This is essentially a self-taught class. Loads of work each night, very little teaching/lecturing, and what he does say is rambling that builds little to your understanding. Watch out for mistakes and uncertainties! If you have a choice between instructors, pick someone else!

I took this teacher last fall. The class is very structured, if you do your learning objectives each night and take notes you can use your notes on the quiz the next day. There are a lot of easy points to be earned in this class, so if you do them you can get C’s on the tests and still get a B in the class, or B’s on your test and an A in the class
Steve was a great instructor. If you had a question for him, he didn't answer it directly but coached you in the right direction. Tons of work and studying though! Steve is a very approachable and fair instructor. His power point presentations are redundant though!Just a repeat of learning objectives.
i loved this class and i thought that the instructor was awesome. i didnt want the quarter to be over.
Hes very challenging. I dont believe he was the best at explaining different concepts. Self- taught class.
Although he lectures and does review before tests, the class is basically self-taught. There is a lot of busy work, and the tests are hard. He's not good at answering questions either. I'm an A student and I studied really hard and came out with a B.
The exam is not that hard but he is poor at explaining the material. He just gave us powerpoints but he doesn't lectures much.
Microbiology is not an easy class, and the same goes for Dr. G's class, but he is so helpful. He offers a lot of non exam points which really helps with your final grade. I highly recommend him. He's great. Don't drop this class, give him a chance and you won't regret it.
Made a hard class even harder. Tons of busy work. Basically a self taught class. Needs to realize that everyone doesn't want to be a biologist, some are taking this class b/c its required. Is Microsoft getting a check from him, b/c power point is teaching his class
THIS TEACHER CARES NOTHING FOR HIS STUDENTS AT ALL. WE ASKED HIM IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR DO YOU REVIEW FOR TESTS AND FOR THE FIRST TEST HE DID AND THE CLASS AVG WAS 82. HE STOPPED REVIEWING FOR THE TEST, NEVER WENT BYTHE BOOK AND THE CLASS AVE WAS AROUND A 45-50. THIS IS A PREREQ FOR ALL NURSING STUDENTS, AND HE USES CLASS TO SCREW KIDS UP.
Dr. Goshorn's class is very interesting, and requires work. If you read the material prior to lectures, do the study guides, take advantage of study sessions and ask him questions, you'll do just great. Don't miss classes, you may miss extra points which he offers. I think he is a fine professor.
He is a really nice guy, but i would no recommend him. His test are not fair, except for the short answer questions. The multiple choice questions are ridiculous, because you can't really prepare for them.
little old lady who gossips, has favorites. Loves 2 confuse students. Wet dream 2 work at Princeton. do not understand that students have a life of survival outside his class. If this class is your world then he will fawn all over you.Does ot belong at comm college,
gets a kick out of confusing students. His multiple choice tests are from his strange best answer. Contradicts the text book, has favorites.Run as fast as you can. This guy is a creeper!little guy in a little green cooper.
I agree the the last three posts. This guy is a joke, he doesn't understand that people have a life outside his class. He also HATES when you ask questions, but loves to creep the young ladies...RUN asfast as you can..to much busy work!
Very Nice guy, not a good teacher. Relies too much on the powerpoints that is not teaching, you have to teach yourself from the book. Class cost too much money to be self taught.
Very anal teacher, he is the point man! +2 points for this -4 points for that. Loves to confuse students, has his own "best" answers on the tests. Full of himself, power points don't even make sense. One of the most BORING classes ever taken. Please fast forward and get this over with. Take someone else!
His class was extremely time consuming and difficult. I had no time to study for my other classes because of it. He lacks clarity and the ability to have the students understand it. Basically he just reads from the power point which is something I can do when im home, read the textbook. He's an ok guy but really needs a new teaching technique.
I had him for Bio 101 and other than his lectures being really boring, he was a really cool guy and gives you plenty of oppertunities to pass. Study for the exams though
Good professor. really conveys enthusiasm for subject matter. Alot of work, but he is very generous with points and curve. show, pay attention, read & you'll do well. If you can't do that, you probably don't belong in the class.
I think Professor Goshorn was good! He let you know exactly what was expected of you, held study sessions, graded on a curve, gave you example tests (the example essays were almost always the exact ones on the test). It is a hard subject but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed. But it's YOUR responsibility to devote the necessary time
"he likes to creep out ladies"?I am a female % I never got a weird vibe-he was professional."likes to trick u on tests"no-it's a 4 credit class which means u might actually have to think!"full of himself"no-he's very knowledgeable but not pompous.Don't slander bc you're mad at not doing well. It's a hard class put in the necessary time people!
Amazing professor! I took him for bio 101 and 228 and got straight As each time even went the material covered was complex. Very, very fair grader; if you study you'll definitely get an A. Dr. G is a little unorganized, but extremely intelligent and in no way "creepy". He makes the course interesting and fun! I highly recommend taking him!
Dr. G's test are very hard, but he curved every exam at least 10 points. I averaged low B's but with the curve got an A on almost every test & a 96% overall. He even adjusted grades at the end of the semester to ensure everyone passed. It was a summer course so maybe he curved extra because the pace was so fast (an exam/week). I'd recommend him!
Boring. Class is based on powerpoint. Lots of busy work. Doesn't like when students ask questions. Pre-determines if he likes you, and bases grade on it. So if you keep your mouth shut and don't ask alot of questions. You will be fine. Makes class very long and BORING>
I just took Dr. G this past spring for a hybrid Microbiology class. He is an awesome teacher! Extremely intelligent on the subject matter. Of course you must dedicate time to study, but that should expected for micro! As long as you show you get lab credit, and the tests are curved. Basically, if you fail Dr. G's class it's because of laziness
Honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. The material is difficult but he has no problem with anyone asking questions and truly wants everyone to do well and be interested in the material. Don't take the class for an easy A. Take it for a challenge with a great human being teaching.
Anyone who is going into healthcare should take Dr. G. He is enthusiastic, helpful, and great at explaining concepts. Micro is absolutely something you will use in your career. Dr. G wants everyone to succeed. He provides great study guides, all of his notes, and practice. He doesn't give busy work and you don't have to read the book. BEST teacher!
dr g is a great teacher! we used note cards on all of our tests! very understanding guy! ii still go to him for classes that ii need to take so he can give me a code! he can be a bit awkward with teaching and going off topic but hes a great guy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
he is not hard he does give you tips to help you pass the class attend his class reguarly and you would pass the class and do all his work the way he recommends afterall he is not hard like everbody says
This teacher is very fair. There are a lot of opportunities to earn points for your grade. If you do all of the homework and quizzes, you shouldn't have any trouble passing. He makes notes for you to study from, all you have to do is fill in some definitions. The notes are the best way to study. I didn't use the book once. Nice and fair guy.
Dr G is an absolutely brilliant scientist who teaches an excellent class however this class is not for everyone. He will expect you to not just learn and repeat but truly apply the information he has taught you. If you pay attention in this class and make sure you attend every day you will find that you learn more than most others in his classes
Dr. Goshorn is a great teacher! He is helpful, interesting, and very smart. He curves the tests, gives extra credit n tons of ways to get a high grade. It's a hard subject so yes you have to study but you will get a lot of this class if you try, especially nurses! I was dreading this class but Dr. G and his class has become my favorite ones yet!
Dr. Goshorn is a brilliant biologist. He has a passion for his field of science and shares that passion through his labs and transformed my lack of interest in this subject to actually buying a microscope for my home to continue to explore on my own. He is extremely fair in grading and yes - you must study! Becoming a nurse takes serious study!
GREAT GUY! he lets you use a notecard for your test ; helps ou in and out of the classroom! great guy that Dr G is !! highly recommend taking him!
Dr.G is the best!I read a bunch of reviews: yes he does powerpoint; goes through them fairly quick; yes he is vague when giving direction. You can ask him for practice exam! if you don't understand the direction, ask for help again. He will explain until you understand what he needs you to do. Passionate about science, and I learn a lot. <3 to Dr.G
Napoleon complex. Lots of "busy work" Power point, useless information. Hates when students ask questions. Excellent "state employee".
VERY DIFFICULT. Powerpoint based class. Lab is more important than anything, that's about all you do. Doesn't review for tests. Doesn't specify what he wants you to study. No notecards. Lots of busy work, hard to focus on other classes. Mandatory attendance, he will not excuse you for ANYTHING. If you're looking to struggle, take this class.
Hes tests are so hard,he wants his jhomeworks handwrited, he doesn't explaines material very well, sometimes I though he was talking to his self and not teaching us. Do not take this professor you would have very hard time
No textbook, no test reviews, no note taking, does not like questioning, his test are very difficult with assay questions. It was very unpleasant experience to be in his class, if you like challenge yourself take this professor.
This is essentially a self-taught class. Loads of work each night, very little teaching/lecturing, and what he does say is rambling that builds little to your understanding. Watch out for mistakes and uncertainties! If you have a choice between instructors, pick someone else
His class was extremely time consuming and difficult. I had no time to study for my other classes because of it. He lacks clarity and the ability to have the students understand it. Basically he just reads from the power point which is something I can do when im home, read the textbook. He's an ok guy but really needs a new teaching technique
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I would NEVER recommend this professor to anyone. you grade is based on exams and quizzes ONLY. Does not offer any extra credit and is extremely inapproachable. Makes you feel very uncomfortable if you ever have to ask a question. Save yourself and take someone else
Very difficult class. Go shorn was a nice guy but did not have a good teaching technique. On the positive side if you show up and do labs and class work you can pass. Lab and class work are worth a lot of points . He does curve tests.
Very unapproachable, never answered any of my questions clearly. Had to teach myself all the information, his study guides were trash. I would not recommend him at all
This was a tough class a lot of work and no help from the teacher he told us we didn't need the book and in reality it's required unless you have prior knowledge in micro his exam are very hard and his reviews are point less I don't recommend this teacher at all unless you want to struggle and stress over a class
He's a nice guy & I don't think he's a bad teacher at all. His tests are hard but not the hardest I've ever taken & he gives extra credit for the review. You don't have to learn ridiculous things like all the steps of the Kreb's cycle like I heard other micro teachers teach. A lot of teachers say don't read the book but I always do.
He never gives you a break. The tests are worth note than the homework, labs and quizzes combined. He doesn't curve at all, and gives no extra credit or the simple task of answering your questions without a scowl. Never take his class. Expect to study for 20+ hours for each exam.
I honestly think he is a huge step of from my previous science teachers. Study guides are helpful and he will give you a list of the essay questions that will appear on the test which helps a lot. He will also go over the review with the class the class before the test. Labs and homework are worth a lot and pretty easy.
He's a great teacher- clear cut lectures and notes, gives exam reviews and tells you what essays are on the exams. He's funny and the labs aren't bad at all. If you study and do the homeworks and quizzes and prelabs you'll pass. The people who didn't like him probably don't understand science in general. It isn't his fault you failed...
In general he's a nice and boring teacher He don't care if you have problems He took points out when you do make up test He don't like to give credit on pre-lab homework when you miss class even you show him that on next class and try to explain or show him proof of the problem that make you absent he don't care. If u are smart it's ok
Must use the notes and powerpoints to get all the information. Lectures for about an hour, then do lab for an hour. Kind of confusing, rambles on sometimes. Funny sometimes. Homework is easy. Labs are easy. Tests are multiple choice and curved. Online quizzes are optional but most of the questions will appear on the exam also.
He is a funny man but you definitely have to study. His tests are difficult.
Is the class hard? Yes. Will you be studying? Yes. Will you have to work hard to earn your grade? Yes. Professor Goshorn is very good. Very intelligent and interested in the field, and pretty funny as well. All the negative reviewers must've been slackers who don't invest the time and took it out on this ace prof! Willing to help you out always.
Good professor! He is knowledgeable and willing to answer your questions. Study, pay attention, show up and you'll do well. everything you need for this class is posted onto canvas so you can access it at any time. Funny guy as well, great stories.
While knowledgeable about the field he lacks the fact that more then half of his students are only in need of this class for transferring. This class is utterly pointless and ridiculous. His tests are hard and he basically expects you to be a microbiologist right off the bat. No matter how long you study there's still a high possibility of failure.
He is great! Second time ive taken him for a course. Gives you every bit information possible, Powerpoints, videos, practice quizzes and exams. I f you can't get atleast a B in his class you are not trying, period. Great stories and great sense of humor. If you want an A you will get it by doing the work. Every opportunity is given to you by him.
Horrible teacher! He expects you to know everything about microbiology. Tests are difficult and he throws stuff in there that he does NOT cover in class.
The class in general is hard but the professor is good. He gives you everything you would need to pass his class and he is really fair with his grading. If you do all your labs and homework it is possible to get a good grade in his class. Would recommend him !
Micro is a difficult with lots of things to learn and understand. This is not a show up and pass kinda class. However, if you show up and do what is expected of you, you can pass with B even if you got all C's on the exams. Pay attention to lectures and powerpoints and you can pass with a B or an A
This professor is great! He curves the exams, his lectures are all online recorded with a powerpoint, and he answers my emails very fast. Only thing I will say are his exams are more conceptual based questions. Would for sure take him again! I can also tell he really cares and wants his students to do well.
Professor Goshorn is a great professor! Microbiology is hard so don't think it will be a breeze. Professor helps you learn the material for such a hard subject. He makes it easier! I would definitely take his class again! He's very funny and has stories relatable to the subjects you are learning that helps you remember the topic. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Dr. G was an awesome professor. Very intelligent and loves what he does. Microbiology is a hard course in itself, so saying he's a tough professor isn't fair. Labs are pretty intense, missing a class is not recommended. He has voice lectures available through Canvas, which help for studying. Fry sense of humor which I thought was hysterical.
I read all reviews on Goshorn &was scared to take him I decided to find out for myself &I'm glad I did, he is a genius. all the exams reflect the material. Micro requires a lot of application, presence alone won't get you an A. Lots of studying &rehearsal of material take quizzes&fill out outlines MULTIPLE times, listen voice threads manageyourtime
Dr.G was a good teacher. You need to study info ALOT! labs were easy but, test he tries to make you think, so some questions seem tricky. Study notes and lectures
Microbiology is definitely a subject you have to study and review no matter what professor you have. Goshorn has narrated lectures and lets you know which type of questions will and will not be on the exam. The exams are hard!! But the labs and homework are easy. He also has review packets and quizzes you can take before exams to get prepared.
I tried so hard in his class & still felt like I wasnt getting anywhere. He would assign pre-labs, but then wouldnt check them. If he would have, it would have helped my grade, but no. His tests are super hard & he does not give them back to you to study for final. The whole class struggled & he didnt offer any extra credit/work, so good luck.
Professor G is easy going. had hybrid all tests are in testing center. Printouts and all lectures are online by him. I studied material and felt comfortable but still barely passed tests thank god they are curved and labs are easy if you pay attention.. YOU NEED TO STUDY ALOT!!!!!!!! like fill out print outs and study . Tries to trick you niceguy
Great professor. He gives you all the material you need to pass, you just have to put in the work. He understands if everyone gets a multiple choice wrong it might just be a bad question. He's very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Would take him again without a doubt.
Awesome professor. Took him fall 2018 semester and would without a doubt take one of his classes again. His class isn't easy do not expect an easy A. Tests are multiple choice but require a good amount of studying, very in-depth questions. I learned so much from his class. He is also very funny in my opinion. FILL OUT YOUR OUTLINES HE PROVIDES!!!!!
I took Professor Goshorn for the Fall 2018 term for Micro, which is just hard in general. He made the material comprehensible and gave lots of explaination! LISTEN to his narrated lectures REPEATEDLY before every exam, re-write your notes, dont overthink and the class is totally doable! Put in the work, know the material and youll do fine!
Does not require textbook, listen to his voice lecture powerpoints, fill out his outlines & do practice questions. His exams can trick you, but overall he was a good professor. Microbiology is not easy, but he does care about his students.
If you struggle taking tests do not take professor Goshorn. His exams are worth 63% of your final grade. Even if you do well in the labs if your overall test average is not above a 60 you will not pass!!!! We would finish the material then take a test the next class. His exam questions would be more comprehensive than what the notes said.
I wish I had gotten a different teacher because he tests heavy. He is okay but most of the stuff is outside of powerpoints.
You will not pass if you miss more than a couple classes because of the way he does labs. His exams are very difficult and his outlines are like 20 pages long. They dont correlate to his powerpoints, just the narrated ones. He asks a lot of in depth and pick the one that doesnt fit kind of questions. Lots of homework, too.
I took him as a hybrid course. He cares so much about us understanding the material. He is very funny also. The tests are difficult if you do not understand the material. Put in the work to study and truly understand, you'll be fine. Also, nursing students he makes sure to give clinical significance to everything we learn, SOOO helpful.
Prof Goshorn is hilarious and a nice guy but this course is hard and he makes it clear that it is a hard class. Do not take this class with any other hard class because to get a good grade you will need to focus on this class only. The exams are difficult but manageable with enough studying. Do not skip class because there are labs often.
Prof. Goshorn is an awesome teacher that wants you to succeed. All the exams are based off of his powerpoints and each lecture is online for you to view as many times as possible. Listen to the lectures and read the powerpoints you will do good on the tests. His classes are lots of fun.
This class was a bit hard because you have to study a lot of material. He is a cool understanding professor but he does not take no excuses. Get the work done and you will pass. He doesn't give a lot of homework out and no book is required, you use the powerpoints that he makes.
I've never had to rate a professor on here until having completed Professor Goshorn's class. Never in my school career have I had a teacher or professor be completely belittling and condescending towards his students and myself. I've cried multiple times it's that bad. He also takes pride in how hard his class is, and the tests are very difficult.
I did not like Dr. G. He gave way too much work and his exams were extremely difficult. I'm not sure if other Micro classes are like this as well, but he took pride in how difficult his class was. His average exam score is 70 and you need a 70 average on his exams just to get a C. I would not recommend.
Stay away- take someone else for Microbiology !! I wish I would have read the reviews first. He should not teach online since he doesn't want the class to contact him. When we heard from him it was unpleasant.
Dr. Goshorn makes you work for your grade! You truly get what you deserve in his class. If you want a good /passing grade in his class listen to the lectures, take notes, and STUDY. There truly is no other way to pass his class. BY FAR one of my favorite professors who has pushed me to learn and appreciate a difficult subject! Highly recommend!!!!
Dr. Goshorn is an alright professor, but if you're looking for busy work I don't recommend him. For the most part, he's a nice guy with a sarcastic sense of humor. I was often afraid to ask questions b/c he usually always made a snarky comment in response to my emails. Almost like he doesn't want to be bothered. The course wasn't too bad altogether
If you work and are thinking about taking this in the summer... don't! It is so much work and there is an insane amount of information to learn. That being said, I learned a lot from Dr. Goshorn and this class. Make a lot of index cards (index cards work better than quizlet in this class) and take a lot of notes. Study! preferably in a group.
If you want a fair up-to-date review on Dr. Goshorn, this is it. His class is by no means hard. If you follow the powerpoints and review your notes regularly exams won't be too hard, also give yourself time to get ahead in this class. However, Goshorn is INSANELY derogative and snarky when he talks to students, doesn't make the cut as a professor.
Goshorn does a good job at setting up the layout of a class and what he expects, but Goshorn himself is super rude to students. Be on your guard.
Gives you all the information needed for tests, you just have to listen. Tests on concepts to force critical thinking.
His class is hard and he knows it. In fact he has said "it's possible to get a B in my class." He makes you work for it and get ready to do so if you really want a good grade and not just a passing grade. His tests are CRITICAL THINKING HEAVY and rote memorization is not good enough here. He can be snarky which affected some people. Don't email him
Run away! This professor was not good and makes his class almost impossible to pass and he's proud of that. If you can, take this class with a different professor that actually cares. From the looks of it, it seems difficult to find a good Microbiology professor at Bucks. Good luck to all who take this class!
Maybe because it's an online class, but you have to spend a lot of time listening and relistening to his lectures. A textbook is not needed, he gives you all the notes you need. This class is really hard and time-consuming, but he gives you everything that you need to pass. I feel like in this class you are actually forced to learn the info.
Run in the opposite direction! Seriously! Not good at all! His sense of humor is rather strange. He knows his class is extremely difficult and he takes pride in that. His online lectures weren't the best. They barely covered what was needed for the class. His study guides weren't that great either. He gets flustered when you ask for help.
Absolutely not! That's all I need to say.
Run the other way. He is so extremely rude, unprofessional, and has an attitude any time I attempted to email him with a question. Got to the point where I had to get the Dean involved, and this wasn't the first time, as per my friends. The class itself was not hard, but he made it a horrible experience.
Dr. G is hands down the hardest grader ive ever encountered. He absolutely rips you apart with his multiple mandatory possible 15+ essay questions for exams. His lectures are fair and well presented but you need to LEARN the processes. You will fail this class if you memorize. He's a bit snide and condescending as well.
Listen, this is is a high level course. Its difficult. Dr. G makes you WORK for your grade. He's not very receptive to emails. You need to understand the concepts, if you just memorize you will fail. Pay attention to the narrated PPs, his lectures dont help much. Prepare for a LOT of reading and scholarly research. Best of luck. You'll need it.
I went into this class SCARED based off all of the reviews but I find Prof Goshorn funny and receptive to his students. He has a dry sense of humor but his videoed lectures are informative and funny! You do not need a textbook as he gives you all the info you will need for the class. Work hard and you will do well.
I was nervous to take this class with this professor based off of what ive read on this website. I found him to be very fair. If you do the work and put in the effort you will pass. It's a hard course so it's not a handout, but if you show him that you are doing the work and trying, he will help you to pass. I would recommend!
Professor Goshorn is thorough. His lectures are interesting and he is fair. Test questions are worded on a higher level which can be very confusing, but he is reasonable and adjusts the tests by difficulty. Micro is challenging. You will need to work in order to pass, but if you do and he sees the effort, he will grade accordingly.
I took Dr. Goshorns microbiology course and while the coursework was challenging, he took his time to explain everything. There was no textbook for this course. Theres a lot of writing at the beginning of the semester but the workload decreases as it progresses.
I don't know if it was because this was a completely asynchronous course, but it just wasn't for me. The way he taught the material wasn't good for me. He just read off of the PowerPoint slides in all of his videos. He was pretty low contact throughout the semester and I just did not like the way he taught this class.
He's the man. Do all the assignments (he's extremely lax on the due dates, and grades them fairly). If you give a damn, you can ace the assignments, then all ya gotta do is watch his lectures and fill in the note templates he gives you. This will give you an A in the assignments, and at least Cs in the tests. That's a B!
To the people of this section who are fine with C's and B's then ignore this. Class is harder than it has to be. Yes, it's Microbiology but the professor makes the exams harder than they have to be. His use of words on the exams will trick you easily. Pretty rude and sometimes won't even reply to emails. On homework he is pretty picky grading wise.
Dr. G is a brilliant Microbiology professor. This class IS hard so show up, DO the work you will pass. Dr. G is available to help as long as you ask and grades fairly.
Dr. Goshorn did nothing to help students improve any grades. He also gave some students a grade they didn't receive to higher overall class grade for his benefit. Please refrain from taking this class if you want to keep up your 4.0. His test are made harder due to him wanting to be "respected teacher".
Dr. G is the man. His exams are open notes but the final is cumulative and closed notes. Just do the work and study, you will do well. Micro was my first B+ and broke my 4.0 but that's on me for not studying more for the final, which was very fair. He shares stories about his family and his former career during lectures. Labs were fun and engaging.
All and all he was an okay professor but be prepared to read a lot on your own because he gets so sidetracked when he is lecturing. He is also condescending in ways because he thinks everything is easy. He was extremely helpful at times but also was not. Easy to contact and was generous when it came to grading.
Personally, I find him very condescending. He is extremely rude and hard to approach. As a woman in STEM, it is such a disgrace that he has the opportunity to teach and ruin this field for such hard working people. I would never take his class again
The online labs were ridiculous and incredibly frustrating. Exams are open note and not cumulative, he offers to go over exams with students and you should definitely take him up on it. The online discussions are a mixed bag, 250-500 words a week, and he wanted you to give thorough responses to two other class mates.
The labs are tedious, the website is untrustworthy and tends to fail/shut down. One good thing is that some labs give multiple attempts.Discussion posts will take no less than an hour, & that's before you "add information" to someone ELSES research. None of which help during exams. Reading only helps, not labs. Too much work for a prereq.
Doctor G is caring, helpful, fair grader, funny, and helpful. He made a hard class to be reasonable and was always able to reach him outside class within the day. I am honestly not sure why he has any bad reviews. Hard class but he made it amazing as long as you put in your effort.
Doc G is caring, fair and understanding. Its a hard class but if you put in hard work he sees that. I would not want to take any other micro teacher. Honestly not sure why he has any bad reviews unless it is people upset they did not pass from not trying. I would take him again. He is funny and awesome.
If you want to pass...show up to his class...do the quizzes...do the outlines..do the exam reviews...read.. study and you will do great. Any questions, ask him. Then you will enjoy this class.
Professor Goshorn's enthusiasm for microbiology is off the charts! He brings the subject to life with his knowledge in the private sector. The tests are thorough and often delve into intricate details, which can be overwhelming if you're not fully prepared. It does require extra study hours. Microbiology is complex topic that requires dedication.
Honestly, I just felt like the course should have more of a structure and a better understanding based on concepts that should be covered in a hybrid course instead of us learning on our own. However, he does provide learning objectives and outdated narration lectures that were in 2017 that does not help us at understanding.
Highly recommend! Great professor & funny too. Well structured course with clear expectations and good exam preparation. Uses online textbook but everything you need is covered in his lectures and outlines. Attendance not mandatory, but for my hybrid class if you wanted points for the lab you would obviously have to be there.
Lenient with due dates on mcgraw hill. Very disorganized lecture style and doesn't provide recent materials. In recordings, he will lose his train of thought and hop between topics with no rhyme or reason. Provides no direction for exams besides "hint sheets" which are written as puns and riddles rather than topics. A class made only for passing.
Very disorganized, doesn't make it clear what you should be focusing on. Tried many different approaches to his class and was still not getting the grade I hoped for. When asking for feedback or how to improve, he just said odds are I will fail because of how far along we were. Luckily, I didn't but that was me making up for what he didn't provide.
I reached out to him outside of class because I was very overwhelmed and struggling at the beginning of the semester; he gave me clear guidance. He was super helpful and happy to help. Goshorn is one of the few professors that are actually interested in their own lectures.
great professor ! I would highly recommend
Worst professor I've taken at bucks. Speaks in codes and hidden messages instead of helping and teaching his students. Talks down to you if you don't understand things and is very unorganized. don't take.
