Overall good teacher. Tests are very hard.At least 100 questions w/ crossword puzzle.Helpful in labs.If you work really hard you should pass.

he's a GREAT teacher, will keep you interested in class lectures with his sense of humor! he's helpful if you are willing to try. his tests are VERY difficult though i must say! most the questions are concepts!! you can't just memorize stuff.

Very hard but I got a B. I was in his office asking for help at least once a week. The labs really help out your average. He is nice and tries to be funny which eases the tension. I liked him and I thought he was a great teacher.

bio 1a,1b are hard classes, but teh is a good teacher and he'll make the class fun. tests r pretty hard, but he'll help u out if u need it.

Steve is a class act! His teaching style is energetic/humorous. I have never felt as comfortable in an office as his. Get in & talk to him!! Tests are hard, so you need to know your stuff!! If you can help it, get into his Lab!! The other one is harder!!

He is a great teacher, really smart, really fun, and really hard if you don't study! Use the C.D lots of quiz Q's on there and some exam Q's on the C.D. If you can try to answer the study guides he gives you are set for a good grade!

Took Teh and laughed my a** off - cutest guy ever - looks like a little mouse. Great class but I goofed off so I didn't get an A. Just do your work and go to class and you'll do great!

Steve is without a doubt the best teacher I have ever had. His humor makes bio enjoyable and he is willing to stay after class to help you out. His tests are really hard but you just have to study a lot. Show him that you're there to learn!

Hardest I ever worked for a grade; very fast pace. But very effective format, clear outlines, fun, humorous style.

Professor Teh is extremely dedicated to students. The Bio major course is difficult! Teh is hard on his 3A students in the beggining but, he lightens up. The 3B course is more difficult. Study for the Lab Practicals! Come to class prepared.

I would recommend Teh, but for our class it was a little too unstructured, these classes are relatively new so all of the teachers are still trying to figure out their teaching format. He's very helpful though, and approachable.

steve is a good teacher because he makes you work for your grade, however he has favorites and its not fair to see your fellow classmates get higher test grades on certain subjective questions because of brownie points

I have never worked hard like this to get good grade.Once you understand the way he teaches you will learn a lot.I took bio since highschool but it is nothing. Sometimes, he has favourites. be prepare(I know that really sucks, it's life, honey!!

I have never taken a bio class before and i am doing quite well.This is not an easy class you need to understand applications,there are study guides and lecture outlines all you need to do is make the effort to print them.He is definately not boreing.

Steve is by far the best teacher at Saddleback. He explains all complicated topics. Very cool guy when it comes to him personally explaining something to his students. I got an A in his class and its all thanks to his teaching ability.

Great class. I thought this would be a horrible class but Steve is awesome. I have never laughed so hard in a biology class. He is one of the best teachers I've had at Saddleback. I would definitely recommend him to anybody. Don't get on his bad side though. Sit up front so he knows you. Great class

Since I failed bio in HS, steve teh was recommended to me by a friend who had had him, and he is one of the best bio teachers i have come across. He teaches you things you will need for future semesters if you have a science major. Very helpful

I'm not a natural at the sciences, so I had to work hard. But I don't regret working hard for good grades with an awesome teacher! You need to learn from your mistakes. Not keep making the same ones. 1 of my fave teachers. Learned a tremendous amount and really learned how to study.

This class was very enjoyable. I was hard but yet fun. Pay attention and dot he extra credit and you should be fine with a b or better.

1 word AWESOME!! He is so cool and funny! I actually enjoyed his class. You have to try extremely hard to FAIL! I had a B average and was so close to a A after the final I got a A. Plus, If u have a A coming into the final u don't even have to take the final! Not to mention the final Super EASY!

I had no idea that I could actually be interested in Biology. He lectures are really entertaining. He gives you study guides for every test and quiz so you know everything that will be on them. But they are hard so be sure to study. He is also generous when grading. Take his class!

He's a really cool guy. Easy tests if you pay attention in the class. Very helpful. One 2-page paper. 6 exams. Final is comprehensive but pretty easy. He seems to like the people who sit in the front rows, but that might be because we talk a lot in the back!!! :P

Teh is an awesome Prof. Anyone who says otherwise, must have been sucky students. He's a ton of fun, and extremely helpful.

Hard class but you can learn alot. Mr. Teh likes to talk about food even when your disecting a dead rat. Bio 3A has more busy work while 3B is tougher due to lab practicles. Funny guy, very nice.

Steve rules school. The summer class was so enjoyable with minimum amount of work that he told us not to tell anyone that we loved it. I got an A... i love you steve.

This man is soooo nice and he always cracks jokes on having little amounts of body hair because he's Asian! I don't like Biology at all but if you're like me and you mst take the class... take the lecture with him and the lab with Dr. Sanchez!

If he wasn't a biology professor he would make a great stand up comedian. Also one of the smartest man I know.

Deffinitly one of the BEST instructors at Saddleback. He really makes Bio fun and interesting. I had not taken Bio since high school and I got an A in his class. He really helped me prepare for Anatomy and I also got an A thanks to Teh.

This was first Bio class I took at Saddleback. GIves study guides, practice exams, and extra credit. Has office hours. Really goes out of his way to help his students, and keeps subjects interesting. Take Tanimura for lab.

Teaches with a sense of humor! Lectures are clear and he gives helpful "gouges" to help people remember the material. Very available for help outside class. Knows the material well. I highly recommend this professor to ANYONE taking Bio 20.

I had a blast in his class, it was the 6 week summer course and it went quickly. He is funny and easy going. During the summer he goes through the lab stuff quickly and his lectures are easy fill in the blank. He also gave us study guides for the test and he stuck to if for the test. Good luck!

Fun, 5'3" Asian, with a great sense of humor. 2-3 take home quizzes, 3 exams, 1 final. Gives EC. If you have an A up to the final, you may not have to take it. Must study, subject isn't easy. Explains in detail, if you have any questions, he will be happy to explain again (more than once!). Great guy, loves interaction with students. **TAKE HIM!**

best bio teacher ever!

He's a good teacher and a good man. He makes biology as comprehensible as possible by using examples everyone can understand...I mean he uses very plain language to describe bodily functions. Older students may take offense. You need a good sense of humor to take this class.

Best teacher I have ever had! Yes his class is hard, but it's Bio 3A. This class in general is hard. I loved his class and have a great understanding of Biology now. He even stayed two hours after class to study with my study group before the test. He knows his stuff and truely wants you to get it. Ask questions!

STEVE TEH! what more can i say? professor of the year for 06-07, and it shows! very fun class and i learned ALOT about biology, even for an intro course. he is a really great guy and has the funniest analogies to relate to the text. there is really never a dull moment in class. YOU ROCK STEVE!

Great professor!! Subject matter is easy to understand because of his explanations. Four exams, but he drops the lowest score. If student has an A going into the final, they will not need to take the final. Be sure to take the lab with him as well.

Teh is one of the best teachers Ive had. He's super helpful and help you out as much as you need. Make sure you go to all the classes and do all the labs. Test are a little hard but read the chapters. He's super fun and the class is awesome!

Compares almost everything to life situations that everyone can relate to. Has fun & makes lots of jokes, enjoyable class. Gives clear study guides for every test. Reviews before every test & quiz (very helpful). Occasional 10-15q quizzes in lecture (easy), 10-15q quiz (easy) almost every lab. Only homework is labs and one 2-page article critique.

Yup. Don't read any further - if the class is still available TAKE IT. Teh is awsome. No where, ever, will you be able to find a Biology teacher with the same amount of humor (real, not cheesy) and helpfulness that Teh contains! I got an A because I COULD NOT NOT LISTEN! And he reviews everything before we are tested on it. TAKE THE CLASS.

I was lucky to have him for Bio 3A but I was SUPER lucky to have him for Bio3B. He is a really nice guy. Ask all the questions you have. Go to lecture AND lab ALL the time, it'll help you out ALOT. Read too cuz sometimes he doesnt go over everything during the lectures. Just have fun

This teacher is absolutely amazing. I had no interest in biology, and in fact had failed the class once before. Teh made it interesting, and applied the concepts to real life situations. He genuinely cares about his students, and doesnt want anyone to fail. If you are having any doubt about this teacher, dont. Take him!

Good teacher, he wasn't prof of the year for nothing! Take his lab, his students do better overall. Tests aren't exactly easy, but just study some. You don't have to take the final if you do well on teh other tests. Labs are pretty easy. He's funny and interacts with the class. He also learned everyone's names! No dissections. Steve Teh is one of those professors you'll never forget. I took Bio 20 to fulfill a requirement, now I'm a Bio major transferring to Berkeley. Bio 20 was relatively easy, however, you must study; it is biology! Bio 3A was more challenging, but he engages his students and makes learning fun. Makes ppl laugh all the time! Take him, he's amazing!!!

He's awesome and he cares about his students. I would have never thought studying BIOLOGY would be interesting and fun. His tests aren't easy but he's always there to help out.

He's very sweet, funny, and laid-back. He makes lectures and labs nothing to worry about.He grades fairly, too. He is a great professor overall.However, there is a huge amount of workload in this class that may seem discouraging. But, given the effort, he will see through that and award you with the grade you deserve for your efforts.

BEST BIO TEACHER! He makes lecture fun/funny/interesting and uses real life examples/stories. Gives out accurate study guide prior to exams. Majority of time, got out of lab class about an hour early. Everyone at a lab table just switches notes/observations & makes it easy. Just study before exam and do all the labs & you'll get an A.

Teh's class is extremely easy and fun in a lecture hall. We do notes, he makes a lot of analogies to the material and simplifies everything with jokes. We only got 9 chapters done instead of the 13 so the final easy. he drops your lowest test grade and tests are curved and have answers like" Hm...this class is horrible!" Take this class!

Great class. Exams are based on everything talked about so it's best if you attend. And as long as you review your notes you should do well. He keeps everything interesting and relatable. He's super funny!

If you put in just a little bit of work, you can easily get an A. I think having taken chemistry classes before this had a lot to do with my success. He goes off-topic a LOT, but he's entertaining. You don't have to come to class, but it helps. I would recommend him:)

Is an extremely good proffesor, and I wished that I had taken him for lab too cause I would have gotten a better grade. Makes the subject very understandable and wants everyone to do well and will take the time to make sure that happens.

Easy going professor. He'll try to keep understanding biology as fun as possible. In the end, you still have to know the materials. Lots of lazy pre-meds are taking this class, don't get behind.. Trust me, it's not easy to get an F in this class..

Loved this class, it was actually very time consuming and should have probably given 3 for easiness, but you end up spending so much time in labs that you learn lecture material during lab. Very helpful, great teacher.

Professor Teh is an amazing teacher! he gives you study guides for all the tests and teaches by his notes! had his for lab with only 10 point quizes each week, no lab tests at all! the book helps to clarify some things! attendance isnt mandatory, he checks somtimes but if you dont show up than all you are doing is missing out on notes. Loved him! This was my first bio class and I got an "A" no problem. He makes class entertaining but moves quickly! Going isnt mandatory but everything is mainly off of lecture notes and he just uses the book as a "back up refrence" all quizzes are take home, which is always nice! Take him!!

Sensei Teh is absolutely the best professor ever!!! The material is tough, but if you put in the work, its no problem at all. Teh makes sure you're always on track, and hes so hilarious during class that it's always a fun lecture! BEST. PROFESSOR. EVER!!

This is hands down one of the best professors at Saddleback College. I have NO interest in Bio but I actually looked forward going to this class. Yes, it is college and you have to study to get an A, but isn't that the entire point? This is no doubt the best Bio class in Southern California. SO TAKE HIM ALREADY.

4 Exams and lab practicals. Helps to read the book chapters. Fairly straightforward and doable. But lab practicals are a lot harder. Really helpful and opens labs on weekends. Bad with email. Nice and easygoing. Much more flexible than Huntley with research project. Learned a lot with a sense of humor. No quizzes. Work hard for A. One of the best.

Although bio. is already interesting, Teh managed to make it even more so! Excellent teacher, class is actually enjoyable. Like any other any other bio. class, this is a lot of work, but an 'A' is VERY easy if you study hard, do all the assnmnts (lab & lect), and go to class!

Lecture: Attendance mandatory, about 6 lect. quizzes (take-home), 1 short article critique (2 pgs), 4 exams (lowest is dropped), 1 final. Extra credit-YES. + Lab: Weekly lab, weekly quiz, lab final. Don't let this work load scare you, ALL Bio classes are like this! Teh is a great professor & makes an "A" VERY doable!

He is AWESOME! I am currently taking him, and i was having hard time keeping up with my classes, but this guy made bio so easy! and plus he's the most helpful teacher ive ever had in saddleback! he replies to email with an hour which is a blessing! if i ever have to take bio again ill definitely come back to Steve! cool guy

You have to listen a lot though the exams are really hard basically it's a really hard bio class and if this is going to be your first bio class you're not gonna get an A but I took bio 20 before this class which helped a lot. DEFINITELY tape his voice during lecture and listen again at home and take really good notes

Great professor. Took him during the summer & got an easy a. Study & do the work & you'll do great. Many multiple choice lab quizzes but if you go to lab its easy. Super friendly & funny during lectures & offers extra help when you need it. By far the best professor at saddleback. Don't be late for his class or you'll have to buy doughnuts

Steve is AWESOME. He is very interested in this subject and he tells jokes about how his wife is a nurse and she encounters gross and funny situations. He is very helpful and prompt with his emails. He explains things very clearly and if you still don't understand he is glad to help. This class was the best/most fun class I have ever had.

Professor Teh is the best teacher I have ever had, he teaches with bringing real life examples and you will absolutely love Biology if you takes his bio3b class. Lab practicals are challenging but don't forget to record everything and study a lot for practicals, I did and ended with all A+ one word he is amazing, nice and care to students a lot.

Bio 3B is probably one of the hardest classes in Saddleback but professor Teh was so clear and helpful about it. Also the lab practicals are so hard you have to put time and effort for this class

Professor Teh is great at what he does! I took his 6 week course during the summer and wish it was a longer class! His classes are never boring, he always incorporates stuff that tie in with what he's teaching. Such a great professor, highly recommend him. Easy tests, lab, and quizzes.

Professor Teh is one of the best Biology teacher I ever seen. He is really helpful, clear and knowledgeable. Biology 3B is really hard course, it need hours studying. There is points for exams, lab practicals, and research assignments. STUDY EVERYDAY ! He is always there to help you, ask him for any questions. He is absolute amazing teacher.

First of all he is a wonderful person. Take notes in the lecture and work hard. Beside the exams and project, there are lots of work to do in this class which if you spend time on them, they pump up your grade. It is a little hard to find him but generally he is great. I highly recommend him.

Professor teh is definitely a legend at saddleback. You can tell hes very well likes by everyone there no doubt because of his humor. He treats all his students with respect and even when he pokes fun at you is never disrespectful. Bio 20 in general is a very difficult class but having teh makes the load much more feasible. throws a potluck too.

I really enjoyed having Prof Teh for Lab. He's smart, funny, and has clear grading criteria. If you have questions, just ask him and he'll help you. Gives extra credit opportunities and if the class does well he may have a protein denature final for you (cooking, potluck) which is by far the best final I've ever had. GREAT teacher. Makes class interesting. Practicals were tougher than exam. Multiple choice tests w short answers but he will tell you what to look for. Labs aren't bad but attendance is must. Words cannot describe how incredible Professor Teh truly is. Never have I learned, laughed, or looked forward to any class as much as I have 3A&B. His immense care for his students is obvious and he doesn't try to be tricky, he tests on what he lectures. Teh is pretty awesome. If you've ever seen the show Dexter, he's just like Vince Masuka. It's a pretty easy class though and BIO 30 doesn't have any labs which is nice. Pay attention, take notes, and you'll do fine. His class does use Connect so its like a $200 required textbook. If you have an A by the final, you don't have to take it.

Hilarious, easy to listen to and relates as many topics with real life situations as possible. He does tell a lot of stories about his life (especially biking) but in a very fun and educational way. Really enjoyed his class and was easy.

One of the best bio professors I have had thus far in my career. He's a no-nonsense guy, but at the same time a really laid-back and cool person. Better yet, he doesn't trick anyone on lecture exams and practicals (a huge help). He could be wishy washy on directions though. Steve makes this class very fun, and has been understanding of my chronic illness, which I greatly appreciate. The labs aren't too hard and tend not to last the whole class period, but you learn what you need to. Would recommend.

Professor Teh is a legend. He gives excellent and fun lectures. Be sure to take notes in class and anything he writes on the board as well. The labs arent a pain and if finished early you are good to go. Few quizzes are given and exams are multiple choice with a few free response questions that are from the notes. BEST Professor I've met. After years being out of school, I was some what nervous to take a Science class but Prof. Teh has been extremely understanding, compassionate and makes you feel comfortable. He's so full of energy which helps during his lectures and uses crazy funny analogy's to help you better understand/remember stuff. I'll miss him!

When I first read all these reviews about how great of a teacher Professor Teh was I thought there's no way he's that good. But he is. His class has 5 exams in total, lab's are fun and somewhat easy, and he drops your lowest test grade. He teaches biology in a way that truly makes it interesting and easy to comprehend. Let me just start by saying I did not take this class for fun. However, Teh made it so bearable! I took this course over the summer, and it was the smartest decision ever. Steve is by far the most amazing professor I have had after being a Saddleback student for two years. Although I'm taking this class online because of the COVID pandemic, he still does his best to read everything and help his students as much as possible online. He provides extra credit on his exams which is really nice. I 110% would recommend him.

I took Steve Teh for Fall 2020, everything was online. He is very informative in his lectures and makes things fun. He gives great feedback on homework and discussion posts. Class is optional, only used as "office hours" in case you have any questions. He is also available outside of class if you need it. Email him anytime as well!

Prof Teh is the best! During covid he taught bio (lecture and lab) online and he did an amazing job!! He wants every student to succeed. Go to his online office hours and ask him any question: he's there to help. Lots of exams, but he drops the lowest score, and one project at the end. Do the work and you will get a good grade.

The guy is a literal gem. He stayed up with the majority of the students, I got a B in his class only out of laziness because of COVID and whatnot. View his lectures, and do his assignments as it reinforces what he teaches, and his exams are based on lectures.

Took this class for Spring 2021 (full term). EASIEST BIO20 YOU COULD EVER GET. 1 lab every week, 1 discussion board every week (mostly 8-10 minutes ted talk, no min. words but at least 2 replies), 1-2 quizzes every week and also easy. Prof Teh is very accessible and gives feedback for exams and quizzes. He's funny and makes a lot of jokes.

Prof. Teh is one of those people where it's very obvious they know a lot, you just have to ask a lot of questions to extract that info. Lecture videos & directions on assignments can get confusing, but he clears it up during office hours if you ask. Really chill, easy to approach. I cannot emphasize how important it is to listen to his lectures.

I took mr. Teh for BIO20 online summer class and he is the best bio teacher ive had. I passed with a 90% and i suck at science. Obviously you have to do your part and submit your homework but he is lenient on late assignments and grading. His lectures are intersting and ws/exams are based off of lectures and study guides. It would be a mistake not to take professor Teh. He makes lectures and labs incredibly funny, and is always eager to help you. The labs are engaging, however his online lectures are very long. Professor Teh also does a great job at making the more difficult concepts easy to understand.

I believe that all classes taken during summer semester is hard. It will take so much effort and time for a student to pass. I took Bio20 in summer and was not easy at all. Steve's demeanor is pretty cool, and professional. The curriculum is a real heavyweight, and he is making it feel like a real cram session sometimes, if you stay on top of things and avoid procrastination, you'll navigate it alright. Teh is offering extra credits and being accessible when needed, the online materials provided aren't top-notch.

I was never a science person but MAN I have never learned so much with such ease in a class ever. Teh was SO funny and made the material so easy to understand. Professor Teh is really chill and makes a lot of jokes in class. His class was easy to get an A if you pay attention and do the assignments. He is very generous with the grades for labs (I got full points on all of them when I definitely shouldn't have). Took this class in summer online, great experience. Lectures are reasonable, plus assignments help prepare you for weekly quizes. Haven't taken a bio class in 5 years but I did not find this class difficult because of his level of detail in lectures. Will be taking him again for future bio classes.

You'll regret not taking him, I enjoyed this class so much I'd consider taking another one of his classes just for fun. He makes the material both easy and interesting to learn, and we went out for a few fun field trips that tied in everything we learned from lectures.

Bio 4B doesn't have big chapter exams. Instead he uses smaller exams to quiz on lecture material. You will have around 4 lab practical exams. These aren't hard, just take pictures of the slides, organisms, and label them. Go over the lab practical exam material and you'll be fine. Explained what was on the test and explained the material well.

Prof. Teh is an all around amazing man. He is hilarious and very caring to his students. Class is easy if you put in just a little effort. He understands that many STEM students are taking other difficult classes, and tries to make the class as streamlined as possible to allow for little stress. Most easygoing teacher here and an absolute legend.

Teh is the best teacher/professor I have ever had. He makes biology so fun to learn and cracked the funniest jokes every class. He also is the only professor to offer field trip opportunities. If you take him please be respectful, I know that people have been taking advantage of his chill behavior recently which ruins the class for everyone.
