Explains materials thouroughly and always makes sure no one is left behind. Each class begins with homework help if there are any questions, he always relates the lesson to the real world, and makes sure you know exactly what is on each exam. Ramirez is there to help and he makes it known so each student can take advantage of that opportunity.

Mr. Ramirez is an awesome teacher he tells you how you can use the math he teaches you in real life. Hes a great guy who trys to be funny. However he will work you alot and you need to go to class and do the homework if you want to pass! But on the plus he gives you the exam before you take it!

This is the second time I took Math 102. I failed the first time. I got an A in Ramirez's class. Hes clear about his explanations and he usually gives you a week before homework is do. He is extremely helpful and is always willing to stay after & help. For me math was super hard but I totally get it now.

Professor Ramirez is the bes instructor I've ever ha. He is incredibly helpful; obviously loves his job and helping students succeed. I struggled with math my entire academic career, and he completely changed that.

I took algebra for probably about 5 years of my life. I hated Math until Ramirez' class. He helps every type of learner and is truly enthusiastic about his subject. He's tech savvy and homework is done online. His online homework helps you learn as long as you don't cheat yourself. Now I enjoy math and considered making it my major.

Extremely helpful and consistent, you know exactly what's expected and how to be successful in his class from day one. I hadn't taken math for years before my 095 course and Ramirez made it a breeze.

He is very clear on how he teaches. Practices tests are just like the real thing, only different numbers. Very helpful and made class enjoyable. Got an A in the class because he updated the grade sheet every time we did something. It motivated me to do better. I do not like math or consider myself good at it. Liked his teaching style a lot.

Although it was a 5 week course, it was great and a little fast paced but he makes it easy to keep up. I would recommend take this professor over summer or during fall or spring. Ramirez is a great math instructor. The class is very well taught and if you have any questions he will help you step-by-step. We never used the book because he posts very detailed notes.I recommend you just buy the online access code because it comes with the online book! Overall a pretty easy class.

This teacher is awesome!! This class is so easy if you just do the online homework. He gives you practice test that mimic the actual test just different numbers. He makes the class fun and loves teaching. Wish I could take him for every math class.

Professor Ramirez is the best math instructor I ever took. He makes things extremely clear and easy to understand. I ended up with more than 89% in his class but he does not round up, therefore leaving me with a B. I'm excited to take him for Math 102 this fall. Again, fantastic instructor, take him! All of math teachers pale in comparison to him.

He's explains everything clearly. Great at teaching, but when it comes to tests, especially if you're really good at math, study definitions. There's one page of definitions that will dock you off so much if you skip them. If you just do the pages with doing math problems alone with definitions skipped, you will bomb the test. I promise you that.

Homework is online, due in packets. You don't need the textbook, just the online access code. Quizzes can be retaken until you're satisfied with your grade. Practice test is essentially the same as the actual test. He tries to make sure you understand and he tries to get people to speak up and participate. Show up, new material each lesson.

Professor Ramirez made basic algebra understandable for me. He's very patient with and helpful to students, and he doesn't treat them badly when they have questions. Visiting his office frequently helps a lot, as he'll answer any question you have for him about the class. He is very caring and kind, and will do anything he can to help you succeed.

I've taken Ramirez for 095 previously and loved his teaching style. I was pleased to see his techniques carried into 102. He's very clear when introducing chapters and provides extra credit and in class participation to boost your grade. You will know Algebra by the time you're through with his course!

Prof Ramirez was organized more than any other professor I've had. VERY clear cut. All content was posted on blackboard from the first day of class and he followed the syllabus to a T. Lots of math lab homework, participation and extra credit problems. Understands math like a damn robot. Can't go wrong with him.

My favorite professor of fall 2015! I always looked forward to his class, he tells you short personal stories that everyone loved hearing and somehow tied it to math. I've never seen math from such a clear point, he explains each concept in depth and attacks problems from different angles, which helped me view each concept as a better whole.

Dr. Ramirez is an amazing professor for math 095! Even if we only reviewed basic lessons from 090, I felt like I relearned everything in an easier and more clear way. You use mymathlab and not a textbook, so be sure to not procrastinate on hw. Practice tests/final are REALLY similar to the real thing! Put in effort and I'm sure you'll do great!

I took the linked class that goes into 102 so it was was faster than a normal 102 class. I loved this teacher! He really cares about his students! I got an A and I don't think I could have done it without his help! I highly recommend not skipping class though or being late because you never know when he will give out extra credit or participation

I am terrible at math. I failed math 90 twice. I decided to take a chance with Ramirez. He is by far the best math professor I've ever had. He does not only teach material, but prepares you for the tests. Gives complete sample tests and final. He posts all lecture notes on blackboard. I have just finished 95 and 102 with him without difficulty!

I was luckily able to take Professor Ramirez for all of my math courses. (Lucky in the respect that his classes fill up ridiculously fast--that's gotta tell you something). He makes the tedious act of math bearable and is willing to spend the time to help you understand the material. I highly recommend him.

I took Math 095. Im not good at math but he breaks everything down very clearly and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking qustions. He grades tests super fast which is very considerate. Our final grade could replace our lowest midterm so I love how he grades. MML homework but lots of time to do it. Laid back.

I am terrible at Math so I failed with a 67.7%. Even though that was the case, Professor Ramirez was one of the best Math teachers I've had. Even if the process of getting an answer was very thoroughly explained and it's right in front of you, he will go back and explain. The textbook can be bought for a short time and there is ALOT of homework.

Dr. Ramirez seemed to have very good lectures that were easy to follow. At the beginning of each lecture, he would ask if anyone needed help with homework questions and then take some time to go over those problems with everyone. Some of the homework, quizzes, and tests were tough, but with lots of studying and help, you can easily get an A.

I took Math 102 after being out of school for 7 years, and Prof Ramirez made it (almost) painless. His lectures are clear and concise and he is always willing to help with any questions. The homework is a bit heavy in my opinion, but in the end, it helps to complete it fully (on MyMathLab). I haven't enjoyed a math class like I have Prof Ramirez's.

There was a lot of homework, more than most of my math professors and teachers from the past. Besides the workload though, the class was really good, and I felt like I was actively learning. His grading criteria are very clear, and he is very fair. I recommend studying for all tests in his class though.

I'd like to say that I don't mind, however it feels like an insane invasion of privacy and it makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable having to not only record myself, but my entire personal space as well as my audio being recorded for the entirety of the exam... SUPER uncomfortable experience.

Just finished my semester and Dr. R was great! His weekly announcements helped keep me on track each week. The workload could be alot during some weeks so manage your time! No lecture, but he provides tons of resources to help with the topics. We use MyMathLab for everything so you do have the buy the prescription. We also use Honorlock for exams.

I took Dr. Ramirez for Fall 2024 and was genuinely sad when the class came to an end. He is one of the best professors I've ever had, and he made learning math interesting (and dare I say... fun). I wish he taught all of the upper level math classes like Calculus because I would take him again in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and take him!

Dr. Ramirez is such a wonderful professor. He cares so much about his students and it shows. While the course material is certainly no cakewalk, Dr R does everything he can to make sure students are following along. Homework heavy, which can get overwhelming if you aren't on top of it, but his syllabus is clear and he sends plenty of reminders.

Dr. Steven Ramirez helped me understand math. He is absolutely a "math person" and speaks it like breathing air. I wish the course was longer so he could teach me more. Be prepared to study a lot and use your brain. Thanks Dr. Ramirez, you're the best!

Class was so fun, personally not a math person but he made it so easy to understand. Gave so many opportunities for students to achieve and pass the class with high scores. I definitely would recommend to anyone looking to take his class.

Honestly the best math teacher I've had since middle school. Notes are provided which is amazing. Lectures are thorough and clear. He genuinley cares about his students and you can tell he wants you to succeed. He's also funny which helps! Lots of homework and material was difficult. Overall, if you show up and try you'll pass.
