Adolescent Development was a great class. Dr. Fleisher is one of the best teachers here. His tests are easy if you read and take good notes. He is very open to questions and he is very clear. He is actually very entertaining. Only 4 two page research papers along with three tests. I will definately take him again.
Dr. Fliesher is such a good teacher! He tries to incorporate all the different types of learning... auditory, visual, kinesthetic... I haven't really studied for the tests because he is so thorough in class. reading the book is helpful and pretty easy, not necessary though.
Dr. Fleisher is consistent in his reinforcement of the material, that is to say, he consistently repeats the previous classes lecture so as to never cover new material thoroughly. His latest all inclusive teaching method involves watching a series of videos that better elucidate his otherwise shrouded lectures.
This class is really easy if you want to put up with Fleisher's circus act he calls class everyday. He says bad words and talks about sex way too much. Its creepy. I wouldnt let my kid take his class if i had a kid. Hes raunchy. All he talks about is how much he is "not blaming his father". Oh and he really hates skateboarders and snoop dogg
Fleisher has problems. he is inconsistent- one minute he is totally confident about his lecture then he loses it and has no idea what to say. Attendence and participation are req. "say OH YEAH"- which sucks b/c i aced the class without buying the book or paying attention in class- its easy, but you have to show up and sit in the same room as him
Steve is an awesome and engaging teacher. I have taken one class from him and am currently enrolled in another. He os funny and honest. He will help you whenever possible. All he asks you for is you attendance and your attention. You read the book, do a study guide in class, a short paper every other week and you have an A in the class.
The class is easy, just copy all of his powerpoints and read. He does pop quizzes but he also gives out extra credit and has in-class work that is easy. Just go to class and you will do fine. He grades easy
He is so cool. He is kinda weird, but if you are a psyc major you will love him. He is so friendly and VERY fair. All the test questions come from homework, so do the homework! I will take more classes from him for sure.
GREAT professor. Strives to truly teach his students and make a difference in their lives. Extremely patient, nice, understanding and passionate about what he does. As long as you do everything you are supposed to, you should do extremely well. I'd love to have him for a professor again.
Super easy class, Fleisher made it even easier. Do the HW, go to class and let your face be known and you're golden. He even gives all the questions to the tests as homework. Funny guy, gets a little preachy, but the class is so simple I can't complain.
He's pretty funny, if you listen and catch his jokes. He engages the class as much as he can and make the class commit the material to memory, even though it may feel ridiculous to "turn to your neighbor" or say "oh yeah." Overall, Dr. Fleisher's class was enjoyable and he was an excellent professor.
I am also taking 370 with Dr. Fleisher right now and I love him! He is always eager to help, and loves it when you participate. Test questions are taken from the hw. Class is always very "off-book" and casual. He loves what he does. All professors should be like him.
A good teacher for sensation and perception (he made the material much easier to grasp). Good guy, a little repetitive and boring, but overall easy enough to get the A.
awsome professor. he makes learning so much easier. make sure to attend the lectures. learned so much in such a short time.
Very inspiring guy who gives you advice and input on very meaningful topics. Hw every week but it's worth it. Tests come directly from the hw.
Great teacher. truly cares, very interesting class. Tests come straight from text and vocab so dont ignore the assignments!
Best professor I've taken so far! So enthusiastic, makes class casual and fun, and very understanding. Class is really easy, but it's easy to slack off in this class since all the test ?s come from the HW. Genuinely cares about his students and always willing to help! Will definitely take another one of his classes.
Great teacher-engaging/great for the working student. His class is doable without getting sick from stress
ITS COOL! he is a really easy laid back teacher. i would totally recomend him for an easy A
He is a very good teacher... his background is in MFT, and he sounds like it... if that sounds like it would bother you, then don't take him...
This professor does a great job of giving plenty of assignments in order to keep grades high in the class. he is a great teacher, but is not very concerned with what you write in your research papers. i really enjoyed being in his class.
He is such an easy teacher. Homework is really easy and you know all the test corrections ahead of time. All you need to do is memorize them. I would definetly recomend him for an easy A.
This proff is ridiculously easy. If you want an easy A this is the psych teacher to take... at least for 100. Just memorize the online questions. I have never read a chapter yet and have a high A.
Fleisher is an interesting professor. If you take his MWF section, then be prepared to learn something on Monday, to learn it AGAIN on Wednesday, and to follow it up on Friday. I felt it was a waste of time to attend more than one class a week. Tests are easy if you study the homework well. 3 research papers, and a few pointless group projects.
This was a refreshingly easy but interesting class. Fleisher makes it easy to learn and not to learn; it's really up to you. You get credit for the hw by just turning it in; he never looks at it. He makes the class really subjective and personal; there's no overwhelming pressure to perform; there's room for self-exploration. It makes learning fun!
I found this class ridiculous. I do not even know how I made it to the end of the semester. The prof looks like he does not know what he is talking about, his lectures seem unorganized. Makes you say "oh yea" all the time even if you don't understand what he is talking about. You're better off staying home and reading the textbook. Easy A though.
This class was pretty easy, he gives you alot of work to do so even when u bomb the tests your homework keeps you at an okay grade. The class was pretty boring though, its one of those classes that you just keep looking at the clock hoping it will end soon!
Class had alot of work including three test, weekly hw and vocab, and 5 or 6 essays and a final project. This class should have been four units. Teachers just rambles alot and its really boring. It available take class with another teacher.
Ugh. He is boring, thinks he is funny, and likes to give work. You have homework due every week, and several pointless papers and tests. Not too hard, but might be better with a different teacher. Makes you do a "minute paper" at the end of every class.
He is a very nice man and grades super easily on homeworks and projects. The only thing is he doesn't really teach. We mostly get into groups and talk about the homework. Tests are hard unless you study the book, NOT the notes. It's a pretty easy class.
& Psy 370. IMO simply the best Prof I had the pleasure of learning from at CSUCI in 3 years of attendance. Very down-to-earth & approachable, allows the student to speak up, ethical & commands respect by his example.
Interesting, great professor. Always makes examples relating to real life. Homework every week, but they're pretty much the answers to the tests.STUDY VOCAB! I would definitely recommend him for Cognition & Learning.
It was an optional class for me and I dropped it early in the semester. Why? He called me out in front of the class and accused me of doing work for "other" classes. I was taking notes for that class that class only. To say he poisoned the atmosphere would be understating. And demanding that you chant "oh yeah" is insulting.
Dr. Fleisher is a laid back teacher. He's really into helping his students and has a very positive attitude. His classes tend to be stress free, but informative. I have taken him a few times.
Steven is amazing!!! He is very clear as to what he wants and makes the class interesting. Tests are easy as long as you study and if you do not understand something, always ask for help after class and he explains clearly.
Took him for Sensation & Perception, Intro to Counseling, and Psych of Families. He's an MFT, which is what I want to do, so I loved hearing his thoughts on a lot of things. The classes weren't very difficult. The reading for intro to counseling and psych of families was very interesting. I would def take him again for another course if I could.
Dr.Fleisher is a very clear and straight forward teacher. There is homework due every week, which requires reading the text. The textbook is very simple to read (not your average textbook) and to the point. This class was great. There are a few short papers and a final paper at the end of the semester.
I loved him! There is busy work due almost every class.. So although he doesn't take attendance the points add up..Tests are easy if you study. Lots of papers but he is a very easy grader. He isn't that interesting, but its worth it to take his class if you want a good grade. Don't have a cell phone out!
He's a cool guy. He really likes his learning theories. His classes are interesting and not stressful. I have had him for 3 classes and all I received an A.
He's a really nice guy who wants to see his students succeed. I took him for PSY 333 which is a boring subjects but he does try to make things as interesting as possible. He does assign HW so attendance is mandatory. I would highly recommend him!
Good intro teacher, he is very workable and nice. He actually has funny jokes and if you do the work and study for the tests your pretty much guarenteed an A.
Fleisher is really one of the nicest teachers at this school. His lectures can be a tad boring at times if your class doesn't participate. He is always there to help and isn't super difficult.
Kind, helpful, and funny. Your wil enjoy all the things Professor Fleisher has to teach. Participate, ask questions, and make sure to read the book. Best tip to study for the exams are making flashcards, rereading the chapters, and reviewing notes. Exams are easy, but only if your truely put in a lot of effort towards studying.
He expects you to apply the class to yourself personally, which I found irritating, unnecessary, and inappropriate. There's busy work every week, forced peer discussion and review in class, and a perpetual need for reinforcement that the class is paying attention. Don't take his class if you already know the information, you'll only be frustrated.
This guy is kind of rude. He makes you say "oh yea", forces shy kids to speak up pretty loud, really embarrasses students, forces peer reviews all the time for really useless papers that didn't teach me anything at all. The class involves you and your psychology more than an intro to broad world of the science. Never disliked a prof before till him
Very relaxed and understanding guy. If you need help, or have some external issues conflicting wth school, talk to him! He'll listen and help if he can (work wise). The peer reviews seem annoying, but they're good. Don't worry about his "oh yeas", its just to make sure you're paying attention. Remember to keep on top of deadlines. Great class!
Awesome teacher. I suggest you take him. Make sure you study for his test though, there not easy.
I absolutely love Steve. He makes you call him by his first name so it makes the class a lot more comfortable. His teaching style makes it really easy to understand. Buying the text book is a must. If you do the homework then its garunteed that you will do well on the test. I highly recommend taking his class!
what all professors should aspire to be
This class is pretty easy, but extremely annoying. He makes you talk to you classmate for about 5 minutes when all you need are a few seconds and makes you peer review you essays. essays are pointless and busy work is due every week. assignments are unclear and when you ask about them, he has trouble explaining it. Seems like he doesn't even know.
This class is easy but he is awful. He does not know the material and he has this thing where he needs everyone's attention all the time even though he doesn't know what he is saying. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Biggest waste of my time. I have never failed a class, nor have I ever disliked a professor until him. Peer review of essays, as well as having had each essay signed off by the writing center. Tests were completely incomparable to study guides as well as material covered in lecture and the book, very confusing.
He is easy, but he's kinda crazy. The HW is really, and the peer review essays are not as bad as one would think. He does make talk in class and won't let off the hook, until you get the right answer when speaking in class. There is a group presentation but its easy, casue he picks your topic for you.
Dr. Fleisher is a nice guy and has a sense of humor. There is weekly homework,a lot of pair and group discussion and a peer reviewed paper which is annoying at times, but he does it to help his students. He ends class early more than other professors. He emphasizes silence in the room a lot. Tests are hard but homework credit makes up for it.
Class was pretty easy-couple 2 page papers (peer-reviewed), and like 3 tests . Just study definitions of the vocab words and do the hw every week and you will easily pass. HW IS NOT THAT HARD, ITS JUST DEFINING,Critical thinking questions, ETC. STUDY VOCAB FOR TESTS THATS ALL I DID AND I GOT AN A EVERY TIME. HES COOL.
Do your hmwk and study for the test and you'll get an A, I enjoyed his class and feel he grades fairly. Offers extra credit as well.
He's a good professor and knows what he's talking about. He's BIG on classroom involvement (almost a little too much sometimes). But other than that, he's okay.
Fleisher is the best :) He's very thorough and cares about his students. As long as you come to class, do the homework, and read; you will get an A. You most definitely need your textbook.
Loved this class. 3 tests basically off of vocab, easy weekly homework assignments, lots of group discussions.
He is a very nice, helpful and understanding professor. He is also very approachable and is always willing to answer your questions. It is very easy to pass the class, I was able to do all of the assignments last minute and only read some of the chapters, yet I passed with a B. Overall he really cares about your opinion and learning.
He is a very good teacher. He is there when needed. Lectures can be clear and sometimes not. Read your textbook, vocabulary, and notes because it is all needed to pass. Good professor tries to help and speak with you if you are not doing well. Great class learned a lot and about life lessons for psychology.
He's a nice, laid-back teacher. He really likes classroom involvement and if no one is volunteering to answer or give feedback he gets irritated. If you study your homework, the vocabulary, and the chapter you will get a good grade on the test. No papers in this class, however class is mandatory and he docs points after missing 4 sessions.
Professor Fleisher is interesting, sometimes he goes off topic and talks about autonomy for the entire lecture. He makes you turn to the person sitting next to you and answer a question. His tests are pretty easy if you study the vocabulary. Participation is a part of your grade.
He keeps his class's attention and makes it fun to be in class. His examples are funny. Allows to talk to a neighbor, but expects attention while lecturing. A very enjoyable class to take overall.
He is one of my fave profs in the Psych department!! His classes are interesting, and he made me curious to learn more about the topic. There is homework, but it's easy, and he gave study guides for our exams. His exams were easy, as long as you study the homework and the textbook.
Attendance is not mandatory, but you will miss out on a lot if you are not there. He is very nice, but likes a VERY quiet class while someone is talking. If you are a fidgety person, this could be a tough environment. He will gladly work with you if you don't understand a concept. Homework is easy, but not much variety. Would talk again.
Funny, easy to understand, very clear when specifying. Easy grader, easy A. One of the best professors I've had.
His class is very well organized. He assigns weekly homework and reading assignments. Expects participation from the students. He is very clear on what will be on the midterm and final. Homework is due in hardcopy form every Monday before class. He cares about his students and will confront them individually based on their current grade.
The tests are worth 50 points each and the 3 tests were really hard for me because I doubted myself. But other than that don't worry too much because if you show up you get points ,the 2 papers are really easy to do, and the group project should really help your grade go up. Would take another course from him again.
Easy A class because the professor's easy to understand. He literally makes material as easy as possible for students to understand. Class is an easy A. His exams are a bit tough, but study the study guide and you'll do fine. He's a good professor and always helps students when they're stuck.
Steve is one of the best teachers that i have ever had at ci. He explains the materials so well. If you are not the best test taker in the world he does have "cushion paints" which are comprised of 2 easy papers, participation, a final project and extra credit at the end. In addition he is a nice and adorable dude. TAKE HIM
HE IS VERY BORING AND HIS LECTURES ARE A DRAG. But his class is very easy!!! Only two tests and a final that are exactly like the study guides! Do the work and you will easily get an A or B!
Steve was one of the best professors I took this semester. He is very easy and makes clear of what he wants from you. The two papers you write are extremely easy and are easily graded. Show up to class and take notes and you will pass. Tests are a bit tough but there are many ways to keep your grade up.
Best professor I have had. He is very clear about his grading criteria and lenient when it comes to late work. Attendance is given credit for and no phones allowed. Loved his class and was very easy
He can be super annoying during lecture because if someone even looks down he expects it to because they are on a phone, and he will call you out for it. No matter what you will get a C in this class. He is a sweet guy though.
Professor Fleisher is a great professor. He is funny and knows what he is talking about when it comes to psychology. There are three tests and the final. All are 4o questions multiple choice. The tests are easy if you take the notes, read the textbook, and participate in class.
I love Fleisher and would take him anytime. I took Psych 101 with him and now Psych 333. I am a business major and this is by far my favorite teacher at CI. He is easy to talk to, entertaining and just all around a great teacher.
He cares about his students, yet gets super annoying during his lectures. Grading isn't to bad, if you complete the work then you will get a B in the class
Dr. Fleisher cares about his students. There is kind of a lot of work but its all easy. His grading system is designed for you to pass. Lectures are fun, and participation/ attendance can positively impact your grade. I would recommend taking this professor. Just show up and do the work and you'll be fine.
Really nice. Do all the assignments and you will pass the class.
Professor Fleisher is why i am majoring in psychology engages well with students makes sure the material is well known. Test are multiple choice and reflect on vocab so Study vocabulary and you will pass his test. Participation reflects attendance so show up to class. Does offer extra credit and gives a couple easy papers. Over all great teacher!
The best. Super easy class.
This professor made my evenings the best, he spreads positive vibes and finds a solution to anything. Really enjoyed his lectures, he was very learn and straight forward. Cracks a joke once in a while and helps you prepare for tests.
He's easily one of the top professors at CI. I can't believe I learned so much about psychology and neuroscience in one semester. He cares about students developing good learning habits and doing well in his class and in general. Classes were a helpful mix of lecture and discussion with lots of good visuals/videos.
Easy A but teaches and treats you like your in high school. Homework once a week, for tests review the homework and vocab and youll get an A. FYI, dont even think about touching your phone in class, youll be on his bad side the entire semester.
One of the best professors I have ever had! Im retaking this class because I failed the first time. He has clear presentations and give an extra credit opportunity. do the homework, study vocabulary and you'll do just fine. He wants you to show up to every class, but its acceptable to miss up to 3. Highly suggest him!
Easy class as long as you show up, do the homework and study for the exams. Read the book for the exams and use the vocab list he gives you. I loved his class and he made it very enjoyable. No phones though!
Took PSY 100 with him and I feel like he couldve made it much more interesting . Lectures were boring and I didnt really learn anything cool. Class is pretty easy and only one hw assignment a week and a few presentations. He means well but comes across as kind of mean sometimes. Also no phones
Took this class bc everyone said he was "easy"... Ya no that's not the case at all. He tells you to read the book, read the notes you take in class, and also the vocab. I failed all but the final and ended with a B. I just studied my notes and vocab for the final. Do that if you take this class. Homework and essays are easy does not read them.
I absolutely loved this class. If you have any doubts about this class, dont. I barely knew any psychology and he made it fun, relaxing, and no stress. He cares about each person individually and be sure to say hi to him when you walk in. Never have your phone out. Dont talk while hes talking. Hes such a laid back professor. Id take this again
Steven is so passionate about his job. He REALLY wants you to learn and be passionate about it too. He almost makes it too easy to pass his Counseling Theories class - if you do your homework and the few assignments he gives, you will probably get an A. UTILIZE HIM - he loves to help and bounce ideas off of you. My FAVORITE professor BY FAR!!!
Steven Fleisher is the strict teacher we all need, Most teachers don't even care for students but he does! Skip class you won't pass, lectures can be a little boring but take good notes and review homework and you'll be set for test. Overall a pretty easy class. Do Not even think about using your phone in this class. Its DISTRESPECTFUL!
He reminds me a lot of a high school teacher. Go to class, take notes, homework, and then an exam. He is very engaging, not at all scary. Attendance is mandatory. There is a textbook for the class, but you don't really need to read it. If you use his study materials and do sessions with friends, you should pass. I did. EASY A!(:
Great lectures. Tries to get to know all his students and their feelings. Even if you are not a good test taker like me, you can still get an A in his class if you do the other assignments. I like the extra points he gives for effort. Dr. Fleisher inspired me to major in psychology because of his great lectures and attitude.
Professor Flesher is a great professor. You need to buy the book to do the homework each week. Three exams which are not so hard. Class participation matters, he sometimes picks randomly on someone. There's also a little partner work. You need to go to class, he grades your attendance.
Almost dropped his class because he made me talk to people and I dislike socializing in class. I am glad I did not drop his class because his lectures are great. The homework helps you remember the information. He is kind and understanding if you are going through something.
Dr. Fleisher was the greatest professor I've ever had. He cares about his students and his students success. Coursework was interesting and he made lectures fun. Breakout rooms were the MOST FUN! A good amount of homework but all important for the learning process. Only had 3 tests, a small paper and a group project. He is a CSUCI gem.
Due to Covid he provided us with pdf of the book which was nice. One assignment per week: chapter review, two parts of the assignment. 1st half are simple questions with 1-2 sentences answer, 2nd half is 2 reflection questions 3-5 sentences long. Relatively easy but lectures are quite boring. Make sure to make study guides for tests/quizzes
Great teacher, very nice and helpful. Read/skim the chapter each week due the chapter homework. A quiz every few weeks, one group project thats super easy, interview paper thats also super easy, not too much work easy A! would take again.
He makes his lectures so interesting. There are a few quizzes. There is also a group assignment due, but you will work in a team. At the end there is a final exam. He is a gem. Take him if you are interested in counseling!!
Quizzes arent hard but you have to put in effort. Effort literally will make you do so well in his class. He doesnt Like using laptops or iPads in his class. Only notebooks, notes arent a problem bc he posts them on canvas. He is very understanding and values health more than anything.
Genuinely one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is so smart, funny, and sweet and will have you so engaged in class. I don't think that you absolutely have to go to every class, but every time I went I was really glad I did, so I recommend going.
Prof Fleisher is truly a wonderful teacher. He really does care about what he teaches and cares about your opinions. Easy lectures and tests every few chapters thatll assure you a good grade if you actually read the chapters. Overall a pretty good professor, learned so much with him
I enjoyed having him as a teacher, he's not bad. Make sure you read and study a bit and you won't have an issue. He helps with knowledge check in homework. As long as you do the work you will pass.
Dr. Fleisher cares a great deal about Psychology and his expertise is obvious in the dynamic style of his lectures. Papers and assignments graded fairly and in a timely manner. Lots of textbook reading. Definitely would recommend!!
I would take more courses from Fleisher!
Steven Fleisher is one of the best college professors I've ever had! He makes every class and lecture interesting and you can tell that he really loves what he does. He is also very caring and understanding. He made my interest for psychology grow even more and I definitely would take him again.
Professor Steven Fleisher is great at what he does. I would say he is well organized with the material. Knowledge surveys and vocab really help understand the material. Also, the book for this class can be found as an e-book in case you don't want the hard copy.
He is a great professor! He truly cares about psychology AND his students. His quizzes are pretty easy if you read the textbook or listen to the lectures. Easy A!
This class was okay. Exams we're kind of difficult. The textbook has very long chapters and hard to understand at times and boring at times which made it hard to study. You definitely do have to put in the time to study if not you don't do good in the exams but overall gives a good amount of extra credit which helps a lot!
