Great Professor! Has graded worksheets online that help your grade if you've done the reading. Has good explanations for the different concepts and really likes to make sure the class understands the concepts through questions or group work.
Best class i have taken here with the best professor. He is really engaging and relatable. Also super cute and funny. Keeps you awake and engaged at 8 AM.
Dr. Buzinski is my favorite professor at UNC! His classes are a lot of work but he's really good at making the subject interesting and engaging so that you actually want to do the work! He's friendly and has a great class structure that places a lot of emphasis on interacting with the students rather than a 50 minute lecture. I highly recommend him
He's a pretty good professor. Probably not my favorite, but he's an approachable person. Definitely eye-candy and great to listen to, but sometimes I'd be a little confused at the concepts he would explain. We had probably 4 guest lecturers (3 TA's) which really influenced Test 2 badly for me (multiple perspectives). Overall, I'd recommend.
Awesome professor with interesting lectures. Read the book and do the worksheets and you'll do good on the exams. Two question quiz at the beginning of every class-easy points to boost your grade. The group project is the worst part of the class and was 17% of the grade. If there wasn't a group project, I would take another one of his classes.
Buzinski is a pretty funny guy, he makes the lectures enjoyable. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, definitely do all of them. Do not forget to complete his quizzes on Sakai, I missed two and my grade definitely hurt from that. He assigns one big project, it's pretty intense for the level of the class but not impossible to do well on it.
He is an awesome professor. There are many assignments, but they are really helpful. You will learn a lot throughout the semester.
LOVED him. Great professor and really made the material come to life and interesting.
He is a pretty helpful teacher. The class was interesting but wasn't enough to hold my attention that well. Lots of online assignments and beware new people taking his class: he doesn't give you hints for when stuff is due. A lot of group work and his big project is ridiculous. Make sure you pick a team that wants a great grade.
Huge group project. Exams contain very specific questions from reading and the reading is really long. Very likely to get bad grades on exams if haven't taken psychology in high school or haven't read textbook very very thoroughly which will take tons of time.
The exams are very lecture based. I might low key be in love with Buzinski because he is very cute and funny. His class is very interesting. The big group project is annoying but doable. I am only a first year, but I am almost 90% sure this is the easiest science class I will take at UNC. As long as you put in the work, you will be fine.
Dr. Buzinski is a very admirable professor. You can tell through his lectures that he cares to get to know his students and include them in the topics discussed. I would definitely take him again if he taught a higher level class that I needed for my degree. Highly recommend!
Lectures are entertaining. Dr. B is clearly passionate about what he is teaching. He's super chill, and has a great sense of humor. There is one semester long group project and 3 exams. The worksheets are on Sakai and based on textbook readings. Other than reading and doing the worksheets, and the group project, there's not a lot of work. Loved it!
Dr. Buzinski is genuinely one of the kindest professors at UNC. He really goes out of his way to make the material relatable. Class attendance is determined by a series of Mastery Check questions based on the readings, graded for completion- a pretty easy grade to get full credit on. Tests are fairly challenging if you don't study.
I love Buzinski!! Super interesting lectures (mainly because he's cute and funny sometimes), but the tests were pretty difficult. Compared to other PSYC101 classes, this one is definitely the hardest. There's a big group research project, but it will go well as long as you have a good group willing to put in the work.
Dr. B is absolutely amazing! If you go to class and take good notes on his lectures tests are a breeze, but be sure to study his slides. The group project is kinda annoying but if you really try it's not too bad.
Dr. B is absolutely amazing. He's funny, caring, his class is really engaging given that it was a 300-people class. You do need to read quite a bit for the class, but if you work beforehand, the workload is quite manageable. However, I personally do not know anyone who got an A in this class. I got a 93.4 and he wouldn't curve it.
My feelings are really mixed about Dr. Buzinski because he was a great teacher, but the huge group project was just terrible. Although he assigned it to give us experience, I think it was unreasonable for a 101 intro class. Taking this as a junior, I was overwhelmed by the project, so I can't imagine taking it as a freshman.
While the class wasn't horrible, I found it incredibly boring. We were assigned a group research project that was difficult considering most of us had not conducted research before. I dreaded going to class everyday, but we were let out early often and were given several extra credit opportunities.
Professor Buzinski was alright, but he was a former basketball player and he was kind of cocky about it. I also felt like he tried to be relatable to his students more often than he genuinely taught me new things. I definitely felt like I had to teach myself everything, and if you don't read the 40-50 page chapters every week, don't expect to pass.
Dr. Buzinski is by far the best teacher I've had in college - I'm a senior. He really wants to get to know his students and make sure they retain information from lectures to help them ace exams. He builds up their social and group working skills too by forcing a group project. He's really cute too so if you like eye candy and humor take his class
Buzinski is an amazing teacher. This was my first semester having him, and I can honestly say he is the best Psyc teacher. The only down fall is the group project that you have to do. Other than that the course work is fairly manageable. He supplies the book on sakai in PDF for the students. You will have to read to do the online modules.
Dr. B is the best! The class does require a lot of work (weekly worksheets, readings required, project worksheets every 2 weeks, quiz every class) but it's so worth it and really adds value and application to what you're learning. 10/10 would take again.
Dr. Buzinski is AMAZING!!! His lectures are engaging and funny and he makes you excited to come to class. Don't be scared of the group project-- you work on it over the course of the semester and it was VERY manageable. Tests are straightforward and pull mostly from lectures and a bit from the book. The class never stressed me out. LOVE BAEZINSKI
Good professor! Funny! Cute! Laid back. Attendance is mandatory for class and exams. Does not post complete lecture notes on Sakai. No study guides given for exams. Laptops not allowed for note-taking unless teacher approved. Reading the textbook is important for online quizzes. Overall really easy class, a bit boring, but super easy.
Dr. Buzinski is amazing, using relevant and hilarious examples in class. His powerpoints aren't just words, he uses pictures and models and simple animations sometimes. The tests are a little hard, but not in a way that's meant to trip you up, just study hard and you'll be good. Very engaging in class, awesome teaching style.
Buzinski is easily the best professor I've had here at UNC. He made the course super enjoyable and interesting; I was always excited to come to class and hear his lectures and stories. He really knows what he's doing and you can tell he loves the subject. I would highly recommend taking his class, you'll love the subject because he loves it.
Dr. Buzinski is my favorite professor I've had so far. Tests are very straight forward. There is a lot of reading, but the material is not boring so it's easy to get through. There is no unnecessary homework or busy work. He is such a funny and caring guy that makes the lectures entertaining and fulfilling.
Dr. B is a great lecturer and really keeps you interested. There was a semester long group project which was kind of annoying but he provided detailed instructions so it was very doable. He provided the pdf of the textbook for free.
I enjoyed Dr. Buzinski's class. I have little interest in social psych and took the class for a major requirement. As an 8am course I was thankful for Dr. Buzinski's enthusiasm for the subject and encouragement for participation. My one criticism of the class was the weighting of course material- homework "worksheets" & the project are worth a lot!
By far, the best lecturer I have ever had. Lectures are engaging and made relevant to students. Buzinski is a bomb speaker who is obviously passionate about what he's teaching. Decent amount of work but it is so worth it (not busy work and you learn a lot). Semester-long group project but you get ind. grades so its really not bad. Even fun :0
There is WAY too much work assigned for this class. It takes away from actually learning the material. He is a cool guy otherwise.
Buzinski moved an exam scheduled for 8AM on the day after Halloween and then cancelled class. That's all you need to know.
I absolutely adored social psychology with Dr. Buzinski this semester. I had the class for an 8 am, but I still always had the motivation to get up in the morning and never missed class. I enjoyed being there every morning, and I've never had so much fun in a class. It made me love being a psych major even more than I already did. I learned so much
Dr. B is great! His class is interesting and I loved coming to it. He does a good job of making the material interesting and engaging. The workload is definitely doable, with several individual projects and then a final group project, but they're all really straightforward. Read the textbook to help your grade, but he doesn't do pop quizzes
Lectures didn't seem that useful to me, which made having to go to class feel unnecessary. Information is really interesting and textbook is provided. Would really have liked this class more if it wasn't an 8am with lackluster lectures, mandatory attendance, and an easy but annoying group project.
Very fun and compassionate teacher who was very generous in extra credit opportunities and getting help for assignments. Even postponed an exam because it fell on the day after Halloween. As long as you attend class and do the work (which is very do-able) you should receive an A.
I really loved this class content and Dr. Buzinski is great! He's super passionate about social psychology and really funny which made the 8 AM start time very doable. There is a good amount of work and I found I had to study a lot for the exams to perform well, but I would definitely recommend the course.
Dr. B is hilarious and a nice professor to wake up to in the morning. He makes you work for your grade, but he's great at explaining the material. The tests were pretty hard (the first one caught me off guard) but as long as you take detailed notes on the lectures and study those (instead of the text) you should be fine. The group project was easy.
PSYC260 with Dr. Buzinski was honestly such a blast. I took it last semester and it was an 8am class, but I never missed it because I loved it so much and looked forward to waking up every morning and getting to go to lectures. As long as you studied, read the textbook, and showed up to class, the class wasn't difficult.
Dr. B is great! Lectures are awesome and you will look forward to going to class. He gives really good examples and you learn without even realizing it. A 94 is an A so you have to work a little harder, but overall it is not too difficult you just have to pay attention in class which is super easy to do. Take this class!
I absolutely adore Buzinski! Easily one of my favorite professors at UNC. While his class can be a little difficult, he's a fair grader, and he manages to make a 9AM class the highlight of my day. His group project is a little much, but I like how it gave me experience running original experiments. 10/10 we stan
Dr. B is one of the best professors I've had here at Carolina. This was my second time having him and although this class was harder than Psyc260, I found it much more interesting and he made the material so clear. The group project is semester long and sounds intimidating at first, but seeing it come together at the end is bittersweet. Sign up!
Dr. Buzinski is the perfect instructor for the Gil internship class. He was so helpful and really taught us how to make the most of our internship experience. He also taught us so much about professional development! I would definitely take another class with him.
Absolutely loved this class! Lots of discussion throughout class, and he's always making the information interesting, relevant, and funny. You need a 94 for an A, but all tests are non-cumulative, and there's very specific grading criteria and practice questions.
Dr. B is incredible! He's super funny and goes out of his way to make sure his students are comfortable with the material. I have taken two courses with him (PSYC 101 and 260) and both were great. There was one big project that took up a good chunk of time but the grading was lenient. Awesome professor, definitely take his classes!
Dr. Buzinski is the best professor at UNC bc he is the best lecturer. He speaks so well. He is very good at going over topics and he is so knowledgable on the subject matter. He cares so much and he makes the course content interesting! You can tell that he truly cares about his students. I couldnt speak more positively about Dr. B
Dr. B puts effort into making lecture engaging and relevant. He cares about his students and his humor makes class enjoyable. He incorporates discussion and activities, values diverse experiences, offers extra credit, and makes himself accessible outside of class. Noncumulative exams but still challenging. I recommend him for 260 & 566.
Buzinski is amazing. It's easy to get good grades in this class, he's funny, cares a ton about his students, will meet with you outside of class for a cup of coffee, loves UNC sports, is passionate about his job, and gives many extra credit options. TAKE HIS CLASSES.
He basically tests on what you talk about in class and he is good at explaining- the TAs are very helpful so the projects are not too bad. Very first project article reading scared me but it got way easier after that.
Love Buzinski! I took his class for SS1, and enjoyed his online lectures. His exams are very fair everything comes from the slides. The CTA and article review essays really help you understand the material. I will take him in fall or spring if I get the chance. 10/10 def recommend.
Buzinski did a rly good job keeping his class engaging and relevant. A textbook is used and it's definitely helpful to do the reading, but showing up to lectures is most important since his tests are pretty reflective of them--if you do the work you should do well. He's also super nice and overall I loved his class (even tho part of it was online)
Dr. B is amazing, one of the best at UNC. This semester (w COVID) he was a little disorganized but still very accommodating to students. The class is interesting and not too difficult. The final is just a third exam and there is a semester-long research project. He is funny, very knowledgable, and made this semester feel normal even through Zoom.
Professor B is very knowledgeable and incredibly well-respected. He's able to describe and explain concepts very well in an accessible manner. However, his grading criteria for projects can be vague and doesn't really give much direction unless you explicitly ask for it.
Dr. Buzinski is a great professor. He tries to make class interesting with his jokes and references, so it makes lectures interesting. He is very understanding and offer extensions when necessary. The class wasn't too much. There are weekly essays (min. 400 words). He offers lots of extra credit opportunities. Would recommend!
Dr. Buzinski's class was really well-structured and easy to keep up with. Everything was due on a certain day and built on everything else. Exams are based on lectures and quizzes are based on the readings. Lectures are engaging (he is incredibly funny) and the class has a manageable amount of work. Would highly recommend!
I loved this class. The only reason I didn't do better is because I had outside issues unrelated to his class. His lectures were funny. Even though the class was asynchronous, he made sure to meet before the test to review any questions you might have. Being online was very relaxing and he was always ready to move due dates for our benefit. :)
I loved Dr. B. He was such a cool guy and great to talk to outside of class as well. He really loves what he teaches and is super passionate. He is also pretty funny which helped having him at 9AM. His class wasn't too difficult but you def needed to know your stuff when it came exam time.
Dr. B is a cool dude but I wouldn't take his class unless you're okay with writing a weekly essay and reading the textbook (which was free!). The essays were low-stakes and not graded harshly at all, though. Overall, however, Dr. B is very relatable, funny, and laid-back. Tests are based on lectures, and weekly quizzes are based on textbook.
Dr. B is cool and kind, but his class was a lot of work (but interesting material). There was textbook reading, a 30 question quiz, a PPT lecture, an essay, and a 10 question timed quiz each week. He was willing to give extensions and accommodations if needed. Enjoyable class and a nice guy, but a lot of work!
I love Buzinski!
Hands down, Dr. B is the best professor I've had at UNC. He is so kind and understanding, and he made this class one of my favorites ever. There are weekly readings with questions, but all the info is on Quizlet. There's a group project and 3 total exams, but they aren't hard if you just watch the lectures (which are great btw).
Dr. B is the best professor I have ever had. He's funny, kind, and makes class interesting. PSYC260 does take some effort to do well, but if you just show up to class and take notes, you will do perfectly fine on exams. The class project can seem intimidating at first, but it becomes very easy. He also gives plenty of extra credit. I recommend him!
Dr. B is super kind and understanding. He moved deadlines back for us a few times, and he likes to start class off with a funny YouTube clip every day. The class itself is a lot of work, and A is set at 94. It's not impossible to get an A, but you will have to put extra time into this class.
One of the best professors at UNC! Dr. B has engaging lectures and is always super reasonable and flexible. There is a decent amount of work that goes into the class though- a semester long project, weekly chapter readings, weekly before class material quizzes, after class quizzes. There are 3 tests which are average but the final isn't cumulative.
Love Dr. B... I have now had him twice (260 & 566) and he is amazing. Take any class with him you can. He expects you to know your stuff when it comes to exam time but he prepares you well
I've had Buzinski for 2 courses (260 & 566) and he is hands-down my favorite professor at UNC. He is passionate about what he teaches and it translates into a great learning experience. I have learned the most from his classes and he makes every class fun and educational. Highly recommend!
I love Professor Buzinski! He is super nice and understanding with everything and is very quick with his emails. His class has a lot of work however it all helps with the course material and is not super time consuming. His lectures are always fun and not boring and they prepare you well for the exams.
Dr. Buzinski is an amazing teacher and a great person. If you have the chance, take any of his courses. PSYC260 had a lot of work but it wasn't really time consuming and most of it was easy. Seriously take this class if you're considering it
Dr. Buzinski is really amazing and caring professor. He is my favorite psychology professor in UNC. He is really funny and understanding. The work for PSYC260 is easy and the workload is acceptable. Exam is easy, you just need pay attention during his lectures and make some notes. I would definitely take his higher level psychology course again.
Fave class at UNC so far, both bc of Dr. B and because the material is so fascinating! This was by far one of the best structured courses I've ever taken. There is a good amount of work but it is easy to do well if you stay on track, and everything you learn is useful and applicable. Highly highly recommend!!
Professor Buzinski is amazing. Class is super fun, assignments are fair. He gives you the tools to prepare and do great and it isn't hard to do that, you just have to be willing to put in a little bit of work. I'll specifically looking to take more of his classes. I absolutely recommend Dr. B.
I loved Dr. Buzinski and the Gil Internship! He's so kind and personable and genuinely wants you to succeed.
Buzinski teaches a great class that he makes fun and interesting. Projects and participation are both easy if you put in any effort at all. He really wants you to succeed so don't be afraid to ask questions.
This was one of the best psychology classes that I've taken at UNC. It wasn't a lot of work compared to some others. There was one quiz per week based on readings and one assignment per week for our project which were always easy. A lot of your grade is made up of exams but they weren't hard if you studied at all. He also offers extra credit.
Dr. B is an amazing professor. If you ever get the chance to take one of his classes, I recommend you do it, even if you have to move around other classes. No cumulative final, bring a handwritten index card to each test, funny clip from the office at the start of the class. The work is a bit time consuming but easy and content is interesting.
Dr.B is clearly passionate about what he teaches and teaching in general! His lectures were long but interesting. His grading criteria was very clear, and the assignments were all very easy. On exams we were allowed to bring in an index card of notes, but if you looked over your notes you didn't need it.
Professor Buzinski is hands down one of the best professors at UNC! His lectures are really engaging and he does a good job of making content understandable. He is a very fair grader, offers extra credit opportunities, and has non-cumulative exams that you can do well on if you take notes and pay attention in class.
Buzinski is a great guy and he's a great teacher. He makes it clear that he respects and wants to help his students. highly recommend
Buzinski made this Triple-i great!! Super funny and engaging lectures and his segment of "How not to be Fooled or Fool Yourself" was by far the easiest and most comprehensible out of the three. Very interactive and his readings were always interesting.
Buzinski has mastered active learning methods and teaching in a way that helps you learn easily. His lectures are engaging, and he balances them with group activities. I was genuinely excited to wake up early and go to his class. You will love it.
Buzinski is the best. Had him for Triple-I which could've been a boring course but he made it so engaging. Great teacher who is so funny. Take notes in class because the presentations don't always include everything he says verbally. Definitely looking to take him in the future. He made me interested in psychology.
Prof. Buzinski was great. Out of the three professors of this Triple-I he was definitely my favorite. He found a way to make the class engaging, entertaining, and funny.
Dr. B was extremely nice and accommodating to his students. The tests aren't too hard and you get a notecard. It is a lot of work, there is a research poster and a final towards the end of class that can be stressful but he gives a lot of time in class to work on the project and ask questions.
Super engaging lectures and assigned readings. Helped make my Triple-I bearable.
Dr. B is the best! He is super funny, engaging, and you can tell he cares about his students. You need to take notes of what he says as the info on the slides weren't everything, but he makes lectures really interesting. Allows extra credit opportunities, time in class to work on projects, and a note card for exams. Couldn't recommend him enough!
Dr. B is the best and so funny! Super engaging lectures, extra credit opportunities, allowed for a note card on exams, and gave us time in class to work on our projects. You have to take good notes in class because the slides aren't all the material, but he makes it interesting and easy to understand. Couldn't recommend him more!
Attend class and you'll make an A
what a dude. such a pal. love 'em. Very nice guy and his lectures were very interesting.
I took a triple-i that professor Buzinski taught, and he was amazing. Any day that I walked in and he was teaching, I was genuinely excited. He is kind and so funny, and the topics he covered were always interesting. I will definitely look into taking some of his other classes he offers!
I always looked forward to class with professor Buzinski. His lectures are extremely entertaining and he is hilarious. His content was genuinely interesting and he used a lot of polls throughout class to gauge your understanding. He is very helpful during office hours and his slides made it easy to prepare for tests. I really enjoyed IDST133.
BEST professor I have ever had.
If you have the chance to take him, please do! He is extremely kind and his lectures are always entertaining. Class assignments and exams weren't too hard either. He is one of the best profs I've had at UNC
Dr. Buzinski was fantastic. Had chapter readings every week or so (along with an easy open-book quiz). Readings were a little boring at first but got more fun as the semester went on. Tests were fair + we were given a study guide. Lectures are important to attend. He's very friendly / approachable and I appreciate how interactive his classes were.
Semester long research project broken into reasonable amounts with very clear guidelines. Grading was fair with the exams not worth too much and you can have a note card for the exams. Mostly lectures and you answer poll questions but it's a pretty interesting and easy class. He is also very connected to research on campus and always open to help.
Dr. B is such an amazing professor who cares a lot about his students. He is such a funny guy and tries his best to get to know his students. He is my favorite professor ever.
This was my favorite class this semester and really solidified my choice to be a psych major! As a freshman I was nervous about taking a 200 level class, but I absolutely loved it and found it very reasonable! Dr. B is amazing and made me laugh in every lecture. He was also willing to speak with me about research and grad school! TAKE THIS CLASS!
Dr. B is one of the best professors this university has to offer. He is the most understanding person I've ever met. He truly cares about his students and wants them to do well in the class. Provides extra credit. Exams are very fair and comparable to worksheets/practice exams. All assignments come with thorough instructions.
Very funny, engaging, and kind.
Professor Buzinski is an engaging and accommodating instructor. His lectures are fun and informative, and he provides helpful resources like extra credit and note cards for exams. Though the workload can be demanding, unstuck AI proved to be a valuable study tool alongside the course materials.
Half of the course lectures were for lectures, other half were for project work. Super slow at getting grades back but all assignments were easy. Four exams, drop lowest score. Structure of class forces spaced studying, which makes exam prep easier later on. Can be flaky/slow over email, so get questions/requests in as early as you can. Nice guy.
He is absolutely amazing. Just take his course.
great professor super cool! i think if i went to class more often i would definitely have an A. not a hard class if you show up!
Professor Buzinski is an amazing teacher, and his lectures were super interesting. Grades are 3 exams, online learning quizzes, and a semester long project. The exams are straightforward; if you attend every class, you should do well. The course-long project is clear and approachable, broken up accross the semester. Overall, an enjoyable class!
