very clear notes and about what is going to be on the tests. he wants you to learn and get interested in it. participate in class! it sucks that he didnt express his own opinion on subjects talked about in class, but i guess the relgious nuts would freak out and complain if heaven forbid a teacher actually disagreed with their religious views.

Very good at explaining things and ideas and his powerpoints are very clear. He is willing to help anyone and tries to accomodate things with each class. His tests are fairly hard, but if you study, you should do fine. I really enjoyed his class and would take additional classes with him.

Very kind and likeable. Tough grader, but he seems to be lightening up on his tough standards to make it more like a 100-level class.

This class was what I expected. Little bit of a tough grader, topics are interesting and presented in a very clear way. Definitely worth taking

He is SO interesting. First class period he threw me off with how young he was but how maturely he spoke. He is very nice and knows a LOT about the subjects he is teaching. He is also very helpful and funny. If you have the chance, TAKE HIM!

I really enjoyed REL 110 class plus Mr. Fink was very, very helpful.. It's an ok class, although it requires a lot of reading and written homework.As long as you do your reading, taking notes well, and doing the discussion questions, you should be alright. Mr. Fink is funny, you can usually relate to what he's trying to explain. My favorite class!

My favorite professor at the university! He is very interesting and helpful. Funny but in a nerdy way. Extremely organized. Good lay-out for exams; never too hard, just have to study a bit. One big paper which he is MORE than willing to help you with. Great, great guy.

Frink is GREAT! I am NOT a religious person at all and this class was still SO interesting. I found that I will keep this knowledge with me throughout my life becuase its not too often you find someone as informed and educated as he is on the different religions. SO HELPFUL! He will email you back the same night to help with papers or questions!

Honestly one of my favorite professors so far. He's extremely interested in topics, very unbiased, open to different views, returns work extremely quick, provides great feedback on essays, and entertaining. show up to every class and take good notes. exams are tough, but i've learned a lot!

I took Professor Fink during the 3 week summer session. So much information was packed in a short time, but I understood everything. Tests aren't easy, but not impossible. Ask lots of questions and he loves class participation. This guy really cares about his students. Best professor I have had so far!

Fink is by far my favorite teacher! He knows what he is talking about, makes the class comfortable to speak in, and makes sure you know the material. Tests cover the material you went over previously and the whole class flows really well. I never missed a class!

One of the best professors I have ever had! I have never had any interest in Religious Studies at all, but this class was definetely do-able with Fink! Have to pay attention to take notes, but it's not hard! RECOMMENDED

Dr. Fink is the nicest guy and professor you will ever have. He explains everything so clearly and will help you out however he can. He would respond to emails at like 2 am because he wants to help that much. Such a nice guy and makes it so interesting. If you have the chance, take this class. One of the fairest professors I have come across and a nice guy. A very difficult class (you work for the 3 credits) but I enjoyed it. His powerpoints are very well organized-always a plus! Highly recommended.

Fink is the man. He is super helpful and really laid back. If you have any kind of problem he will be able to help you out. Wish I could take another class with this guy. I'm not even necessarily interested in the stuff we learned about but he made it fun. Write down all the background info because tests are a little difficult unless you do.

ENDLESS readings, 6 pop quizess, 4 tests, 2 mid terms and 2 papers that have longer guidelines than the required amount of pages for the paper. The clase is pretty easy but this guy is a real tool. You will be sick of it by mid-semester.

Professor Fink is one of my favorite professors at UWEC. He is incredibly organized, friendly, and kind during clas. He is very willing to help outside of class. Best professor I've ever had. This class isn't easy, but he is so helpful and easy to talk to. He outlines exactly what is on both exams and hands every exam/paper grade back within 4 days. He graded reading questions instantly by email. Highly recommend this professor.

Sort of a tough grader, but his class is easy enough. Just take REALLY good notes...and not just from the power point. Write down things he says.

Fink is a really great professor. He makes lectures so entertaining with Muslim hip hop videos and news articles and such. There's also always time set aside for small group and class discussion, which is great. I highly recommend him!

Class consists of some reading assignments, quizzes on reading assignments and lecture, 2 exams, and 2 short papers. Recommend it for an easy and interesting GE.

Fink is honestly the best professor I have had in my three years here at UWEC so far. His lectures are given in a way that keep your attention and you actually learn the material. This course material is very interesting, and quizzes and the few assignments are pretty easy. I would highly recommend this class and this professor to everyone!!!!

He gives review sessions before each test: with good notes & use of his online powerpoints, you'll be fine! Go see him to have him review drafts of papers and he'll tell you how to improve your paper.

Mr. Fink is an amazing teacher. He's super clear about what will be on every test and what we need to write down for notes. He's also hilarious and always knows how to make the class laugh. We watch a video probably everyday. He's a fantastic teacher, I want to take more of his classes just because he teaches them.

This is a great class if you are interested in all concepts of religion. Professor Fink is very specific on what he wants you to take notes on and that is all he will test you on. The tests are very easy as long as you take notes and go to class. I would definitely take another class with him.

Professor Fink was a great teacher, as long as you put work into the class you will be able to get an A. The only thing that is scary is that he has pop quizzes that require a lot of reading. but this class isn't hard concepts just requires a lot of time. I would take this for an easy GE.

Fink is awesome. I took this class online during summer and it was the best decision I have ever made. He is clear in what he wants. You obviously have to put time in since it is online, but he gives great feedback, and tells you exactly what to expect and is clear what will be on tests and what won't. Great class. He is really heavy on reading, but nice, sooo much information is given in one class, so rest up your note taking hands. Overall I like him tho.

If you do all the reading and work, achieving a high grade is not difficult. Honestly cares about students. Knowledgeable, intelligent, funny, and eager to teach. He offers chances to raise your grade for doing extra work (not extra credit). He is very easy to talk to, and gives great feedback on homework that will prepare you for each quiz.

Wants you to be successful but at the same time is a very difficult grader. We were expected to thoroughly know a large amount of information, and only tested on the material twice throughout the semester, so they were very high stakes. Exams are almost entirely short answer and essay. Also never missed a class but got a B on participation

Amazing professor, really cares about his students and their success. The reading responses (10) are a bit time consuming but very easy. The 2 exams are a lot of information to remember so notes are crucial BUT he does study sessions and will provide you with notes that you missed. He will basically help you in any way he can.

Dr. Fink is one of the best professors I've had at UWEC. He really cares about his students' performance in and outside of class and is always willing to meet one on one to discuss both course work and life. A few of the readings were a little dry but overall the course was really interesting and I feel like I took a lot from it.

Professor Fink is an awesome person and I would recommend his class to anyone- even if you're not religious. He gives you information you need to pass the class and he makes lectures not so boring. I would recommend you knock out the reading responses as soon as possible so you have time to focus on the paper that's due by the end of the semester.

Professor Fink is very easy with notes. He'll tell you exactly what you'll need. He always reminds you that you can meet with him outside of class if you'd like. Attendance is graded.

Most caring professor EVER! 2 exams are essay & its a LOT of information to remember. Lots of reading in this course. Lectures are enjoyable & content is interesting, his sense of humor helps. He will even proof read & give recommendations on your papers, if you utilize his offers, DO IT! Sincerely the nicest guy I think I have ever met.

Dr. Fink's classes are never boring! He does an amazing job at teaching, is very considerate of other students, and really enjoys teaching. His notes are clear and thorough, and you know exactly what is asked of you. You need to really study for the exams, but everything else is moderately easy.

There isn't a lot of homework. You do have a decent amount of quizzes but they are easy. There are only 4 tests.

I have never had a professor that cares as much about his students the way Fink does. He will offer to meet you outside of class to help you in any way in regards to homework or papers; but he also will meet with you if you ever need someone to talk to or are struggling in other aspects of life. Everything for Professor Fink's online class is laid out for you right away. Very clear criteria, not too much work, maybe an hour a day if you know what you're doing. He always gives feedback and grades fairly, explaining exactly why he may have doced points or what you did well. This class was a quite interesting and taught me a lot.

I would give him a 10 if possible. Without a doubt, the best professor at Eau Claire, but likely anywhere. He is the most genuine, kind, caring, amazing professor. I have never learned more in a class and it may not be an easy A, but it's very doable and worth it. I'm taking another class with him literally just because it's him. TAKE FINK!!!!!!!!!

I'm convinced there's not a better professor out there. 2nd class I've taken with Fink. He's amazing, caring, & helpful. Grades things within like hours, almost without exception. Learn a lot of material, but it's all interesting/helpful. COVID has made class easier because lectures are online and can use notes on the tests. Take any class w/ him!!

I took this class for winterim and thought he was great. Very clear lectures online and answers emails fast and had detailed responses. He really cares about the subject and if you do the assignments you'll pass without a problem.

Steven Fink was meant to be a professor. He is passionate about the content and genuinely cares about his students. Very, very understanding and flexible when it comes to mental health and personal struggles. Responds very quickly(even very late at night!)and gives great feedback. 100% take a class with him if you get the chance. Love this man :)

Super-excellent person and professor. Given COVID, it was a little difficult to soak up the knowledge I think I needed. Make sure you do the assignments, even if they're menial, because it 1000% matters to your grade. Content I think was a bit too complex for an introductory class, but it was interesting nonetheless!

He always gave amazing feedback, his rubrics were clear as to what he was expecting, and he was extremely organized.

This man is a SAINT. I'm not even halfway through the semester but I just felt the need to rate how amazing he is. Is SO understanding if you need to miss, such a sweet person makes lectures very very very interesting and is open to talk whenever about whatever you need! The world needs more profs like this guy. You will NOT regret taking him!!

Dr. Fink is an amazing professor who cares about his students. He is funny and makes class go by very fast. I have not met a single person who does not think he is a great professor.

Sweetest man alive. I literally adore him. I took RELS 110 expecting it to be boring, but he keeps it interesting with videos, jokes, fun discussions, and class flies by. Get ready to take an unholy amount of notes and make sure to study. His lecture quizzes are really hard because there's so much material, but that's probably my only complaint.

Professor Fink is so caring about his students and makes class so interesting. I never felt like I had to worry about doing bad in this class because he was always ready to help and make it easy to learn. I highly recommend taking this class.

I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Fink. He is very passionate about what he teaches and keeps it interesting in his lectures with videos and articles. There is a significant amount of outside reading and quizzes, but they aren't too bad, and he is a good grader. Tests are easy.

I loved my class with Professor Fink! Although I don't love writing notes, it helped that he always has videos between certain points and to emphasize things. He truly seems to care about his students, and has study sessions before major exams. Overall, an interesting class and a great professor.

Such a supportive professor. He genuinely cares about his students and always listens to and values the words of his students. His tests contain a lot of information, so be prepared to study lots for the midterm and final, but other than that the course work is not draining.

Professor Fink is a kind and respectful professor! His class is primarily based on lectures; however, ten assignments throughout the semester require textbook reading. The quizzes and tests are fairly easy; they only really require memorizing lecture material.

He is very understanding if you have problems occurring in your life. The best tip for this class is to really memorize every single thing on the study guide for the quiz's and exams. You will get an A if you do that, show up to class, and complete the assignments. It may seem like a lot when you first begin this class, but its not too much work.

When I say I would die for this man, I would absolutely DIE for this man. I genuinely am sad that the class is over. He is such a caring and understanding professor. This class is very lecture-based, but he makes class very enjoyable. He also is a very good grader and genuinely wants you to succeed. There's a reason why his RMP score is so high!

I really enjoyed Professor Fink, he does a great job at clearly organizing the material you need to know and he really cares about his students. There is a lot of memorization so make sure you get ahead of studying for the midterm and final.

Professor Fink has been one of my favorites by far! He's so nice and helpful and he clearly wants his students to succeed. He tells you exactly what he wants you to write in your notes and those end up being a straightforward guide to what's on the tests. There are a few writing assignments but they're not difficult or lengthy.

I joined late. He was really nice about letting me catch up. He is overall a super caring and genuine person, and understandable to things that may come up outside class. His assignments are reasonable, and although there are lots of notes he tells you what to write down. For tests as long as you study and memorize the outline you will do fine.

The nicest man EVER! He wants you to succeed and is passionate about what he teaches. He fairly graded the midterm and final, as well as the weekly writing assignments. I would recommend making flashcards (or whatever study method you use) as you go, so studying time doesn't seem so daunting. I couldn't have had a better experience in this course!

Prof. Fink is great. He cares a lot, both about this subject and his students. There where a lot of assignments, but they where all manageable and had clear explanations. He lets you know exactly what he's looking for and always gave great feedback.

Professor Fink is the most caring professor I have had. He genuinely cares about every student. The grade in the class is determined by 12 Reading Responses, two exams, a ten-page research paper, and a smaller paper. Fink is very lenient on grading because everyone has their own interpretation of the material. Exam review sessions are helpful.

Favorite professor at UWEC by far! The course has manageable small assignments that are graded fairly, quizzes are helpful preparation for the exams (midterm and final), & there's an author dialogue which is a fun creative write up, as well as a reflection essay. Lots of areas to boost grade. Very understanding and accessible outside of class!

I really like Fink. A majority of assignments he gives are with the textbook but are not on actual exams. he shows many cool videos each class regarding religion. There is a lot of discussion with the people next to you but as a shy person, it's not bad. If I could, I would take another class with fink

Extremely caring professor. Decent amount of homework, grades easy. Lectures consist of videos. Class mostly involved learning about other religions. Participation is graded, but he sends you the notes when you miss. Tests are easy if you study the notes, you're good if you know what all the terms are. Wants to help you. I would take him again.

This man is genuinely one of my favorite human beings on the planet. There are so many opportunities for good grades in this class and he gives feedback immediately. All he wants is for his students to succeed, and he's such an amazing person to talk to outside of class.

Very lecture heavy (but they're pretty engaging and entertaining, but make sure to record your notes), and attendance matters. Make sure to review your notes occasionally, and study them thoroughly as he asks pretty much about anything during exams and quizzes, almost don't skip the homework, participate in lecture, and don't be afraid to email him

Professor Fink is a super caring teacher. All of his lectures are very interesting. He makes learning fun. The class is very note heavy but Professor Fink tells you exactly what to take notes on and makes sure you have plenty of time to write them down.

He is honestly my favorite professor. He makes very clear what parts of the lecture are needed for notes and what will be on the exams.

He is like a father in a way. He genuinely cares about your well-being and is willing to work with you if you need time off. He even let me take the final a few days early so I could get home for Christmas sooner since I was using the testing center. He makes it clear what notes need to be taken and is very engaging.

Dr. Fink is very caring and will always accommodate you. His lectures are amazing and the content is easy to understand with the examples he shows in class. There are 2 quizzes, 2 midterms and couple papers. I would not recommend this class though if you can't memorize things well and don't want to do a reading assignment every week.

He's such a nice guy--you can tell how much he cares about his students and his material. The work was easy enough to complete and he's a very reasonable grader and gives his feedback quickly. Very clear on what info from lectures is important. Going to class was something I looked forward to with Fink. Absolutely would recommend this class!

By far the kindest and most caring professor I've had. I took his class for a LE requirement and don't regret it at all. He grades quickly, replies to emails fast, and clearly tells you what to study for quizzes and assignments. The material was super engaging, and I always looked forward to attending class. Highly recommend him!

Hands down best professor I've ever had. He has such great energy in the morning that makes you want to learn. He cares about each and every student he reminds us that he is there for us. The homework and the quizzes are really simple and easy. If anyone says that he is a bad professor, they are lying.

Dr. Fink has probably been the best professor I've ever had. Attendance is mandatory, but he is very flexible and accommodating if you just communicate with him. He is a very fast grader and is almost always available via email. Everything is very clear in terms of what needs to be studied and done for assignments and quizzes. Overall he's amazing!

I don't say this lightly: Steven Fink is the kindest, most gentle, and caring soul I have probably ever met. Kids that skip every class and hate school love going to his class. He cares about every single student so deeply, and would do anything for any of them, offering help or a listening ear to any problem a student may have. Amazing man.
