Mr. Farrell is a great speech teacher. I was nervous aout public speaking like most people but he made it a lot more comfortable. It is important to be in his class because he gives notes that WILL be on final and midterm. He is available out of class for help with speeches and overall a great guy.

Mr. Farrell especially understands the life demands of adult students. His class was fun and easy. Even if you don't like speaking in public, if you follow his guidelines and advice, you will get an "A" even if you give a speech about belly button lint! Pay attention to the videos he shows and his lecture notes, as the two exams are based on these.

In a 4.5 hour evening class once a week, I doubt that I could have put up with any other professor, besides Farrell. He is supportive and incredibly funny (and totally HOT.) I learned a lot about public speaking and life in general. Farrell loves what he does, and his passion is reflected in his lectures and natural knack for storytelling.

Amazing teacher, and lets you do your speeches on almost anything you want as long as they are tasteful. Did several of mine on BDSM, and even taught the class how to make a flogger for my visual aid speech. Take notes and make sure to look at the audience a lot and you'll do just fine.

I love this professor. He is straight to the point. He tells and shows you exactly what and how he wants his a speech done. You can even go to him before time to turn one in and he will tell you whether he likes it or not. He is hilarious too. He won't make the class hard for you. What he says will be on the mid-term or final, will be on there.

Mr. Ferrell is awesome! He's an irish catholic comedian kind of guy. He talks about his family alot (which ?'s about them will be on final exam). He's gives extra points at the end of the semester for attendance, and his tests always have some "little" something he's mentioned in lecture. He's a riot and highly recommended.

You could not ask for a better teacher than Professor Farrell. Class is alway fun, he is a hoot! What I loved about taking Professor Farrell's class is that he is clear in what he expects from you as a student. Prof. Farrell is AWESOME! He does go overboard with his love of ANYTHING Irish, but the fun stories about "Uncle Carl" will leave you rolling! Next thing you know, you love speech! Tests were ALL from notes-didn't need to crack the book. He'll even tell you while he's writing, "You MAY see this on the test"! Always there to help! THE BEST!

I just had his class this spring and i loved it. I was scared to death of public speaking an he made it a lot easier. I really enjoyes going to his class. I went from 5-7:45pm which is long but i had fun. I never got bored. He will have you laughing the whole time. If you have to take speech then take it with him...he is great

He is a great teacher! He's friendly, entertaining, and he wants you to do well. He gives you great examples and structures to model your speeches after, making the class a piece of cake. Show up to class for your speeches and write down everything he writes on the board (the tests are almost verbatim of his notes). THE BEST TEACHER I'VE HAD!

Mr. Farrell is a great teacher and a fun guy. Class is always entertaining. Speeches aren't my thing and I am making an A. I agree, eye-contact with the class is important. Pay attention to his lectures because the test questions all come from that, the book is not used very much. If you have to take speech, definitely take it from Mr. Farrell.

We all dread getting up in front of class to do a speech, we are all nervous but we have to do it sometime. This teacher IS the one to take. He tells you exactly what he expect nicely. (I took the night class...much better)

public speaking-hilarious!! its so worth it to get to class 10 minutes early just to talk to him. he is hilarious, even in his lectures and makes everything crystal clear! he writes all notes on the board and gives study guides. lectures every day in class - attendance is very important so you dont miss notes. never even opened the text book.

Mr. Farrell was definetely very understanding, he'll work with you the best he can. He keeps the class light, humor with education. I thought it would be a class I took just because it was required, but it turned out to be a very enjoyable class. He definetely made the class worth taking!!

Ay interesting and worldly Irishman. He's very much of the old school. He's funny but everything he says has some meaning or value. He's a bit gruff with students who are immature or babyish. He won't hold your hand or change your diapers. His lectures are more important than the book.

Very friendly and personable. His lectures are riddled with fun anecdotes and good examples from movies or life. There's a lot of student participation and the environment quickly becomes a friendly one where everyone knows everyone else. He'll talk to you and never lose his smile. The class itself is easy - he thoroughly covers test material.

If your having trouble picking a speech teacher farrell is your guy group projects you will speak in front of the class EACH DAY so be prepared essays are fair and tests are butter if you fail then you earned it , cause there is just no way in hell you could fail the farrell.

I took his interpersonal communication class and it has turned out to be one of my favorite classes. He makes lectures engaging but does do group project. If you show up and listen the book is not really necessary. I would definitely take him again

I enjoyed this class, the main thing is to be prepared for your speeches. Listen to his requirements and take notes because his midterm and final are from the lectures and he will write down anything that he wants you to remember. He has a quick wit/sarcasm that keeps you drawn in and topics of discussion that keep your interest. I had to sign up for his 209 class. When you find a gem/great teacher you keep them.

He was a great teacher and always keeps the class laughing. Its a easy class but you still need to do all of the work and he will help you with anything you need. I hate being in front of crowd and speaking in front of them but each time i spoke my grades kept progressing so i felt like he taught me alot.

The first speech I gave in this class was the most horrifying moment of my life. The last speech I gave was an insane improvement. The best professor i had at Greenville tech. Super encouraging and always uplifting

Dr. Farrell sets the tone in his classroom - a highly positive, team-oriented environment where students can build their confidence in front of a receptive audience. No wonder students consistently speak of this class as a practical, engaging, and valuable academic experience. An absolute must take!

Professor Ferrel is truly the best professor anyone can have. He give lectures in a way that is personal, intriguing and hilarious. Hes full of humor but that doesnt by any means make him easy. Pay attention to his stories and take notes. Your grade is left up to how well you can write your speech and most importantly how well you can deliver it.

Professor Farrell is hilarious, and a very easy grader. As long as you listen to his lectures and present your speeches the way he asks you to, it is a very easy A. He's old and likes to joke around with students, and his lectures are very entertaining. He offers extra credit for early speeches. I recommend him, and I'd take a class from him again.

Pretty easy class with him. He's very funny, entertaining, and kind. He will give you pretty good feedback, eye contact is really important! I had fun in his class and would take another class with him again if I could. Easiest public speaking grader at the school.

Professor Farrell is probably one of the funniest professors Ive ever had. The class isnt particularly hard, just make sure you dont let your work sneak up on you. He gives good feedback (if you can read his handwriting), and has hilarious stories since hes been teaching so long. I would totally take his class again!!

Hands down the best and most caring professor at Tech. Take good lecture notes, the exams are purely made from the lecture. Class is mandatory for participation credit. He says you will use the book but you wont.

Prof. Steve Farrell is the best instructor so far. Be regular in his class, read every thing he teaches in class and you will are good to go. He is indeed very good. I can recommend him over and over again.

i loved his class. He is tough, but easy at the same time. He gives good samples of speeches. He tells you everything you need to know for exams. I would def take it again from him.

If you come to class every day, This class is easy. If you do your required class work than you will pass this class. I loved having Mr. Farrell as my professor. He is a very good teacher.

Mr. Farrell is awesome! I was really nervous to take a public speaking class but he made everyone really comfortable and I wasn't nervous at all. He wasn't really harsh in his grading so he's basically and easy A. Take his class!!

Professor Farrell is such a sweet and caring professor, He gives good lectures and really easy to understand. He makes class go by so fast without getting bored at all. I recommend him 100%.

Practices your speeches and make sure theyre the time limit. Not a super harsh grader as long as you present your topic well and maintain eye contact. Lectures are easy to understand and study guides are a really good example of the midterm and final.

An excellent professor! He made the class fun and enjoyable, but also teaches you exactly what you need to know. Practice your speeches and make sure develop your speech! You have to work for your grade!

I love professor Farrell so much!!! He makes me feel really comfortable when it comes to speeches. I won't say it is an easy class but if you go to the class everyday and submit everything on times, you will do great in his class. He is fair and quick grader. I highly recommend.

It was a pleasure to take Interpersonal Communication with Mr. Farrell. He has a great sense of humor and a good heart. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to fulfill oral communication. The exams are not difficult, and the speeches are fairly easy if you put effort into it!

Mr. Farrell was the BEST public speaking teacher I could have ever had. He really knows what he is doing and I was instantly comfortable doing my speeches (after the first one of course). He gives amazing feedback on the speeches presented by his students and lets him/her know what to improve on.

Taking one of Mr. Farrell's classes is truly an experience. I had him at 8AM but I woke up each morning looking forward to his class; his lectures were always entertaining so I was never tempted in the slightest to skip his class. He has a tendency to be politically incorrect, but never seeks to offend anyone. Great man and great professor.

Mr. Farrell was one of my best teachers. I was nervous about this class, but he really made it comfortable. He is a jokester, but that's the fun part. Come to class every day, take notes, and do your speeches and you will be fine. Highly recommend. Amazing Speech Teacher.

Mr. Farrell was one of my favorites teachers of all time. You should try to come to every single class, he grades you on participation, which is you just showing up. He is so funny and always jokes around but when it's time to learn he gets really serious. ALSO, NO TALKING WHILE HE'S TEACHING!

WOW! This professor is amazing at what he does for speech! A big fan of the band The Beatles and really makes speech a fun event when each student is to give a speech! He gives great feedback on graded assignments/speeches, there when you need him for advice after classes, and just an amazing guy! Snag this professor!

Took his class over the summer of 2020 before covid. He was amazing and caring professor. He was understanding and encouraging during speeches and gave wonderful feedback. I would take him again!

I enjoyed his SPC class. He's very nice and gives you feedbacks on your speeches. He is not heavy on the grading part as he know everyone gets nervous speaking in front of people. Definitely one of the best professors at GTC.

He is one of the best teachers I've had in my college experience. I learned a lot about public speaking from him and I found it hard to day dream during his lectures because his lectures are very attention grabbing.

Excellent Professor! He is very caring about each student's barriers individually and gives good feedback on what to improve on to be a better public speaker when giving speeches. He gives a lot of freedom on choosing the speech topics and is very clear in his instructions and requirements for each speech.

Mr. Farrell is a great professor. He wants to get to know you personally. He speaks with you before class and asks about your life and what's going on. He likes discussion and interaction lectures, which makes the time go by quickly while still learning something. I wish he would teach every class!
