Very good teacher. He engages the class with interesting activites. Enthusiastic about what he teaches and is able to add humor in his curriculum. His tests are not that difficult as long as you understand the concepts and vocabulary of the course. Would recommend to all.
Mr. Albert is a good teacher and is passionate about Economics. He is consistent and if you attend and take notes you will be fine. He makes learning interesting and applies current events to what you are learning. I would highly recommend him, I took his Macro class and signed up for his Micro class this term.
He is very passionate and includes various current situations to problems done in class. He is a great teacher. Just go to class and you'll do fine. Dont need the book. Great teacher, definitely recommended teacher!! Take macro before you take micro, its a lot easier, youll understand the material better.
He is really passionate about what he is teaching. He uses current events to explain the material. Study and show up to class and you will be fine
Excellent teacher. He applies current events to class material which is very helpful. Ive taken both micro and macro, and found that i liked micro better
Mr. Albert is the best teacher I've had at MPC! He is really interested in what he teaches, and makes the students interested too. He's really organized, easy to follow, and he even takes notes in class over the overhead projector so you know exactly what to write in your notes. If you can, take his class, it's totally worth it!
Dr. Albert is a fantastic teacher. He is laid back and makes the content interesting. He doesn't require that you show up to class (doesn't affect your grade), there was only one homework assignment and he posts all required notes on the projector for all to copy. He is very organized and makes what could be a very boring topic very fun! A+
really good at putting economics into words anyone can understand. no homework but the tests are challenging. he's straight forward and helpful. awesome teacher!
Dr Albert is a cool cat. He's laid back, very knowledgeable and you don't have to show up to class but if you want a good grade, you WILL. No homework but in-class assignments are surprises. Tests are HARD but if you write down everything he writes on the projector and KNOW it, you're golden. I've never learned more in any other class.
Mr. Albert is a wonderful teacher. He is so passionate about the subject of econ that it makes the class so easy. He also will help you with whatever you need. He is a great teacher!
Loved this class. Although attendance is not mandatory, I highly recommend it as the 2 exams/final (only points in the class) come straight from lecture and if you attend daily, they are a breeze. Really relevant to current times and keeps discussions light and fun.
I think Prof. Albert is just the best teacher in the department. His teaching talent also lies in his ability to personally work with each student to make sure student get full understanding of the subject. His lectures are actually interesting and understandable. Highly recommend!
Good teacher, really loves the subject. Attendance is not mandatory but really needed since most of grade is based on 2 test and final. If you show up and give an effort you will pass.
PROFESSOR ALBERT IS THE BEST!!! There is not enough good things I can say about this guy. He takes economics and makes it fun and simple. His tests are a little hard because they cover a lot of material. Study hard and getting an A is possible. Most definitely one of the best professors I have had in my life!
I would probably say he is the best teacher in MPC. He's academic cliche tells us that us berkeley, london economic school. He will give everything you need, you have a problem if u can't get an a in this class.he is very helpful and he works so hard to come prepared that as a student it's impossible not to get an interest in this class. 100% recomm
i'd like to take his class again! :D
Amazing prof. His lecture is sometimes all over the place when he tells you abt the Dow Jones and recent Nobel Prize in Econ winners xD, but after all, we should at least know some recent news in an econ class. Tests are hard and multiple choices can be tricky. Study hard and getting an A is possible!
I liked his Micro class so much last semester that I signed up for his Macro class this semester. He's very clear in his lectures sometimes he's all over the place but whatever he writes down you should too, his tests are all based on his own lecture notes. Another major plus is the book is free :) great class over all!
He was very clear. Knew and presented the material well. Very easy to learn and understand with him. No book needed. Tests are somewhat tough, but I barely study and still retain a B. Be aware the wording and terms on the test get cofusing but if I could just show up and listen (easy/fun to listen) and not study for the test and get a B. Easy
I took his online microecon class. Not as easy as the typical online class, but very possible to get a good grade if you put in the effort. Plus he is a pretty good teacher as well; come to office hour, ask questions, and you are good to go. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants an interesting social science elective for their GE
I took Albert this past Spring semester. He was amazing!! Made the course interesting, educational and always engaged with us throughout the class. Reading the book was helpful but not really a must. If you attend, listen to his lectures, ask questions if you're confused and genuinely attempt the material--you will pass with flying colors!
Great professor!
Fantastic instructor!
Great teacher. Just pay attention in class and listen when he says something will be on the test. That easy
Very helpful but you have to show up to class to get a good grade. he gives multiple choice questions for the tests out in class. steeve albert is really enthusiastic about economics!!!
Best economics professor ever!!! Pay attention in class, do the PROBLEM SETS, watch the YouTube videos and you'll be fine.
He's extremely enthusiastic about Economics, and he helps you out a lot with his online written lectures as well as his YouTube videos. He gives a lot of free points in class, it's his way of taking attendance, so be sure to attend. He makes Econ fun!
He was the best Econ teacher I have had. Make sure you attend class because he gives out multiple choice questions and he gives you extra points for showing up. He is a great teacher and if you don't like Econ I recommend him since he makes it fun. I actually loved going to class!
Dr. Albert is the best professor I've had. Ever. He is very organized and clear about what you need to know to succeed in his class. Can't say enough good things about him.
This teacher is amazing. He truly defines what a teacher should be. He is always willing to help you understand the material and even provides some youtube links of his lectures as supplemental. He is very clear and concise as to what he wants on his tests. Funny lecturer as well. Just show up and take good notes and you will pass.
Steve is a great teacher. Before taking his Macro course, I literally hated Econ. After his course I've actually grown quite fond of it. He is very interesting and the work is fairly easy as long as you come to class and participate in class discussions. I would highly recommend him to anyone attending MPC
Really great teacher. He knows his subject very well. However, he tends to be a bit spread all over the place during lecture. He says he won't throw any curveballs on tests, but often times he would press on specific matters with tricky wording. Tough grader, but a good guy.
I took his Micro economics Fall'13. I recommend you to take the class in the classroom, not in the Lecture Forum. He was always staying after class to help us go through the class. Test was 2 midterms and 1 finals which were very easy if you go to class and take all the notes. Always 15 multiple questions and few essays. He is so awesome!!!!
Albert is probably one of the best Econ professors I have ever had, he's clear in his lectures (which run the entire length of the class), but they're interesting. Take this class if you can sit and listen to a lecture for long periods of time and pay attention. He makes econ fun, I fully recommend taking his lecture class; his online one is harder
BEST TEACHER EVER! This is the second class that I've taken with Steve (one in class and one online) and both were great! He is always very helpful to those who want it and he makes economics intrresring.
Had Dr. Albert for Micro, really great class. The textbook is online, you might not need it for the course but I did all the reading and found it helped for my projects. Any questions I had, I could email him and he would respond before the next class period. Definitely recommend him for Econ.
He makes a boring subject like economics interesting. He makes it very understandable as well. As long as you go to class and take notes and do his few assignments, you will do well in the class. His tests are pretty straight forward. He gives you a study guide before the test to practice. As long as you do those you will do fine on the test.
I took this class online and it was his first time teaching online. He didn't quite have it down yet. I felt like my life revolved around this one class because of not being able to respond to discussions until certain days of the week. When I take an online class I want to just get it done and not think about it for a while.
He is amazing! Took both his macro and micro online and loved it! He does everything he can to make sure you know the material. Discussion forums and replies are a must. A few tests and a few assignments. He provides youtube clips in his online lectures that help tremendously. Pretty easy A if you do the work and pay attention. Would take again!
Fantastic class! I learned a ton and had a blast. He set up a study group with a tutor and made sure that everyone had the chance to talk to him one-on-one if they needed to. He also has video lectures up on Youtube that are extremely helpful. Also, there weren't very many tests and homework assignments.
Incredible class, awesome professor.
Great teacher that is not difficult and allows students to actually learn. Recommended for sure.
Fantastic class with a great teacher. Passionate for what he teaches.
Took online class. Mr. Albert is a great instructor. The class consists mostly of "quizlets", along with 4 online exams, weekly group discussions, and a few written assignments throughout the semester. Read the textbook, read the lessons online & watch the videos, do all the assignments, you'll pass. I highly recommend this course!
One of the best teachers at MPC! He is very knowledgeable and really relays the information in a great way. Gives you everything you need to know and study well before a tests. Write down everything he does. I would take him again without question. He has a passion for it. Made me love econ. I wish they offered more courses in economics.
LOVE Steve! I thought that he was hilarious. Participate in class, because it matters. Pay attention too! He makes the material easier to understand by making it relatable. Plus he's fun! You definitely have to study the materials (not an easy A) but he is more than willing to help. You won't regret taking his class.
Steve is an AMAZING guy. He cares about his students, and makes sure that the information is presented in a way that is understood by everyone. He makes the material relatable, and is overall a great professor who knows what he's talking about.
Professor Albert was fantastic. I took him for 2 semesters and could not be happier. His class isn't easy but he's an excellent teacher and if you show up and listen, it should be a breeze.
Steve is amazing. He gives lectures that are relatable aka he speaks human and doesn't sound like a textbook. BIG KEY HERE, his tests are mostly based off of his lectures and his assignments so go to class and do the assignments. This especially applies to his online class. Be proactive. Go to office hours if you need help or shoot him an email.
Really approachable and willing to help. Not an easy A but information is accessible. He posts interactive lectures online, and his in-class lectures are what is on the tests. Great professor, would take him again if I could. No final.
This guy is amazing! I love his teaching style and lectures. He is so dedicated to his students and practically gives all the resources needed to succeed within his lectures! He makes Economics very clear to understand and uses simple terms to explain everything. If you've never taken economics before, I would definitely recommend Prof Albert!
Quizzes each week, and a few tests here and there. Super clear material and always willing to help you if you're not getting it. Highly recommend
Definitely knows his material and isn't afraid to relate it to the students. Little out of class work. Study the in-class notes and you'll be fine.
ECON 2 - Good, good, good! Excelente!
Mr. Albert is one of a best teachers. But remember, you should come to class if you want to pass it. Tests based on his lectures. There will be homeworks , not heavy ones but you will have to use your thinker.
Albert is a great teacher, friendly, and isn't too difficult. Be sure to go to class though since everything on the test is form what he says and writes in class which isn't in the textbook. Do well on all assignments (even the small in class ones) as there isn't much graded so each assignment is worth a lot. Definitely an A possible class
Nice guy but boring lectures. He made the concepts seem so easy in lecture but then the tests would be extremely specific. Did not need book at all because all content was his own. Do not miss the 2 homework sets he gives out as they are the only assignments he gives and can make or break your grade. Don't be lazy and you'll do better than I did.
Ive taken two online classes from him. He makes his course super organized and easy to follow. The material itself is difficult but hes a good teacher even for an online class. Each week consists on reading a short lesson, taking a short quiz, and then writing in a discussion.
Even if you do not like the economics, Steve still will be your best of the best professors. There is no one like him at MPC. Don't be scared. Take both Econ 2 & 4. Also, it is better to take this class in-person.
He only grades less than 10 'assignment and tests', so he's a very tough grader. He's hilarious and entertaining, but his text and notes don't apply to what we're working on.
I took both microeconomics and macroeconomics with Professor Albert and would absolutely take another course from him. He is passionate about his subject and is very caring towards his students. You can tell he genuinely wants his students to succeed. Even if you are not a Business major, I would recommend his courses!
The hybrid class didn't have mandatory attendance, but if you didn't show up you'd miss a chance to turn in your homework and receive the following week's homework. So you'd ultimately fail.
Super funny guy. Great teacher. If you had a hard time with Econ in high school hell definitely give you a whole new perspective on it. Very easy to understand. Definitely attend the class. Definitely do the homework (you wont pass without it). If you need help ASK hes more than happy to to go over text with you
Great professor. I took both Econs w him in the same semester, & he did great in both. Very knowledgeable and cares on teaching his students. Makes such a difficult subject to learn enjoyable and a great learning experience. He is an amazing professor and I 100% recommend to anyone taking Economics. He wants to see his students succeed!
Overall good teacher, large workload, a lot of learning has to be done on your own, as expected with any college course.
Steven is a good teacher. I didn't do so well in the first class I took with him, but second time around has been great. He really cares about the students comprehension of the material. He grades very fairly. Overall a good choice if you want to truly understand the material and not just coast.
There was only 3 exams which if you know basic things about economics and business should be a breeze. Only ECON prof here at MPC but he's really good and will make the class enjoyable and relatable.
I used to hate Econ and now I can't get enough. Steve is by far my favorite teacher I have ever had. He is very straightforward and really cares about what youre learning. I took this class online and took ECON2 in person. Both were great but take in person if you can. Hes really funny and hard worker. Just put in the work and youll do fine
Loved this class! I hated Economics before taking Steve's class. Now I understand more than I thought I could. He's very caring and straightforward. Don't skip class!! Everything you need to know is done during lecture, and there are daily "quizzes" that are more about seeing what you know than what you don't. You get full credit just for doing it
Steve is one of those professors who actually read your work and your discussion post to give you feedback. He makes videos for his online class to guide you so it's a little easier to learn. 2 quizzes each week and a discussion the next. He drops the 3 lowest quiz grades at the end of the semester. Very open and there to help.
Steve has been super helpful and supportive in an online class environment. He really is wiling to help students in need, which I truly appreciated in these trying times. The class is broken down in manageable pieces each week and the weekly work load follows the same format each week (so no surprises). If you need Econ, take it with Steve!
Steve is definitely a go-to for me! He has clear lectures that make it easy to understand & you get credit for the discussions even if you're wrong, just as long as you're trying & have a basis idea. Truly a gem & his finals were also open note which was really helpful! For being a first time online instructor, he has adapted really well.
Mr. Albert was a great instructor. The course and syllabus were very clear as to what you were graded on and when to expect it. We had weekly discussion questions in addition to a video lecture. I recommend watching the additional but optional videos. Getting a hold of him is easy, just email him. I enjoyed my experience and recommend the class!
This class went pretty smoothly even though Economics is a hit or miss subject for me. Very great professor and does care about his students. If you need to take Economics take his class!!
Video Lectures given. Very detailed feedback.
I took him for ECON2 and it felt like he graded more on our style of notes rather than what we wrote, like an english prof. Most of his lectures were corrected in between lessons which left me very confused and his feedback was not helpful. He said he would look over my last work again but never got back to me, which is unprofessional.
Amazing professor! The assignments were the same weekly and had the same deadline which was easy to follow. There was midterms and a final test that both included 2 parts (Multiple choice & Essay portion). His lectures were easy to understand and made me laugh at times as he would tell us some jokes. Very understanding and gives feedback.
Professor Albert was a great teacher and I'm taking his Microeconomics class next semester! He lays out the workload weeks prior and has a structured class style. His lectures correspond with the online textbook reading and supplemental videos. Great teacher and very funny at times, very understanding with grades. I took a hybrid class.
GET READY TO HAVE ALOT OF WORK. HE IS REALLY HARD ON GRADING. MOST OF HIS DISCUSSIONS DON'T MAKE SENSE.
Professor Albert ALWAYS gave me something else to complete to make up for missed in-class tasks when I took him in person for econ 2. His video lectures were consistently engaging, his notes were easy to understand and his assignments were the same every week. About professor Albert, I have nothing bad to say. Take his class and you'll pass.
I took his macro and microecon class online. Every week is pretty straightforward with a video lecture that has quizzes you throughout the video, readings & notes, and discussion. 2 midterms, 1 final. As long as you pay attention to the videos and read textbook/lecture notes you will do fine.
Microecon Spring 2024: Professor Albert was a great professor for Microecon and I had great expectations considering I took his Macrocon class last semester. Another wonderful semester. Solid lectures online and in-person. Provides textbook links online for you.
he has a way of making things click. he really wants his students to understand what he's teaching. if you actually pay attention, he'll tell you exactly what to say for the tests.
Great professor. Lectures are very well planned out, informative and get straight to the point. The textbook we used for the class was free which is a great bonus. He gives detailed individual feedback for assignments which comes in handy when studying for exams.
Mr. Albert is a very good professor with short but engaging lectures. There are weekly discussions, but not too much work. The exams are essays, but open notes. (USE YOUR PAST DISCUSSION REPLIES) This class does not require much time and I 100% recommend him. He is super nice and learning the material is very easy and clear.
Do all the work on time and you will pass the class. Work hard put in the effort and don't miss any assignments.
Last spring, I enrolled in Professor Albert's microeconomics class as part of my business major requirements. To my surprise, I enjoyed the class so much that I decided to change my major to economics. That's just how great his class is! I'm looking forward to taking macroeconomics with him this fall!
Prof albert was very convincing in the way he presents the arguments for markets. He clearly wants you to not leave his class thinking that markets solve everything, but to understand them. Bit insecure about his hairline lol.
he was chill, super easy only had a bad grade because I was depressed as hell
Albert is the greatest professor of all time. He's the greatest professor to ever walk this planet. If he stepped onto another planet, he'd instantly become the greatest professor on that planet. 10/10.
