Lectures are great b/c they are short, simple & straight to the point. Leniant about the tardies...(b/c class started @ 5:30p.m. - rush hour) Test reviews are awesome. He basically tells you what is on the exam. If you study what he said, you will definately make an "A". The previous ratings weren't so good...maybe him gettin' married helped? lol

He's an AWESOME teacher. I can't complain about anything at all.

This is a great teacher.You will learn alot.Valuable information.I would take any class he offers just to absorb his knowledge. However, if you are not caucasian, BEWARE.

This guy was a mess! I agree w/ the other comments regarding how unprofessional and rude he is. I personally didn't think the course itself was too difficult, but the instructor himself was terrible!

He really knows his stuff. His exams are hard but he does give good reviews. Read the questions carefully. When he lectures you know what he is speaking about and that he enjoys the subjest matter.

EASY EASY EASY!!!! if you fail his class it is because you are lazy and don't pay attention. Yes he does go fast and is moody but for an EASY A i'm willing to put up with it!

Dr. Cohan is the greatest. I enjoyed his class. He is not rude. His personality is humorous. I will be taking him for the remainder of my science requirements. Student "AKA" Lazy. See you soon doc.

cohan was an excellent prof. If someone is upset over not doing well in his class, it is their fault. He is not moody and expects his students to work hard. He tells every class what he expects. If you don't listen to his advice or what his expectations are, then you deserve to fail. Evidently there are many students who are just bitter!!!!

Dr. Cohan has very high expectations. He has a low opinion of most students' intelligence. We got along great, but I already have a B.S. with high grades. He gives you the test question topics, then gets annoyed when people do badly. It seems to me his expectations are a little high for community college...

GET REAL PEOPLE!! THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD. TOOK HIM FOR A&P I&II ALSO. IF YOU HAVE A LOW OPINION OF COHAN IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU ARE A SLACKER AND DONT WANT TO WORK. HE GIVES TEST REVIEWS AND MAKES IT PERFECTLY CLEAR WHAT HE EXPECTS-IF YOU READ ALL OF THE COMMENTS-MOST ARE FROM BITTER STUDENTS THAT DID NOT DO WELL!!!!

dont let these dopes scare you off from taking Dr. C. He is the best. Promptly responds to emails and gives help. If you make less than a B in this class - you deserve it. EVERYONE should pass his class with a high grade. Gives excellent study guides - TAKE HIM YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!! he is the best prof at HCC

Give me a break. He is the greatest prof at HCC. If you fail his class or do poorly it will be your own fault. Name one other prof who gives out test reviews for lab exam and other exams. I took him A&P 1&2 and Micro. Get some balls and take him. Hes the BEST!!!!

When I first read the ratings I was a bit put off; but after going through Dr. Cohan's BIOL2402 class, I cannot understand why all the complaints. Grades fairly, he gives you a good review sheet prior to the exams. Out of all the tests I think there was maybe 3-4 'trick' questions. Gave 1 take home test. Quickly responds to emails. No complaints.

This class is one you have to study hard for, regardless. I just missed an A, but studied very hard. His tests are the more challenging part. He always has extra questions on his test. He always provides reviews before the exams, so for the most part, you know what he is looking for on the exam. Otherwise, it's an aweful lot of material.

This professor was fantastic! I really enjoyed the class. He was always available via email for any questions regarding the class or exams. The exam questions were straight from the reviews that he gave out. If you know the material, you will do well in the class.

Professor Cohan is a great instuctor. He gives you a review for each test you take. He also gives you one take home test. The tests are straight from the reivew. You must attend class to get credit. Of course you have to read the book and take notes. Thats with any other class you have to take.... I highly recommend this professor.

Excellent. I did not do well in the class because I did not have much time to study. He is very nice and he loves to teach. If you are willing to do the work, you will have no problem. I love Dr. Cohens class.

I took his Distance Education class so we only met for lab. You get credit for the lab by showing up and they never take more than an hour. You'll need the book and the online resources since there's no lecture, but he gives a study guide w/all the questions on it. Very knowledgeable and willing to help you.

Very straight-forward and no-nonsense but very fair exams. If you study his review questions and focus mostly on his lecture notes, you will do well. The textbook is very good for images and more details if you need more clarity but focus on his lecture notes. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE SAYS WILL BE ON THE TESTS! HE'S VERY HELPFUL!

Straightforward professor. Comes off kinda harsh at times but really not harsh at all. He knows his stuff and wants you to know it as well. During lab you really need to pay attention in order to get good notes. Do your lab assignment and you get to leave..Great teacher..give him respect and he will give you respect. Very fair with his grading

I have taken 3 classes (AP1, AP2 and Micro) with Dr. Cohan. The material is hard and you have to study and memorize. What I like is that he gives you a study guide before every test so there are no surprises on test. Also one exam you can do all at home for any easy grade. You have to do the work and your grade will fairly match your effort.

This professor is hard but tells you straight forward what will be on his exams. He gives you a review so there aren't any surprises. Like others complained about, he does not give you a curve. The grade you earned is the grade you get and that's the way it should be. Why give you extra points that you didn't earn?

I have to agree with the previous poster about his "condescending" attitude. He is not Mr. Warm-and-Fuzzy, and can definitely come off a harsh at times. Bottom line: this is a very easy class...especially for micro. He gives aa review to EVERY test (identical), lab is based on attend.,online notes, and you learn some very practical info. Take him.

Great Teacher! I have taken him for A&P1 (Fall 2010) also. Lecture notes are available through BB and he gives a review for tests, and 1 test is take home. I would not take any other teacher except him if that was possible. He doesn't put up with nonsense. He expects students to study,be on time, and care.

Dr Cohan was amazing. You do have to study and he does have certain expectations of his students. He does not tolerate students being late or just plain not showing up. Other than that, he is always willing and available to answer your questions. He gives reviews for the tests and he even provides chapter notes. All you have to do is study.

Dr. Cohan expect you to know the material in order for you to make good grade in class. He does very helpful give you review and study his note. He response very quick on e-mail If you read the chapter and study the review you will do great in class. I would recommended him from other professor

Be on time!, follow all instruction/rules, mind your Ps & Qs; and study HIS notes thoroughly - and you'll be fine. I took online 2nd start/ labs on sat. It was great & convenient!! Labs help you so don't miss! Pay attention to Qs u miss when u review tests. Overall - no stress class / just study study for tests. **Lab practical is challenging ***

Dr Cohan is a wonderful Professor.I made all A's in my A&P1& 2 and Microbiology. You just have to know what you are doing in his class.He gives reviews, but read your textbook as well because he can be tricky with his Exams questions as well. He responds to emails quick. I will recommend him.

Took him for A&P 1 and 2. I was hoping to take him for Micro but had another class conflict. Gives notes for each chapter of the book and gives reviews for each test. And his tests are pretty much the same questions. Lab test is pretty difficult though, every question is fill in the blank. His class takes work but if you study, you should do well.

I took Microbiology the first half of the summer. I loved the prof and loved the class. DO THE REVIEWS, it is almost the same as the test. Final is easy. Labs are completion grade, so show up. He makes this class interesting and touches on a lot of things for those going into the medical field. He was a doctor himself. Easy A, must take!

Took him for Microbiology. Book is rarely used. 95% of notes come from blackboard just print them. Labs are a piece of cake just do them. Tests are the same as review so do the darn review! Even the final is the same as review. He can be rude so watch out, he hates disruptive students. When I took him he was nice to me but he made some girl cry.

Cohan is gret! i am usually an a-b student, and everone is always so scared of this class so i was too! i found a good study buddy and did great! he gives reviews that are almost exactly like the test! doesn't waste time either, classes are rarely over an hour long, and he is always ready to answer questions!you have to buy a book and study!

Professor is an MD and knows what he is talking about. The course is very difficult but he tells you exactly what you need to learn. If you do the work

Great teacher. Knows what he is talking about; he is a MD. Make's class very interesting and gives good examples. Go to class, pay attention, study reviews and you'll make it just fine.

He is a really great professor, is very hard but he tells you exactly what you study. I messed it up, but you should just know study reviews. For the final make sure you are familiar with the take home exam.

I enjoyed my A&P class with Dr. Cohan. It was a hybrid class so very little lecture and lots of independent study. His class notes were exactly the information on his exams. Show up to get 100% on labs. Follow the study guide, but also study the opposite answers too like, "what is hydrolysis" but test will ask about dehydration synthesis.

Great Prof! super nice. knows his stuff. straight forward grading. 4 tests, multiple choice. his notes are his tests and his review is straight forward. study that and you're good to go on test day.

The BEST Microbiology Professor, great lectures. Everything you need to pass the class is in his notes that he gives you. Learned so much, he relates what we are learning with real life examples. I would take him for all of my classes if I could. Class is based on only 3 exams and the final.

He is a very experienced professor, just pay attention in class, and make sure always study the reviews he provides for the tests.

A and P is generally a challenging subject but he does his best to help his students. There is no extra credit opportunity but if you work hard its and easy A. take his notes and his exam reviews seriously. Everything on the review comes in the exam. Only buy a text book if you wanna know more. His notes may be the best for his class. take him

Great prof for A&P. Goes over and over til you get it. If you act like you care and ask questions he'll make sure you get it. Tests come right from the study guides. Such a nice guy who can explain things clearly and doesn't expect you to come into class already an expert.

BIOL 2101 is not an easy course, he showed pictures of what he lectured about and if you had any questions he would help you understand the material. If you study over the reviews he gives out before a test you should be fine, everything in the reviews appear in the exams. Would recommend to take him as your professor.
