I came to this class after dropping it the previous semster with an awful teacher at Grossmont. Mr. Weinert made this information so much more clear and actually interesting. It's a 3 hour class once a week and there are seldom times I feel myself look at the clock wishing it to be over.

weinert is a great guy... he is an entertaining professor and his lectures are fun to sit through.... the only thing that got me is you have to read the book to do well on the quizzes and exams and not just go by his lectures.

Great class. Very good teacher. Always available to help and great at email responses. The three hours class did NOT drag by, which is always a big plus. Weekly quizzes were helpful - open book, plus three tests made up the grade. Extra credit available. Lecture doesn't always exactly go along with test, but very close. RECOMMENDED.

Intersession Class. Tests are moderately difficult, mostly from the book and a little from lecture. Steve jokes around a lot, and made the class interesting. For the tests: if every question looks OK but you're not sure, use the longest answer. It's usually right!

He's a great teacher! The tests are a little tricky...but you'll def. pay attention to him! He's funny and uses really good real life examples. Use the study guide b/c alot of the test content and questions come from questions the author of the textbook writes.

Very funny. Easy to pay attention to, although tests are based on the book, not necessarily the lectures. Physio isn't as easy as intro.. you'll use the book a lot more and will find a study group to be more than a waste of time and coffee.

Steve was very helpful and lectured this class the best he could. But if you don't think like him, you will have a difficult time understanding the concept of statistics. I've never had a class that I actually looked forward to going to before. His classes are interesting and funny, and hes not bad on the eyes either.... His tests are pretty hard, and you really need to read the book to pass, so if you're not a reader, don't take this class. Otherwise, you'll do great and learn a lot.

Steve is great teacher. You will have a lot of fun in his class. However, his class to too hard to get an "A". You have to read the text book before and after every class. His tests are so hard that some students can not pass it. If you are an active studesnt, dont hesitate.

He is a great teacher. He uses his life experience to explain the theories. Thus, if you want to get an "A", you have to read the book and notes before and after the class, and you have to know how to use those theories into your life.

Physio-Psyc was hard,but Weinert knows that and did a great job encouraging everyone.He grades on a curve and gives good advice on how to get better grades.I ended up doing well because of the curve and his suggestions.I'm older and if I can get a good grade,ANYONE can.Weinert is easy going,and does a great job of keeping the subject interesting.

Mr. Weinert is the coolest teacher i've ever taken. He is a big kid with lots jokes. The class is really easy. He grades on a curve with exams and all the info comes straight from the book. He does not take role so you can go to class when you want. if you miss an exam he will let you make it up in his office. He is such a great teacher!

This rating is for a WINTER INTERSESSION COURSE!! Do not base my review of his class on a semester basis. If you take his Psy 120 class for intersession it is EXTREMELY hard just because of the amount of material. I aced it, but I'm not normal lol. He is a really good teacher and I highly recommend him for a full semester class. Good teacher!

Tests are fairly easy if you pay attention during lecture (IE: Take notes and listen to his examples!) and at least skim over the vocabulary terms from the book. There are guided notes he has for you use and I suggest you use them! It's very helpful on the tests. Minimal writing in this class also, which is nice. He makes class very fun and easy.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!! he was such an amazing teacher. so caring and a good grader. he always has time to help and is very good at giving lectures because he is actually interesting!!! this was the only class that i didn't want to end!

Very interesting class and very interesting professor, he keeps you awake and interested every time you show up to his class. He curves all of his tests which can be easily studied for by using the modules he leaves online on blackboard and using your class notes to narrow down what you need out of each module. I definitely recommend him!

His class is really fun and if you attend it you will definitely realize that. He is very easygoing and gives you many opportunities to turn things in. Since it was flu season, he gave us opportunities to replace our lowest test score. If youre going to take psych, take it with him at cuyamaca.

He's a funny guy who likes to talk. His lectures are entertaining and full of jokes, some are a bit immature though. Weinert is a great teacher that keeps his class involved. If you want a laid back and comfortable class setting I highly recommend this class. All of his slide lectures are available online, and additionally each lecture is recorded and available to listen to. His examples are tied in completely with the world around you, just as psych should be.

I've had Weinert for a few different classes, Physi is difficult, but the way Weinert teaches is very cool. He is helpful, answers questions, and very friendly. I always enjoy his classes.

3 exams-100pts ea. 14 chapter quizzes on blackboard - 10pts ea. Comprehensive final-100pts. I advise you to read the assigned chapters before lecture that way you'll understand the terms. So yes, rent the book. He teaches by concept rather than definition alone. He gives out study guides for the midterms. Overall, he's an awesome, goofy instructor!

Amazing College Instructor! Wouldn't wanna miss a day without his lectures! Mr. Weinert knows how to make the course not just excellent through teaching, but definitely also a very fun class to be in. This guy is awesome! He makes everything super interesting and has such a unique spin on the class content. The class basically consists of some in-class activities which are usually an automatic 1010 points for just attending, several online quizzes that prepare you for tests anyways, plus the tests themselves, which are always graded on a curve.

This teacher is a great psychology professor and I would take another class with Weinert again. He wants you to learn not like other professors who just throw crap at you and expect you to learn but Weinert does everything he could to teach you what you need to learn to pass and will stay after and make sure you learn, Take any of his classes!!!

The quizzes count for a lot of your grade. Do quizzes with partner to obtain 100%. I missed more than half of the classes and was able to study the quizzes and get an A in the class.

Steve is a great professor, I hated missing his class because it was the highlight of my day. Material is extremely interesting, shows tons of videos to relate the material. It is not common to come across teachers as genuine as Weinert. I literally never wanted to miss class because of how enjoyable he made it. He is funny and will make the information easy to remember. The online course included a free online textbook. Because of the short Summer session, it felt like there were a ton of assignments, but most are short, and he is easy on the grading. Quizzes are simple and short, and not worth many points, so no sweat. He's personable and kind, and very responsive to email. 100% recommend. Easy A

He's chairman of the Psychology department so he really knows his stuff. Will go into random stories, but are totally relatable to the material. Not an easy A, really had to study to understand, but he makes it enjoyable. Made the 4 hour class go by fast.

Loved, loved, loved this class!! He breaks down the subject so it is not just a boring textbook lecture he gives you real life personal examples. He answers everyone's questions and seems very organized with his lesson as well

I am currently taking Steinwert for Psy120 and honestly he is such a chill teacher. I barely show up for class only when there is a midterm which lets me know when on the syllabus. He only grades the midterms which there are 3 and you are in a total group of 4 people. IDK how the final is gonna be but right now I am at an A in the class. TAKE HIM!

Weinert is an awesome professor! He's definitely not your average professor. Sometimes his lectures for 220 were a little hard to follow because he doesn't use power points and doesn't write much on the board. Other than that, he's very helpful, funny, and very laid back.

VERY HIGH ENERGY, ENTERTAINING LECTURES. GROUP TESTS AND ONLINE QUIZZES. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO STUDY FROM THE BOOK AT HOME AND TO MAKE NOTE CARDS TO HELP KNOW FACTS. I REALLY ENJOYED ATTENDING CLASS. HE MADE ME LAUGH A LOT.

Weinert is awesome. If you have to take any Pysch course it should be with him. He knows his stuff and presents it in an easily understandable way. The final was difficult but he curved it.

I highly recommend taking classes with Professor Weinert! I've already taken several psych classes with him because he gives fun/interesting lectures, and will really help you out if you're struggling or have any questions. I am currently in his Online PSY150 class, and there's a lot of work to do for this class, but it's easy and straight forward.

EASYYYY A!!! He is a very easy grader if you do the assignments and answers questions he asked in even the slightest way you get full credit. Plus if you get to a certain point value before the semester ends you can just stop there. I have taken him for two classes and stopped 3 weeks before final due to getting the point limit he set. A+++++++

If you're a psychology major you should take every class you can with Weinert! He's funny, gives group tests, and is always willing to help. Took him online and in person he is a great professor no matter what form!

Prof Weinert is a very engaging teacher. Funny and relatable make lectures fun and interesting. Not much graded and what is, is either group test or small in class assignment. Stay caught up on reading and following along and you'll pass. Very understanding

Been at cuyamaca for 3 years now and he is by far the best professor I have had there. Hes incredibly intelligent and actually makes you listen to what hes saying. Hes fair and gives you many opportunities to succeed in his class. Best teacher ever!

Tries to be funny. You have to read the book in order to understand what the lectures are going to be about. He likes when his students answer his questions.

He made class fun and overall he seems to be caring. I thought I wasn't going to pass in the middle of the semester however you just really have to read and understand the concepts and vocabulary. The only bad thing about him is that the layout of his study guides are a bit confusing but as long as you read the book then you should be good.

He's a good professor. A lot of writing will be expected when taking his class. The class is based on watching and writing about Ted Talks, untimed quizzes, and discussion boards based on what you want to write about for the weeks chapter. The class is very easy. Follow his rubric, and you will get a high grade. Nice dude, I highly recommend him!

He made class so much fun!! such a funny professor. He's so laid back when you take tests, he lets you work with your peers so make sure you make friends!! 3 tests, 3 assignments to turn in (which is just a respond to something)) and on the final he gives you a chance to go over your wrong answers!! No hw, easy class.I would definitely take again!!

He always makes sure that the class is awake and actively paying attention by the things he does in class. He tries really hard to make a boring subject into something that isn't boring at all, and actually really interesting. Helps you out if he knows you're struggling. Barely any work and you can resubmit assign. if you get a bad grade on one.

Professor Weinert is one of the best professors out there. You know when someone loves teaching and when they love the subject, WEINERT IS ONE OF THEM. He makes lectures interesting and funny but at the same time eductional. You will not regret taking this class. BEST TEACHER EVER

As a psych major taking my first semester of college, Steve truly set the stage. I enjoyed attending his class every week (despite starting at 8AM) and seeing what we would learn next (and what new collection of jokes he would tell). He has the best personality and makes you want to dive into psych even more. Highly recommend!

This has been my 3rd class with Professor Weinert! He's an incredibly funny, caring, and overall really great professor. He's super helpful and gives wonderful feedback. Psy 201 was a beyond easy class and Professor Weinert provides many helpful resources for those who are getting ready to transfer out of Community College.

He's a very entertaining teacher and his class was always fun! I'm not a psych major but his class almost convinced me to switch majors. Only complaint is that there isn't much structure, very go-with-the-flow, but that's just personal preference! I would take his class again, he really cares about his students :)

I took the winter intersession class. The class, for me, seemed to require a lot of study to get A on the final.

The tests were a little difficult, but the curve is nice. I 100% recommend this professor for everyone, whether you're interested in the course or not. He's really awesome!

Participation is very important. As long as you try to participate, you will get credit. Each quiz allows two takes. He always provides personalized feedback. Even the more "controversial" topics are approached neutrally. His focus is on letting the students engage with each other to better understand the material.

One of the best online classes I've taken. Very structured. At first day of the class you already know what's going to happen throughout a semester. Quizzes are easy and most of them have two attempts. A LOT of VERY informative TED talks. Also good GE class to take.

Weinert is hilarious and his lectures are always fun to listen to. He makes an effort to know each of his students names and a bit about them and is caring and understanding so if you need something just ask. I would definitely take one of his courses again and it was a class I always looked forward to.

Great dude. This class was pretty chill, and he began every 8am day blasting his music. Hes funny and gave lots of anecdotes about his family and hobbies, sometimes tying that into the lecture. Gave a lot of good psych info with visuals, and barely any homework other than watching Ted talks. Always friendly and willing to talk. Learned a lot!

By far the best teacher I had in the years I was there. Gives great real life situations to help you understand the concept and is always willing to answer questions you may have. He is a teacher who actually wants to see you succeed and I would highly recommend his classes to anyone.

He's a fun professor to take in the mornings. Lectures can be a little boring sometimes if you're not really into psychology. You'll probably fall asleep during class, since it's in the theater room it's nice and cozy in there. I do recommend this professor.

He was an amazing professor and I loved him. The class is not very difficult at all. It consisted of specific chapters that had discussions and quizzes every week and all your credit comes from participation in the discussions and if you followed what he asked, easiest A I've gotten. Do the work every week and spend your time on the discussions.

The best professor ever, easy to Get A

I've taken professor Weinert in a couple of other classes and he's just been great. I love his lectures, they're educational and I personally find him funny. If you just try in his classes, he'll appreciate that. He's very lenient with his grading just as long as you show him you understand the material. One of the best at Cuyamaca in my opinion.

His lectures seemed to be all over the place so I never really went and just did the homework and read on my own. If youre a good independent learner you should be good. I managed to have a 100% the majority of the time because he was such an easy grader. Final was easy and even got a chance to go back and fix my wrong answers.

The lectures are long, but Professor Weinert was always able to keep the energy of the class going. He seems passionate about what he teaches and just wants his students to try their best. Really nice and helpful too, He even spent a little over 30 mins with me on a zoom call once to helped me download the stats software to my computer.

Show up to class, listen to lectures, and you will do fine! Professor Weinert is super funny and makes lectures super fun and tries to include everyone. When you take tests sometimes you can do it in groups or with a partner if you choose. Support is always there.

He does have a lot of work that needs to be done, however he grades fairly and excepts late work. He's funny, interactive, and truly cares about his students. He holds zoom lectures, but they were optional. He knows his stuff!! He doesn't base grades off of weekly test scores. I would 100% take a class with him again.

This professor was a good teacher. You could tell he genuinely wanted to teach HOWEVER, it is very work heavy. It's not hard work (mostly busy work) but there are many assignments every week and they really do make you think which is nice. He is extremely flexible and barely quizzes or tests so mostly hw. Def recommend, great guy just a work load.

Overall, the class was pretty easy, but every lesson requires the textbook he provides. Professor Weinert is a cool dude and cares about his students, however I personally felt some of the instructions were unclear and I often times found myself spending hours on an assignment because of how confused I was. Coursework is heavy (for rapid course).

I took this class over the Summer and it was fairly easy. Not very challenging and not many assignments over the week. Sometimes the way he grades is a bit odd but overall I recommend this class to students interested in psychology! He does accept late work which is a bonus. I ended the class with a high score and I would take it again!

Easy A. I took this class during the intersession. Each module is a discussion post and an assignment where you just have to ask a question that you have which is worth 10 points. No quizzes or tests. Just discussion posts, very easy!

GREAT guy! NO TESTS! Some instructions for assignments aren't very clear, but if you try, and if you communicate with him, you'll be fine. He's very ADHD, super funny, and has a way of relating concepts to the real world. Lots of questions asked of the class, so try to participate and you'll get more out of it.

Amazing professor, made spss easy to understand. Funny, gets a little off topic but that's the best part! Ultimately, he is always trying to make himself accessible for students which can really help in a time of need. I have taken multiple classes he teaches and enjoyed every single one! Could not recommend him more!

Weinert can be all over the place conversationally, but he's a very helpful and caring professor. The class is very manageable if taken seriously and if questions are asked. His grading criteria is vague, but his requirements are also vague. As long as you make an effort to understand the material, you will succeed with flying colors in this class.

An amazing prof, especially for freshman! He doesn't take attendance or mark you late and the work he gives is super easy, mostly just class discussions. You can participate as much as you like, if you want to read the textbook you can but hardly anyone does. He's very nice and cares about his students, as long as you do the work u get full credit.

Professor W is awesome. Take his class you will not regret it. He teaches you how to see the psychology in your daily life. Work is easy and his lectures are recorded so if you cannot make it to class you can watch the recording.

My class was a P/F class, but I passed easily. This course only has discussions and assignments based on the text book and NO tests!! The discussions and assignments are easy as long as you read the textbook.

Professor Weinert quickly became my favorite teacher! He has a great personality and makes learning fun. He is hilarious and very relaxed on grading, understanding people have family and work lives outside of school. I would, without a doubt, take another one of his courses.

Professor Weinert's PSY120 class is a solid choice. The workload is manageable, with discussions and assignments based on the textbook. Unstuckstudy AI was a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook. Overall, an engaging and informative course.

He's so smart, knowledgeable, and cares about his students. I took his 8-week online course, and he still showed so much care for everyone in our class. He grades graciously, and this was honestly the easiest course I've ever taken.

Mr. Weinert is a really cool professor. He brings his dog Ted to class every day, and I really enjoyed his lectures. Additionally, the HyFlex format was great because it let me choose whether to attend in person/online. My only complaint is that some of his assignments were a bit vague. I would definitely take his class again if I had the chance.
