AMAZING teacher! Knows his stuff and is very helpful. Always there to help you. This prof is a MUST! You'll enjoy the class and learn a lot!
Great professor. Goes at a good pace and makes sure all the students understand or have any questions. Makes things very clear.
Amazing teacher, easy to understand, explains everything multiple times until they are stuck in your head, and has a great review session before every test. Wish i had him for all my math classes.
very clear, easygoing, easy teacher!!
BEST TEACHER EVER. seriously take him if u have the chance you won't regret it. Got an A in his class and its because he explained everything so clearly and made it easy to understand. TAKE HIM!
Best professor at qc. U wont regret taking his class. Crystal clear lectures and review before exams.
He's a good teacher. Would go over any questions you have, gives homework but doesn't check it.
Very clear, easy, and helpful professor. Need to be in class to learn the math, but does not collect the homework. Tests are exactly like his review the class before and are not hard.
Really cool dude. Makes calculus very easy and straight foward for you. Has good review session the class before. Hw assigned every class but not collected. Exams are similar to the review.
Okay. Seriously I'm REALLY bad at math. But after taking Professor Goldman I just found it SOOOOOO easy. He's so clear and teaches amazingly. Only if all the professors were like him! He gives 3 exams, no homework and he doesn't collect them or grade them. Please take him if you have a hard time in math, he'll make things so much easier!
Great professor! He made me fall in love with math!
Great prof. No question is too stupid and he is very kind/patient. 2 in class tests in total + a final. You will never be surprised on the test. Homeworks aren't graded/turned in. Definitely take him. Lecture can get a bit dull but that's about it. Everything else is great. If you show up to class and pay attention, do your HW, you get an A 100%.
Not just an excellent professor, but excellent teacher. Goes concepts multiple times, review heavy before exams, and answers questions politely and effectively. A very nice person who made calculus very easy. Try and get a seat in one of his classes.
Professor Goldman is one of the best Math Professors Queens College has to offer. He's highly capable to teach higher level math courses. Also he's very caring for his students and will stop and explain the topic over again if you don't understand it. His test are based off the reviews he does in class, also I say it's important to do the hw.
One of the best.
Very good professor!!! Caring, funny, polite, and very chill. He tries his best to make harder concepts be as digestable as possible.
Great math professor. If you don't understand something he will politely explain it in another way. Administers homework every class but is used for practice and not graded. Any questions about homework are gone over in the beginning of class. Three midterms and one cumulative final, which was a little tricky, but overall everything was fair.
Fabulous professor! For comp sci math, some topics are complicated. It's a different type of math but Goldman breaks down every topic into little pieces and makes it easy for students to understand. You can ask him any questions you have on any topic and homework and he will explain in depth. 2 tests and a final. Study ALL notes. Recommend 100%.
One of the best professors at Queens College would love to take him again for a tougher course
Clear, smart, and fast paced. Pay attention, carefully, and there won't be any problems. Tests are in blue books, like 5-10 questions. Always willing to go over anything you need explained... I mean it. No question is too stupid. And there have been many, many stupid questions this semester... but he handles them like a champ!
Professor Goldman is brilliant. I've never had a math professor that was able to explain complex topics so clearly and thoroughly. He is undoubtedly the best option for MATH 120 at Queens College, and I highly recommend taking him.
Let me start by saying that I do NOT understand math. Prof Goldman explained the material so that I was able to grasp it and pass, thankfully. Would definitely take him again, if possible. 3 exams (20%) each, online HW (10%) and cumulative departmental final exam (30%) - which actually had multiple choice questions, making it much easier.
Prof. Goldman clearly and thoroughly explains the concepts taught in class. He makes the sometimes difficult concepts easy to understand. He teaches exactly what is taught in the textbook, but in a much more comprehensible fashion. Tests are very straight forward, if you know the material you will do great. He is a very lenient grader.
Great math teacher. Explains why he's doing what he's doing for each problem, so you really grasp the concepts instead of just memorizing rules. Pay attention in class and do the homework and you'll get an A. Note- he doesn't answer emails even though he tells you to email him with questions, so be sure to ask him in class.
He's honestly one of the best professors I've had a pleasure of having so far in Queens College. Sometimes I wonder what he is doing here even. The way he taught Math 120 cemented my foundation on the things I needed to know. He is a patient, concise and funny professor. I wish he taught more upper-level Computer Science courses.
Professor Goldman is the gold standard. The way he teaches is so clear thus transitioning from in person to online during covid was no issue. Genuine guy answers all questions no attitude simply put just a great professor. Need more like him in QC
Enjoyed his class. He's clear and concise with what we're supposed to know for the exams. He tends to cover a lot of material per lecture so make sure to show up to class. He also was one of the few professors that made a smooth transition to online classes during the whole COVID19 crisis. I highly recommend taking him.
Amazing lecturer and guy. But I felt that he procrastinated hard when grading things. Didnt get second exam grade after the final exam. overall, hes fair on exams and I wish he taught higher level math courses.
I had him for Math 120 and he's a great professor. He does take a very long time to grade exams though. He also takes long to reply to students emails. Other than that he's the best professor you can take for 120.
Spring 2020 - Was in person then transferred to online learning due to COVID. Good professor for discrete math. Tests are manageable if you take the time to study and constantly practice to understand the material. Easy 100 on the essay assignment.
He is a gem in disguise. He was added last minute, but e is so good at lecturing. He knows what to do, and how to help students. Study the textbook, because it will help you get a hang when youre test taking. His reviews are good but make sure to practice. He breaks everything down 20% each on his syllabi. Truly worth taking.
An amazing professor at the math department at QC. Discrete math is a hard field of mathematics but he explains it well and his tests are straightforward though challenging at times. There is a writing assignment which tremendously boosts your grade. He does take a long time to grade and post test results but overall a great choice for MATH120.
Professor Goldman is hands-down the best math professor I've ever had, his grading criteria is clear, he explains topics in a very clear and concise manner, and he is extremely kind. If you have the chance to take Professor Goldman, please take it!
He is really a respected professor in QC. His lecture is clear, explains everything clearly. I took his summer classes. His tests are really easy (you can find everything in his lecture). 3 tests and 1 written assignment (2 pages). Written assignment is 20% of this course. But he took lots of time to grade tests. Final isn't cumulative.
This guy is an absolute gem! Discrete Math is hard depending on how you approach it but Prof. Goldman made it clear as day with his explanations. Lectures are clear and recorded so they are accessible anytime. Grade consists of 4 things: 3 straightforward exams and class participation. Do yourself a favor and take Goldman, itll be worth.
One of the best teachers I've had period. Very kind and caring guy that will answer any questions you have. He gives lots of homework problems but his tests are based heavily off of them so try to do most of them. The class isn't super easy but it's not hard either. GO TO HIS REVIEWS BEFORE HIS EXAMS.
His lectures were great. most of the exam questions were based on the lec & hws which was a lot of them. The major con is he never grades anything until the last day of the semester during the finals. So we don't know where we stand in the class. Most of us thought we were doing good until we got our final grades back & it was completely different.
Best professor for 120! Very understanding and does a great job explaining course content. Brings up Cyberchase sometimes and he makes class enjoyable.
By far one of the best professors I've had, His lectures are easy to understand since he explains theses concepts in great detail and would stop to explain what students did not understand. I would 100 percent take this professor again.
My favorite professor. Super nice and reasonable, he just wants you to do well. Makes sure everybody understands before moving onto the next topic. Explains each topic well and thorough with definitions and repetition. Homework is optional, only assigns it for your own review. Tests are reasonable, not extremely difficult.
Super clear, takes a lot of time explaining examples, tests are straight forward and he is a very light grader. As long as he sees that you know what you're talking about, he gives almost full credit even if the answer is wrong. Straight up the goat!
He'll answer questions if you have any, but bc of the flipped learning you watch vids at home and then come to class with questions (in theory), so he doesn't teach but when he answers questions they just make sense. HW and quizzes tend to be a lot at some point, but content overall is not too bad. two tests, final, hw, class preps, and quizzes
Honestly the course MATERIAL is pretty difficult and tricky but if you put in the effort you'll realize his quizzes and midterms are way easier than the webwork and other professors who teach the subject. Make sure you ace everything because the final will be more difficult than everything else you've seen. Otherwise, amazing guy 5/5.
the best math teacher I've had in my entire life. my last calculus teacher made it seem like rocket science but this guy made it seem as easy as 2+2. plus he made his exams similar to the stuff we do in class which makes his class even easier
Professor Goldman is an amazing guy and a very good teacher. He will never belittle you or make you feel bad for not understanding a concept, no matter how simple. Classes like 120 are inherently tricky, I also had Goldman for 141, where I also was able to understand much better. Just take notes and study for exams.
The ratings don't lie, vulture for enrolling into his class if you can, trust me, it's worth it
He's one of the best professors at Queen's college, the ratings don't lie. Math 120 was much easier because he taught it. The curriculum may have changed, but he still takes his time and thoroughly goes over everything. Always is there to help and answer your question, take him! The goat for a reason. Participate in class, do your work, and study.
This guy is super solid and is a great lecturer. He will make it easy for you to understand the material. If you don't understand, he can go over it with you before or after class or during office hours. He is also very lenient test grader. Only real issue is he seems to grade late and he doesn't always respond to emails.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! If you ever get a chance to take this prof. don't miss it! He is really good at teaching the material and always makes sure the students are following and understand the concept. The quizzes are a easy pass if you're following the content taught in class and he gives a review sheet before the midterms which is very helpful.
He gives very straight-forward and easy to follow lectures, and then he tests you on the material that he taught (which seems to be a novel concept in this math department). He genuinely wants the students to learn. I took 141 and 143 with him and I'm so glad I did!
THIS GUY IS THE BEST TO EVER DO IT. HE MIGHT NOT RESPOND TO YOUR EMAILS THO. THE VIDEOS TALK NONSENSE BUT HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!
His lectures are the best. When it comes to math I get distracted alot and cant focus but his lectures are literally sooo easy to understand. He explains the most complicated topics in such a simple way. Take him!!
this professor did not seem to prioritize student support, and despite seeking tutoring multiple times, I unfortunately did not succeed in the course. It was a challenging experience, and I would recommend prospective students to consider their options carefully before enrolling in this class
Challenging course with rigorous exams. Despite diligent study and tutoring, my performance fell short of expectations. Seeking a lighter approach. If you want grade A DO NOT go for his classes.
I had Professor Goldman for Math 132 and I took Math 131 a couple of years before this class so I thought I might be pretty lost but I was wrong. His lecture were very helpful and the test were very doable. He gives a generous amount of partial credits and has a review session before every test which I found to be very useful.
Horrible professor, his grading criteria is unclear and the exams he gives out are unfair. Also goes off topic sometimes during his lecturers.
I really did my well but unfortunately I got bad grade even I joined many tutors but that doesn't works
Overwhelming workload with minimal support. Lacks student engagement and assistance. Not recommended if seeking a supportive learning environment. Avoid him even if your life is relevant to him! With him your hard work is just useless.
Professor does not provide timely grading feedback. Grades are often delayed until the end of the semester, making it difficult for students to gauge their progress and improve. More consistent and timely grading would be very helpful.
I'm currently taking MATH131,I don't understand the way of teaching ill soon drop the class, I'll try to take this class with another professor in fall samester.
Took spring 2024, stay away he's just talking with himself while teaching and super hard to respond to email. If you want to learn by yourself take him, otherwise don't not take him you'll have hard time.
Syllabus is not cleared, I'm student of engineering and I'm really good at math, but when I saw the syllabus I got demotivating alot during thr first day of claaa
I registered for mat115 but dropped the class yesterday although some reviews mentioned it was easy, I found that the syllabus wasn't at the college level. The professor seemed to follow their own syllabus rather than one made by the department avoid asap
Professor does not grade assignments consistently during the semester. Feedback is often only provided at the end, making it challenging for students to know where they stand and how to improve. Timely feedback is essential for effective learning! Never reply to students emails.
He is very good at teaching Math.
I tool math132 for my business major and received a C grade while putting in a lot of effort, many students are just happy to pass the class, but I'm always focused on really learning material.unfortuanlty, I didn't feel like the teaching method was effective. Think before registering the class
Excellent math instructor! His teaching is concise and straightforward. Attending his lectures and completing homework will prepare you for his exams. His grading system is very fair. The topics in the class are not overly complex, but practice is needed as with learning anything. Highly recommend the class with this professor.
I took discrete mathematics this summer but ended up dropping the class. The tests and homework felt quite different from what was covered during lectures.
It was tough to learn in this class lots of homework and exams didn't match the material covered in the class
The course was very challenging due to the heavy lecture material. It was difficult to keep up with the pace and understand the concepts being taught. The professor's teaching style didn't provide enough clarity or support, making the course overwhelming. I would not recommend this class if you prefer a more manageable workload
The instructor struggles with effectively teaching mathematics and often deviates from the provided syllabus. This results in disorganized lectures and important topics being skipped, which makes it challenging to follow the course and prepare for exams. More structure and adherence to the syllabus would greatly improve the learning experience.
This course was highly unorganized. The professor crammed both exams into the last two weeks. He spent the entire semester solving from notes on the board, making it difficult to understand how we were graded. I wouldn't recommend this class.
Taking this course felt like being lost in a maze with no exit. The material could have been interesting, but the way it was presented made it impossible to connect the dots. Stay away!
Professor Goldman is very easygoing and gives great lectures. There are three exams for the class, and homework isn't mandatory. He reviews challenging problems during class, and provides review sessions to answer questions to prepare for exams.
The professor didn't offer much feedback on assignments, so it was hard to know how to improve.
The professor's teaching style was very theoretical with little connection to practical applications. It was hard to see how the material would be useful outside of the classroom, which made it difficult to stay motivated. Stay away!
While the professor clearly knew the subject matter, the lectures were often monotonous and lacked interaction, which made it hard to stay focused. More engaging teaching methods would have improved the learning experience.
Professor assigned an excessive amount of reading each week, but barely touched on it in class, making it feel like busy work rather than a learning tool
The professor gave very little feedback on assignments, making it hard to understand how to improve or where I went wrong. I swear I'm saying truth about this professor please all good reviews are done by the professor, don't take him.He never respond to emails and he won't help you where you confused with material.
Being math fiveth semester student having grade A in my all math courses in this Queens College. With this professor, I received C+ because he expected us to know things that weren't taught in class, and the exams tested us on material we hadn't covered. If you want to learn and need good grade take prof. Bryan instead. What a beta!
Hard to understand and doesn't explain material well. Professor Goldman requires strict adherence to rules, even for things like leaving Zoom sessions. He also delays responses, making it difficult to handle emergencies during class. Be prepared for a stressful experience.
Taking Professor Goldman's class was one of the most discouraging experiences. His grading is harsh, and he offers no constructive feedback to help students improve. He's dismissive of questions, making it hard to understand his confusing instructions.
Goldman's teaching style is the worst, and he's unapproachable. He doesn't allow much room for student participation and gets defensive if you ask for clarification. His lectures are poorly structured, and he often forgets important points, making the class frustrating.
Why my review has already deleted after I completed the course this summer?Goldman you need to change your name to deludeman instead that will be much better. This is not Israel to delude everyone here this is free land country my bro, the tactic you use, please use it to your parents, don't report bad reviews deludeman be respectful as other human.
This class had potential, but the exams didn't seem to match the lecture content. The grading felt overly difficult, too. Please don't take him even if your life depends on him.
The lectures often felt disorganized, which made it hard to follow the material. While the professor is knowledgeable, the lack of structure hindered my ability to keep up with the coursework.
Professor Goldman is a tough grader. Even though I put a lot of effort into my assignments, he seemed to expect a level of analysis that wasn't clear from the lectures or materials. If you take his class, be prepared to put in extra time for studying and assignments.
While Professor Goldman is knowledgeable, he often doesn't communicate expectations clearly. I found myself confused about what he wanted from us in assignments, which made it difficult to know how to succeed in his class. I recommend asking for clarification early on.
Professor Goldman doesn't engage with students much at all. He tends to lecture straight through the class without asking questions or encouraging discussion. It feels like he's talking at us rather than teaching.
He gives an overwhelming amount of homework and reading assignments. If you're looking for a reasonable workload, I highly recommend choosing a different professor.
Had him during the summer session. Wasn't very accessible outside of class but he did grant extensions on hw. Some lectures seemed very rushed, but he did a good job giving individual feedback.
This class is flipped learning so you watch videos at home. He explains the hw if you don't understand and he grades exams generously. I'd take him again
Exceptional teacher and one of the best math professors at QC. They're very good at explaining abstract topics, and making things understandable to all. The required videos for the class can be a bit confusing but he will precisely explain everything to a tee, and will never make students feel bad for asking questions during class.
The GOAT. Unmatched teaching style. Simple, yet effective.
he's Him. 3 exams, drops the lowest. Gives review sheets prior to the exam, basically the exam. Go to lectures and do the HW's and you'll be cooking. If only he was allowed to teach linear . . . :(
Professor Goldman isn't a bad professor, even though Math 120 classes are flipped. He takes the time to briefly review the material and address questions. However, he was often late returning grades; for example, we never got our second exam back. Despite the delays in grading, he's overall a decent professor who cares about his students.
he's really good. take math 120 with this professor and you won't regret it
he's the best professor for math120 at qc. shares notes and practices problems in class to help you understand videos
Super hard to be his student, he never care how hard you're working. He never listen what you ask during the class. The worst professor.
The course was really easy. Just attend his review class because the exam questions are exactly the same as those covered in class. His lectures were very helpful, and he makes an effort to explain all the concepts. However, he doesn't curve, so you'll get exactly what you put in.
This professor is very hard to follow. Their explanations are unclear, and when students ask questions, they often get vague or dismissive answers. The homework is much harder than what's covered in class, and there's little to no support outside of office hours, which are very limited.
Professor's explanations were unclear and rushed. Didn't feel supported in the course.
Homework assignments were overwhelming and didn't align with lecture material. Frustrating experience.
Lecture notes were disorganized and hard to follow. Professor seemed unprepared for classes.
Office hours were unhelpful. Professor didn't take the time to address my questions or concerns. Eventually dropped never go for his course.
Professor's teaching style was too theoretical, lacking practical applications. Made the course feel irrelevant.
Grading was inconsistent and biased. Felt like some students received unfair advantages.
Course materials were outdated and didn't cover key topics. Professor seemed disconnected from the field. With so much hard work still I wasn't able to pass.
Professor's attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. Made it difficult to ask questions or seek help.
This guy's great!!! Highly recommend taking his class if you need to take 120!
This guys awesome! Take his class!
Good Professor
Having bad experience while taking math
Im really confused as to why this professor has such low ratings. He is such an amazing math professor and I he wants to always help. He takes time and makes sure we understand everything. His review sheets are the same as the exam just mixes the questions a little. I would take this professor over and over again because ik I would pass his classs!
This Steven took him this semester, I was about to die. I don't know why he got good reviews his lectures often felt rushed and unclear, making it difficult to follow key concepts. Exams were more challenging than expected compared to practice material. Limited structure in class made learning stressful rather than supportive.
