This prof. will try to get everyone in the class to think for themselves. If anyone gets offended politically it is because he wants to spark debate in class over certain issues related to the course. Instead of teaching you WHAT to think, he teaches you HOW to think. Smart guy, highly reccomended.

I really enjoyed him as a professor, but I must say he does not accept tardiness at all. I had to withdraw from his class the first time I took his class because I was literally 5 minutes late 3 times and that was his policy. Other than that, he's an enthusiastic teacher full of "umph"!

Forleo is an awesome teacher who motivates you to learn. However, attendance is a must because if you miss 3 classes, he will drop your grade by a whole letter. In addition to attendance, completing the assignments will earn you an A in the course!

I have taken three classes with Prof. Forleo and I haven't regretted it. He is, by far, the best college professor I have had. He is always entertaining and gives you outside texts to study further (if you are interested in English). He is nice and understanding. Be prepared, though, the grade is based entirely upon the midterm and final.

Very inspirational, I enjoyed going to his class. He is very fair and helpful. Attendance is mandatory but it's only fair. During class activities students get to interact with each other and become friendly. It is a fun class that is not too difficult and he offers extra credit assignments. I got a lot out of his class and recommend taking it

He is an excellent teacher. He makes you feel comfortable in his class. His assignment were as fun to do. For someone like me to receive an A- in his class and who hates writing just shows you that I liked his class that much. One thing he could not stand was when people would show up late to class. He is very stricted on lateness. Recommended

He's probably one of the best professors I've had at ccri, but sometimes he gets to passionate about the topics and goes into so much detail some people wouldn't understand. Always willing to hand out extra credit. DO IT! each one is 5 points towards your final grade.

Great professor on variety of levels

He has a tendency to say "everyone knows" or "you all remember" or "everyone would agree" and followed up with an obscure literary reference which can be quite annoying. If you can get past that, show up, and do the readings, his class is an easy A. Tests are straightforward and he offers unlimited extra credit. Learned a lot from his lectures too

THE BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR EVER! He is very willing to talk, he will explain if you have trouble understanding his criteria. Easy class if you just show up and do the work!

I took Modern Lit and he was an incredible professor. He chooses books that are really interesting and isn't afraid to talk about controversial topics. He chose 7 books/plays for the semester which may seem like a lot but he always goes over the material and gives an in depth analysis just in case there are things you missed. Exams are easy as well

Oh man! I graduated from CCRI and went back just to take another class with him. Forleo is a great guy who really cares about the students and wants you to succeed as an English major. He can seem tough, but only if there is a motive. Such as texting in class or not participating.

Prof. Forleo gives out a plethora of extra credit papers! You dont have to do them because his class is overall very easy, but its a good backup. His ideologies align with mine, so I thought his lectures were quite inspiring. A very intellectual prof.

I took Professor Forleo's oral communications (speach/public speaking class) back in 2005. He was one of the professor's who resonated with me my entire academic career. I feel prepared for every single moment of public speaking to this day. Today have a masters and bachelors degree from URI. 100% take this man's class.

I took his film class. It was pretty easy: watch two or three films, write a 3+ page paper about one of them using a topic from the book. Unfortunately you don't know the movie ahead of time to get a jump on things. With coronavirus hitting mid-semester, he was very understanding and flexible with the assignments/due dates. Great professor!

This class was pretty straightforward from the syllabus and simple. It was asynchronous and I really never needed to meet with Forleo but could if I wanted to. I enjoyed most of the assignments and it is a good beginner English class for freshmen. Assignments were every other week and the larger they were the more time we received. Recommended.
