Really funny teacher! He can be mean if you don't do your homework then ask stupid questions. He's a smart-ass teacher (in a good way). Tests are moderately easy if you do ALL of your homework. Good guy, highly recommended.

The guy is a cmplete ****. He has no respect for students. Makes people stupid when they ask question. Makes rules as he goes along.
He is the biggest jerk to every live. He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Avoid him like the plague. Do whatever it takes not to have him.
He's a jerk, who make you look stupid when you ask him a question about the homework.When he does answer your question,he takes short cuts to solve the problem causing a big confusion how the answer was conjured.He does not know how to teach at all.
Well, I think he's not that bad. At least his quizes and tests are pretty easy and strict -forward, not as tricky as others'. You will be fine if you do all the homework. :)
He can be mean, but he is understandable at times. He is like a nice giant who is tough on the outside and soft on the inside. Tests and quizzes are very easy if you study what he reviews. Perfect attendence is a must.
Headly is a pretty good teacher. He's even funny. Tests and quizzes are a breeze. You've got to be on top of things to get an A in his class.

he is a horrible teacher who expects everyone to be as smart as him. he picks his favorites and doesn't even teach. the trick to his class is to learn how to study on your own and understand the book yourself. i regret having him as a teacher
No matter how hard I worked and tried to study his mockingly cynical attiude and difficult exams (40+ questions!, NO Calculators) were just too much for me and countless frustrated students in class to handle. Hope I can do well in his summer course......
I just finished taking his summer course and I think I passed his class. If your like me and hate math, expect to repeat the course like I did.

He's pretty nice despite all of the nasty things he said. He took in 80 students because he didn't want to turn anyone away. He's strict, so many don't listen to him just remember you're also responsible for your grade, not just him.
I took his class for this Summer session.His teaching is diffcult to understand!!Tests and quizzes are hard.His explaination for this is to make you to take the course again so the school can earn your money through this...haha...what a guys!!

Oh My Gosh! Mr Headly is the most boring teacher I ever had. I agree with most of those students who rated him that. I just took his class last Fall quater becuase I didn't go on this website to check him out so I had no idea how he was.Although he's boring but nice and helpful...lol, poor guy
He's very intimidating at first. A lot of people drop the first day bc they're scared of him. Once you get use to him, he's not so bad. But this class takes effort!
Mr. Headley only likes and responds nicely to the students who are good at trig. Otherwise when you ask him questions, he makes you feel stupid. Even though, there are times when he can't solve the trig problems himself. Don't take him if you think you might have a hard time understanding trig.
He's a really good teacher once you get past his "I've been teaching for way too long" attitude. There are certain "types" of students he doesn't like...but lucky for me I'm not one of them! =) Easy B in the class without trying too hard.
Yeah he's pretty strict. Kinda mean, makes you feel dumb if you ask something. I had him in high school also @ Homestead, he did some pretty messed up things back there like throw thigns at people and stuff. I guess he's a good teacher if you really try, and if you pay good attention, but it's really hard.tells a lot of math jokes that only he gets
aWESOME TEACHER. wILL ANSWER ANY QUESTION YOU ASK. i GOT AN A IN HIS CLASS WITHOUT DOING HOMEWORK AND HE KNEW IT AND WOULD TEASE ME ABOUT, AND STILL HAV ME EXPLAIN PROBLEMS TO OTHER STUDENTS. ACED HIS FINAL AND ITS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOOK, ALL HE DOES IS CHANGE THE NUMBERS AROUND.
great teacher, tells lots of funny jokes. By the way Mr. Headley is my High school Geometry teacher as well. His quizes are easy and the test is take home. A very fair teacher and grader for such a challenging course. Anyway, my current grade is A+. Just work hard at home and listen carefully in class and you'll ace it!!

His attitude is bad, his explanations are more confusing than the problems, and his speaking voice makes any attempt at staying awake an uphill battle. The first exam he gave included material we haven't covered in the lesson plan, lectures, or even practiced. Plan on doing self learning. The man should not be teaching.
This teacher is pretty awful. He's rude, insensitive, and is so bland that the only thing that will keep you awake are the few jokes that you can actually understand. He only teaches what is required and the rest is up to you to teach yourself for the test! The one GOOD thing is as long as you'll try, you get one point for each problem on the test.
If you listen to his lecture you will get even more confuse. Rather go home and read the math book yourself you better off understanding than listen to him. NOT HELPFUL WHAT SO EVER. if you're stuck in this class, come to class to take the quiz, but don't pay attention. you're better off trying to teach yourself the material at home. doesn't use textbook in class. tests include problems from the wrong chapters, even ones he hasn't "taught" yet. The worst teacher I have ever taken. He teaches nothing during lecture and you have to self teach out of the book. Tests and quizes are completely different material than lecture or book.
He's not a very good teacher. I have taken up to Calculus in high school and when taking his class, I struggled. Everything must be exact, the way he wants it, if it's to the 10th decimal place on calculator, you must copy that on the test. He's happy to help you on HW, but he won't know what he's explaining, and will come up with random fomulas
Would not recommend this instructor. Does not have the motivation, energy, nor enthusiasm to teach students. Appears to teach the class for the sake of "getting by". Not a pleasant teacher at all.

Explanations are good and easy to understand. Homework is every other odd problem. He takes time to answer problems on the hw. Quiz at the end of the day, usually 1 or 2 problems, 3 at max. Tests are almost identical if not copied from the book's chapter tests. Don't sit near him, i think he attract flies....

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. doesnt teach at all. reads from book and rushes too because spends so much time on hw problems that dont even matter, like the graphing problems. Is rude and will put you on the spot. he is an A**HOLE.
He is the funniest teacher i have had at De Anza. He is very hard and strict the first couple days then gets easier. He is very straight forward with his tests. If you practice, know your material, and attempt the homework you will get a very good grade
5 pt quizzes daily. Make sure to keep up with hw cuz you get quizzed on them the next day. Steve is as helpful as the solutions manual. He regurgitates from the book. Doesn't teach much. To do well on the fairly hard tests, know all of the problems of assigned hw. 4 tests (100pts ea), lowest dropped, 1 final, 20 daily quizzes (5 pts ea)

Does not know the material himself. he struggles to do the hw problems with the class.He does not teach so you have to be able to teach yourself the material. He is rude and annoying. Don't take him unless you have no other choice.
Mr. Headly is coo, if u want a class thats not hella tense n u can kinda jus be in ur own world then take it haha, he keeps it somewhat humerous sometimes. i had him for 114 n i didnt evn buy a book but i got by. i wud take his class again
He does not teach in class (only discusses the problems we ask for, which is less than 10 questions in a 2-hour class) and his explanation is unclear. The easiness of the tests and quizzes is not consistent.(the avg of the 1st test is 93; but the avg the 2nd is just 72) You will be fine only if you are a good self-learner. DONT take him.
He just uses the book to show us what we have to study. His tests are not best on his lecture. some questions are out of the book. Beside that, you have to understand the material on your own. I don't recommond you to take him at all. He does't even know how to solve most of questions.

I think Mr. Headley's alright. He's pretty straight forward. Has a bit of a dry sense of humor, and has very little patience for ignorance, but if you can get past all that and be a good student, you'll do fine. He's there to teach students who want to learn, not students who want an A without earning it. You earn your grade. Fair and square.
He is a no bull professor. If you treat him with respect and hold your ground he will treat you the same way. If you try to pull the wool over his eyes he'll bite back. Very good teacher. I highly recommend
daily quizzes on previous section. If you do well, they'll help you're grade. He's a good teacher if you pay attention, take notes and asks questions. He really does make sure you understand it. Final is super easy and contains extra credit but he doesnt tell you. He puts on a harsh/mean front but he's pretty nice and funny.
I took him in winter 2010...and he's an amazing teacher with a good sense of humor...the best class i ever took at Deanza...he wants everybody to learn but you also have to make an effort to read something.
There's law and order in his class and I very well appreciate that. His class is more of a self learning class, but if there's any question, he puts his time into explaining it. He's funny and not that cruel.
He never collects HW. He just gives quizzes, but he goes over the HW each day in class, so when the quiz comes (end of class), it's your fault if you don't know how to do it. At the beginning of the quarter, he even gave us the problems that would be on the tests ahead of time. If you don't know the math after taking his class, it's your own fault.

Mr. Steven Headley is straight to the point. His dry humor could sometimes make the class fun. About 20 super easy quizzes, 3 midterms (simple). Quizzes and midterms are the easy versions of the homework problems. If you do your homework daily, it shouldn't be a problem. He wears a monster face, but deep down he's a nice fellow! Try his class.

He is not a very nice teacher, seems like a good person outside of class but not very approachable for help. Has a quiz every class period, sometimes two, will make you stay late after too, with no breaks in between. I would recommend to not take this teacher, he does not prepare any lecture material for the class, goes through the book and pwrpnt
If you take this class, you kinda have to teach yourself the materials. He goes through the material by powerpoint. The materials he shows is exactly what you see in the book though. You HAVE to go to class since there's a quiz everytime and quizzes are worth 100 points. He drops a test though which was good. Passed his class with a C,thankgoodness

Do not take this teacher he is by far the worst one I have ever taken. He goes way to fast through the material. He is extremely unapproachable. He skips a lot of the steps which makes it very difficult to keep up. Look for a a better teacher because this one is horrible!!!!
He is a bit forgetful and he makes mistakes, but he's willing to walk you through a problem. The class will be boring unless you take an active interest (ask questions, follow along with problems). Every day you go over homework, learn new material, and do a short quiz. You aren't graded on homework, but do it so that you're prepared for the quiz!
Senile professor doesn't give a crap about the questions you ask him. You can tell he just works for the money. He doesn't even know what day his final is scheduled for.. like wtf?? he made students take his final 2 days earlier than scheduled and he insisted he was correct. Save your money and GPA. Keep away from this guy everyone!
He can come off as a jerk but I like that about him. Very straight forward. If you don't struggle too much in algebra then take him. If you are a procrastinator, don't take him. You are responsible for doing the homework and he will not give any points for it. After all, this is college...
Mr Headley is a great teacher! He has a unique sense of humor and can come off as grouchy, but he is a really nice man. He absolutely loves math and will do his best to help you learn. He never takes attendance, but there is a quiz at the end of each class, so you have to show up regularly to get a good grade.
Point blank, do not take this teacher if you want to maintain your GPA and your love for math. Basic Trig shouldn't be hard as how he makes it. Does not provide lectures, HW points not awarded, and he does not work out problems on the board.
This teacher is nice; he always try to show every problem you ask. HOWEVER, homework points aren't awarded. QUIZ everyday. Lecture is a little boring. You must work on your own most of the time. He expects students to study from THE BOOK more than IN CLASS.

Really funny. Steve assigns homework, then next class is all about going over your homework to make sure you understood everything. At the end, you take a quiz over the material. You need to teach yourself from the book, but he will help you with anything you are struggling with. He's a really nice guy.

The class is quite easy because the professor goes over everything in class for you and gives you quizzes similar to the homework. However; he's a boring teacher and you'll find yourself falling asleep in class a lot.
He's really chill as a person, but horrible as a teacher. He teaches straight out of the textbook so you might as well just read it at home. Most of the time we have to help him out to solve a problem and he tends to skip steps in his explanations. His class is really not that hard if you're willing to self study.
I took his class for the first week of school and had to drop the class, because his teaching wasn't very helpful, and if you ask a question he answers you back as if you are stupid. He also skips steps when showing you how to solve a problem.
