He's an awesome teacher! At first when he gives you the syllabus you worry because it looks like a lot of work but then again, i took the class in a six week summer course. It should be a lot less tidious in the longer terms because he tells you exactly what he wants. Take him, its an A if you do all of his work and read the book........

Took in Summer A. ery demanding for short period of time. 2 personal speeches, 1 team speech. Knows what he is teaching. Seems strict, but he is just straight to the point and very helpful. Gives great and specific criticism on speeches that are really helpful to learn from.

ot of work no matter who you take it with but for the most part it's not hard work. 4 exams, not so hard (he curves). 2 speeches, one pain in the butt 30 min group presentation and some odd assignements. The class wasn't so interesting when it first started, but the professor made it pretty interesting. His assignments are based around speaking and communicating (no, duh), so it might help that you get over public speaking shyness just a little bit. He is a cool professor and makes it easy to understand all the content.

Extremely useful class for those who want to polish their speaking and writing bussiness skills. Professor is clear and concise,and sticks to the syllabus for the most part. Strict with "order of things", make sure you do as the instructions say or you are doomed.

This class takes work, but an A is easily attainable. He makes the class interesting and he is a really nice guy. He will give a study guide for his exams, which are not hard at all, and he curves them too. Really fun class.

Took this fully online and it was easy. You do have to stay on top of the 9 quizzes and 4 written assignments. Read the chpts before the quizzes or you are screwed. He doesn't provide much in the way of discussion online but if you email he will respond EVENTUALLY. There are grammar quizzes. Stay on top of the work and it will be an easy A.

I hated having this as part of my class list. However, he made the class sounded so interesting by not just teaching the academics but rather adding touch-ups like BUYING GOLD(thx professor!)and other current business-related issues. Lots of work, but it facilitates u to learn. Very fair in grading esp. in speeches (where i knew i sucked).recommend

this class is very helpful in the real world. you learn about everything business and even though its not the most interesting thing..you still will use it. he is very sarcastic and can be a debbie downer..but overall a good class!

ONLINE COURSE: I took this class online. You take 2 quizzes every week, except for the weeks you have to submit written assignments(4). I had a low B average on the quizzes but aced all of the written assignments. There is an Ex. Credit test at the end of the course which can raise you a letter grade. The class isn't cake but the EC makes up for it

I believe he's left now, but I would recommend his course. The group project could be a big pain in the arse. If you get a "special" group of people like I did, it will be a challange. To succeed in your group project, read Chapter 11 in Guffey on how to deal with groups. I lost a year out of my life because of those wonderful people...

He is a good professor! I got a "B" in his class. The class consists of 5 quizzes which are really simple, 3 exams, 1 group project presentation, and 1 individual presentation and some assignments that we had to do from the book. I wish I could've gotten an "A." If you want to take COM3110 I would recommend Professor Stephen Luscher. just take him!

If you want to learn Business writing, take him. He is very knowledgeable and gives you the opportunity to get a good grade. I think FIU should hire more professors like Mr. Luscher.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class!!! Luscher is so funny. He makes current events come alive. Assignments are varied: in-class quizzes, a group speech, individual speeches, homework, midterm, and final. Seems like a lot but you don't even realize it. Best experience I've had at FIU. It is alot of work and a group presenation, but on easy topics. You have to give an individual presentation, but that is easy as well. Lots of grammar quizzes. He makes the class interesting and fun.

Luscher is an amazing teacher! He tries to keep the class interested and really cares about his students. If you study some what you will pass the mid term and final. He does speech examples and outlines before every speech, so it's pretty impossible to do poorly. Great teacher, take Luscher!

Very easy class, as long as you stand up and give a speech, he will give you a good grade, There were people who went 2 minutes overboard or where 2 minutes short and still got an A. He is a very nice professor which is always willing to help. Very easy class in which you will learn a skill used for your entire life. A must for business majors.

this class is a joke. if you don't get a A or B then you seriously are lazy or stupid. Professor Luscher is a great teacher!He is nice, funny, made the class interesting and you actually learn. Most things he teaches in this class will actually benefit you in the "real world" (especially in Business). He is a fair grader.There is work envolved but if you show effort he also works with you. Professor Luscher is a great!!! take his class. I took him online for international business communication. You have weekely assignments that are easy 20% of your grade (3 written short questions), 1 paper 20%, and 2 exams midterm and Finals 60% of your grade. Exams are difficult if you don't read your book and take notes. Got an A in his class.

Love this guy! Took him in the summer - hybrid. A lot of easywork but he stays after class and does it all with you. Soo funny and entertaining. Best professor at FIU. love him seems like a lot of writing assignments at first but theyre so easy and take about 30 min to do. easy basic grammer quizzes that you should be prepared for just from knowing it in high school. one easy report, mid term, final and a speech. he also goes over all your work before you submit to tell you what you need to fix so its an easy A

He is very easy. It is a writing class but all assignments are easy, last report is long but he doesn't care about the content. He just wants to know that you know how to format and use correct grammar. One 5 min oral presentation. All assignments are easy I would definitely recommend him. Easy A. The lectures are fun and gives you exactly what you need to know without all the fluff. Writing assignments are graded based on structure rather than content. MidtermFinal are online open-book. Professor Luscher is your best option for Com3150.. He's not a tough grader at all. The material is extremely easy. There are 5 super easy quizzes (he gives you 100% on your lowest quiz), and a couple of online tests. Speech at the end & online book required by the department. His class is well structured and he communicates well.

Took this two Credit class Online, Professor had A LOT of work every week, at the middle of the semester they realize it was to much. Weekly Grammar quizzes(HARD) and Textbook quiz 20 min ,2 tries . and video's questions . No Final Or midterm, but during the course you will have 3 memos, 3 letters. a lot for two credit class but doable.

Easy class. 3 easy assignments, 18 quizzes (he drops the 3 lowest quizzes) and a speech at the end. Easy grader didn't see anybody in my class get less than 90% in the speech. Some in-class assignments in groups but doesn't matter if you get it wrong or not. Quiz answers are not online but are word by word in the book so get an online version.

I took him for two business writing courses. He's a great professor. I took him online, but thoroughly enjoyed taking him in person.

It was a pretty straightforward class, a speech every week or two weeks. Sundays theres quizzes dues so youll need to use the textbook for them, recommend getting it online so you can Ctrl + F which makes them easier and quicker to find answers. Only one paper- 1500 words, and two homework assignments which were easy to do.

Interesting class, however, the professor needs to work on feedback. Otherwise, quizzes are easy and grading is very straightforward.

The class was pretty simple. Grammar quizzes, chapter quizzes, letter, memo, business proposal, and oral presentation. He's an easy grader so i got A's on most of his assignments. The only annoying thing is that he takes a while to email back and his instructions are sometimes vague. You can find the answers to the quizzes and textbook online

This is my first time grading a professor and I had to create an account to grade Mr. Luscher. I took him for COM 3112 fully online and he is truly great. Don't get me wrong, he does gives a lot of homework but you can do it. I took 5 classes total this summer and I am no nerd, as long as you follow instructions you will receive an A+. He cares.

Really easy class. The textbook is only used on 3 quizzes which all really easy with no proctor. You have to write a couple of letters and memos but, they all only have to be one page except for the last one which was 3.

Professor Luscher is a good professor. I took him online and there were a lot of assignments, but nothing impossible to do. It does take time though but overall is an easy class with no test, only essays, and quizzes. He gives you extra credit if you want to improve your grade.

Very nice professor, easy assignments each week. Not really in need of a textbook but makes the quizzes easier. Would I pay for the book? nah. quizzes. The class has about one assignment a week, it takes anything from 10 minutes to up to an hour. One group project, short on time. The only thing I don't like, assignments locked until a week before.

Class was entirely online. Book is also online, and it does come in handy. Workload is not too heavy but the midterm and final are pretty tricky. Professor Luscher is easy to contact. Just do all the assignments and you'll pass.

The class was about nonverbal communication and his lectures help with painting a picture for what the textbook talks about. The textbook was necessary for box figure assignments and can be used to cite in your papers. It's about 1-2 written assignments per week, but they're pretty easy. He is also open to working with you about late work.

I took this class in the summer and it was a breeze. A minimal amount of work and only one group project (he gave everyone an 100). You don't even need the textbook. 100% would take again just because it was so easy.

This was an easy and straightforward class. The assignments were manageable, and Unstuck study was helpful for quiz prep. Professor is clear on expectations, but not overly involved. Textbook optional, as quizzes are the main challenge.
