This is a must for any education student. Mr. Saladino is fun, easygoing, and very understanding!!! I would take him for all my education classes!!
VERY cool and laid back. Made class fun and entertaining. I'd gladly take classes with him if he were at UNLV and I weren't almost done!
Great professor; always available and helpful. Really wants his students to succeed.
This was the funnest class. The projects were interesting and fun to do.
THIS PRO. ROCKS!
I wish I could take Mr. S. for every class! He's always available for questions and has real interest in his students. Assignments are straight forward - no trickery. The class is time consuming but lots of fun - a must for anyone thinking of becoming a teacher.
Great teacher
Online 8-week class. Gives weekly assignments and it's very easy to fall behind so keep on it. Requires a 5-pg term paper but most of the other assignments are straight-forward as long as you're proficient with MS office.
He is a wonderful instructor. Very patient and understanding. Just do the assisigments.
He's a good professor, and he is a fun professor. He's past experience as a teacher in k-12 makes him a good professor on this subject.
GREAT TEACHER i had so much fun in his class! Saladino teaches you so much and is very honest about what teaching really like. I loved the projects we did in class. You do have to teach the class as if they were grade schoolers for 15 minutes but it wasn't that bad =)
I took this class online with him. I had a lot of fun and he really tried to keep the class light and interesting. I highly recommend him. He is extremely helpful and well organized.
Best teacher I have taken at CCSN. Very fun and interesting class. I took an online 8 week course so it seems like a lot of work but if you at least try and turn something in you will ace the class. You really do learn a lot from this course. Highly suggest to take his courses.
Very easy coputer class. By far the easiest teacher I have taken
good but extremely difficult
This Prof was awesome! I would suggest that you take this class online because it was so easy! He's really easy going so I would really recommend him to anyone who needs to take this class.
Great Class, Wonderful Educator!
I took this class online. It was alot of work but not hard work. His WebCT pages completely explain what you need to do in detail so you are not confused. If you have a question he gets back to you almost immediately. I learned alot during his class. I would recommend him to anyone. Expect to do several assignments, they ar fun but mandatory.
Great professor, anyone going into elem education should take his class! He tells you the good and bad of the professon. Does not try to hide anything! Class took alot of work but was extremly helpful and alot of fun. Great class discussions. He is great take his class!
Awesome teacher. The class taught how to put technology into a classroom. Lot of work, but projects were fun to figure out.
I just graduated from CSN and I got to say that this was the BEST class I have taken at CSN. It's very interesting and lots of fun. I highly recommend you to take this class. :)
He has to be my favorite teacher ever! I had him when I was in 4th grade and was very surprised and happy to see him when I got to college. I highly highly recommend him. :]
He is an amazing teacher! There is a lot of work, but all pretty easy and FUN! His class has given me SOOOO many ideas for teaching! So far, his class has been the most educational, interesting, helpful, and FUN! :) TAKE HIM!! (My class was online, but I'm sure he is just as great in person!)
I took this class online and enjoyed it! He was so helpful and easy going teacher! If we needed help he would answer emails back right away. It was an easy and fun class to take online!
amazing professor !!! ive never missed a single class & not because i have to be there, because i WANT to be there. his class is sooooo much fun and you learn A LOT about teaching. he also greets you and talks to you when you come in the door :]]] im so sad for this class to end !!! if you take his class, you'll deff love it :D
Great class, projects are fun. The class is more like an art class than an education class.
He is amazing! I have so much fun. Hie work is interesting and tough at times. He really gets you involved and makes you want to leap into the profession. Overall one of the BEST teachers I've ever encountered.
A great teacher! Loved his class! He makes your work fun and interesting! You actually learn! I look forward in taking his edu 201 class!!!!!!!!!
Never missed a class and it meets for the schedule time. He is so knowlegable about the profession and really likes to teach the subject. Has to be the best class I took at CSN
took the 8 week course easy of you stick with the assignments. two due each week along with reading a chapter and a quiz.
Took this course online for the 8 week summer class. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PROFESSOR! He replies quickly, super clear on assignments, no midterm and the final is just another project. 2 small projects a week, discussion posts/replies weekly, and weekly quiz. I got a 99%! TAKE HIM!
Best professor i've ever had! Took his online class and his instructions were always very clear and responded to e-mails very fast! His class was a lot of work but it was very easy. he was definitely experienced and knew what he was talking about. His class has 2 projects 1 quiz and a post / week
I took his EDU 201 class online, and it was great. He was extremely organized and made it very clear what was expected. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher!
This is my first college class I have taken, and my first semester at CSN. He is a great teacher, makes the profession sound wonderful and exciting, and you can't wait to graduated to be a teacher also, he makes it so you want to change the world. If you love kids, want to be a teacher, and love a more hands on class I recommend his class.
2nd time he is my professor. He is absolutely amazing he loves his profession and i always willing to help he has lots of experience and definitely knows what he is talking about! He greets you every class and is my only professor that knows ppl by their names. I wish i could take all my EDU classes with him! Definitely take him!!!!!!! :D
This professor is awesome! If you are lazy you might find this class to be a lot of work as one of the previous comments did. If you think either his 214 or 201 class is too hard then you are obviously in the wrong profession. He is extremely clear on what is expected and the work is fun and extremely useful! Take this professor!!!!!
OMG!!! such an experienced proffessor he definitely knows what he is talking about and uses real examples it was the most unique experience! he makes you wanna be done and teach already! The work is not a lot when compared to what the profession requires! Amazing course always excited to go to his class! He should be teaching all education courses!
It was an enjoyable class. We actually learned things that we might use in teaching instead of just doing bookwork or essays.
Great class. Took the 8 week course, and had twice the amount of work to do each week, but all work was relatively easy. Definitely a teacher I would recommend.
Loved this class! I was very apprehensive when I first started, but this class turned out to be one of my favorite classes I have ever taken. Thanks Professor Saladino!! :)
He is an awesome teacher! Even through this online course you can tell how much he loves his job and how much he wants to pass on that passion and creative ideas to future teachers. Definitely a teacher to pick!
Professor Saladino really knows how to take his job seriously but with a light heart! I loved his class, but I have found that I am not as good at taking 8 week courses as I had hoped! If you have the time and motivation to take short online courses, this is the one for you! Funny and fun, I HIGHLY recommend Saladino!
Took this class online and loved it. Work is assigned on monday and due sunday, everything is on a weekly basis its easy to stay on track. I'd suggest taking this class.
The class I took was an 8 week online course. He posts the week's assignments on Monday and are due Sunday at midnight. Every week you would have: 2 computer projects, respond to his discussion post, respond to 3 student's posts, and take a quiz. It was a lot of work for the week, but was fairly easy to do if you're good with computers. I loved it!
Awesome teacher. Provided extremely clear directions with examples. Expectations were clear. Gave feedback on almost every assignment. Was very positive and kept in touch with his students each week.
Highly recommended!! I took his EDU 214 online & loved it! Heâ??s very helpful and there to answer & questions. Very precise on his instructions for the assignments & gives many examples. Gives practice test you could take as many times as needed & almost every question on the practice test is on the quiz. Easy A & learned a lot!
Wow this teacher is amazing.I first took him for Edu 201 and then Edu 214. He is so into his teaching and makes you want to be a better teacher. He gives you ideas and lets you come up with what you need to be a great teacher.Always available for questions and understands we all have lives and is willing to help within reason.I HIGHLY recommend him
4 week summer course, assignments out on Mon, due Sun. Follow the directions and no problems.Plenty of feedback throughout course, awesome teacher and great course. Learned a lot. Highly recommend!
Excellent teacher! Took his online edu 214 preparing teachers to use technology class and LOVED it. Learned a lot from this class
This class was awesome! I learned so much in four short weeks as I took this class in the summer session. Professor Steve really made me think outside the box when completing projects. The projects were fun and innovative. I highly recommend taking any course taught by Professor Steve.
BEST TEACHER!!!
This is a great introductory class and Mr. Saladino is a terrific professor. He is very clear with his expectations, grades promptly and fairly, and inspires you. I will definitely be taking him again.
Mr. Saladino is a fantastic teacher! The class is really easy as long as you keep up with the reading. Plus, the assignments were really fun. He is really understand and he is always there to help. He is constantly checking his email, so you can always get ahold of him. I will definitely take some of my other EDU classes with him.
Steve is an awesome teacher! I took the 8wk online class. It was challenging and fun. I learned so much and also learned to look at lessons with different eyes. An innovative and exciting teacher, he teaches you to use technology in new and fun ways any kid would love.
He is awesome! His 8 week course is busy, but I learned soo much! I am taking him for EDU 201 and I am looking forward to his teaching style again! He responds to any you have questions right away and gives clear detail on what he expects from his assignments. Must take! :)
Steve Saladino was a great teacher! I took his technology class online and had a blast, it was very fun YES FUN. A lot of the assignments were projects using technology and I learned a lot. Highly recommend him especially if your not great with technology.
This professor's teaching style is clear cut and straightforward. Assignments had the same timeline each week so there was no confusion as to when things were due or what was expected. Instructions were easy to understand and consistent. I wish all of my classes were as structured as this one. Great communication as well. Replies quickly.
Great teacher!
If you're serious about becoming a teacher, take Professor Saladino's class. There's quite a bit of work every week such as a short quiz, a discussion, responses to reading and research, and a portfolio project. Though it seems like it's a lot, it's incredibly manageable. Also 10 hours of school observation and community service is required.
Expectaions are clear and precise. Very organized. I would take all my EDU courses with him if possible! He is fair and does have high expectations for quality work . Finish all your projects, give effort and you will get an A or B.
Great Teacher! You work hard, and you will pass. He is always there for help. He gives examples to follow.
The class REQUIRES 10 volunteer hours and 10 student observation hours. I didn't have time for this, but had to make time so it was a pain. The class was easy, but, beware, he will not take late work no matter the circumstance. He takes forever to reply to emails and is never in his office even during office hours. NEVER MISS ANY ASSIGNMENTS!
Great teacher!!! He really tries to make everything fun & interesting for his students. I most definitely learned a thing or 2!! :) I took the 8 week course & WOAH! it was a lot for me considering I work full time, i'm a mom, & I was taking other classes. There was a quiz every week, along with a weekly discussion, & 2-3 weekly projects.
This class was so much fun and Mr. Saladino resonded almost immediately to any questions I had. I chnaged my idea of what technology instruction looks like in schools because of this class. Awesome teacher!
Professor Saladino is a good education professor. He gives you what he wants done, but sometimes, he isn't very clear, but he responds quickly when you email him, and will help. The quizzes are a bit weird considering some questions are not in the book so be prepared for that. I took him twice, so I obviously think he is good.
Oh my gosh. I took it online in a 4 week semester, thinking I am good at technology. It was an interesting class. Great teacher, very prepared. His instructions were super clear. 4-7 projects every week, 2 chapters reading, 1 quiz. PowerPoint, excel, word, website creation, research, etc. Tough class. In regular semester, it would be better.
I took this class online in 4 weeks. Every single day for the past 4 weeks I have been working on something for this class, but I loved it. He is such a great teacher and he writes you back right away. The assignments are time consuming and maybe it will be a lot easier during a full semester. tests are exactly like the practice test. I got an A!!
Although there are quite a few projects, all of them are beneficial and not just busy work. This was a condensed 4 week course and it is critical to stay on top of your work weekly. Professor Saladino is a fair grader and shares how to implement the projects given into a real life classroom. Have fun and don't procrastinate!!
Great class but only you have a lot of free time when your taking the 4 week. Fair graded as long as the assignment is completed correctly.A lot! of work in the 4 week take him in a regular semester time span and the class will be much easier. Fast grader!
This was the first time I had taken Professor Saladino and took him for 2 classes this Fall. It was definitely a great class! He is VERY well organized and helpful. If you email him with a question he is right on it. Just do all of your work to the best of your ability! Also, read your text book, and take the pre quizzes to the quiz for sure!
Best Professor I've had thus far. I took his 8 week course online and boy was there a lot of work but it was fun. You actually learn things that can be applied on a daily. Would recommend this Professor to anyone. His very clear on what he wants and what he expects. Follow instructions an you can get an A ;)
I ended up dropping only because it was a 4 week summer class and I had conflicts. I took this class in the fall after that summer with another professor & wish I had retaken with Saladino. If any are trying to decide between him and another professor for EDU 214, run from the other and take his. I highly recommend this choice.
Really good class! I would definitely take a class with him again!
It is an easy A as long as you do the assignments and read the material both of these are easy. The professor responded to my questions but beware he is very vague when responding to you. Overall every week you have a discussion, 3 question research assignment, 1 open book quiz, and a project. Specific instructions to follow and you will get an A.
I took this as a four week online course. Every week we had multiple projects, discussions, and chapter readings from the book. It is a lot of work but it's doable. If you follow the directions carefully and turn everything in on time you will do fine in the class. Steve is there for you every step of the way.
Best teacher I have ever taken. I took him for EDU 201. I also took him for EDU 214. He is a very easy grader. Follow instructions and you get an A. His instructions are very clear. He doesn't give a ton of work. He is funny and always helps you when you need help. I would take him for every class if I could. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Do not take this class during the summer or the shorter version during the semester... especially if you already have a full load of classes. He gives WAY TOO MUCH WORK and most of it is totally pointless.
He is one of the best! His class really helps you decide whether or not you want to pursue a degree in teaching. There is a lot of work, however, it's fun and has everything to do with education/teaching. You learn a lot during this class and each assignment teaches you something valuable. As long as you do the work, you'll get an A.
Saladino is wonderful! I took his 4 week EDU 214 online course. Intense, but a lot of fun. Content is not difficult, just tedious, and many projects. Each of the 4 weeks you can expect 4-5 lengthy projects, 2 quizzes and discussion posts. He truly cares about his student's careers as future educators. Do the work, do it properly, get an A.
Saladino is the best education professor, he cares about his students and will answer any question you may have in a timely matter. I would recommend to turn in all of your assignments on time and catch up with the readings. He does give a lot of work but its nothing that cant be accomplished.
He gives alot of work but its still manageable and not very difficult. Theres a project, quiz, discussion, and something similar to a quiz due every week. Hes very understanding and gets back to emails very quickly.
Classes were on Sundays with at least four things due. Nothing was hard just a bunch of busy work. The few times I had to contact him he usually replied within an hour.
This professor is a pro. You learn so many ideas for teaching computers and he responds to questions very fast.
I took his eight-week class and it was great! Prof. Saladino really cares about you learning new concepts and wants you to do well. There is reading every week, along with a quiz, a discussion board and three projects due by every Sunday. None of the projects were difficult and I found many to be fun and educational. I highly recommend his class.
He is a great and friendly professor. Very approachable. I took the eight week course, there was an average of three projects and a discussion per week. He is not a difficult grader so as long as you do the work you'll be fine.
Mr. Saladino was by far my favorite professor. He really loves his job and really cares about you passing. As long as you do your work, he gives out a discussion an open book quiz (which are easy if you read the chapter) a portfolio and a response to research and reading every week. His class is a really good class and I learned a lot.
Professor Saladino was by far my favorite professor at CSN. I took both his EDU 201 AND EDU 214 classes at the same time and he always insured he explained everything clearly so his students could understand. He is very easy to access always replies fast to emails. If you're looking for a professor and he is available I would highly recommend.
At first, it was overwhelming I took the 8-week class. Once I got in the groove of things it made the work worth it. learned a ton that I will use and remember in the future. Gave detailed clear instruction, he wants you to succeed and have fun doing it. I did the online book and it was more than sufficient since we didn't use the book much.
lol I always did his work last minute and still got a good grade. Sometimes I didn't even try but got full points. A textbook is needed but I never got one lol, I found the answer to quizzes online. I took his 8wk class, 3 mini projects a week with a discussion. Projects were fun too.
I took his 8 week course and it was TOUGH. The work itself wasn't especially difficult but the pace is quick with about 2 projects w/ reflection, 2 discussions w/ replies, and a reading w/ quiz every week. Probably wouldn't have been so intense as a regular course. Actually got a lot of good info from this class, just definitely had to work hard
I took the 4-week course and it was super intense. If you have more than 2 summer classes I would not recommend because the projects do require time. Throughout the course we were graded on 10 projects I believe and had a chapter quiz each week along with the discussions and replies. The projects weren't that hard but they were time consuming.
Professor Saladino is someone who loves what he does. I took his online 8 week course and it was definitely manageable, the most projects due in a week were 3. Response to weekly discussions and replies to 3 other people were required. The projects themselves were pretty fun and not super hard to figure out.
I will say he is the first professor I have had that is so excited about his job. I took the 8 week online and there was a lot of assignments. He does make every assignment fun and gives clear directions on how to accomplish each project. As long as you follow the instructions for the assignments and read the textbook, you will succeed.
2-3 PROJECTS A WEEK for this class and because i didn't have excel, microsoft word, powerpoint ( i have a macbook) i literally would stay on campus 2 days a week just to finish the projects. gotta read the 2 chapters a week and then a quiz as well. ITS DOABLE!!! trust me! get a planner, stay ahead and get it done !
There is a lot due every week. Multiple projects, discussion posts, and quizzes. It's not hard, you just have to make sure you are putting effort in to this class everyday.
DO NOT take this as a summer class if you don't have an open schedule. He condenses all projects for the 16wk course into 4 wks but as long as you did the work and met the parameters this class is super easy.
Professor Saladino was great! I learned a lot of great information. He is clear on what he expects from assignments. Usually had 1 discussion w/ 3 replies, 2 quizzes, 1 project, and a chapter of reading. Also, 10 mandatory hours of field observation that is pass/fail. I recommend you take him! He has fun and educational assignments!!
You can tell he cares a lot about what he's teaching. Even if you've never done a slide show or excel spreadsheet in your life, he makes it simple to learn and actually quite fun as well. His assignments are purely based off of creativity and effort, so set aside an hour for each and you'll get full marks.
LOVE LOVE LOVE This teacher both passionate and Inspiring and fun. Everything in the class is predictable. He gives you a week's worth of hw to do on Monday but you have until Sunday to complete everything. He is fair and teaches valuable information. he truly cares about his students. As long as you put in the work and effort you'll be fine!
You can tell that Mr. Saladino cares about teaching & his students. I had a 8wk class with him, & while there was a lot crammed into those weeks, they didn't feel stressful or difficult. He finds creative ways to teach you & his assignments are actually fun to do. He kept great communication & provided insightful links to videos & articles.
Professor Saladino is amazing. I enjoyed taking his class. .Each week you have to read a chapter, discussion post with responses, an assignment based on the chapter you read, and a quiz. If you read the book it is an Easy A. Do the work follow the instructions and you will pass the class.
I just finished my 8 week class with him, & while there was somewhat a lot of work it was manageable, I didn't feel stressed out or feel like it was difficult. Professor Saladinos assignments are actually fun work to do! Each week you read a chapter, have a discussion post+ responses, an assignment, and a chapter quiz. Easy A if you do the work!
I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone. "Class meant to prepare teachers to use technology" it was horrid. He had us digitally disfigure a picture of him it had nothing to do with our class. The late policy is set for three days with loss of credit yet assignments close exactly on the deadline, when emailed he said there's nothing he can do.
Professor Saladino has been one of my favorite professors. I had a problem with another professor regarding an assignment I needed to pass my class, and professor Saladino made sure to help me as fast as he could. His class was really easy and he is always trying to help in any way possible. Im definitely taking another class with him.
Professor Saladino is amazing. It's an easy class but you need to put in work. Each week there's a module of four assignments. A quiz, a reading a research quiz, a discussion post, and a portfolio project. The portfolio projects can be a pain because they're time consuming but they're not hard. You also need to observe a CCSD school for 10 hours.
It doesn't get much better than Professor Saladino. Before this class I wasn't very tech savvy at all, now I'm more confident in my tech skill set than ever. I would 10/10 recommend this class for any aspiring teacher. He's kind, funny, intelligent and patient with students. Also a very clear and easy grader.
Professor Saladino is so amazing. I took an online 16 week course, and he gives 4 assignments for each week. It's an easy class, all we had to do is put in the good effort. Each week we have a quiz for each chapter, portfolio project, reading quiz, and a discussion. Also you have to do a 10 field observation in CCSD for the requirement
He is a great professor. His communication skills are on point. He does a weekly discussion, short quiz, and then a "reading quiz" that is basically a quiz where you answer yourself instead of multiple choice. Also has a portfolio project assignment due every week which is more intimidating than it sounds. A few power points, a couple excel charts.
I have taken a few of Professors Saladino's courses and I must say he is well-prepared, organized and kind, and he creates a welcoming online environment. I am grateful to have taken his lecture. I 10/10 recommend taking him for your EDU courses.
I would recommend prof Saladino, this class was super easy. Some of the assignments were a bit confusing but that was on me. There are quizzes which are super easy, theres a textbook you have to pay for but I didnt use it kind of a waste of money (use quizlet) but overall I would take this class again. No complaints.
I really enjoyed this class! I took the shorter classes 8 weeks and loved it. Projects were due weekly but they were very doable with my busy work schedule and other classes! Very nice and fun teacher!
Super easy class. I love taking both his online classes EDU 201 and EDU 214. EDU 201 there is one project, a chapter quiz, discussion, plus a 10 hour field observation at CCSD school. EDU 214, there are 2-3 projects for one week, a discussion and quiz. He is very nice teacher. I recommend for all of you take this professor.
I took the 8 week course and have 2-3 projects every week. He makes you do projects that'll help you have a better understanding of technology or will just be fun. I liked this class overall but the projects do take a long time. I wouldn't buy the book because his quizzes are on quiz-let or online-save your money.
Best professor ever, his projects are really fun!
This class was the most enjoyable I've taken yet! HIGHLY recommend this professor. I took the 8 week summer course, so there were A LOT of weekly projects. Each one was fun to complete. Just make sure you spread out the assignments & give yourself time to complete 1 at a time. Most assignments require a 1pg reflection, but he provides the template.
Amazing professor! He gave about 4 assignments per week including 1 project, a discussion post, and 2 quizzes. One of the quizzes is based on the textbook. It took some time getting used to but I got a hang of the work quickly! He also lays out his requirements for each assignment well so you always know what's expected. Would take his class again!
This class was amazing. Each week, you're assigned two quizzes, a project, and a discussion post. The quizzes are super easy, the projects are pretty fun and don't take too long, and the discussion posts are really engaging. If you ever need assistance, responses are quick. I finished the class with a 100%. I highly recommend this class!
Very understanding and lays out his expectations for the class clearly.
Great professor. Was very engaged with communications despite this being an online summer class. There was a substantial amount of work, but it was not overwhelming, and his grading is seemingly generous. Would definitely recommend him
Steve Saladino was perfect for this class. He taught material clearly so you did not asked a many questions as the other Professors. It was a job to have him teaching us.
Professor Saladino's EDU214 class is a real gem! The projects are engaging and fun, and unstuck ai was a lifesaver for test prep. While the weekly workload can be heavy, it's totally manageable if you stay organized. Highly recommend this class!
Prof. Saladino's 8 week class had lot's of work but all of it was easy and fun. Pretty much all the assignments were creative projects, 2 per week typically. There is a textbook but I don't recall ever using it, so maybe just ask peers for pics of the pages if you do need it. Btw don't procrastinate the final lesson plan, its really long!!!
10/10. I would take this class a thousand times with the same professor. He is kind, clear, concise, and very professional, but still enjoyable. Prof. Saladino is the kind of education teacher who leaves a lasting impact on your knowledge. Everything is explained in detail, and his feedback is very helpful. WOULD RECOMMEND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
If you're very tech savvy, then this class is as easy as 123, lots of creative and fun projects, super helpful, doesn't ask for a whole lot, and you'll come away thankful and having learned a bit more about technology in the classroom and how to use it effectively.
