How can you make statistics interesting? Mr. Bitzer can. Great class.
he teaches a stats class in a computer room. everything is done on excell. keep up w/ the hw and the class is a breeze.
Great prof.....he teaches a hard class and you have to pay attention, but he is fun to listen to and doesn't leave you confused.
He's completely good.. he is so kind... he always try his best to teach you..this is the easiest class in math...you will get an A so easy...
He's great and funny! He somehow always has time to tell you a little bit about his life or what new motorcycle he's gonna buy! He has the best way of explaining things and is always willing to take questions during class.
If you plan to take statistics, take it from Mr. Bitzer. The subject can be difficult, but he explains everything very clearly and will always help if you have questions. Just pay attention in class and keep up with the vocabulary quizzes! =)
if you like a teacher that can be a sacastic take Mr.Bitzer. He is very helpful if you take the time to ask him questions.
Great teacher! Stats was made easy by Steve Bitzer!
The difficulty could be lower, but only if you're lazy. His explanations may bore you at times, but overall, he's a great teacher. Focus on acing the vocab tests, then make sure study well in tests. Once you learn the concepts on Excel, it's a cakewalk.
Mr. Bitzer is passionate about math/teaching and he cares about his students needs. I highly recommend him!
When i took his class, he seemed unorganized. One test had 20 probs when it takes 5hrs to complete, no one got very far. He doesn't like to admit he is wrong, but obviously loves his subject. Overall he is an o.k. teacher
Mr. Bitzer is one of the few teachers who make it obvious that they care about their students. If you ask questions he will try his best to explain it in a way that you will understand. This is a hard class, so be prepared to spend a lot of time studying.
horrible class. Don't take this teacher, very high-paced, a bunch of nerds take this class.
best math teacher I ever had!!!!!
Mr. Bitzer is a really good teacher and tries to make his lectures as clear as possible. It is a very hard class but he is always willing to help and explain things. He has good stories and tries to make class fun. Great teacher overall but still its hard material to learn.
He is a fun dorky teacher. He likes to have a good time as aslong as he gets through his lecturing. He is willing to explain the concept if you dont understand. Tests are easy as long as you do the easy homework.
Mr. Bitzer is a good guy. He's really fun and easy going as a person, but as a teacher he goes too fast. His tests are long and confusing. The subject is tough enough as it is, but he doesn't make it any easier.
I learned so much in this class that even now having taken Research Methods+Upper Division Psychological Stats, he hands down is the best math teacher I've had.
TWO THUMBS UP!

One of the best teachers I have had at Ohlone. Not a big fan of math but he made the class very easy and interesting. Tests were pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework. I got an A in the class. Very good teacher.
He's gotta be the KEWLEST mathematics teacher that I've ever had!!
forthright, lofty, elemental
Mr. Bitzer is a great teacher who makes this class fun. I've had a great time in this course. If you apply yourself you can do well. He's very helpful and clear and gives students every opportunity to do well if they're willing to put out the effort. I would highly recommend him for Statistics. He's been, so far, my favorite teacher at Ohlone.
Mr. B is the man, I took stats when i had 22 units and still managed a B. HE is a cool guy and he wants everyone to do well..its very very hard not to pass this class since half the class is just knowing vocab..take mr b, he is 1 of the best teachers at ohlone..and ive had many teachers
Bitzer is an awesome teacher. You can pass the class with an A w/no prob if you study. Just make sure you don't mess up on the vocab test. It really helps you a lot. 70ish words might seem a lot but it's really not. The trick is to memorize specific words in the definition and than memorize the word that goes with it.
He is so nice and his test are very fair. We had the best oppurtunity to get A in the exams. Very reasonable grading.
Mr Bitzet is a wonderful teacher. He is so helpful. It is easy to get an A in his class. Just be sure to attend his lectues and and review the stuff he did in the lecture. He is really cool.
mr. Bitzer is very easy. go for him
Awesome...Juss Awesome..juss take him..if u want to get a gud grade and dont like studying off from books..juss Take him
WARNING this class is hard if u r not good at math in general.BUT, Bitzer is the man, he can get u through this class. IF u can memorize, this class will be a piece of cake. Everything on the computer(excel), u already know what is going to be on the exam. Questions in the exam are exactly like the ones in class except he changes the numbers.
Mr. Bitzer is cool, statistic is hard but he made it easy to understand, take him he's cool and handsome
This class is the easiest A ever! He gives you all the test/quiz questions with answers to practice as much as you want. You dont even have to learn stats you just memorize the questions and their answers and some excel codes.
This is the first Math professor I've ever had that understandable. He's great with analogy making something as abstract as calculus very understandable. Though his teaching methods are not traditional (good thing) his grading policy is, so attend class, and aim for that 90%. He only uses *problems from the book* for teaching so do homework twice.
He is really an awesome teacher and clarifies the subject very well. He gives you notes and formulaes essential for social sciences or business with Statistics. Just work hard and study for quizzes, exams and a real world application final.
He's a great guy. But people who had his class before the fall of 08 found it to be easier. It used to just be ONE program, HIS program, and it made statistics easy... then he added the "course compass" program in addition to his, and it became living HELL! I had to drop the class because the homework was horribly time consuming. Great teacher tho!
Mr. Bitzer is a good teacher, though u may think the lesson is a little bit hard at the beginning. Just work hard, do his program questions (ALWAYS) and do all coursecompass questions+ do the ch test in it you will probably pass or even get gd grades.Sometimes he will give extra credit to everyone, he may also cut the test due to limitation of time
Easy Intro to Stats course. Two parts to this class. One is from the textbook & an online homework and testing site. Studying for this is time consuming but not impossible to do. Second part is an excel program. This is very easy. You need to understand and memorize to do well.
There were many days I felt I didn't need to be there. Worked on course compass and his program everyday which we can also do at the comfort of our own homes. His tests can be accessed from home, so it isn't hard to get above 90% on the tests. He's a chill person. Do your homework on course compass and practice the test at home and you'll get an A.
The class is composed of 2 parts: Course Compass (CC) and Excel. The textbook is not required but only for getting an access code for CC. I ended up dropping the course because CC took too much of my time while Excel is mostly based off of memorization. Overall, his class is understandable as long as you have the time to learn all of the material.
The best math instructor I have ever taken!!He makes every single problem clear,no matter when you have trouble understanding,he's always nice to help you!Take him!!
Mr. Bitzer is a nice guy. He is there in his office twice a week and helps in math lab too. I enjoyed this class. It's not easy but it was ok. I learned alot and I will miss playing with excel.Mr. B makes it fun!
Provides a more superficial overrall view of statistics. Teaches formulas and mechanics, but does not explain application to real life. Much easier statistics teachers at Ohlone, like Holmes.
He is the best teacher at Ohlone I have even taken!Very clear, very helpful.Take his class!
Bitzers one of the sicket math teachers Ive ever had, extremely helpful and has a mellow overall personality. Only lectures for about 20 mins hten lets us work on homework in class. Loved him!
Great teacher, but not an easy A. Prepare to work hard. Nice to look at!
He's a cool guy and allows you to do hw in class. This class is about the online hw he gives out on CourseCompass. The test is ONLY the hw questions. So if you have the time to do the hw and the quizzes, you'll get an A! :)
I don't know why this guy has descent ratings... quite a few people dropped and he is very strict. On the plus side, I guess he was fairly clear and seemed passionate about math. Anyway, I dropped his class for Holmes. He's SO much easier.
Agree with the comment bellow. He is VERY strict and NOT easy, you must spend A LOT OF TIME doing his hw. I personally don´t recomend him if you work part time and are taking more than 12 units... it´s just too much time consuming in hw.
If you're lazy, don't end up with him. He is very strict but not the mean type. If you do end up with him, he's not that bad as everyone claims to be. IF you work hard in the beginning of the semester, you can manage to get "C" tests and still end up with an A. You get to drop 3 tests out of 12 test and the final is optional. How is that strict?
He's a cool guy. However, I do not like the idea that Ohlone has Stats computer based... u can very easily fall behind and not only do u have to learn the material, you gotta be good at excel and know the various applications. Personally, not my learning style, so I dropped and took lecture based, and it was better for me.
One of the top-tier teachers of Math. His lectures are crystal clear, answers every single problem and overall he's a really nice person.
You will definitely have to study if you take this class. You don't have to get the textbook if you don't want to, so that's good, however you do need MyStatLab. He's also nice and approachable so don't be scared to ask him for help.
Definitely one of the better math professors at Ohlone. The only complaint was having cumulative tests. In the end he was very generous with grading.
Super hard professor. If you are going for an A in his class you will most likely fail. gives hard tests, his tests are usually cumulative. gives about 3 tests per chapter. 2 day in class test then take home mathematica test. do not take him if you want an A or if you are taking more then one hard class.
This class was so easy! I hate math too, and I personally loved that it was computer based. As long as you keep on top of the work, it basically forces you to practice enough problems so you will for sure get an A on the test! Mr. Bitzer is super nice too, and very willing to help you with whatever you need. My advice, go to his lectures.
the teacher hasn't taught this subject in awhile,he was lacking on the amount of information given. One week we would rush though the material for a test and the next week we would be taking our time.I would think I know my material during class meeting but when I go home to do my homework, I would be lost.I really like the extra lecture note
The best math teacher I've had at Ohlone. He's very helpful and approachable. The computer based program made it easy to learn and practice the material. I am usually horrible in math but I did well in his class. I would definitely recommend him!
Very nice mellow teacher. Very approachable and willing to help. Based entirety on coursecompass. If you study you'll end up with at least a C.
Mr.Bitzer is AWESOME! I just checked my grade and end up with A in his class. He goes by pretty fast and there are actually lots of works and memorizing to do, but it's really straightforward class. Tests are every Fridays, and all the tests are accumulative. Overall, I recommend him. He's a great wonderful teacher!!
The class is really easy and he never check attendance. Be honest, I just appear when we have quiz, but I also get A. You can download tips online, so it is good to study by yourself.
Take this class if you want an A. His lectures are very clear and the tests is EXACTLY the same as the quiz and homework, so if you keep doing the quiz over and over, you'll do really good on the test.
He is great. His tests are based off the practice quizzes which make life so much easier. He is great at lecturing. He does his best to teach. I highly recommend taking his class.
Relaxed professor, which helps make the class better since Math is really not a fun subject at all. There will always be work to do, whether it be homework or quizzes (which are mostly for practice), and plenty of tests. Not actually that hard if you just put in the effort, even if you're not a math person.
He is one of the best and easy teacher I ever had. Math is one of my favorite subject and he made me love math more than I used to. Moreover, he is really friendly. You never get tired/bored of his lectures. Overall, he is an easy A teacher. I juz passed his class with an A and I am thankful to him for being such a superb teacher :)
He is the best teacher and a easy A :)
Not an easy A. If you are taking Bitzer then get ready to work hard. I was taking 14 units and most of my time was spent on studying stats. If you work hard you will surely get an A. Tests are cumulative.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. He is truly one of the best math professors. Explains well, no trick questions. Tests are very similar to quizzes which are very similar to HW. If you want to learn stats Bitzer is your best option.
Prof Bitzer is so nice and helpful the tests/quizzes/HW are all exactly the same. If you know how to do the hw you will forsure know how to do the quizzes and Tests there exactly the same questions. He also lets us take each test twice and he takes the best score of both. If you work hard its very easy to get 100% in the class. I highly recommend
His DE Class was ok. Tests weren't ridiculously hard. Think he's easier than Bradshaw. Tests are moderately difficult while the final was pretty hard. Nice guy and doable if you take it seriously.
his class is not easy if u r looking for an easy A! if u are trying to actually benefit and understand he is the perfect prof. very helpful! tests are accumulative and he goes backwards! u get 2 trials for each test since it accumulative! I would take him again!
Stats isnt as easy as we all thought. Bitzer teaches material backwards and stuff is just now making sense to me. Lot of memorizing, not rly understanding. Hw/quizzes/tests all on cpu. Cumulative tests,2 tries each,he takes best score. He's rly nice & willing to help but material is hard if you expect to just solve equations. STUDY&It will come 2 u
This guy is great! I had a "D" before the drop date and he told me to stick it out and I ended up passing with a "B"! Do all the HW, and get Cs on the test and do the Online quizzes and you will do fine! He curves at the end too! Also has a spreadsheet so you know where you stand all semester long! Really helpful teacher! TAKE HIM!!
This Teacher is the most unclear teacher i have ever come across. He talks and talks doesn't show how to do the problem unless its easy; than of course he will show you. Honestly, his whole idea that you get two chances on the tests and he takes the best score is nice. But all his questions are extremely hard. everything is cumulative from day one.
This teacher never helps you unless you beg for it. Also he explains trying to make it clear, but instead he makes it more confusing. If you do get it, it will only be for 5 to 10 mins then you get confused again. He takes too long to explain one little thing. Asks you questions when you ask for help. You have to figure it out on your own.
Its a math class, you should expect it to be extra time on your plate. If you go to his hours and actually practice the material you will get an A. He also let's you take ALL tests twice! Final included. Really nice and is lenient in pushing test dates back.
Bitzer is an excellent teacher, great guy and his lectures are interesting, but his tests are absolute bloodbaths. The tests take up two days and are cumulative. 23 of the class didn't survive his math 104 class. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. He is incredibly helpful and will do everything in his power to make sure you learn the concepts
i'm taking Bitzer this sem and I can surely say I like math now and it's all because of him. I used to HATE math, and come to think of it now, I feel like I used to hate math 'cause of the horrible teachers I've had before. Bitzer explains the lectures in the simplest way. Definitely taking him for Stats. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Grading: 3 cumulative two-day tests, 10 quizzes at the end of class, 5 take home Mathematica assignments, and the final. He curves tests. Tips: Know LaTeX and Mathematica beforehand (or pick it up quickly). Go to his office hours; he explains concepts more clearly there than in class. He's tough but wants you to succeed. Ask for help.
Professor Bitzer genuinely cares about his students and their success. You get two tries for each exam which are similar to the practice quizzes. His lectures are clear and he is approachable if you have any questions or need extra help. Math is not an easy subject for me and this professor helped me understand stats and build up my confidence!
Such a patient and helpful teacher! All homework, quizzes, and tests are online, so class was in a computer lab. He would lecture on the topic then have us try the homework and help if we had questions. The quizzes come from the homework questions and tests are just like the quizzes. You get multiple tries on everything! So glad I took his class.
You can only blame yourself if you get anything less than a B. He's a great teacher and really explains concepts in an easy to understand way. The quizzes (which are online & can be taken as many times as you want) are EXACTLY the test. On top of that, you have 2 days to take the test & can repeat each test up to 3 times. Absolutely recommend him.
If you put in the time and do the hw you will pass. Although this is a 5 unit course I would say its as hard as a 3 unit course because I took bio 103a, which is 4 units, and it is easily 5x harder than this class. The teacher is very nice and helpful and the concepts are easy to grasp, as long as you know algebra and can read you are good to go.
Prof Bitzer is a funny, kindhearted man. He lets you take everything multiple times and if you get the grade that you want on the first day, you don't have to come to class for the retake days. All of the homework can be completed in class the day of the lecture. Just pay attention and it will be an easy A. Wish I could take this class again.
The quizzes online are literally the exact questions on the test. If you study the quizzes, you'll get 90s on the test. On top of that, you have 2 days to take the test and multiple attempts each day (everything is online). I am horrible at math, but this professor made it easy and simple. Definitely recommend this class.
So I took DiffEQ with professor Bitzer and let me tell you now, he expects you to know a lot of the material. So you need to teach yourself on your own time heavily. I do know that this class subject is difficult but he is a harsh grader and expects his method of solving. He likes to nit pick at the smallest things with his grading. Ended with 9ppl
Bizer is a nice guy, but his class is really different. If you are REALLY good at math, choose him, you can learn a lot. If not, you will get lost really quickly and badly. He expects you to know MANY stuff, and you will need to do A LOT OF Mathematica and LaTex. This class is a completely test-based class, and the work load is A LOT and hard.
Proffesor Bitzer is an amazing teacher. The class is not tough if you put the time and effort into it. Make sure you do the practice tests as much as possible because they are the same as the actual test. You can retake them as much as 6 times in the two days you have these tests. You will know the material by the end of the semester.
Prof Bitzer is amazing, he wants to make sure you get the best possible grade & gives you many chances to acheive that. Attendence is not mandatory but I would not suggest skipping classes b/c you learn a lot in 1 day. Online quizes are not graded but you should do them for practice as they are the same as the tests. No hw so use that for practice!
Professor Bitzer is amazing. He gives you a chance that you can retake your exam by not more than 6 times, if you are not satisfied with your grade of exam. The question practices were same with exams. No grade of homework. Exam and final exam is on online website only. It's cool.
Steve Bitzer was one of the sweetest teacher on Ohlone College. He would usually care about his all of students! He was very awesome to help them for the feedback! I would recommend you to take her 151B class at Ohlone College. I expect that he will treat you so very well! That was why he was my favorite!
Best math teacher ever! Everything is done on mymathlab. His lectures are pretty fast, but if you don't understand he will slow down for you. He provides extra credit to be used on the tests if you complete the homework aside from the quizzes on mymathlab, which is awesome. Take him if you want an A!
Bitzer is a great teacher, he gave great examples in class, led you through problems, etc. He speaks loudly, does not have a monotone voice which made the class less boring. I also LOVE how he color coordinates within a problem to help visualize it better. The content was hard, as long as you practice problems and ask questions, you will be fine.
Mr Bitzer is awesome! All you need to do is come to class and pay attention. You learn something new everyday but hes good at explaining and breaking down the concept. Offers hw as extra credit for tests and goes over what to expect on the tests! Hes funny, caring and doesnt want anyone to fail. Take him if you ever get the chance!!
Professor Bitzer provides students with the information that is needed to be successful in the course. His class is straightforward and he gives you the chance to get your grade up through tests. The only advice is: study, don't slack, show up to class, and work on the homework and practice tests. You'll get an A if you put in the work.
Professor Bitzer made this Algebra 1 course very easy because he has great teaching skills. I hated math before I took this course and now I actually understand it. He taught in a fun way that actually gets you to learn. All of the HW counted as extra credit and went towards tests.
This was the last math class I have to take before I transfer and he made it extremely easy. If you put in the time and do the homework and practice test then you should be fine. You get 5 tries for each test and if you do not do well on them at first you are able to fix them during the final. I would take his class again.
Computer based class. The subject was pretty straight forward the way he explained it. For tests, there are 5 separate sections that can be taken 5 times in a span of 2 days. All of the test take some sections of the previous test so test aren't too difficult. Mr. Bitzer himself was a very caring teacher. Always answered questions and a nice guy :)
He gives good chances for students to get good grades. 80% of a test grade is the paper test and 20% is the online quizzes. Theres daily quizzes which are meant to give you a chance to bring your grade up so it makes class mandatory unless youre willing to sacrifice your grade. Those daily quizzes are 10-15% of your grade. Overall I recommend him
If you are taking Statistics definitely consider Mr. Bitzer. The class is graded solely by test, however you have 5 attempts to take each test. As long as you show up to class, take good notes, and utilize the practice test you'll pass the class. The work you do is done on the computer and your able to use Statcrunch (no need to memorize formulas).
Horrible class!!! Professor is good bit the way his class is set up is ridiculous!!!!! 50% quizzes and 50% final !!! Thats just horrible!! No extra credit nothing!!! And he makes you take one test 2 times so that he can take an average !!! So one quizz consisted of 3 tests so we had to take 6 quizzes over the course of 2 days! Dont take him!!!!!
Mr Bitzer is probably the best math teacher ive ever had. Hes not the typical plain dull and boring math teacher ive always gotten. hes funny and enthusiastic and chill (just dont cheat btw). He does an amazing job clearly explaining equations and how to solve problems. he'll go out of the way to make sure you succeed and understand the material.
Professor Bitzer is one of the best math professors at Ohlone! I have always been the type of person that isn' good in math and always end up failing. I have taken stats before with a different professor and ended up dropping out. However, I am retaking it right now with Professor Bitzer and he makes it so much easier!
Ive taken algebra 1 month so many times at Ohlone, I havent been able to pass at all, I started to think, maybe its me who just cant understand it. I started to avoid math classes at any costs, but I need it to transfer so I register for Steven Bitzers class. Great and caring professor!! Really makes sure you understand the concept! Trust me!
I highly recommend taking Professor Bitzer for math! I'm a person who hates math and struggles with it but Bitzer helps you understand the concept in an easy way. There's weekly quizzes usually one problem but you can work with a partner or ask him for help! Your grade is mainly based on the exams and you can retake them. JUST DON'T CHEAT.
Only grades quiz, practice tests and tests. If you listen and try to follow along you will do mediocre. Not very good at explaining or choosing words to explain. Teaching is quite messy. $70 < program online, mandatory. Gives out hw but is not graded. Burning lectures. Annoying voice.
Mr. Bitzer is by far the best math teacher Ive ever had. Ive never gotten higher than a D in any math course because its such a difficult subject for me but Mr. Bitzer explains things thoroughly & relates it to real world situations. He always encourages questions & going over things you dont understand.
This class does not work for everyone, but it is very simple. The entire class revolves around 200 math problems. Mr. Bitzer teaches us how to solve them, and the tests and quizzes only contain those questions (the exact format changes). In order to do well, you must take good notes and practice the questions, but there won't be any surprises.
Amazing teacher. He really cares about students and he is a super nice guy. Although his course is difficult, if you have any questions at all he will help you. Don't think it's an easy A. You have to work for it, but he will help you however he can.
I got RMP just to write about Bitzer! He is a great guy that genuinely cares about his students and their understanding of the material. The class structure is super straightforward, so it's easy to do well. The class material isn't easy, but as long as you put in the work (take good notes and ask questions in class!) you'll do great.
Prof. Bitzer makes math livable for folks who hate maths! Assignments are homework, pre tests, tests, post tests, and the final. Very generous with opportunities to improve your grades in assignments if you put in the work. TAKE NOTES ABOUT WHERE TO FIND THINGS IN STATCRUNCH! the better organized your notes are the easier you will find this class.
This professor is really nice and gives you multiple opportunities to improve your grade, I was failing this class earlier in the semester, however doing many make ups and homework's has risen my grade. Would def take again.
I didn't pass Mr. Bitzer's class this most recent semester, but that was completely on me. I realized that Mr. Bitzer's class was easy if you put the work in. His grading policy is very lenient and reasonable, and you have multiple chances to improve your grade in the class. I just wished I took better advantage of his amazing teaching skills.
Amazing lectures, very funny, and cares so much about the subject and his students. All his lectures can be found online too. The tests are open note and based off in class lecture problems, so take really good step by step notes for each problem. Don't slack on the homework, it's a lot and impacts your grade.
Professor Bitzer was great. His lectures are super clear and straight forward, he gets to the point super fast. If you are looking for a math class just to fulfill the math requirement, definitely take his class. This is a stats course, so you have to apply yourself, but as long as you have the drive to do well you'll be successful.
I was scared to take statistics and thought the class would be hard. But Mr. Bitzer is an amazing professor. He breaks down every concept and makes sure that everybody understands it. Material isn't too hard but there is a lot of work, as long as you put time and effort into the class you'll do great! Definitely one of my favorite teachers ever :)!
He's good at teaching the material. You will have to pay for the software which is around $80-100. Take pictures of the lecture board. He includes videos. He also provides notes, but you may not write on them. The practice quizzes as well as how the homework is set up by allowing multiple tries helps students understand the material better.
super hard professor. The workload is A LOT, get ready to always be working and needing to be ontop of things. if you're taking multiple other classes alongside this one FORGET IT. Overall he's an awesome guy I can tell but he's lecture are FAST PACED, if you're a slow learning this professor is not the one for you I had to withdraw from his class
Regardless of math skill, you definitely need to work for your grade. Since my class was hybrid about half of lectures were videos on Canvas. He's very thorough in his explanations and his class is straight forward. Most work and all our tests are done in StatCrunch which does a lot of math for us. I believe if you grind, you can pass his class. :)
Super sweet guy, you just have to try in his class
Amazing professor. All work is done online using Stat tools, not a lot of manual calculation. Course structured for student success. Failure = lack of effort. Almost all tests are done in classroom under supervision; quizzes are open note & neighbor. Questions for hw, tests, quizzes, final are IDENTICAL to the questions from his video lectures.
Professor Bitzer is a thorough math instructor who breaks down concepts clearly. While the coursework is substantial, if you put in the effort and utilize study tools like Unstuck study, you'll be well on your way to success. Definitely worth taking if you need the credit.
The class takes work, but not as much as it may seem at the beginning. Prof. Bitzer is very personable and is great with help individually. His lectures are clear and he makes it easy to understand the material. The work is done online, and he has lecture videos to go with each homework, which I'd suggest putting at x2 speed since they're long
Jumps straight into lecturing, if you have not taken a statistics course and passed, I would not recommend him. Difficult homework on first week
I have taken a stats course before and it was fairly simple. This semester I had enrolled in Mr. Bitzer's class and the work is a lot harder and difficult to understand. Mr. Bitzer (Stats-159-03) is more like biostatistics then intro to statistics. His chapter 1 is comparable to other professor's chapter 7.
This class was amazing, even though it's a math class. It's not very difficult, and the professor is a really caring person. His teaching is clear and easy to follow. When he shows examples, you can easily understand and ask questions. He also incorporates real-life situations into his lessons, making the material even clearer.
Idk why people are saying hes a hard professor. It's such an easy class. The tests are copy paste from the homework, so if you do the homework you will ace every test. On top of that, he drops the lowest 2 tests, and theres 5 tests, you only need to do well one 3/5 and they are so easy. Only issue is he gets very distracted when teaching.
Mr. Bitzer made statistics doable, his class is structured in a way where you have chances. Homework gives 2-3 chances per question. 1-3 chances per quiz/exam question. His quizzes/tests are the same as homework problems. Mr. Bitzer is also a really caring and thoughtful teacher if you really wanna learn. He's also hilarious and loves talking!
The class is organized and structured well. 99% of the work will be done on Pearson. If you don't understand the homework, he has lecture videos that the contains specific timestamps for each problem! The tests are exactly like the homework problems. The professor is also fun and approachable.
Easy to get good grade.
The lectures are simple to grasp as long as you stay focused—definitely one of the better professors I've had.
It's an easy A as long as you do your homework but his first exam teaching materials is equivalent to other prof's mid- end term exams. One thing I don't like about this prof is he talks too much that sometimes he even gets confused on how to explain the lecture. If his HW video starts at 3:00, I have to skip to 3:05 to get to the point.
He's a chill guy, very transparent grader. The homework questions are pretty much the exact same in the test. Just don't slip up on the discussion posts and finish your homework. Getting good grades on the homework=getting good grades on the test.
His class is not basic stats; but, if you have a decent background of math you should be fine. The professor is approachable and available for questions. His lectures are pretty straightforward and will clarify concepts if asked.
Exams make up the majority of the grade, but the exams are exactly like the homework, word for word. If you do every assignment, there's no way you don't get an A in the class. He is cool, accessible, and helpful guy but doesn't accept excuses under any circumstances so don't miss a test. Would absolutely take his class again.
Very caring and helpful professor. As long as you are willing to put a little bit of effort in, the class is very passable.
Mr. Bitzer is a seasoned professor. He teaches very well and assigns many practices and videos that will guide you through the homework and prepare you for tests. He is open to questions and provides many office hours to ask for help. Once you put in the effort, you will get the grades you deserve.
