Dr. Coy is not vague. He gives very clear handouts with the requirements of his assignments. He is a nice guy and very fair. His classes fill up quickly. As for the red ink, he gives guidance to help you perform better.

I would take him again. Friendly, considerate, reasonable.

Hard teacher, but then again so are all the QDM teachers. It is a very hard subject.He is best of the available. He will help you with anything! He even takes time out of his own life. If you can't write a paper you should expect to have it marked up.

Excellent professor! No joke this class is HARD. Do not miss a class, asks lots of questions for clarification, do all of the homework and assigned cases, and form a committed study group. Do all of the above and you're pratically guaranteed an A.

Takes his job WAY too serious. Not only does he fly by the chapters but if you don't understand, he tells you to read the book. Did NOT care for his power point slides and he goes out of his way making the cases complicated.

It's a very hard professor to take you need to keep up wiht the homework or you will be lost. He gives a two exams and a final study very hard. He is a nice instructor

The best professor that I have ever had, by far. He takes the concepts and breaks it down in an digestable fashion. He finds common ground between the subject matter and the student. (in my case, cars.) Very laid back and available for questions.

Dr. Coy is THE best professor for QDM. I was intimidated before taking this class but he put that to ease. He is a very fair professor who takes the time out to make sure you understand. BUT when it comes down to the cases you have to stay on top. He will provide some hints to help but keep up.

He is a very hard with too much time on his hands. Team oriented research paper is 12-15 pages, MLA format, Proposal paper and rough draft with paper. He is very helpful with meeting for office hours. He grades papers tough and could probably teach English. Too many web ct quizes and TOO MUCH WORK.

QDM is a hard class but Coy makes it easy to understand. He has slides for all chapters which are awsome. You have homework like all other math class but u don't turn them in for a grade. Cases are long but if you understand it doesn't take long to do. I would definetly take him again.

The people who are complaining must be lazy. I took QDM online (it is VERY difficult to take online!), but he was always available for questions. If you dont keep up with the online homework, quizzes, etc. you will fall behind within DAYS! Just sack up and DO IT! Dr. Coy is a great teacher.

Those who said he assigns countless hrs of hw are out of their minds! Dr. Coy is awesome & this class is really over-rated. The point of the HW is to help you better understand the material (it's not graded), but if u don't do it, then ur guaranteed not to do well. The class is not hard at all.

Dr. Coy is the best teacher I have ever taken. I dislike math, but his QDM class was so much fun. For those of you that do not do homework and don't read before class, you will suffer. You either learn it or you don't. The class is hard, but you can pass if and only if you do the homework.

He does good lectures. He tries to make sure everyone understands the work. Be sure to do the home work. His test are 4 questions and they reflect the homework. His is a very good professor. Even though I could have done better, it was my fault not his.

This class is a lot of work but not difficult or impossible. You must be able to make interesting presentations and there are only 2 tests so u better do well on both. Teacher wants to see you do well, though, so just make sure u aren't taking 2 tough classes at the same time or you will be sorry...would take again.

Explains concept very well. Go to class and do the suggested homework and you should do great!! Time consuming but very similar to tests.

The subject material is hard but he is not hard. He does a great job in explaining and also offers extra help if you need. Can't ask for a better professor for QDM.

Dr Coy makes QDM challenging but also keeps it interesting. There is a lot to learn in his class if you are willing to put in the hours studying. Do the homework (twice) and go over his slides and you'll do fine in his class. Good teacher.

I took this class online. I would only suggest taking it online if you fully understood Stats since it builds from that. Dr Coy gives bonuses everyweek where he gives extra credit. Weekly quizes which are from the homework/notes. 2 group projects which are not easy. Easy if you study, hard if you dont. He does not curve.

COY is the BEST professor I have ever had. All those low scores are from students who don't put the time and effort into studying. He gives you more than enough examples and HW probs to gear you up for the tests. He's not easy, and if your a lazy your going to FAIL. The key to his class is GOING to class and doing all your HW. This course is like a camping trip w/ total strangers. The weather turned bad, the counselor told us to take down tents so as not to blow away, get ripped up or cause injury. We had to hunker down with others we didn't know, cling together, pray (study) a lot. After the trip, the people we didn't know - we'll never forget.

It's not an easy class, but he knows how to explain the material and get you interested. The homeworks will help you study for the exams, make sure you take good notes, and don't miss class! He is the best professor I have ever taken, and the class is very interesting. I would take him again if I had the opportunity.

He is an awesome teacher, explains the material in details, will take the time out to help out, answers questions, excellent personality, BUT you have to do your homework in order to even consider passing this class. It is very difficult. I'm an average B student, and I'm doing everything possible to earn a C. One disadvantage...WAY TOO MUCH WORK!!

First time I took this class I had to drop it. I decided to take Coy again because he was extremely helpful. The subject is hard but he will do his best to explain it to you. Bottom line if you skip class a lot then don't even sign up for the class. You have to come to get the concepts.

Great teacher! The class is hard and you do have to study and do the homework that will make a huge difference on how you do on the test.

I took this class online and Dr. Coy is very helpfull in explaining anything you are having trouble with. Classmates are also helpfull. This class requires alot of time and you Must do all homework and participate in dicussions. Dr. Coy is a real nice teacher. He is clear about what he wants on his assignments. I do have to admit that the class is tough, but he made it alright. Your grade is based on group assignments, homework (occasionally), tests, participation and attendance. So it's not just based on exam grades (that is what saved me!) Good Luck!

Had him for quality management. Lots of work for class, homework almost everyday. Assigned readings & questions to turn in. Prepare for lots of work. But gives 10 pts curve on midterm & final.

I love Mr. Coy.. I learned so much in this class, but I do not recommend that you take his class if you're a full time student because this class requires so much time, work and effort that you will probably end up sacrifing your other classes to be able to finish all of the assignments on time for this class. This is not an easy class but Dr Coy can really explain it well. You will have to work in order to get the grade. 3 group projects and I had a good group. Ask, ask, ask questions and make sure you understand material. Do homework problems and do well on quizzes and group work, and you will be fine. Two test so study, study, study.

QDM is a tough class, Dr.Coy at least makes it liveable.Get in a good group,group projects are key to getting the grade you want.Do ALL of the homework in order to prepare for tests/quizzes.Two tests during the semester, both are doozies, do the homework to get the grade you want.He answers questions and his explanations are always very clear.

Took a quality mgt class, the cases and lectures he presents, sync simultaneously and gives a thorough understanding of the subject. Complemented with his engaging discussions of the subject with students. You will read a lot in his courses but they are worth the investment.

The class is very hard itself! but he is a great teacher! He goes out of his way to explain things. I studyied everyday for this class and made a B! It was very tough but you learn a lot. If you have a busy schedule and want a easy class dont take him! it is a MUST to study for him

I took MGT3332 online, which I would not suggest unless you are self-driven and understand stats really well. He has discussions which are bonus points on your final grade. 3 tests, open book, only on Friday nights. 6 quizzes, open book, only open on Friday nights. 2 group projects. Overall, a good teacher, but the medium can make it hard.

Dr. Coy is helpful as long as you show interest in wanting to learn the material. This class is hard, but it can be done. I took this class online and made a "A," but I recommend taking this class in person because it is VERY HARD. A very demanding class with assignments due practically everyday. If you can, do NOT take any other classes with it.

Do aLL of the assigned homework. Quizzes are conceptual (T/F and MC) taken directly from the PPT slides and textbook. The discussion questions (bonus points)are an EXCELLENT review for what will be on the exams. Do ALL of the discussion questions and solve ALL of the exam review problems and you will be ready for the exams.

The class is really difficult but Dr. Coy makes it interesting. He is really helpful, always replies to emails. Cares about students and wants everyone to pass the class. Took the class online and received a good grade. You will learn a lot with him. Take him! Best QDM professor at UHD.

Excellent Instructor who cares about teaching. Exams are based on discussion questions, quizzes, and PowerPoints. If you do all assignments you should be ready to make an A on exams. Time consuming, but very fair. Would take him again.

Best Prof at UHD. I wished all profs were as caring as he was. No homework to turn in but there was 10 quiz. Lowest one was dropped. All quiz grades adds up to an exam grade. All Quizzes were basic concepts of the chapters. Exams were not too bad - he does allow a cheat sheet. Projects - find a GOOD TEAM!!

Dr Coy is the best teacher I've had at UHD. He's insightful, challenging, and extremely helpful. He cares about your grade if you do. I'm very glad I had the experience of being his student; my business experience expanded exponentially. (say that three times fast)

Got an A online in the summer. I went in knowing the class was really hard, and it was. There is SO much material and reading. Dr. Coy was SO helpful, always answered questions quickly and gave lots of feedback. He is the best online prof I've had. This is not a blow-off class. There is lots of stats, and math, and you must know Excel well.

I took this class online and over the summer and wish I hadn't. This is a very intense class. You need to do the homework he assigns although he doesn't grade it. If you don't keep up with the hw you will be lost. He is very helpful if you get lost. He truly cares that you understand. I was lost most of the summ but I still passed with a B.

This class is TIME CONSUMING. Took it online and although you can grasp the context of each chapter with extra, extra effort, it can be done. Unfortunately I had 2 time consuming classes that got the best of me. DOn't try taking this class along with 4 others is all I'm sayin'. You will work yourself hard! Glad this is over with!

If you have the time you gonna feel like you have done a crime. This class takes a lot of time. Dr. Coy can be helpful but the class is hard to handle. Don't take a full load with this class and if you take it online be sure you have at least a couple hours a week...nothing less

Class is not that difficult. He gives detailed examples for all homework problems. Exam reviews contain problems that are on the tests. He allows 1 pg front/back for notes to use on exams. No surprises. He's an excellent teacher. If you struggle then you did not do homework or study. 2 group projects that were not that difficult.

Dr. Coy made the material easy to understand. If there's anything his students don't understand, he's happy to explain it again. He's got a great sense of humor, but takes the subject seriously. You have to study to get your A or B. Highly recommend him!

Highly recommend him for 3332. He's a little intimidating but he answers all questions and reviews for his tests. Lets you use a cheat sheet on exams so no surprises. his tests were straight forward but you HAVE to attend class if you want to do well. he also gives extra credit for attendance. take him!

This class was BS! He assigns essays every week and makes you read outside articles that are extremely old and written poorly with citations everywhere. His tests are unfair and no partial credit is given. Avoid at all costs. If you are a foreign student that has to take this class, I pity you

Supply Chain Management is my least fav subject, but Dr. Coy is a passionate teacher and explains very well. There are 5 test including the final and you can drop 1. 2 group projects. I used the book very little and got a B.

Took course before with a diff. prof then w/ Coy & hes the best professor teaching it! Info seems difficult but he explains well which helps students understand. 3 exams+final & drops the lowest (dont have to take final if you do well on 1st 3), 2 team assmt. It's a hard class and he gives exceedingly difficult tests. But you can make up points with team and individual assignments, attendance and effort. Write down every concept you read in the book and do all homework to have a chance. He's a great teacher who gives you plenty of resources and is very cool. The class is time consuming.

I wasn't very interested in this class to begin with, but Prof Coy totally turned it around. Dynamic, interactive prof. You need to read the book and do the homework to do well on the tests, but Prof Coy did a great job of explaining concepts in class. He also has not only office hours but spends time in the lab to work with students who need help.

Cool professor. Work is hard, make no mistake about it. But, if you study the powerpoints he gives (that he uses to go over in class) you will probably do well on the tests. Homework is not for the faint of heart, but YouTube helped me with the examples I needed and showed me what to do. Take him!

This class is by far one of the toughest, but he is an excellent professor. To do well , you must do the homework and watch the videos. Also make sure to get a good group for the team assignments.

Overall class is easy with 4 test (drops the lowest score), 8 HW & Extra credit opportunities. Professor very helpful and responds to all inquiries quickly. He offers extra credit & you have to pay $125 + tax for McGraw-Hill Connect in order to take the HW, Test, & have access to the textbook.

This is a difficult class, the majority of students struggled with the course material. Its a management/statistics class. We had to collaborate with one another to gain understanding of the material. Other student opted to hire tutors for additional understanding. You will need to put forth a great effort to get a good grade in this class.

Best Professor! He will work with you if you have any trouble with any projects. Just visit his office. Really gem. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Just go through his videos and understand the material - you will pass the final.

Don't take this course lightly its one of the hardest offered in Davis. If your wondering if you should take this in the summer. Go for it! Its so worth getting it over with in 5 weeks then dragging it out for 15, which seems to be harder. Hes and excellent professor and you will walk out of his class with a solid foundation of business and supply.

This was a summer class for me and my advisor said oh no dont take this class during the summer it will be to hard but I took it anyway and I am glad I did. Dr. Coy is such a great professor he is very helpful and he makes his lectures interesting for his students. We had a quiz every week because it was the summer and they are not MC FYI.

He makes the material easy to understand, but it's also easy to fall behind if you don't come to class or watch the online lectures. I thought it would a lot harder than stats, but it was not. For the summer, 4 quizzes, 1 group project, and the final. Homework optional. He's there to help you, always welcomes you to ask questions.

Easy A. Very easy grader. Big group projects but just an attempt gets you a good grade. Lectures a lot but just show up and you will pass.

Professor Coy definitely knows his material. I definitely got a decent takeaway from this class and learned concepts and ideas that will help in the future. There was a ton of material covered and had great lecture videos provided to cover them. Overall, definitely some good takeaways and a great class.

I'm not a math person what so ever and this class is mandatory for me to take, but prof Coy is an amazing teacher. yes the material is tough , but if you do the homework , and the quizzes you should be good. if there is something that you did not understand , he will take his time to explain it to you. He really cares about his students!!

He seems like a very knowledgeable teacher, and his class is passable. But you have to put in a lot of effort yourself. The material can be overwhelming and confusing. Always seek for help when needed. He has office hours. Only thing I did not like was the group project. My team members were trash and the project was a waste of time.

Class consisted of 500 points: Weekly quizzes on Connect(100), weekly discussions on BB(50), 3 group assignments and major group project but you get to form your own team(100 & 100), comprehensive final(150). Make sure to watch his BB videos & download the video script for the quizzes because it'll help. Grades a little hard on group assignments

So hes a nice professor and teaches really great BUT he isnt able to cover barely a small portion of each chapter in class. So what he teaches in class you can understand but out of class you have a lot to read and figure out. He is a very helpful teacher if asked a question. He does 2 midterms, a final, learn smart and quizzes for each chapter.

Personally, I did well, but I can see how other may struggle. His content is very, "if you get it", its easy, if not, its gonna be rough. However, he does give every opportunity for extra credit and is extremely helpful if you ask him a question. His weekly zoom calls also help with that weeks assignment. 1 Midterm, 3 group assignments, 1 final.

You attend class,read all content given you will definitely pass his class! It's not a hard class if you pay attention. Attend class for class exercises on Excel, 4 Hw assignments using Excel(techniques/formulas learned in class, so it's very easy), Midterm, one group project(make sure you have reliable group members),final exam. EASY A. TAKE HIM!
