Keffer is great! This was far and away one of the coolest classes I have ever taken; but I like bugs! The onus of learning is on the student in this class; he lone huge lecture exam, one practical exam and the rest of the grade is a collection; you have to pretty much teach yourself how to run the dichotimous keys and identify the specimens.

Keffer was a great teacher when it came to presenting the material. However, his tests were unnecessarily hard. I studied every day for his class but somehow he still managed to trick me with the way he worded his test questions. There are 2 huge tests that cover so much information and then the final. Study Study Study

Dr. Keffer is definitely a qualified professor, he is smart and really knows his stuff. I studied on average between 2 and 4 hours per day, and it still wasn't enough to do well. He is an awesome lecture professor, but wouldn't recommend him for lab.

This is a really hard class to begin with, but Keffer does a great job in covering the information. I studied everyday for at least an hour or two and managed to get a B in the class. If you are willing to put in the work, take him! I also had him for lab, but if you don't like him asking you all of the questions, don't take him for lab!

I loved this class, and although it was a TON of material to cover, I had no problem and actually got A's on all of my Lecture tests. He explains everything very well and makes class interesting and often funny. He is interactive and enjoys his job. TAKE HIM it will make learning all of this material sooo much easier

Anatomy is rough! There is a lot of material to cover and the tests are critical thinking. Keffer is a great speaker and lecture is very interesting. Prepare to give up any free time to work on this class. Anything mentioned in class is fair game for the tests.

Keffer is literally the greatest teacher in the world. While Anatomy itself is NOT easy and you have to work very hard, Keffer makes the class so much easier by following that book he made for the course. He is HILARIOUS and made lecture interesting/fun. I actually miss class now. If you need to take BIO290 you neeeed Keffer for lecture!!!

LOVE KEFFER! The class was huge, but I felt like he was teaching me personally. Gets everyone engaged, and really tries to get you to understand anatomy! He's so funny, and smart, and really keeps you interested. Tests aren't easy, but not awful either. Take Keffer!!

This class sucks. I'm really sorry you have to take anatomy. It will cost you blood, sweat, and many tears welling up from your lacrimal glands. However, if you go to Keffer in office hours and show that you've been working and will work even harder, he is very willing to help; he's quizzed me, relectured some topics, he helped however he could.

It is a hard class, but it is possible to get an A or do well if you study every day. I never went to office hours but his lectures were straightforward. Definitely write down EVERYTHING he says because it WILL be on the test even if it seems minor. Take him!

Keffer is pretty awesome, though I had him for my HSC minor capstone, which has ended. He is super intuitive and intelligent though! And not at all irrational - pretty understanding guy. Take him!

Keffer is super helpful and prepares each student very, very well for exams in lab. Anatomy isn't easy by any means, but he has a great sense of humor and is always willing to help. He makes sure his students know everything. If you put the time into it EVERYDAY, it is not hard to get an A (just don't fall behind).

This guy is hilarious and I actually enjoyed coming to class every day. He makes the class fun and is crystal clear about the material. He really cares about student success. If you sit in the back, he makes an effort to assure your participation, even in a large lecture room class. TAKE HIM.

He is an awesome professor with a great sense of humor! You definitely have to go to class everyday and he requires you to get his book to take notes in but he really knows his stuff and tries to make it fun and interesting. I'm so glad I took anatomy with him. But it is a VERY hard class, time consuming and EXTREMELY difficult to get an A..

Keffer was my absolute favorite person. He made one of the hardest classes I've ever taken fun! The lectures were long, but never boring. He kept the attention and made anatomy fun! The material was hard, and he definitely made you work for your grade, but was extremely fair and was always welcome to help in his office hours. LOVE HIM.

Keffer was the best professor I have ever had at JMU. The class is huge but he makes it super easy to pay attention and stay engaged. He made anatomy as fun as possible. The test are tough and the class requires a ton of studying if you plan to do well, but it is extremely fair. I would choose Keffer 10 times out of 10. Amazing professor.
