could take him again.

Great professor! I am taking his online (8-week) class, it definitely consists of tons of reading the chapters and writing, but that's how most online classes are. Easy class, just read & do the reviews & you will get an A.

I took 8 wk online class ... TONS of reading/writing, he's SLOW to respond, NOT clear in directions, and gives only 5 days to do a week of work and only 2 days to study for tests... and the test study guides are essentially worthless. Assignments don't cover most of what is on test. 2 thumbs down from an otherwise great student!

Digerlando is a challenge, but his criticism is positive. Go to class, do the reviews, listen to the lectures, follow the powerpoints, turn in your work on time, and take plenty of notes...you'll make an A. If you want an easy A, take Derks. If you want to fall in love with History, take Digerlando.

Hes a funny guy that likes to tell you a bunch of intresting facts. He has long lectures but he makes it very easy to understand. Test are very simple all you have to do is study his review and you will have an easy A

One of the best teachers i have ever had. Answers emails, phone calls, and most importantly makes fun of the idiot in class that we all want to. (subtly) Lessons are extremely interesting even when the material is dry. I never cracked the book once, just took good notes, and paid attention. I would recommend him if you arent dumb and want and A.

Mr. D is a great teacher. One of the best in my opinion. He is quite funny too. It is very interesting to hear his take on politics since he was once a staffer back in the day. Anyone who doesn't pass this class, didn't really try. Mr. D kept the class very interesting. Best of all is he didn't put up the front row crazy kid's dumb comments.

Ugh!! The utmost frustrating teacher I've ever had. He has high expectations of students but is a slacker himself as a teacher.

super awesome!! i took his summer hist 1302 class and thought that class would be too much but in fact the very opposite. very easy and easy-going :D his tests are easy as well as his essays. just sad he wont teach hist 1301 next semester.

Great teacher! Very funny, he's a dry humor type guy, you have to listen to him to catch his jokes. Very interesting, you can tell he loves History and he's a HIST encyclopedia!!! Very smart, taking summer, 2 book reports, 4 exams which he gives hints in lecture & study guides. Easy class if you try, time flies in his class. Highly Recommend Mr.D!!

His class is engaging due to the depth of his understanding of history. It seems like he really wants to make history interesting for the students. He listens to questions whether their answers are obvious or not and takes the time to answer them. The expectations are consistent. An easy A if you do the work while still being an interesting class.

He is a nice guy. Makes history interesting. He gives a study guide which is helpful, but still takes hours to look up terms. He is very fair about grades.

I love him, he is nice and very helpful. I wish he taught more classes!! Also, his intrest in what he teaches makes this late night class much easier to come to! Lastly, I like how he is open to everyones opinions! even if someone says the dumbest thing, he never makes them feel bad or tells them they are wrong even if he disagrees.

He's my second favorite professor at LSC!!! He's amazing and makes the class so interesting! You wont regret him at all! Just read and dont be lazy, attend his class!

good professor easy class

Best teacher I have ever had. Doesn't harper about attendance but wants you to be there. Laid back, has great stories, and doesn't give homework. 2 major papers and 4-5 exams. Does ask for 1 psge essays for tests but its easy if you know the material. Everything on powerpoint and lets you use your laptops. Wish he offered other classes.

Fun lectures. Lots of interesting stories and trivia. Test Reviews are misleading!! He makes tests sound easy. Overstudy the test reviews! And take the 2 Essays seriously.

He is so sweet and fun and caring. It's so hard to come to class though because class time is just story telling time, he posts his powerpoints online and doesn't take attendance. I really do love his class. He is one of the most interesting professors I've had. Really enjoys what he does and cares about his students. Textbook isn't really needed.

Fun class. Learned a lot. He has many stories and trivia that relate to the topics at hand. Study guides for all tests. Take essay seriously on tests. Book reviews were interesting and not too difficult. Should get an A if you put in any effort at all.

He is a decent guy and mildly interesting. However, I learned nothing of historical significance in this class. The tests are very misleading. You HAVE to read the book or you will not pass the class. He says the tests are 60% class lecture and 40% book. NO! 99% book and maybe 1% class lecture.

Prof D. is Great. I saw the last two responses and felt I needed to comment. They probably thought it was going to be an easy A and crapped out. Class is challenging. No way is everything from the book--essays were all notes. Always helped when I asked. Answers e-mails asap. Study guide was helpful but takes a long time.

Love this guy! Makes class sooo interesting. Very knowledgeable in history and tells very intriguing stories and knows how just about everyone dies lol highly recommended

Passionate instructor. If you go to class, and participate you'll do well. We had 2 papers to write on assigned books, and he spells out exactly what he's looking for on the reports and on exam essays. If you want to get away without doing any work, do him a favor and take another instructor. If you are at least open to learning History, take him.

I liked the class and he kept it interesting. I studied the book for the tests in addition to the review & attended diligently but I guess I went wrong somewhere.

Great professor! He is funny and his class is entertaining! He has a wealth of information on American history. He gives very clear tests for study guides- but don't underestimate the importance of the essay portion! I got an A but he wants you to show initiative. Attendance is important! Some info for tests can only get from lectures!

He is by far the best HIST prof. out there!!!! I would take him, I know a lot of people who are re-taking him for 1301 bc their previous prof sucked! I had n evening class, he keeps you the whole class but he doesn't make it boring, you will sit and and won't even notice. Study guide test. No book needed. Power points have the answers to the tests

Great instructor!! Gonna take him again for 1302. Lectures are fun and interesting, especially for American history. Exams are the usual, but he gives great reviews before the exam. Have to do two book reviews, but that's school policy. Funny, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Mr. D is very clear in his powerpoints and his tests come right out of the book. The study guide is an exact replica of the test, to the T. And his essay questions on the test are given out before the test date so you have every opportunity to study up before the test. He has awesome stories as well.

He came prepared to class. Pay attention to his lecture, i advice to record the class, some answers for the tests are on his words instead of power points. You can be absent but you lose.

This is my 2nd class with Mr.D and I recommend him to all of my friends. The tests are exactly what's on the study guide. There's also 3 written reports, but not hard. I really enjoy coming to class because his stories are always funny and really interesting! All around- he's a great professor and genuine guy.

I took Mr. D for History 1301 & 1302. He is a exceptional example of what a professor should be! Professor D. loves his job and loves to teach and it shows in every class. His lectures, power points and stories are fun and entertaining. I wish there were more professors like him!

I Took him for HIST1301 and made sure to take him again for HIST1302. He expects his students to do their work and learn but he also understands that we are not history majors. SUCH AN INTERESTING PROFESSOR. Has a story for everything. I enjoyed going to his class every week. He is practical and very understanding. Overall just a super chill dude

Professor D is by far the best History teacher I have ever had. The only person that made me "LOVE" yes I said LOVE history! History was one of my list favorite subjects. Just listen to the lectures and you will learn. It is not hard. He knows so much History and that make him very knowledgeable. I will take him again for 1302 if available.

You have to show up to pass! He gives lectures off of his PPs , BUT they are very interesting and definitely not boring! He gives reviews before each test which helps out tremendously! I did not like history before, but he made it fun to learn! Expect to work for your grade. He gives about 4 Exams I believe and 2 book reviews (not hard at all).

Prof. D is AWESOME! His stories keep you drawn into his classes and help you remember the details in History. I never really liked history until i took his class! I took 1301 and 1302 with his and loved it! He is a fair grader and requires tangiable assignments as long as YOU do not procrastinate. Awesome guy and very fair!! TAKE HIM!!!!

Mr. D is a great teacher and knowledgeable about History. He likes to tell stories about his slides instead of reading directly from the textbook. He will work with you to get your grades where you want them if you show interest and participate.

I hated history and never thought i could like it, but this teacher made me love learning about it. He's funny and tells stories about certain topics of his experiences, makes everything even more interesting. The only hard thing about the class is the book reviews they aren't very fun to read honestly but tests are easy.

Legitimately one of the best teachers I've ever had. Responds pretty quickly to emails, clearly loves what he teaches (knows a lot of trivia!), has extremely clear expectations, and makes all his powerpoints accessible to students. Has you read a couple of books (but they're interesting!) and write a couple of papers, but gives clear instructions.

Prof. Digerlando is probably one of the best teachers I've had for History in a while. His class is straight to the point and he gives interesting lectures that aren't just him reading the PowerPoints... there are 4 tests (including the final) that are based on the reviews and a couple of papers but they're not hard at all. He's Awesome!

Made U.S. history interesting!

He's class is pretty great especially if you're working full time. The amount of assignments he gives are manageable for those who are in need of more flexibility! He gives random and interesting facts through out his lectures, overall an great experience.

Easy A, as long as you study the guide for tests. No quizzes. 2 book reports (the books are lengthy). He said things in class that I had never heard before, and I didn't trust/respect what he was teaching. i.e. prohibition did stop the intake of alcohol for 2 years. His lectures are interesting, but take what he says with a grain of salt.

Best History Professor! He has PP which he sends to you via D2L the day of class, and he doesn't read off of them like professors usually do. He gives you interesting stories to help you retain the information. 4 test, reviews given, 3 writing assignments. Show up to class, even though it is not mandatory it helps your final grade overall.

Great professor. Took him for both levels of US History. Interesting lectures that are more than just reading off the powerpoint. Former congressional aid so he has a lot of stories and focuses on government and political history. 3 papers - two book reviews and one that comes straight from the textbook. Relatively easy A, just do the study guides.

He was great, funny and very anecdotal. Knew a lot about the presidents, of which he had personal stories about some from being a White House aide.

Amazing teacher

Put in the time and you will get the grade that you want! He does give study guides for each test that really help as long as youre willing to read the textbook as well and look at his lecture notes that he provides to you. Reading the textbook really does help especially after listening to his lectures.

Absolutely loved him. Funny, sarcastic, knowledgeable. I've never been a fan of history but he tells it in story form rather than reading off power points, making it more enjoyable and easier to remember the information. 4 tests, each with short essay question (3 options, pick 1). Reviews given about a week before test. Would definitely take again

if youre looking for an easy class this is it! 4 tests 2 book reports. Doesnt take attendance, so its ok to miss a class or two. I took his Thurs evening class, 2.5 hours of powerpoint slides and him talking, but we usually got out early. I only read the textbook for the tests. If you use the study guide, and write your papers - easy A!

I took his class in the fall. 4 test that includes final, 2 book review and one essay. I will give you a study guide. question on the test is easy if you read slides and go over study guide. If you work hard .. its an easy A.

I took him for a dual-credit course and I loved him! He has all these mini-stories which actually make the tests easier. It is easy to see he loves what he does and he shares that love with the class. All of his stories and work gave me the ability to do well and I am so lucky to have had him as a professor.

Professor DiGerlando is the sweetest person ever and so understanding. He is very accommodating and does not grade tough at all. There are weekly activities that are based on the textbook and normal tests. No quizzes or anything of the sort. Textbook does not need to be bought, it could be found for free. Just search up answers on google honestly.

I had Dr. Digerlando as a DC teacher a few years back and he was one of my favorites! Very passionate and gives thorough yet interesting contextual stories. Grades consisted of book reviews and tests which were quite easy-- all multiple-choice straightforward questions from what I recall. Also very nice/helpful towards anyone who needed assistance!

Always accommodating to students needs. Very interactive lectures. Grades are mostly based on tests. Obviously very passionate about what he does, which makes us want to learn as well. Encouraging to students when they're struggling. overall, cool.

Profesor Digerlando grades based on two book reviews and three tests, he leaves no homework assignments which makes his class easy to go through. As long as you go to every lecture and take notes you'll pass the tests.

Easy class and laidback prof. Only 2 essays and 4 tests (Final is on last CH not cumulative.) Makes his lecture notes easy to understand and tells you some questions that will be on tests. Lets class leave early most days, gives extensions and curves tests. His voice is a little monotone and not clear on his rubrics for essays but would recommend

This class will be easy for anyone who has the slightest ability to do what is asked of them. Only a couple of short papers to write. The exams are pretty easy for the most part, with just a few tricky questions and a short essay. He's a very easygoing guy and if you have a brain you'll get a good grade.

Mr. Digerlando's a great professor! He gives a study guide that you can use on every test which is usually just the questions from the test. Gives 2 book essays you must right, 4 tests including the final, and 1 primary/secondary essay. If you don't do the essays, you'll lack in a good grade. Not much work at all and he keeps lectures entertaining.

He is pretty funny and chill tbh BUT everything you do in this class is just lectures and notes basically. Can get really boring, he is funny at times and tells his own stories. The book reviews I think are a bit much and we barely have any assignments so if you lack on one assignment alone, your grade is cooked. Lock in either way but beware GL
