Very good teacher. Really knows what hes talking about. If you do all the essays and show interest in class you will get a good grade.

He is a great professor, the final and midterm are kind of hard, uses the book a lot, but we watched a lot of movies in this class as well, and he is a very helpful professor, but grades the papers pretty hard, but than again you can make corrections. Would recommend this class to anyone

You can learn a lot about life from this teacher. Very intelligent and likes things his way. Kind of reminds me of the joker from batman in a weird way. Talk in class, pay attention and you will get the grade you want.

AMAZING teacher! i took an 8 week course. did many 1-2 page papers that were so simple. the tests are easy if you pay attention. he brings in movie clips to help you better understand things like poems. we watched shakespear movies instead of reading it, but he broke the movie down so even the biggest idiot in the world could understand.

Can be old fashioned, uses some dated language. But it's easy to get an A in this class if you pay attention and do you work. As many revisions as you want, flexible about grades, relaxed in class... if you do your reading.

In every English 102 class you have to read Shakespeare and you watch the movies in his which make it more appealing. put in effort and you will get a good grade.:)

Fischer was awesome. always told stories and kept class interesting. Explains all shakespear and lets you know what your grade is at all times. I had not taken english in 8 years and got an F on my first paper but he lets you rewrite all papers after showing you what was wrong. I got A's on all the rest. Very helpful in class and is easygoing

I love this GUY! He is a film buff so the final research paper is supposed to be on a film.There are some 2pg essays before but they are easy.Lots of reading from the book but its nice.He refers to The Godfather a lot.Likes to talk a lot and tells stories and his opinions on things.If you miss this class once or twice or even thrice, you wont fail.

He is an amazing teacher, willing to help and work with you. Gives you chances to redo papers for a better grade!! I Definitely recommend him :)

The only teacher who was successful in coaxing me to understand and then like Shakespeare, poetry, and Les Miserables. He covered a huge amount of material but did it effectively. He never drones on during a lecture and constantly engages his students. Not the easiest grader but gives a chance to make up for mistakes. Excellent educator.

Makes class interesting by showing movies and media clips to connect to the stories we read and giving his own personal stories. We read short stories from a textbook instead of 200-400 pg books like other teachers do. He also tells you exactly what is on the mid-term and final. He doesnt try to mess with you like other teachers do. would recommend

Really a great teacher. You have to write 5, 1 page papers on short readings. There's 2 tests and one 7-10 research paper. It sounds like a lot but it's not. He is really funny. Kind of a tough grader, but lets you re-do things to get more points. If you try some what you'll get a A.

Professor Fischer is by far one of the best professors I have had at Harper. His teaching skills are phenomenal and you'll learn more than you would in any other english class. Essay's are 1-2 pages, once a week and are very easy. He's an easy grader and gives you many opportunities to re-do papers for full credit. Highly recommended.

I just took his class this past semester and let me tell you, hands down the best English teacher at harper. If you're expecting an easy A look somewhere else. But make no mistake, as long as you give an honest try, you'll pass. Attendance isn't mandatory but it helps A LOT. Stay on top of the readings and you'll do great. Btw, he loves poetry.

Fischer has easily been one of the best teachers I've ever had. He makes reading poetry and shakespeare NOT BORING. He's a funny guy and likes to joke around a lot but he is extremely intelligent and knows his stuff. You will not regret taking him!

He gives complete instructions on how assignments should be done and provides clear examples. I took the accelerated 8wk class so there was an essay due every other class but he lets you revise the previously graded essay for a better grade. Essay topics were general and easy. He's a fair grader and lets you turn in late work with no penalty.

He's friendly and sarcastic and great to learn from. Very willing to help those who help themselves. His 101 class is made up of 4 two-page papers and 1 7-10 page paper at the end of the semester. There are selections of readings from the book for homework and a small quiz over them every class, but they're easy. A very straightforward class.

Honestly, he's one of those teacher that knows lot. He was pursuing a medical degree before he found his passion in teaching and decided his passion was more important than having enough money. He is most the most entertaining professor in co. He gives you a research outline and shows you how to write it which will help you in any research paper.

Mr. Fischer is a very nice teacher and he will help you as much as he can. Class is always fun and interesting. You do have to read and work on the assignments, but if you do that then you will get a good grade.

Fischer was Amazing!! At first you have to read quizzes from a book you have to get and the poem might be long but they're easy to catch on your head then he'll quiz you and its just easy. Can rewrite essays. He's really helpful. if you put decent effort on this class you can get an easy A or B.

This professor is really passionate about what he teaches. But beware, he does like to assign a lot of papers although he gives you the opportunity to correct any mistakes. I took English 102 class. If you do all the assigned reading, work hard on 5 papers, and put effort on the research paper. You will most likely to get an A. He is very approachable. I enjoyed the class a lot. You should definitely consider taking his class.

I took ENG101 as a first 8week class & was really nervous about the workload going into it. You are required to work hard & put a lot of time into your work in order to succeed, but it isn't anything unbearable. Mr Fischer keeps lectures entertaining with his stories & you will never be bored!! He gives great feedback on papers, too. I'll miss him!

I really like this professor. He kept me engaged, even though English is one of my least favorite subjects. The topics we had to write papers on were interesting, yet still challenging. His lectures were fun and interesting. We even watched a couple of movies, so what's better than that?

Mr. Fischer is someone who gets how students work, even if he's not in the same generation. His schedule is made with the students in mind and is easy to talk to. There is a lot of in-class work and essays to do but he spaces everything out so you only have to come in for the quizzes. He is really funny and I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Mr. Fischer is an incredible professor! He cares about his student's success. He is very honest and teaches the class valuable life lessons while also connecting it back to the class content. He is incredibly funny and it makes you want to come to class! There are reading quizzes, but they're super easy as long as you read the textbook.

Frankly only me and a few others showed up every time as he deemed the zoom optional at the start of the class. He cares about this class and is willing to give extra time if you really need it. There are lots of papers to write, four short essays and a final paper, but you are given ample time and clear instructions on how to receive the best grade possible. If youre looking for a class that is just the right balance of manageable and challenging, Fischer is the guy for you!

Dr.Fischer is such a great professor. I enjoyed showing up to his class. I loved it when he would share his personal stories. Even though there was a lot of homework, he genuinely wants his students to succeed. He gives good feedback on the essays.
