Be ready for lots of homework and funny stories. His stories are always great to make up for a bad day. Teaches very clearly and relates it to real life.

this was my favorite math teacher. he explained everything so clearly and i understood it. i hate math because i'm so bad at it but it made sense when he taught it. his jokes are funny too!

Very straighforward teacher. Been teaching for a long time, so he knows what should be covered. Not the easiest of teachers, but is very fair. Runs a tight ship in class, if you like a teacher who doesn't give/take any BS then you should take him.

The bandini stuff rocks man!!! lol, makes math fun for you, and with all his crazy stories and examples, you are gonna have fun for sure!

Great guy and good personality! Likes to talk about life and life-stories. Math-wise, he's good, been teaching for a while, and knows his stuff. Tests are kinda hard if you don't try to study or do the hw. overall, good Teacher!

Great teacher. His positive attitude really helped me through the course. He makes class engaging. He is funny and tells great stories that are relevant to the study of math. I learned more than Algebra taking his class. If you study and do the homework, you will do well in his class.

Ok,let me tell you the truth.He is a very nice guy,and he cares a lot about his students.BUT his grading sucks,takes off points on every little algebra error and the total possible points are 225 so even (-2) counts a lot.He confuses the hell out of me with his: crank it up,run it through vocab.Not very qualified to teach math 108.Hard tests! 6/10

Marsden is probably the best math professor at GCC. he is knowledgable; he knows what he teaches; however, his tests are not easy!!! nontheless, he is a clear about his tests; he exactly tells you what is going to be on the test!!! let's crank it up !!!

a mathematical guru. One of the best at GCC. Can explain material according to each student's level of understanding. Very friendly,loves what he does each day and makes math fun,granted the material's not easy, but he makes it understandable.

This teacher is the best math teacher i have ever had he gave me an A and i got the highest grade on the final in my class very hellpful explanes things perfectly but his tests suck, he tries to confuse you alot, but there not that bad if you pay atention in class and do homework youl get a good grade.

He is a good teacher and explains everything, but his grading sucks. He is a very picky grader taking off points here and there and then you end up with a grade you wouldnt expect...dissapointed...

He is a wonderful teacher.His lectures are easy to understand & interesting. He tells exactly what questions he's going to give on the tests. I took his class during the winter & got a C. I know that a lot of you could get a better grade. I hope he teaches Math 136 during fall & spring semesters b/c you would get a better appreciation of his work.

hes so helpful.. his lectures are great and he makes you understand the material very well. his tests however are really hard... but he is a great teacher nonetheless. DEFINITELY take him (hes funny too!)

I took him for both 119 and 145, He is a good teacher. He takes the time to explain things very well and is good on returning homework and tests on time. He is also very prepared and knows his stuff! It was rather disturbing to read such disparaging remarks made about this teacher, math is my worst subject and he made it enjoyable!

He is a very good teacher and still has lots of enthusiasm for the subject. He may not be the easiest grader, but he is a great teacher, and you will understand what you are doing and why. He sticks to the book and his tests are not tricky but are not super-easy. If your Math skills are solid, and you can commit to the class, you will enjoy it.

He is wonderful. This was the first math class I ever took in college and I loved it. He really cares about his students and the subject. There is a test for each chapter and homework is turned in right before the test. He is not easy but he teaches very well!

Very clear explainations, good sense of humor, and goes over homework problems and each tests that is taken. As long as you do the work and take the tests you should pass! Out of all the math teachers I've ever had, he is absolutely the best! Overall a good experience.

extremely hard teacher. he knows what hes doing and hes very very serious about this subject. he grades homework in depth so do it because he will catch you if youre just trying to wing it. hes strict but good if you apply yourself accordingly

A great math teacher. Probably one of the best I had so far. He tells you whats going to be on the test so there are no suprises. He is funny as well and tells some math jokes here and there. Lots of HW which is very helpful cuz its the only way you going to pass this guys class. His lectures are great. And a helpful teacher with great explaination

HE IS A VERY HELPFUL TEACHER. If you are bad in math, your in luck he will definitely teach good and clearly! Grade is based on how well you do in test's and adds HW into the score so ALWAYS do your hw cuz i HELPS. if you pay attention youll get it so easily. Best Math Teacher I've ever HAD!

He is an excellent teacher he keeps track of all your grades and talks to you if your falling behind the tests are extremely hard so study for them. also DO THE HOMEWORK it will help your grade so much even though i dropped the class i recommend him. that shows how good he is

Just finished his Math 136 class (statistics) during the winter. Got an A, but worked for it, my rating of easiness is based on class no the teacher, and the class was 3/5 on easiness 5/5 being the easiest. Prof. Marsden is very smart and really covers everything students need to know, book based, Used TI, and great lectures, do the homework !

Prof Marsden is a good teachr but don't take him during a 5 wk sessn. He's too hard for a good grade. You will work your butt off just to get a C. He may be better during reg sessn, but if Math is not your major, do not take him, he is the dept chair and takes it very seriously. No easy grade, if you've had stats, he's OK. sorry prof, had to do it.

great teacher. he explains things very clearly you just have to pay attention if you dont well then its your fault. take him im going to take him for my 119 teacher so hes really good.

This guy does math like doing magic, nonstop and unstuck. He deeply understands math and he can teach it. Problem is his tests. It's like climbing mount everest. If you have no prior experience, you will suffer. Be smart about this class.

He is the best math teacher so far I know of. He can explain you all concepts of algebra and calculus profoundly and easily to understand. Getting A in his class is not impossible, but you need to prepare well for the exam. His assigned homework is pretty much enough for exams if you truly understand what's the meaning of each homework problem.

Gives the exams back to you the next day. :) Fun professor. You'll learn about Math while learning about life. :)

I have a learning disability and took this professor because my counselor recommended him. I usually have a lot of difficulty with math, but I enjoyed this class. He is a good professor and very straight forward w/ his tests. Do the homework and you will be fine. I received a C due to missing a few weeks, and not being able to make up the work.

Pretty cool professor.test are hard and counts homework As part of your test grade. Takes role everyday but explains math subjects really good.

Do yourself a favor and take him. He simplifies everything and does not believe in surprises when it comes to tests. Takes the time to review before tests and always goes over homework. Do what you're expected of and you'll easily get an A.

Best teacher ever!! he assigns alot of homework but its very helpful and he makes the class interesting which is really hard to do with math. Hes the easiest teacher I've ever had but I learned so much!!

Okay class if u actually study every single day and never fall behind on homework. Tests have, as he says, "no surprises" but have the most difficult problems he can make up so it's hard to get a good grade on any test. Most of the class dropped.

he is the best teacher ever. You will have 6 tests overall, and he drops your lowest grade. He knows his subject very well and knows how to explain the material to the class in a way that everyone can understand.he is very helpful and will answer to all of your questions even for 100 times if he has too. Do ur hw everyday and study for the tests.

Very helpful. He doesnt make the class more stressful or more difficult than it has to be. If you do your hw every night and study thoroughly enough to actually understand the material you'll get at least a B. He lowered the grading scale so a 77% was a B for my class so that helps a lot

Marsden is the best!!! I struggled alot with calc 103 and he made 104 a much better experience for me! he is extremely fair in everything he does- he lets the class know what type of problems will be on the test in order to make sure everyone is prepared. & I love his sense of humor! :) TAKE HIM!!

Amazing professor! He knows his stuff, so he is able to explain clearly. Its math, you have to study, but it's worth it because his tests match exactly what he teaches and the homework he assigns. He does his part, so if you do yours...you'll be successful no doubt! Take this professor, you won't regret it!

If you really wish to learn math this is the professor to take! He gives many different examples until you understand it. Very funny man too. Thanks to him I enjoy math so much. His tests questions are nearly the same as the lectures. He does not try to to trick you at all. I wish he taught every math course but he doesn't teach by sequence.

He is such an amazing teacher with great lectures. Makes calculus easy. He has been teaching 40+ years and he knows what he is doing.

He teaches perfectly. Starting from very basic to harder problems. If he had other classes I would definitely take him again. He explains problems clearly that everyone can understand them easily. Tests are exactly from what he teaches.

Most of the students here who left bad reviews don't put in enough work to deserve the grade they want. They blame the professor instead. Calculus overall is a difficult subject; it's not an easy A class. Professor Marsden was an amazing professor. I learned a lot in his class. If you work hard, do the hw and do well on his exams, you'll get the A.

Professor Marsden was great. Going into the class, I was terrified by the subject of Calculus yet he found a way to make the subject so understandable and easy to do! He prepares you extremely well for each exam as he never throws surprises on the test. Wish he was teaching 104 I would definitely take him.

Mr Marsden is the best teacher you could take for this subject. He is a very nice and respectful guy that helps you as much as you can to pass the class. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities at random throughout the semester that help you grade a lot. This class isn't easy but he'll make it understandable even if you suck at math

Professor Marsden is the best professor you can take for Math112. Business Calculus is not an easy class, and you won't pass it if you do not work hard. Prof. Marsden explains very clearly and gives tons of examples to make it easier to understand. Also, tests are based on his examples, practice tests, and homework. Thank you professor!

Professor Marsden has been the best math professor I've had at GCC. He provides a lot of feedback on his grading which helps you understand how you got the problem wrong. He is always willing to meet with you and discuss to further help you in the course. This is still a calculus class so it is still difficult and you have to pay attention to learn

Many unfair statements here. The best Math professor whom I ever met. The schedule is designed with perfect accuracy, detailed explanations before every exam, weekly office hours,15 possible extras, he drops the lowest exam grade (not Final). This course is for smart, hardworking, and decent people. Cheating is not accepted. Will recommend 100%!!!

Professor Marsden is a very organized, nice, and caring person, not rude at all! However, he is extremely against cheating and that's why some students had to drop the course. I wish he were a little more easygoing but he is tough grader. But I like him and yes I will take him again.

I've never cared to write a review on a Professor, but Mr. Marsden deserves it. His class is tough but if you do the homework you will do good on the tests. He explains the subject very well. He also does a group study session during class the day before the test. It helped out a lot overall. By far the best professor @ GCC

I never give reviews, but I did promise I would give him one during one of our meetings. He's a great teacher and although he is strict, he is very caring and wants to see his students succeed. Loved his lectures and he's not just a cool teacher, but a great person. I strongly recommend having a good fundamental on Algebra before taking the class.

Professor Marsden is the best math professor (or teacher) I've ever taken. His teaching style is incredibly straight forward and the tests are EXACTLY what he teaches in class. This is the first time I've ever gotten an A in a math class, and it's CALC! Please do yourself the favor and take him while you still can. + he allows cheat sheets.. 10/10.
