I paid to see all of his ratings and let me tell you all that they are scary! He is one nasty professor who loves to see his students do poorly, plus he fails a lot of them... be smart and take someone who won't fail you for no reason!

Please listen very carefully. This professor is awful. He likes to hear himself talk. He's arrogant and sarcastic. Nothing you do or say is ever good enough. He's grading system is mean. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Come on guys! Give the guy a credit. He has no desire to fail you; he is there to help and if you are willing to do the work, which is not too much, he will help you in any way he can. He rewards your hard work!

From what i heard he is really moody. Suck up to him, make him feel like he's interesting, and he'll pass you with a b. and just hand in your work, late or whatever.

Avoid this professor. He is unclear, unhelpful, nasty, sloppy and incredibly dirty. Honestly take another profesor his class is a waste of time.
Horrid grading system! A nice person however makes student feel worthless. When questioning his grading system he made me look like the bad guy.
Oh my gosh, horrible. Save yourself and do not ever even think of taking him. Its incredibly hard to get a B in his class. He will pick on all of your little mistakes and give you low grades. His class is so boring, he talks the whole time.
I had him over the summer, so maybe he's different, but I just did the work and I got an A. He's great if you like "dry" humor. Really made me interested in Poetry and other Romantic literature. I would take him again.

ive never failed a class before this one, nevertheless received a C. drop this class and save some $ bc its impossible to get an A or B. he also makes you feel insignificant and you dont learn anything...all he does is talk about nothing. he is the worst teacher ive ever had, by far.

Kind of pretentious, thinks he knows everything and treats you like you know nothing, especially if you question his opinion. Nit-picker when it comes to grading. Any slight grammar mistake he'll call you on. Constantly plays with his marker throughout class-distracting! Not a fun class. Creepy guy!
He used to be a movie critic and thats basically what we have been doing in class. Unclear/not focused. Relies too much on student participation, doesn't have a clear plan of what to do. Takes attendence too early. Never says anything that is relevant. SKIP THIS PROFESSOR.

he makes me want to rethink english as my major. he's boring and unclear and loves to either contradict you because he can or just restate exactly what you already said as if it wer his own idea. the man sucks ass people, and he's really making this learning thing more of a hassle than it should be.

good guy but boring. yet an easy class,all u do is read 4-5 books and talk in class n ur set. only 2 papers assigned, no real hmw, n he was a nice guy. i recommend if u want an easy class, n dont mind reading. his grading system is a little odd but all in all good class, no midterm or final.

he has no idea what he's doing. i learned everything he knew about the subject, which was absolutely nothing. we received no grades throughout the entire semester, and i had no idea where i stood until the end. extensive homework assignments, suprise papers, in other words...don't take a class with this professor if you don't have to.
Took him online, he is VERY, DIFFICULT. Extremely detail oriented with grammar, & proper citations. You will work very hard at writing well for a good grade in this class!BEWARE!
Online course. I'm not going to lie, this class was hard. There was alot of work involved. You will have to work hard for your grade. More than half of the people dropped the class by the end. Be aware if you take him.
Honestly, not as terrible as it sounds. Stay on his good side and do the work, you will be fine. He's a very nice person. The assignments we were given were pretty weird, though. They're do-able, you just won't be sure why you have to do them, and what point it has. Don't buy the book, you won't use it.

Rude, arrogant, boring and extremely critical when it comes to students responses to discussions. If it wasn't the answer he was looking for he will shut you down immediately. Greatly discourages students from wanting to participate.
His class was hard to sit through mostly because he is very arrogant. The assignments were weird sometimes, but if you do the work and show up its possible to get an A. Whenever he would ask the class a question and someone answered he would correct them. It was frustrating and made me not want to participate. If you have the option avoid him.
I simply asked him for help instead he bullied me into posting one of my discussion boards onto the class public forum and asked other students to pick me apart for extra credit. he refuses to give help. Do not take him unless you can some how get on his good side. I dropped his class because he was going out of his way to fail me.
Although he is a 'tough grader' he gives great feedback that if you're able to listen to him and apply what he has said, you will progress in the course! I started out with B grades and I am typically an A student, but after I applied what he told me, I got better. I did not expect an A but he is able to recognize students who work had!
the worst professor at pace BY FAR. i urge you all to not take his class unless you want to fail. i am an A student and had to drop his class because he is crazy when it comes to grading. gave me a 0 on something because i put my last name after the title instead of before.
Goldleaf sent me an email said I should drop and he said although I work hard, I might get a D or worse grade. I never met a professor who gave a student a D grade basic on the first quiz. The reason is I have some small problems in my sentence. IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT LIKE ME, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. HE WILL FAIL YOU FOR SURE
Whoever takes this class and says he's a bad professor clearly doesn't want to work hard. He' a tough grader, to be sure, but honestly if you do the work and try you won't hate him. First, Im a student of Professor Goldleaf from the 1980s. I was reading the comments and saw nothing has changed in the decades since I was a student with Professor Goldleaf. People who breeze through courses expecting an easy A are invariably shocked that this professor expects more from them. Work hard, listen, and you will be a better writer.
