Great Professor, spent a ton of his own time reworking class to be more beneficial to students.
Class was great, easy and he really cares about his students. If there was any problems he would spend the time to fix and go over them.
GREAT professor. Cares about his students' understanding of the material and takes the time to go over any problems. Listens extremely well to students and their difficulties and individual situations.
This class was miserable, not a professor you want to take!
this class sucks but He is a great teacher and by far the best prof that teaches this course. He actually cares about his students and will help as much as he can you just have to ask. Best advise i can give you is actually do the Homework and Labs it is the only way to get a good grade.
All CIS 300 classes are a lot of work! But Kendra makes it easier and a lot of fun. You will not find a professor who cares more about his students. He gives partial credit instead of a curve, and is all about real world stuff, not nonsense! The best teacher for this class!
can talk him into anything
The nicest guy ever!! He is willing to go to the extreme for his students. If you care about how you do, he will too.
cool down to earth professor somtimes he can give alot of work but he is cool about it
Aweful teacher, aweful class! He loves super nerdy computer geeks and treats them like their are his own beloved kids. The rest of the class he could care less about. Jerk professor who is super cocky, very unprofessional, and super picky when it comes to grading. Not approachable for questions either. Refers to emails as "luv notes" to him"
Unlike any other instructor i've had in college. Told the class he loved us on the first day. Extremely engaged in what he does and expects you to be too. That is not my style so I did not fare well in the course. However, it's a challenging class and he's always a love note (email) away. Not unusual to receive 3-4 emails from him in a day.
Kendra is a great professor. He knows his**** and will answer any questions asked during exams. He let me take my final earlier so I could go home earlier. He legit cares about your grades and give plenty opportunities for extra credit. Overall, I enjoyed a stupid class and actually learned some stuff because of him.
Steve Kenda is an awesome professor. He is virtually always available via "Love Note" [email]. He's more than happy to help you out or let you make something up if you just communicate. Worked in the corporate world for years and knows real world.
I can easily say that Kendra is my favorite professor at UofL. I've had him for both CIS100 and CIS150 - both classes are a lot of coursework but he's very approachable and you can tell he loves to teach. I wish he taught more CIS classes here!
Awesome teacher, awesome guy. Always willing to help with any questions you might have in and out of class. A lot of coursework, homework and extra credit. Showing up to class is a must and he is fair about grading, especially if you show that youre making an honest attempt.
Great prof. would love it if he taught more classes
I absolutely love Professor Kendra and his class. He has a great sense of humor and really cares about his students. I'd recommend him to everyone! He's not super easy but he will help you if you ask.
Great professor. He's from the corporate world so he will give you a lot of real world information along with your general textbook stuff. He has a great sense of humor and is easy to approach. He does expect you to work so don't think it's a simple class but he will help you every bit of the way. Strongly recommend. Love this guy.
There was never a dull moment in his class. If the Excel lectures were getting boring, he'd interrupt with a relevant story from the workplace which almost always had a punchline. He also managed to teach me Boolean Logic, something several other teachers failed to do. This guy really goes above and beyond what is expected of him as a professor.
He is very enthusiastic and seems to really enjoy teaching and really enjoy the students. He makes the material interesting which makes it easier to retain. He is very knowledgeable and actually cares about the students. He gives us as much individual help as we need as well as provides class help once a week. He truely goes above and beyond.
I am only half way through my CIS300 course with him and I have learned more in 2 weeks(summer semester) than I did in 4 months with other profs. if you ask for help he will do anything for you. he really cares about students and will do everything in his power to help you learn.
He is a really great teacher that actually cares about his students!
He always makes his lectures interesting. I go to his office hours frequently to visit. He is also very helpful, and will make you laugh.
Great teacher, always an enjoyment to go to his classes, his review sessions are always very helpful. Makes things very interesting and is easy to talk to. Would recommend him to anyone wanting to take a CIS class
I've taken him for CIS 100 and 150. He's truly a great guy and I wish he'd teach more classes because I'd take every single one of them! Take this professor. He's not the easiest and he'll make you work for your grade, but he's a great guy and he cares about you learning the material. Thanks Professor Kendra!
This professor is great! I wish he taught every class in the COB. He cares about the students and it really funny. I am very interested through my 2 1/2 hour class than I am in my regular classes. Will have to work for grade but it is worth it!
I wish more Prof. were like Prof. Kendra. He is truly dedicated to the success of each and every one of his students. I had him for CIS 100 & 150 Fall 2011. There was a lot of information to absorb for each test, but he gave several review and practice sessions, and would stay after to help anyone that needed it.
He is truly a great professor, and takes an interest in his students to achieve in all areas of his class. He is very helpful, so if you have questions, just ask! The class is hard, but as long as you do your homework, come to class, and ask questions, you can easily achieve an A! The tests are easy if you attend review sessions!
Great professor!!! So nice and very helpful. Lot of work but he wants to make sure you do good in his class. Really wants every student to succeed. Wish I could have him for every class!
He is a great Professor who really does deserve all the chili peppers in the world! He is direct with all his students and wants you to succeed in the real world.
GREAT TEACHER TAKE HIM FOR 100 & 300
Very personable teacher. Helpful and enjoys teaching. Class is relatively easy as long as you have knowledge of Excel. Do the assignments and do well on quizzes and tests and you will get a B or higher.
Wish I had him for 100! Took Prof K for 300 & switched to CIS for my major. Excellent professor who truly cares about his students. 150 is a waste of time but he at least makes it entertaining. Attendance isn't mandatory but you get your money's worth and then some if you show up. Tests aren't too bad if you look at notes/powerpoints and do the HW.
Wonderful teacher. He really cares about the students and is extremely helpful. The class covers some difficult material if you are not used to excel, but you learn a lot. I recommend going to the Learning Assistant sessions. Best professor I've had. He likes to get the red peppers on his reviews on this site.
Best Teacher Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really great professor! He cares about the students and will go to great lengths to help you out with just about anything. If you have to take this class then he is the professor you want to have!
He is a great teacher I had 0 interest in this CIS class prior to taking it, and now I love it. Ive learned so much in there that helps me with my job. Learning excel is a very powerful tool that most jobs look for in a candidate, so you mine as well start learning it now. He's very funny and outgoing which makes a boring class fun. TAKE HIM!!!
Professor Kendra is incredibly nice. He makes the material interesting and is always there for any extra help. I'm actually sad my class ended with him today. Unlike other professors, he cares about his students and will go to great lengths to make this class worth your time since he's passionate about what he teaches. Take him! He's great!
One of the best Professors I have ever taken. Kendra is funny, informative, but most importantly, he really cares about his students. Go to class, do every assignment, and you will get an A or B. Be prepared, the workload is pretty heavy.
Prof. K is an amazing teacher and is one of the few professors at the university who take a genuine interest in his students and he goes out of his way to assist them all. If you get the opportunity to take his class then do it!
Professor Kendra was a great teacher! If you have the opportunity to take him then you definitely should. He makes the topic interesting and is really funny. The class isn't a "piece of cake" but he will do whatever he can to help a student. You definitely can't find many of those teachers at UofL!!
Great Guy
He's willing to go the extra mile to help his students understand. He'll challenge you, and you'll learn a lot.
Very helpful and wants to see his students succeed.
Great professor, very fun!
This guy is hilareous
Kendra is A BOSS. I wish more teachers were like him... If you can take any of his classes do so.
Great professor, somewhat hard class. There's not a lot of "homework" but there is a paper due about once every two weeks. Some papers are 2 pages and pretty easy. Case reports can be done in groups and 7-8 pages. Tests were the hard part for me. They cover a lot of information and have multiple essays. Kendra will help however he can though.
Kendra is one of those profs where if you don't come to class, you won't do well. His tests are hard but if you study, it makes it better. The worst are the case studies. He grades them SO much harder than anyhing else. I would reccomend working in a group for those.
Professor Kendra is wonderfully witty. He also knows the material very well and is always accommodating to students. He is what every college professor should hope to be. He knows how to have fun while engaging students in the material. I learned a whole lot from his course and will be taking additional classes with him as I am able.
Not many educators work as hard as he does for his students. Class can actually be entertaining. Case reports aren't that bad if you work in a group. His tests do require that you do a fair amount of studying, but there really aren't surprises on them if you spend time on the study guides.
He's HILARIOUS! Don't have to attend class, but hints questions to possible exam questions. Tests are easy if u study past quizzes(lots of them) Really works with his students to provide THE BEST education.I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM!! As with any CIS100 class, theres lots of work to do. (Something everyday!)
What you hope every professor to be!! Witty, real world experience & application. In depth case reports which are much better in groups. Knock all 3 required right away. Study from past tests and presentations. Go to class - Extra credit from speakers. Book reading is minimal. Highly recommend. Not the easiest but you'll learn the most.
The most interesting Computer Information Systems professor at the university. My favorite professor that I have had at UofL.
funny
Awesome professor
good professor
Great professor! Really looks out for the best interest of his students. I struggled to get adjusted to the faster than normal pace of this class in the beginning of the semester but Professor Kendra was more than willing to meet with me to help my transition into this class easier. Very patient and very willing to help. I highly recommend him!
He is hilarious! There was never a dull moment in class which made learning the material somewhat fun. The workload is heavy so get on it right away! Attendance is not mandatory but he is known to thrown in some pop quizzes here and there.
Prof. Kendra is an amazing professor, he genuinely cares about his students. On the last day of class as we were dismissed he gave everyone a hug goodbye, that's the first time I've ever witnessed this practice. Classes aren't too hard, just go to class, study and keep up with the material.
TAKE KENDRA! Can't say enough about this guy. Very funny (always joking about mac users and dumb accounting majors) Fair amount of work, but that in every CIS class, not just his. Never had a professor that cared more about his students. Always sending out emails and responds usually within a few hours, definitely going to take more of his classes!
If you want to have fun in a class AND actually learn something take Kendra. He cares so much about his students, and helps you as much as you need it. He makes you earn your grade, but assignments are not super hard they are just challenging so you learn. Best professor I've had as a senior.
Work hard and it'll pay off... WORK REALLY HARD
great and funny just be ready to do a lot of work!
Fun dude. You'll miss him if you can't take him for 300. I certainly do.
He's sort of a tough grader when it comes to grading papers, and there are a LOT of papers in this class, but he's one of those rare teachers that truly enjoys his job and greatly enjoys helping his students. And he'll go above and beyond the call of duty to help each individual student out as if it was the most important thing in the world to him!
Kendra is a very helpful teacher. If you pay attention in class and study you will be fine in this class. Don't wait till the last minute when studying or doing assignments. It will hurt you in the long run! If you want a funny but caring teacher take KENDRA!
He's everything the academia should be. He's there to help you. All the amazing things you learn can be applied in the real world. DO WORK HARD BECAUSE YOU'LL GET A VALUABLE FRIENDSHIP AND A's. He truly realizes there's a world outside class and cares for your well-being. Best professor I think I will ever have. Enjoy his feedback!
Entertaining. Always willing to help with honest input
Amazing professor
Great professor with great sense of humor. He one of the few professors that truly enjoys coming to class and teaching. He is very clear and is always willing to answer questions. This can be an easy class if you work hard and keep up with the work.
Great professor. He deserves his chili.
Awesome teacher that cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Always willing to help with anything and has a great sense of humor. He will make you laugh and he enjoys teaching!
Very funny and sarcastic but in a good way.
This was one of my favorite classes at U of L since I transferred here. Very funny and keeps the class interesting while adding real life advice that is extremely useful. If you ever have a question just email him, his responses are very quick.
Most unique professor I have had while in college. A little crazy at times but in a funny and entertaining way. The class itself is difficult but he is very willing to help. Sometimes he doesn't understand how much coursework he gives out at once and it can be overwhelming but he is the best CIS teacher at U of L for sure.
Kendra is an awesome guy! The class is mostly busywork (not hard, just time consuming) and he's available & willing to help you around the clock. He loves to pick on Acct majors & Mac users, and everyone else for that matter... You'll enjoy his class. He knows his stuff and is quite amusing! He'll answer questions and help you learn. TAKE him!
A little exotic, but Mr. Kendra is a good teacher who will not only teach you CIS, but most importantly....thing that relate to REAL LIFE! There's a lot of work, but it's all stuff that is interesting and not hard to learn. One of the BEST at UL.
Prof K is a great teacher. He's very funny which keeps class from being boring, but he also knows his stuff. His CIS100 course is laid out very well. Show up to class everyday and do all the assigned work before each assignment deadline and you should be fine. It was a fun class.
He might not explain a lot during the class, but that's what the online supplementary assignments are for (which are required anyways) But the classes are fun, and he's always willing to help you during his office hours.
Kendra is my favorite professor at U of L. He is very funny and loves to pick on Mac users. The class is not easy, but it is definitely worth it. He grades a little tough, but provides more than enough feedback to better prepare you for the next assignment. I would absolutely take Kendra again.
Best professor in louisville. Have taken him multiple times. Highly recommended him.
Although going to class is essential to passing because of pop quizzes he rarely lectures on the subject at hand. He always tries to impress you with his knowledge and frequently makes bad jokes that are uncomfortable.
This is my third class with Kendra- the only regret I have is that this man isn't tenured or teaching more classes. I'd take anything he taught- even ballet. He is funny and I like to think he believes in all of his students, grades fairly and truly wants whats best for me. The best teacher at UofL by far, worth my entire tuition almost.
This is one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. Prof Kendra is a very hilarious guy, but also a very good professor and actually cares about his students learning and doing well in his class. The class itself has a lot of assignments but he clearly lays out all due dates and has a list of everything in the semester. Would recommend.
He wants you to succeed. One of the best professors in the School of Business.
If you pay attention and do the work his class is an easy A. I wouldn't recommend taking his class in conjunction with a heavy work load.
Provides good real world experience. Doesn't talk over your head and understands life happens and that you have one. One of the best professors I've had in my years in college
He is one of the best professors and my favorite thus far, hands down. There will be a lot of work but the work is intended to give you practice using what you learned. As long as you listen in class and do the assignments before the due date it's a fairly easy grade. He cares about his students and genuinely wants you to succeed.
Awesome teacher. Gets off topics sometimes, but he will usually get back on track. Really helpful if you go see him outside of class. Loves to help students find jobs and help get them ready for the real world. Good guy still keep in touch with him on the reg. Not to hard to get a good grade if you put in some sort of work.
Kendra is an AMAZING teacher! In this class, you will expect a lot of homework, but it is not that difficult. He is not only a GREAT teacher, but he is a GREAT person overall! He is by far the BEST teacher at the University of Louisville!
Kendra is one of the best professors i've had at the University of Louisville. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He would always try to help prepare us for the real world, letting us know about volunteer opportunities, jobs, etc. Great teacher. I would definitely take him again.
tough class, but he is a great professor and does a great job of helping students who struggle
Kendra is by far one of my favorite teachers here. He cares about his students and if they do good in his class. He has lots of real world experience he is willing to share and is open to helping you find an internship. His tests are decent if you study and attend class. He gives out lots of extra credit and holds study sessions.
Kendra is the best teacher ever! I've been in college for awhile now and he's definitely made me more streamlined to where I want to go. Definitely taking him for the rest of my time at UofL. See you next semester!
He is a great professor! Would've had an A but missed an online assignment over Thanksgiving break and which dropped it a little. Love how he tells us what we are learning and how it is used in the real world. Would love to take him again for 300 but he isn't teaching it :( Made sure to let us know that he is always there for us in the future.
Extremely helpful with everything CIS. Makes lectures very entertaining and spells out everything in an easy to follow fashion. Great at communication and teaching, best professor I have had thus far.
Awesome professor, and he is probably the best one to take in all CIS classes
Great professor, engages students in class very well and does all he can to help. Really makes the class fun. Lot's of work but easy to do if you follow the schedule.
All around exceptional professor and great representative of UofL
GREAT TEACHER!
lot of work online... you HAVE to keep up with it!
Pretty awesome, not doing the best in his class, however. One of the best CIS professors to take. Gives really good advice based off of life experience wants you to succeed.
Great professor and is very engaging. Really fun class and you learn a lot too. You need to do all the online assignments in order to do good in the class. I highly recommend taking him for this class.
Tons of online homework, but Kendra is an amazing lecturer. He's hilarious and knows exactly what he's talking about.
Great teacher! Really helps you get ready for the real world
One of my best professors. Take him for 100 and maybe 150
Excellent teacher! If you go to class you will learn a lot and he is hilarious! Be prepared to study a lot but if you stay on top of your assignments you will do great! You also get extra credit!
Make sure you keep up to date with assignments and take advantage of extra opportunities for credit. A real fun guy who makes you actually want to learn CIS
Goes the extra mile to help students out. He really tries to get you to think about about the material not just do the work.
His in class lectures are the best, makes you feel that he is part of the class not above it. Makes a real effort to get to know the students and provides great opportunity for networking with professionals in the Business field outside of class.
Steve is a great teacher and great homo-sapien all around! Helps you in any thing your heart desires.
As a veteran with disabilities, I would recommend this professor. He truly is passionate about teaching, and is a wise, insightful person. He will make you earn your grade, but not without teaching you something every step of the way. He truly cares about each student, and is always available, prompt and insightful in his correspondence.
Professor Kendra is my favorite professor thus far at Louisville
He's a great professor. I would miss assignments and he would allow me to make them up if I messaged him in time. I'm sure he found me annoying but at the same time he knew I was one of the best students. He's funny and likes to joke around, but gets straight to the work. Wish he was teaching CIS300 in the Summer instead of the others though.
Class should be renamed Business Ethics. EXTREME amount of busy work. EXTREMELY tough grader. Seriously, this is a 100 level course. Got A's on all quizzes/exams but he didn't like group projects so ended up with a C. I took Steve based on reviews from RateMyProfessor. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy, but terribly on 4.0s. Don't TAKE HIM!
It is insane to me that people can get A's on every single quiz and exam yet get a B in the course. He certainly explains all of his grades, but his criteria is not outlined well at all and so you WILL loose points for something you had no idea about. It is impossible to earn an A without other people affecting your grade. Total garbage, avoid him.
Professor Kendra has been my favorite professor at UofL. He genuinely cares about all of his students and wants all of them to do well. He is very willing to help you with a problem until you understand it. Highly recommend taking him!
So hot and a great guy! Class is interesting but will require a lot of busy work. Keep up with it and it's an easy A.
Best teacher I've had at UofL! Really cares about his students & if you put the effort in, he'll make sure you understand it. I'm not very good with computers, but got an A in this class. It's a lot of work, but he's a great teacher.
Kendra is fantastic professor. You have to study outside of class to do well, but it's still worth going to class, because his lectures are great. He does give a lot of group work, which is kind of bad, but I'm sure it will help when we are all in the workplace. Overall, good guy and good teacher.
He may be nice as a person but he spends more time trying to be funny and flirt than actually teaching the material in a clear and professional way. His classes are usually organized and he is hard to reach outside of class. Only time he is acting serious is when he is grading.
Lots of assignments and quizzes
Very good professor, makes class interesting. Just be sure to keep up with the online hw
A lot of online homework to keep up with but all is very doable. He keeps class interesting!
Easy class. His lectures are helpful and the homework is easy even thought there is a lot. Keep up with the homework and it will be an easy A.
I really enjoyed this class. Do all assignments and keep up with everything. He makes it easy to get an A if you do all the work. He also makes it easy to keep up with everything and your actual grade with his supplemental documents for the class.
Mr. Kendra was by far the most interesting professor I have had at UofL! It is hard not to pay attention in his course because he is SO hilarious! Take notes in class, because what he talks about in class will be on the exams. I rarely used the book, but if you don't pay attention, you will need it. Also, he deserves many chili peppers! ;) Easy A!!
Great professor! Lots of assignments, but it makes it easier to get a good grade and they are pretty easy.
Kendra is a great person. You learn so much in the class and it's actually enjoyable. There is a lot of online work that can bring your grade down if you forget it. If you have a good excuse, he'll let you redo it. At the end of the semester, I had an A- and he let me do extra work after the exam to get an A. He really cares about his students
Great Professor! He truly cares about all of his students.
Great professor but takes this class much more seriously then CIS 100 he's a much tougher grader so go to class and pay attention.
Kendra is an outstanding professor. He passionate about his work, and that is conveyed in his teaching style. While he is blunt about his expectations, he makes sure to offer himself to his students as a mentor outside of class. Kendra is funny, personable, and has real-world experience that he uses to advance the knowledge of his students.
He is a funny and unique professor. I strongly strongly recommend this teacher!
Great Guy!
Professor Kendra is truly one-of-a-kind.
Prof. Kendra is the best professor I've had and I'm sad I won't be able to take him again. I can tell he truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He goes over everything you need to know for exams and gives good feedback on quizzes and exams. Take notes on the modules and study them, and practice with excel, and you'll get an A.
Lots of assignments, but good class. Very responsive professor and class is always relevant to homework and exams.
Kendra is great. He keeps the class interesting and really does care about the students. There are a ton of assignments so make sure you stay on top of that because they can make or break your grade in the long run and they will help you prepare for the quizzes and tests.
Kendra is entertaining and makes CIS100 interesting throughout the semester. He is very clear and straightforward at the beginning of the semester about what is expected of the students. I loved the grading template he provided so we could see our projected grade throughout the semester. Lots of HW, but it's pretty easy. Exams are definition heavy.
Awesome professor, pay attention in class and do all the work an you'll automatically understand the work and he is very laid back!
Im just doing this because he told me to give him the chili peppers
Kendra is a great professor. He cares about his students, and teaches in a way that is both hilarious and informational.
Professor Kendra has the depth of experience that brings immense value to this class. His teaching style is somewhat manic, but you will leave the course with a real-world applicable knowledge of general computer systems, Excel and Access as used in the US business world. Highly recommended, wish he taught more classes!
Pretty much the same from CIS 100/250. Class is getting revamped soon so not sure if he's going to change his teaching style. Class is currently ethics with touches on info systems. Easy class in general. 2 case projects and a few group projects. Fairly easy class though.
Steve is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had. I took him last summer and it was great. Showing up to class five days a week was no problem because class was never boring. Can be a really large work load as are all CIS classes. Tests aren't that hard. He is a great guy and I would recommend to anyone taking CIS 100 (now 150 I think).
Really good at giving lectures, likes to be funny-sarcastic. However be prepared for computer homework and getting them done on time. tests aren't too bad, but needs study days.
Professor K was a great professor to take at U of L. I would recommend a course taught by him to anyone. He genuinely cares about his students and provides very valuable information without being textbook heavy. Attendance isn't mandatory but going to lectures is what teaches you what you need to know for tests and quizzes. Homework is plentiful.
Kendra is a great guy. This class will make you work, but in the end you will have learned material that is actually useful. I felt that this class actually made a difference in my life. He's a quirky guy, but straightforward on assignments and tests and tells it like it is. Stay on top of things study and you will walk away w/ an A or B
Kendra is the man, I enjoyed his class a lot. Really sharp guy and he's very interesting. The course entails a lot of work so keep up with it, but that's just a part of the class across the board Kendra helps to make it a little easier to take on the load. He actually cares and that's why he's one of the best.
"K" is the best prof I've had at UofL. He is loud but very caring. Do all the assignments ( about 4 per week) and keep up with the work and you should be fine. Learn how to do excel and access and learn myitlab chapters to ace the exams. 4 Extra credit opportunities helped too. Cares about students and teaches valuable stuff. Steve's a great person
Steve is hilarious. He makes me laugh every class. He is the most caring professor I've had at UofL. Would recommend to anyone. He replies to emails immediately and makes the material interesting. Offers EC and volunteer opportunities often. Easy A or B if you work for it. THERE IS A LOT OF WORK, DON'T TAKE IF YOU WON'T WORK FOR IT!
Great teacher
Love Kendra, great teacher
Steve Kendra is such a funny guy who actually makes CIS fun. He taught me so much about excel and wants everyone to get an A in his class. He is a teacher who truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed.
Very respectable guy. Responds to emails quickly. Loves his students. I would recommend him to anybody. I am a Marketing major and this class was very uninteresting and somewhat challenging to me but he made it fun and educational at the same time. There is a lot of work with this class so make sure you keep up with it and ask questions!!!
Kendra is great! There is a lot of work on MYITLab, but you know about them way in advance, so work ahead to put yourself in a good place. As long as you do all the assignments you will pass. But be prepared to really study for tests as they are no joke. If you want a good grade, send him sample questions before the test (sometimes he uses them!)
Kendra is the bees knees. Enough said.
Very caring professor who is willing to help you when you need it. Assigns a lot of out of class homework, but none of it is very hard.
He's a good professor and has a good sense of humor. He also is far more understanding than most other professors that I have had.
The best professor I have had so far. He will be your mentor and your friend. Teaches in a way that actually makes you learn and participate. Would absolutely recommend.
Great class participation, makes class interesting!
Great professor and loves his students. He is really passionate about this work and email us every single day.
Awesome choice! Would take again!!
Probably the best professor in the COB. You do a lot of homework online but then he teaches it in class so you definitely know what you're doing. There are 3 tests and a final but the tests aren't worth that much. You have to stay on top of the homework to pass but it's laid out really well for you to succeed.
I'll put it this way. You won't regret taking him. He does give out a LOT of homework so be prepared for that. So PLAN AHEAD. Do your work, STUDY for tests and you're golden. He talks about his life a lot, but it's "goofy" talk. He really tries to help you learn the material
Kendra is the best. Class is hard, theres a lot of homework, tests were fairly difficult but if you study youll be fine. Make sure you actually know how to use excel and access, not just reading about it. Listen to his reviews right before the test because he will say some of the harder questions on the exam. One of my favorite professors.
Kendra is an overrated professor. He goes on long rants about his life and then usually makes some sarcastic or petty comment singling out a student who isn't paying attention to his boring lectures. He really doesn't do anything to make the enormous work load any better and he is really bad about keeping on topic. Not good by any means
Dont miss assignments and youll at least get a B. Good dude. Best entry level CIS professor
The best professor ever!!!!!! Not exaggerating at all, take him! you will not regret it at all. I would take 100 more times seriously.
Kendra is the best CIS professor at UofL. The class is hard, I am not going to lie, but e is always ready to help. If you did the online homework and stayed ahead of things you will be totally fine, show up to class, let him see that you care. He is so caring and understanding, he will make you love the class trust me. Take him, you will not regret
The best professor ever!!!!!!!! Trust me, you will never regret taking him. Kendra is amazing in every single way!!!!!
I would take him for all my CIS classes if I had the option. He is amazing in every single way.
Best professor I've had yet at U of L. Cares about you and really wants to see you get an A in his class. I've never used excel before and I am about to get an A in the class all because of Kendra.
Overall, I think Professor Kendra is a great professor and would gladly take him again.
The best professor ever!!! Hands down! Seriously you will not regret taking him.
Professor Kendra is caring and very generous instructor. Assignments were done though My IT Lab and Blackboard. There were a few in class quizzes and few tests, with the final exam being optional, replacing your lowest test score. There are a few extra credit opportunities and he gives feedback on commonly missed questions and previews test/quiz.
Kendra is so caring about each student and I have loved having him this semester. I took 250 online and now I have him for CIS 300 so there was a lot of catching up I had to do. As long as you go to class lectures, do your homework, group work and etc then you will be fine. I have loved this course!
I took CIS 205 online with synchronous online lectures. This was my first semester of college and I was worried about this class being boring, but Kendra made it very fun and easy to understand. Hes seriously such a nice dude, offers plenty of extra credit and responds to emails quickly. Definitely take one of his classes if you can!
I took CIS205 with prof K online during covid and he was awesome. The tests were given on a lockdown browser but he gave extra credit on each test. I got over a 100 on my tests and he always emailed me after he graded them to congratulate me which was super encouraging. Read the textbook and do the McGraw Hill assignments and you'll be fine.
Prof.K is very helpful, and is very considerate do the HW and you will do just fine on quizzes and tests. Final is not cumulative
Professor Kendra is a great dude. He really cares about students and will help. He is very accessible via email and during office hours. CIS 205 was a pain though. Loads of homework that felt like busywork. I don't blame him because it is a lot of content. I would take him again, but CIS is not fun unless it's your major.
Class is in fact very easy if you put in the time and work. Lots of homework on Smartbook and quiz on every chapter. There are four exams and are all proctored through Proctorio. He gives away essay questions through the view of his lectures so make sure to watch those. All in all, professor really sets you up for success.
