One my favorite professors in BMCC; he's awesome, hands down. He's very clear on what he wants, well organized and funny at times. The books were pretty cool especially [email protected]. I actually learned a lot in his class. He gives weekly quizzes to keep people on their toes, and his syllabus is one of the most creative ones I've ever seen

As everyone else has said, Prof. Belluscio is one of the best I've had at BMCC. If you do the work and attend class you'll do well and learn. He gives ample opportunity to correct your papers and get a better grade. And for it doesn't hurt that he's got a certain sexy je ne sais quoi...

Like everyone said! only 4 essays, and you can rewrite each one, always having the chance to get a perfect score no matter what. no midterm, no quizzes, just weekly graded classwork and the most boring, extensive grammar overview. he's nice, and god, he's cute.

I got an A in his class. HW and attendance are reeeeeally important in his class. there was no midterm in his class, but he has quizzes for us almost every class. The quizzes are basic grammar. easy A at all if u finish ur HW on time and attend to his class on time. Only 5 papers including final. Eassy A. Good luck..

If you do your assignments and rewrite you papers( he gives student change to rewrite), you will get an A. Homework and attendence are important,you don't want to miss any of them, because they will affect your final grade, which is fair enough. If you take his class serious, he will make your effort worth! He guides you how to write good essays.

This professor is for English majors only! He gives hard assignments for English 101. The assignments that he gives us are English 201. I feel that this professor is for students that are really good in literature! If you are not a English major, then DO NOT TAKE HIM!

I like this professor a lot, his method of teaching. therefore, you will learn something from his class. He will give you a lot of opportunities to improve your grade, but if you are not used to study,don't bother.His assignments are not for the students with IQ higher than 130:)

he is ok. I actually enjoyed writing and learnt a lot in his class, but he is a tough grader. take him if you want to work hard and end up with an unsatisfying grade.

This a very easy class I would highly recommend this class for freshmen's that want to ease into the collage experience. Prof. does give a lot of in class quizzes but they are easy as long as you read the readings he assigns. These tests makes up for the midterm since most ENG generally wont give you a midterm. Homework is easy as well.

Took him for summer 1. He is very structured and keeps you on track with the syllabus. It's important your on time because he almost always gives a quiz 2 minutes into the class based on assigned readings. He goes over The readings after the quiz to engage thought for the purpose of future essay writing which I found very helpful. Good class.

He is so good! As an international student i was afraid to take ENG 101, but he made my semester very enjoyable. He helps a lot and there are many chances to get extra credit. Be diligent and punctual and you will got an A

This class was really easy and he is a no nonsense guy, which I like. Come to class, put some effort in, and you will pass. Lots of quizzes but they are super super easy and most only have 5 questions. Seems a little standoffish but he's alright.

He's informative but could be boring cause he literally just talks about the books we have to read. We had to read 9 books. YES, NINE BOOKS. Don't take it if you're not ready to read a lot, if you follow well though, he could be a fair grader. But i don't think a being fair professor is everything, he's bohhring... Wouldn't take him again.

He responds to your e-mail (even on weekends), he goes over literally ALL the readings for the class, he gives you his honest answer to your questions, and he will TELL YOU and UPLOAD THEM ON BB on all the directions for your upcoming paper and exam. As long as you hand in your work and show up, he is a reasonable grader! A+ Professor.

Don't let his tough demeanor scare you away. If you're a serious student take his class. Many short assignments (take each one seriously) he'll drop the four lowest. Five readings (reading discussions), five papers (you have a chance to revise). He'll ask you to read aloud, he uses blackboard, and computers in the classroom. Highly recommended.

He is an amazing professor, by far the most coolest one to have, he's very lax, gives a lot of work, but it's not to hard, likes to help out, always suggests people to receive help, very respected reasonable dude.

Dont let some of these reviews stop you from taking this prof. He is amazing! Though he is stickler for tardiness, show up late and you will be marked late no exceptions. Dont attend and you will get marked absent. BUT he allows double of what BMCC allows which is why he is strict on this. The essays have 2 due dates the first is a preview grade.

Writing has always been a struggle for me so I liked his class because there were no surprises. Everything was on the syllabus, very clear grading criteria, 2 due dates for each paper so if you didn't like your first grade you could resubmit. He's strict on attendance. Don't be late or you'll miss the quizzes at the beginning of class.

Easy A+ He is such a smart man with a lot of personality.

Prof. Belluscio follows solid syllabus with dates of given quizzes, due papers and final. Having two due dates for papers actually gives one a chance to do even better the second time around (if submitted on time). Extra points for tech knowledge and attendance. He seems strict but really helps to do well.

Had him for my first year here and he really is a cool guy and his essays aren't really that complicated. He usually explains things to you if you ask him. By far one of the best proffesors I've had so far.

Around every 2 weeks you have a lecture due, an essay and a quiz which is not bad. I worked hard for the A I got on this class. Before taking ENG 101, I was kind of scared because BMCC has a few numbers of good English professors. Professor Belluscio is the best English professor at BMCC. I took ENG 101 this summer and got an A. I strongly recommend him, because you will learn a lot from him. My writing skills has improved because of him and at I love reading now.

He will Give you class time to complete assignments and lets you re-write all the essays if you want a better grade. He doesnt make you read a lot gives you articles with max 5 pages.

I love this professor! Yes, show up to class because he grades participation! He gives quizzes on the readings used for essay assignments to make sure you actually understand it before writing about it. He provides 2 due dates for each essay allowing you to improve and get better grades, and he gives a graded practice final before the real thing.

I took this Professor Belluscio for the 6 week summer class of 2019 which was really easy. He teaches you the correct MLA format. We also had a quiz every week on articles we had to read about and also write essays on each article he was also a fair grader he made sure to give us class time to complete these essays. ATTENDANCE IS MAJOR!

He will give you a lo to read and make sure when you upload anything online (Turn it in) it is exactly how he wants the assignment presented as or else you won't get any feedback. If you do get feedback, FOLLOW THE FEEDBACK!! He wants you to pass. There is 2 papers, 1 research paper, 1 practice exam paper and Final paper. Try to work ahead of time.

Very fair grader. Very adamant on deadlines so be aware but if you turn in everything online and do the work you'll get an A. I passed with 102% overall (because of extra credit). It was asynchronous but he was very responsive to all emails. Great professor!!!! Would take him again.

I took him for a summer class ( the one that last only 4-6 weeks). It was hard, because we needed to write three essays. However we had a very strict schedule - he didn't accept late work I loved his class. He really gives feedback on your essay and he is clear about the requirements.

He's a very nice guy, and actually will give you proper feedback if you do your drafts. An easy class and he always has a proper schedule which is cool. Just make sure everything is handed in early because he doesn't accept late work.

He was such a great professor. He explained the work over and over, to fully make sure that every student could get a great grade in his class. I don't consider myself a great writer but I got almost a perfect grade in his class thanks to him constantly giving feedback. Easy and nice teacher. Would take him again in a heartbeat. I took Dr. B in the summer and here's my review, he explains to you what you don't understand. He's available for any email questions that you have, he makes composition much easier by the way he explains the discipline to you. He provides work sheets with vital info, other counterparts don't do this and you don't want that. My grade for him is A.

AMAZING professor!! he's a very understanding professor and accepts late assignments(to a certain extent). if you need him, he's there for you. Gives AMAZING feedback!

Professor B was very straight forward in what he wanted. Once you followed the instructions and used his feedback appropriately, you can't fail. If you need additional assistance, he is there to help. It was very difficult to keep up because things were due 4-5 days out of the week and the course was only 5 weeks long but I would take him again.

Please take him; you will not be sorry! He gives clear instructions and responds quickly to emails. He provides detailed feedback and is easy to work with.

If you have to take English 101 I recommend taking him. You do about three essays for which he gives you feedback and allows you to edit. The workload is very reasonable and gives you time to work on your other classes. He also takes off 3 assignments that have zeros which is also very helpful. I wish I could retake him for my next English class.

Professor Belluscio was the absolute best in all aspects. He explained everything in great detail, was very accessible, and responded to emails within minutes. There are no late assignments accepted nor extra credit given. Once you do the work with his specifications you will get an A. Take his class if you have the opportunity. The best!

Amazing professor. Took him summer 2022. I learned so much from his class and even sent him an email saying he has been the best English professor I have ever had. There isn't a huge workload of papers and the prompts he gave were really good and easy to write about and the readings were short and very interesting.

Ez grader, with clear explanation and suggestion, but somehow, he didn't teach a lot in course, the meeting wasn't really necessary.

Professor B is an amazing professor, he gives very clear instructions for each assignment. There's about two assignments a week to help build up your essay writing skills(MLA format), as long as you do the work you will pass with an A!

This review is for the five-week summer course; highly-recommend! There are graded class discussions, but you will be graded on papers which are split into multiple review/edit assignments. He will drop the 3 lowest 10-points, and he never grades lower than your initial first draft. If you read his tips, your grade will only go up.

I took ENG 101 in the Fall of 2022. Prof. Belluscio was amazing. His assignments were writing intensive but manageable. He outlined and detailed how he wanted his work done and gave helpful feedback. Over the semester, I saw a huge improvement in my writing and attribute that to Prof. B's guidance, and commitment to his students. No regrets.
