Had for Anatomy and Phisiology, great class, has a funny sense of humor. Really clear and concise with lecture material. Test were a good measure of knowlegde. Really enjoyed the class

Great teacher, escellent sense of humor!
He is an awesome teacher. He knows what he is talking about and loves what he teaches. He is super funny, and makes class interesting. Go to class and take thorough notes. Don't expect to study for an hour and pass.
Had him summer of 2004. Lab practical came up way too quick. Calls on people from index cards. I recommend taking a class taught by him.
Awesome. Everyone is right when they say to study! HE's excellent.

Made the class very fun and easy to understand. Great sense of humor and always willing to help!
Very, very good teacher. Knows the topic and gets it understood, sticks with the material, gets class to participate. Fair minded, works with students very well. Tough course, but it's always clear what you need to be studying. I'd choose his class over any of the others teaching Anatomy & Physiology.
Poor grader.
Excellent teacher! Really enjoyed the class and learned alot. Concentrates on things you really need to know and skips the other stuff.
Teaches the material so that you can relate it to life. Can be very entertaining. He likes to call on students (keeps attendance on cards) and has nasty oral quizzes (nothing written down). Both of these things can be very intimidating. Most of the tests are pretty fair. Sometimes can write very difficult test questions. I give him a B.
He is very rude and appearance to want to put students down. He's class is okay though and the tests are pretty easy as long as you study of the book and his notes. What I liked about his lectures are that he includes everyone and knows his material very well.
He made anatomy fun, always kept us engaged in class. Had surprise quizzes that kept us on our toes. He was very fair in grading, too. Most inspirational prof at RCTC!
Very good instuctor, teaches the material well. I had him in the summer, so we went through the material fast. Some of his test questions can be very tricky. Overall I really enjoyed him. If you study, study, study you will do fine. I would take him again.
He is really cool
He is a good teacher, very informative.. and can answer pretty much any question you have for him.. loved his sense of humor even though its kind of a dry one, hes pretty entertaining some days
Mr. Cole is awesome. Reallly puts things into perspective. Tests can be tricky, but that makes you learn. I WOULD DEFINITELY recommend him for this class.
His class online is a nightmare. This is a basic course for biology. Why would we need to memorize "Medical Terms?" Horrible, horrible, horrible....STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM!
he's class is intereting. but he is hard teacher. you have to study study study for it. i do not like this kind of teacher. i think there will have some one better, choose some one else. i will never take his class again.
He was a really good teacher. He really made everything easy to understand and he was always willing to help and answer questions. He can be a little intimidating, he has note cards and calls on people during lecture. But the only thing you have to study are your notes he make it really easy for you! I would definitely recommend him!
LOVED IT! exams are all notes Write down EVERYTHING that he writes down, if you study that, you'll get an A! dont really use book, but he points out good pictures from it 2help you understand. He is funny guy and and makes class fun. He calls out random names. You can respond as simple as "I Dont Know". Its not bad at all. I HIghly recommend him!
Not the easiest guy on the block. But Good. Easy to follow, clear and fun. If he writes it on the board, write it down and study it. Tests are tough but fair - you gotta study. And he likes his pop-quizes. I'd take any class of his!
If you come to class, copy his notes off the blackboard and study them, you will have no trouble getting an "A". He is fun as well. I would love to take another class with him at any point.
Cole was great!!! He let you know exactly what he expected the first day. He was honest and to the point. He mad us laugh every day. He really explained the material so you would understand it. I wish I could take another class with him next semester! I would recommend him to anyone!!!
I have taken this class online. I would have liked to take the class in the classroom b/c I don't feel like I have learned as much as I would have liked to. His tests are really hard, but other than that, the class seems okay.
I had Cole for lab. He was very knowledgeable about the topic and helpful with questions. You can tell he is passionate about biology and teaching. He has a sense of humor and keeps the class fun.
Oral Quizzes in lab are very hard. Study often. Dont memorize where organ/bones are located, remember what they look like. Nice guy, hard teacher. He knows what he wants you to learn, and will tell you what info you should put emphasis on and the info what not to stress out about.
Mr. Cole is very funny & makes class interesting. A very nice guy; straight up and to the point. You don't need to read your book because all of his tests come from his notes, so attend lecture & take notes. I didn't study enough so I didn't do well, so STUDY! Very challenging Professor & likes to throw pop quizzes at you, notes are unorganized.
Great teacher but HARD class! You have to study... a lot! He tests from his notes so take good ones and study them frequently!
This is a very tough class but Mr. Cole makes it interesting. If you don't put in the hours to study you will fail. You don't need the book as almost the entire grade is test based. Mr. Cole comes off like a tough guy but really he is very nice and willing to work with you within reason. I would recommend him for those willing to study hard.
Cole is a hard but good teacher. I have had two online classes with him. He is clear in his expectations and just expects you to study and know the concepts; not just definitions. The tests are not easy by any means. He is helpful and very knowledgeable. I would recommend him.
Tough, but fair and informative. Calls on random students in class, gives occasional pop quizzes, and grades spelling and *pronunciation* too. That said, he always covers all the material that will be on the test, and is clear, knowledgeable, and funny. This review might make him sound scary but I do think he is the best anatomy instructor at RCTC.
Hard grader, clear expectations, fast pace. you will work hard, you will learn a lot, he test over exactly what he lectures on. He is fair. I would take another class with him.
Great teacher! Clear explanations of material! Study the notes often and you will do well!
This class was taught with reasonable and well defined objectives. Testing is entirely based upon notes given in class. Lectures are clear and very enjoyable. Not an easy class, but it is very possible to get a good grade if energy is invested. Highly recommended.
Cole was a fantastic instructor. The first class he laid everything on the table and told everyone exactly what to expect. He seemed scary at first but study hard and consistently and you'll do fine. He presented the material very clearly which made the quizzes and tests easy to study for (however the tests were still difficult). Highly recommend.
Steven Cole is by far the best instructor that I have had. He was very clear about what expected of you. He is old school so you will need to take notes. If you take notes, you will likely not even open up your book. Everything he covers in class is on the test.
Mr. Cole is the best teacher I have ever had! Make sure to take notes of everything that he writes on the board and study that and you will do amazing! He makes the content really clear and easy to understand. Just study study study those notes! Highly recommend! Get a set of A&P flash cards to study for lab and that will help a ton! :)
Steven is one of the best teachers I've ever taken. He pretends to be very intimidating at the beginning when really he is hilarious and will teach you everything you need to know in a helpful manner in order to make sure you succeed. Definitely recommend.
he tells you want to expect and how to expect it. STUDY STUDY STUDY. know all the names and spell them correctly. comes off as a hardball but he's nice... but not funny, i dont know why everyone thinks hes' funny.
He is one of the nicest people at RCTC. The way he teaches made me learn and retain. I would take him again.
Steven Cole is the best Biology teacher at RCTC period! I ok both my A&P classes with him. He tells you how it is from the start, and if you don't e it he invites you to leave! I know how to spell and recognize everything in the human body because of him. He is also very helpful if you ask for it :)
Study your notes and you will do well in the class. He tells you at the beginning what to expect. Tells you the 10 reasons not to take him. Even through all this he is still the best A & P professor at RCTC
Online A&P Fall 2013. I disliked the video lectures and felt sorry for "Josh". If I wanted lectures I'd have taken a land based course. With that said, take notes verbatim and study- no surprises. Anyone who says the tests are hard simply did not prepare. Many questions were right from the text exercises! Online dissection tool is awesome and fun.
This Teacher purposely won't grade ANY of your assignments that could help you study till after you take an exam! Sadly you will not know you got something wrong till after a bunch of graded assignments and tests = big drop in grades because you didn't know any better. This is a "weed out" class. Take this coarse by this teacher at your own risk!
Mr. Cole was by far the best RCTC professor I have had - the class is very hard and will take a lot of work. He is very willing to help go back over information you find unclear. He is straight forward with his expectations and you will have no surprises. My main advice: STUDY YOUR NOTES!
Mr. Cole was a great teacher. He was very upfront in the beginning of class telling us that we would have pop quizzes and that he would call on us in class. I personally like this way of teaching because it helps you come to class prepared and you are better off leaving the class knowing something instead of leaving clueless. He's a great teacher.
Class is super easy if you read your book, and study. Does not assign much homework. Give quizzes and exams. Get ready to study your material to get a good grade!
Mr. Cole comes off as really intimidating, but is such a great teacher. I've learned more from him than every AP teacher combined throughout the years. he's very helpful if you have questions. If you don't study, you won't do well; the same goes for skipping class. He makes things interesting, and is pretty funny too.
Delayed grading. Lots of video lectures. Not a solid syllabus, made scheduling for study and exams difficult.
Steve is a great instructor! He is very clear on what will be expected of you through out his course. The grade you receive will depend on the amount of work you put in. He does a wonderful job of breaking everything down so that it is easy to understand. One of the best at what he does!!
Anything he writes on the white board, take as notes. It's all material you'll be tested on. Review your notes before a test and you're looking at an A. Simple.
Great teacher! Don't skip lectures and labs because you'll miss out on important info! Is very straight forward with his expectations. Study off from the notes he provides during lecture and you'll be fine. Tough professor, but there's a reasoning behind his teaching!
Excellent professor that focuses a lot on the connections between different systems. His tests are straight from lecture. Take good notes and study those for exams. Use textbook mostly for diagrams but not understanding.
Take this class if you want an easy A. Show up to class, take notes on the lectures, and study for 20 minutes a day, you'll get an A. It was kind of ridiculous how easy this course was. I didn't actually learn much, a lot of it was review from other classes I have taken.
Great teacher, really enjoys what he teaches. Difficult class and requires a lot of studying. Exams are difficult but fair. Write down anything he puts on the board as it will be on the exam. If you show up to class and work hard, you will do fine.
Cole is an amazing instructor. He really cares for you as a person and not just his student. He also is very understanding even if he doesn't seem like it. Don't be fooled by what he says the first day of class the 10 reasons to not take him. His teaching style is amazing because it will stick with you forever, you will actually learn.
He was the best teacher I have taken at this school and I would recommend him! He is very helpful and helps you understand the material. His lectures can get confusing but he is always willing to help clear it up.
Amazing prof! Very lecture heavy, but he finds a way to make it fun.
Mr. Cole is by far one of the best teachers I've had! He's funny and helps you understand lecture in a easy way! I can't say this often about other professors but I look forward to going to his class he makes it interesting! Very caring, study your notes and you'll do great!
Great class
Mr. Cole was my instructor for AP 1 and am taking him again. Doesn't use power point and expects you to write own notes. Dont just copy what he writes on white board, but write notes on context of points. Only used textbook as reference when studying. He trys to relate point to real life situations. Great professor!!!
Mr. Cole will not test you on what he doesn't say in lecture. Dont think you can skip as 1 lecture may have 3 chapters covered and 3 real life situations you need for test. Doesn't use PowerPoint so take notes. Dont just copy what he writes on white board but add context or will be lost studying. Only used text as reference for my AP1 course.
Cole is very knowledgeable but his class was pretty difficult for just a general class. We took exams and lab exams over 3-4 chapters at a time. And most times the lab and lecture exams would overlap so we would be studying material for more than 4 chapters at a time! His exams have almost nothing that he mentions in his lectures. :(
Professor Cole honestly was a godsend. Ive taken this class at 2 other universities, never really getting the grade I tried for and never really understanding the material, and he made it so simple. He wants his students to succeed so he explains things in many different ways for everyone. FYI: I used almost a 1000 flashcards for this class.
Mr Cole is one of the best teachers I have had. He knows his material and makes it easier to learn with his examples relating to everyday life. The lecture exams are literally based on what he writes on the whiteboard- no PowerPoints. I did not have to use my text book for the majority of the class. Attendance is mandatory, but he makes it fun.
The class is fairly easy. You have to study. He does expect you to study the material on your own. There is not a lot of homework, but a lot of test and quizzes which is where your grade comes from. The lectures are boring, but he gives a lot of info within them that will be on a quiz or test.
Steve is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is such a friendly and caring guy and really knows what he is doing. We did have a textbook but I never needed to use it since he did a great job at explaining. All the lecture exams are based on what he writes on the white board, so you will not want to skip or miss lecture. He makes lab fun!
One of the best science professors I've ever had, I had to retake this course before with another professor on campus, but with Steve Cole's lectures, the material was really easy to understand. You do have to really study for the lab exams but that's just like with any other class.
I was told by prof. to focus on lecture material. I studied hard & got C's/B's on exams. his lectures provide info. in very simple terms then the exams ask very sophisticated questions in comparison. I found several errors in study material. The class average was a C and no accountability for it from the professor. Would not recommend him.
Worst professor I've ever had. He Is very rude and doesn't know how to speak with students. He goes at a fast pace even though nobody understands what he's saying. He does not take his students thoughts into consideration and he is just overall rude. Personally I do not recommend Steven Cole especially if you cannot keep up with fast pace teachers.
Steven Cole was a great professor for my learning. His lectures can tend to add up for each lecture exam but his online lectures are key to success in the class. He is always willing to answer any questions you may have. He just asks that you take the time to study and you will do just fine in his course.
Took this class because I heard he was a great teacher. Not gonna lie he is, but I prefer others to take it in person than online. He barely answer emails, so he'll be hard to reach. Most of your grades comes from the quizzes and exams. He gives no extra credit and lectures are hard for no reason. Tried my best and studied, but still got C's.
Steven Cole has been my favorite teacher in high school. His class was super difficult, but he made us feel compelled to do well in his class. He is clear on what will be on tests and how to study, and there is a large amount of material open to us. He was also very funny, and there wasn't a single moment where I zoned out in any of his classes.
Best science prof I have ever had. But if you cant keep up with afast pace then he is just not for you. Keeps your feet on fire with weekly quizzes, make sure you watch every lecture of his and take very good notes and you will secure an A, utilize the science tutoring center bc it will help with labs exams other than that he only brings up what he
He does overlap his tests. You will be studying for a lab exam and a lecture exam that covers over 4 chapters. The final comprehensive exam and last lab exam are on the same day. If you spell the term wrong the whole answer is wrong. He says his tests are based all on his lectures when very little of his lectures content is on the tests.
I would say he is the best anatomy professor at RCTC right now. Compared to the other professor, his lectures are more clear and everything on there is on the test, If you studied his tests make sense and are easy. It's hard not gonna lie, but this is anatomy people. His practice lab quizzes are Hella helpful. Take lab in-person and lecture online
Do the practice quizzes! Lectures are informative and what is in them is on the lecture exams, so be sure to pay attention. They can get long, but good.
Professor Cole taught my A&P 1 class online. His Lecture exam questions are pulled mostly from lectures and a little from chapter reading. Lab exams are difficult especially for muscles/bones exam and cardiovascular. He is very straight forward and answers emails quickly.Little homework. It is online so the work you put in is the grade you get out.
I took Anatomy and Physiology I and II with Professor Cole. As long as I completed the homework and assignments for both lab and lecture, everything went great. For lectures, I took notes from his weekly video lectures. For the lab, he provided self-assessment quizzes with unlimited attempts, and I got excellent grades in both.
I took both AP I & II with Professor Cole. I definitely recommend him. Just make sure to take notes from his weekly video lectures and keep the notes for the final exam. For the lab, the professor provided self-assessment quizzes with unlimited attempts. I also completed all the lab assignments on McGraw Hill Connect.
I retook this class in the summer I had a B in his class I took every exam and did all my connect assignments but in the last week I got sick and I didn't get chance to to take my last lab exam. I sent him an email regarding this and he said no. Mind you I was two points away from 80% and he didn't let me retake it. This heavily affected my gpa
never again will i ever take anatomy with this professor. I understand anatomy is a hard class n it takes time but this professor makes it so unbelievably difficult. first you have an exam every single week almost no other work.almost all of the exams I've took half of exams are not in lectures n r nowhere to be found. u must learn all urself
I had a 97 in the class and 3/4 labs I had gotten a high A. For my last lab I made a mistake of not putting left or right. I emailed it right away. But he would not give me half credit. Which ended up tanking my grade. For his lab exams, spelling does count. The final is comprehensive.
Very strict on grading and deadlines. Weird with how he sets up his class and he's not organized. Barely any homework at all but lots of lectures and big assignments.
He states that his lectures correlate to the exams, but they do not, as well as extremely outdated and difficult to follow. The assignments are all on an online book you need to purchase; they are mostly easy & fast to complete. There is usually an exam, along with a few assignments every week to complete.
