If you get the material, he's easy. Otherwise, he's a challenge

Chill class, very smart guy, very little work
He's the best Professor I've ever had
Has a very helpful way of teaching.
very good teacher. sometimes seems too good and one gets bored.
Not nice at all.. don't ever try to ask him a question!
Thanks Yo.

Even though he's a little bit eccentric, Landsburg's classes were always fun and interesting.
Good teacher. If you go to class you will really understand the subject. His tests are screwed up and tricky though - the TAs don't even know how to do the problems so never go to recitation.
he's really brilliant, recitations are useless, interesting class but HARD.
has a way of making econ the simplest, most easy to grasp subject ever. pleasure to go to his class.
great prof, makes class fun, easy, and interesting. one of those profs i could learn anything from if he was teaching!
Amazing teacher. His lectures are extremely clear, and he has a high level of expertise.
**** PROFESSOR!To explain anything he goes around so much!!!HE's arrogant too!!!

Amazing professor. Justifiably cocky. You can tell that he knows his **** and that he knows he knows his ****. Great professor. Got nothing but praise for this man.
He's smarter than you.
Intelligent, great teacher, but not that helpful outside of class. Also quite conservative (not all economists are!)
His tests are REALLY hard, but his lectures are amazing.
Forget psychology. if you want to understand human behavior, take his macro course.

His tests are extremely difficult, but if you pay attention in class and do the homework religiously you will need little preparation for any of the exams. I know this for a fact - I took his course twice, failed when I didn't go to class and aced it when I did.
He knows his micro thru and thru, and he's excellent at teaching it. He can be a bit cool when you go to him with questions though. Overall, I learned so much from his class, and the way he explains theory.
Not sure whether to take this course? Well let's draw a supply and demand graph...
a very blunt and no-**** type of guy which may come off as arrogance sometimes. very entertaining - I would go to his class for fun. Overall, an awesome teacher
HIGHLY recommend taking this class. Landsburg is very knowledgable and an excellent teacher.
Hated econ in high school, took 108 grudgingly and was floored by this man. Taken 4 classes w/ him, have nothing but respect. Is hit or miss on 1 on 1. 1 day ignores your e-mails, next day will have coffee w/ you and really seem to care. Has made my life hell at times, but is why I am an econ major
Much better with Micro than with Macro
He is very intelligent and an excellent writer and orater. You need to do the homework to do well on the exams, though. His questions are a bit weird.
Good lecturer. Absurd tests. Harsh grader.
Tough grader, incredibly challenging exams, but great orator. Never fell asleep in his class. He's the only man I want to learn econ from.
Interesting lectures, but none are even close to the prescribed macro topics covered in normal intro courses. How can a macro class not have the Philips curve and other basic stuff like that? Stick to the philosophical micro classes, Landsburg.
Professor landsburg is a brilliant man, an excellent orator and a highly skilled writer with a bitting wit. One thing, his tests are difficult, very difficult.
Landsburg is a deity, and he treats himself as one. That said, he is VERY intelligent and gifted in economics, and this makes for some very fun lectures. Not the greatest TA's though:/ 108 was the only class I never even came close to falling asleep in, he keeps you hooked. Yes, the tests are hard. Yes, he literally wears pajamas for his lectures.
AWESOME professor. He explains things so well and always reviews previous classes before moving on. Don't even bother buying the textbook, you won't need it! Class, however, is mandatory!
Very easy to understand, very clearly explains concepts
Overrated. Put me to sleep. Made it a point to make the class completely math deprived. Talks a lot about cabbage. Very harsh grader.
Brilliant man. Easy class, easy grading. I never thought that econ would ever be an interesting topic. Just fantastic
Landsburg is sharp and a decent lecturer. That said, he is caught up in a fantasy-world of neo-classical orthodoxy wherein the sum of human knowledge can be turned on its head by a handful of unrealistic assumptions and ceteris paribus clauses. Otherwise, the class is pretty decent, if not a little demanding (pun intended).
He is a great professor, probably the best I've had so far. The material is presented in a very clear fashion. He definitly is one of the more tought graders I've encountered.
To start i think some of his lectures are quite fun. I usually always attended becuase he often goes off on tangents. That being said if you do not go to class you will miss something on the exam. Word to the wise for students, do not take this class light hearted. I anticipated an A for 108 and go a B-! This is def. not the best class 4a cluster!!
One of the most arrogant professors I have ever met. He thinks so highly of himself that he rips you apart if you ask him a question. His exams are very difficult and lectures dont prepare you for the tests.
This professor knows his stuff. Not only that, he can explain any concept with extraordinary clarity. I had no intention of being an econ major prior to his class, but Landsburg has changed that.
the man, the myth, the legend, Landsburg
Seriously harsh grader. Does not believe in partial credit. Do not be surprised if you think you know the material, get to the 3 question exam and find that it's all curveballs. Three people in our class (not me) got 0's out of 120. That's rough grading. Excellent lecturing though
Very ignorant and very hard professor, does not hesitate to fail students and not friendly when you approach to ask questions. however he is very smart and knowledgeable about many topics, just don't expect an A
Has a very distinct, pragmatic way of thinking. For those who appreciate Calculus or Logic in general, the class is very easy.
This man is unbelievable. He is a brilliant, extremely concise lecturer who is not afraid to wear his pajamas to class... every single day. He hates when students talk to him individually. He is ridiculously conceded. You must go to class to get notes. I wish I could tell you how to do well, but I took it pass/fail out of interest in the subject.
Landsburg is a great lecturer, but his test are overly hard and one error could completely screw you over. He is also not very easy to approach outside of class.
Material isn't too bad, though he is not the most interesting lecturer by any stretch. VERY tough grader. Know your stuff and then some to do well in the class. Disappointingly, he is not friendly at all one on one. Will not take any more Landsburg classes after this regardless of what is offered.
Every person I know has found this professor's exams to be pretty easy, as long as you come to class and pay attention. At any rate, they're much easier than Rizzo's, who switches with him every semester, so if you have to take the class (108 or 207), take Landsburg's. His lectures are not "exciting", but extremely precise and useful.
Best prof!!
Best class and professor in the 7 semesters I've been at UR. Super intelligent and really wants to help. If you go to class, do the homework, and study a lot, this class is great-otherwise, his questions are really hard. Wish I could take more classes from Landsburg!
Very clear speaker but too tricky, yes, tricky but not that hard final. Take care if you are going take ECO207.
He is probably the best professor in terms of teaching in this entire department. His class is like a personal conversation, varied of pace depending on students' reactions. His class makes students fall in love with economics, not technical at all, but extremely logic. Everything he talks is in a very logic way. This is the best professor ever met
great lecturer, explains concept clearly and logically but REALLY HARD EXAMS. understanding only what he teaches in the class is not enough to help you get a good grade...
Very straightforward & logical. The material relies on a small set of formulas that are easy to understand. Work load is very small, except for exams. TAs are the most helpful resource in trying to understand material if confused. Tests are tricky, reading the book is not required but really helpful for those who are less economically inclined.
Very light work load, Difficult exams. Went to the TA's every week, because he is unapproachable. His lectures do not prepare you for the exam, he is interesting, but his exams are VERY difficult.
He wrote the book on economics, literally. He made us purchase his own text book. This man crystal clear and very boring. He definitely knows his stuff. He gives you practice tests so you know what will be on the exam. He doesn't give you solutions though so if you're not a smart cookie or if you don't have some good study buddies you're screwed
He should be doing honest work in a place where no one has to listen to him.
Landsburg is an excellent professor. His lectures are to the point and entertaining. Most of the test material comes directly from lectures, so there aren't that many curveballs. However, his final exam was difficult and kinda screwed me. All in all, though, great professor who is being ostracized by UR for being argumentative and intelligent.
One of the best professors I've had. His class his hard but not impossible. His lectures are extremely useful and the fact that he uses his own textbook helps. He is a very knowledgeable person and while he may seem unapproachable, if you have a legitimate question about economics he will be willing to help.
I like his class. It's clear and very helpful.
Very light work load, Difficult exams, Difficult Quizzes. Went to the TA's every week, because he is unapproachable. Has to time to be writing controversial blogs but not to meet with his students. His lectures do not prepare you for what you will be tested on neither the quizzes. He is smart, but his exams are VERY Difficult.
Great professor!! ECO 207 has been my favorite class so far. His tests are hard but fair. You must put a good amount of work into this class but well worth it. Highly recommend taking this class.
Landsburg's exams come directly from his lectures and only from his lectures so to do well in the class you must go to every lecture. That being said, if you go to every lecture the exams really aren't that difficult. Also the TAs can be very helpful and will go through the homework with you. An easy and interesting class.
He is one of the best professors in our university without doubt. However, the homework assignments are always confusing! And you have to buy a useless textbook for this class.
His teaching style is really good and makes everything clear to me. But his test is really challenging that you always wonder "Am I right" during the exam.
Every econ major (who's any good) should take 208, even if they're not pursuing the honors degree. It covers a wide range of cool andor useful topics in a very clear way. Landsburg is always a good lecturer but he's at his best in 208, probably because it's the most interesting material. (I've taken 108 and 207 with him as well; also good.)
So he's a brilliant professor but his tests are extremely hard. His questions really challenge you. That being said, some people get it and some people don't. You may get it and do well, you may not and fail. His lectures are awesome- definitely go to them.
Good Professor
Attend the class, get an A
He is the best Eco professor I have ever met. His class is not fun but well organized and the only thing you should pay attention to is to listen to his lecture carefully. Some people may think his exam is pretty tough while I think the materials it covers are all from his lecture. Overall, he is an excellent professor.
Really inspiring prof. His lectures are clear, entertaining, and really the only study material you need to go with the course. Just do it. Take all of his classes.
I had him for Eco 207. Professor Landsburg is a really really great teacher. He will explain the same material in different ways, and heavily emphasize what he needs you to walk away remembering. You need to do the homework if you want to excel in this class, but he is so organized that the notes you take should be enough to pass the exams.
I took ECO 108 and 207 with him. 108 with him is a lot easier than 207. He gives you all the tools you need to solve the exam in 108 but expects you to get good at his subject on your own in 207. He is a good but a dry teacher. If you take good notes, you will not need the book. Note: He uploaded the fall grade on Christmas.
Lectures were slightly interesting; definitely have to attend in order to do well in homework and exams. However, he is very very unapproachable and TAs do not do a great job of explaining. Kinda annoying that there are barely any resources available besides his textbook... which wasn't even mentioned in the class syllabus.
Good professor overall. The explanation is there, but he expects you to derive a lot for yourself. Doable class, but expect to study hard for the tests in order to get good grades.
He's a self-righteous condescending individual. He doesn't deserve to teach.
If you've taken any econ in high school, get ready to be bored out of your mind. This teacher, while ovbviously a smart man and a talented economist, is an awful teacher. His explanations are overly simplified and 2-dimensional and he teaches directly out of his own book. Learning is possible- you just have to do it without him.
If you have strange thinking, take his course. He is so mean. The exam is really strange. If u know all the knowledge and prepare for it, u still cannot get a good grade. His thought about economics is really strange and is really different with others'. I don't suggest choose his course.
Either you get the way he teaches Micro or you don't. And if you don't, you will most likely not do so well. You are graded by hw and a few exams. Landsburg may be a brilliant economist (Idk), but his class was disappointing/discouraging at best bc the exams weren't designed to accurately gauge what students learn from the lectures or the book.
Landsburg's lectures are pretty enlightening and I do believe he is a great economist. However, the tests that are given based on the material are very challenging and sometimes make you question about your critical thinking skills. If you have taken AP Micro in high school, be prepared for even harder material.
The truth is I was very excited to take this class but it was very disappointing. The exams are so impossible, nothing compared to what he teaches in class. He is not accessible and he does not care how you are doing in class. He is mean, and overall not a good teacher, he might know a lot about Economics, but he is NOT a good teacher.
Great teacher. Great man. This course taught me how to think.
I actually loved the exams. Each question was like a fun little puzzle that wasn't too hard if you knew the material. Because of this class, I am changing my major to econ.
This man has changed my life.
In my experience, has very little respect for students and likes to be controversial and offensive just for kicks, even though his students don't find it particularly funny.
"Awesome" just about says it. I thought I knew a lot of economics going in, but this class kept giving me new and better ways to understand things. I learned a ton.
A fantastic educator. Landsburg is able to deliver the material of this course in a very easy to understand way. He is well respected and will be able to answer nearly any question you have on the course or economics in general.
He has a clear thought of what he is teaching. Some people might think his exams are challenged compare to what he taught. However, he did teach evey basic principle need to use in the exams. And his homework is also helpful. I have to admit that if you work hard and follow the pace you should not find it is hard on the exam.
One of the smartest guy have ever met, grading based on exams only, but will bounce if you do nice homework. The course isn't hard if you participate the lectures, and the lecture videos are also available.
The man is a fantastic economist, but unless you have Einsteins ability to overcome academic question papers! do not take his class!
The lectures are fantastically clear and usually interesting. There is a lot of homework, but Prof Landsburg goes over every problem in class and explains exactly how to solve it. The exams cover exactly the same ideas and methods as the homework, so if you pay attention in class, it's easy to do well.
Exams basically determines your grade, specially the final. But if u understand each question in the weekly homework which will not count in your final grade, you will be able to solve them on the exams and get an A.
If you are interested in real Economics, only taking his lecture is not enough. What economic textbooks and theories tell you are often contradictory to what really happened in the world. But overall, Landsburg has done a good job in classes
Amazing lectures. So interesting, easily the best class I've taken at this school.
Amazing lectures but exams are way harder than the homework and very confusing. I advise that you do not take this class unless you absolutely have to and if you have to, work very hard to get good grades in your other classes so that this class doesn't do too much harm to your GPA because your grade in this class is very unpredictable.
His class is really inspirational! Best lectures of this semester.
His lecture is so great! I literally expect to take his class every Monday and Wednesday! Lots of inspiring cases introduced in class.
Great lecturer! Very inspirational, gives lots of real world examples to tie to microeconomic concepts. However, his tests can be improved where there's not too much ambiguity on how pts are awarded. His class is basically graded on 3 exams.. too much pressure on the student
Simply the best professor I have met at UR so far. His lecture is great because he explains things clearly, and he is super nice when you turn to him for help after class.
ECO207 with Landsburg will not be easy. He is a fantastic lecturer with decades of experience to share. You will learn so much about economics in class. Now his exams (100% of your grade) arent easy since they dont necessarily test if you just know the material or not. You need to do a fair amount of critical thinking to do well. Practice lots!
For students taking as cluster course, I strongly suggest you to think twice before adding this course. This course is nothing different from ECO108, i.e. learning repeated knowledge but A LOT harder exams. If you do not plan to invest excess amount of time in Economics, expect to have 50% grade or less in your exams and be prepared to retake.
Good lecturer and economist, but the exams (3 extremely difficult exams determine your grade) are crazy hard and this course will ruin your GPA. I'd avoid this course unless you have to take it or are very passionate about economics.
Professor Landsburg may be a well known economist, but his class is unbearable. I did okay in 108 with him and took 207 and devoted lots of time and still didnt pass. Exams are impossible as he tests you on your critical thinking skills, and not the course material. Dont recommend if you need Landsburg unless you have to take the class with him.
I feel sorry for all students who have taken or are planning to take Landsburg's ECO207. You basically wastes a whole semester of valuable time and get yur life ruined. His grading criteria is more like a lottery and god please stop all this nonsense. Good luck to you all, you are all talented students and will succeed in yur future career.
Trust me, you are more likely to get an A in the honored course than Landsburg's 207.
Spent time, got nearly 100% on midterms and received a B-. Hmmm.
AVOID. Period.
Ok Landsburg is not a bad lecturer. But his exams are HARD.. I know 3 people who failed ECO207 last semester and we went to every lecture and did all the homeworks. My point is no matter how well you know Microeconomics, you may fail the exams (100% of your course grade) and the class. Beware if you have to take this awful course.. otherwise avoid!
Just avoid and take Rizzo's 207. It's that simple.
His class tests your critical thinking rather than the concepts that you learn. You can do all the problems on the etxtbook but it will be useless if you dont reflect on what you did.
Just go take Rizzos. I love everything about this professor but not the final test. You either get it or none. I almost failed the course because of my test performance even though I understand all his concepts. Now Im retaking micro with rizzo and I feel so much relief.
Difficult class but worth it if youre willing to put in the effort. Make sure to do lots of practice problems before exams. The exams are difficult but doable.
He was an extremely tough grader and really unfair. Barely gave partial credit and wasn't very approachable after class. He also seemed to really enjoy roasting students.
Now that I am about to graduate, I can say that Eco 207 was the best course I took at the University of Rochester, and Professor Landsburg is the best teacher I've had anywhere, ever.
If you have the opportunity to take this class, do so.
He is a really good professor, and I highly recommend taking a class with him! I think I learned the most in his introductory courses and I really enjoyed his graph-based explanationsthey definitely helped to clarify and elucidate concepts. Most students Ive talked to enjoyed his class, but you do have to put in effort to get a good grade.
Professor Landsburg is an expert in economics and teaches the material well. He efficiently and effectively translates difficult concepts to allow students to perform well on very straight-forward exams. The class really is not too difficult if you apply yourself and try to understand the concepts. I really enjoyed taking ECO108 from Landsburg.
For Gives 0 partial credit on exams. Must read book, copy correct HW answers shown in class(Completing all these correctly can bump grade by .5 to 1.0 letter grade) & all he writes on board, do prac exams and go to review sessions. Get either A or F, but all based on you. Prac exams q's/HWK directly correlate to the topics you need to Ace class.
I dropped this class because almost everything in this class is a nightmare Not very respectful to students in his office hours and gave out exams testing stuff that makes no sense. For the sake of my time and gpa, I dropped his course.
After I blew an exam problem, he sent me a long email, with diagrams, explaining exactly where I'd gone wrong. He also told me the rest of my exam was great and I shouldn't be discouraged by this one mistake. I really appreciated this. Lectures are clear and sometimes fascinating. Best course at UR so far.
Going to class was actually fun. The lectures are very clear, with lots of interesting real-world examples. Also, he always hangs around after class to take questions, which is really helpful. Tests are pretty easy if you study, impossible if you don't.
Easy course material, doable exam, great lecture.
The content covered is pretty much the same as ECO108, but the homework and exams are much much harder. He only covers very basic examples in class, and you have to really practice to get much harder questions right on exams. The final is mad tough, and you're probably gonna get at least one impossible question on it.
Professor Landsburg's class is the better choice for ECO108 at U of R. He provides both a quantitative and theoretical foundation in economics, so you will be prepared for all other courses in the economics department. His lectures are very clear and easy to follow. If you learn and apply the basic rules he presents, you will succeed in the exams.
Professor Landsburg's ECO207 gives strong foundation to more advanced topics in the field of economics through easy-to-follow lectures. Although many found his exams tricky, the key to succeeding is being able to apply key facts that are repeated clearly in every lecture and when reviewing HW in class.
ECO208W is the most challenging but also the most rewarding course in the economics department. It is the class where you see the Armchair Economist at his finest, and you really learn how to think like one of the best economists out there. The topics in the class are relatable and make you see the world around you differently.
The class and professor will truly change your outlook on how the world works. If you want to know what Econ is all about, take this class. The material is easy to understand if you pay attention in lecture and make an effort to learn. There is not much homework but it is vital to continue to think about what was discussed in class.
Take landsburg if you hate yourself. Just kidding, take landsburg if you love math and are majoring in econ and suffering. Take Rizzo if you prefer a more abstract and accessible approach to economics. This class taught me some hard lessons. I burned out because I hated it. He and his style are not my preference. Be self-aware and save yourself
He is one of the smartest professors around. He will make you question simple things around you in a good way. His classes are more organized and structured which allows you to do well if you go to all the classes and review your notes. I was told his classes were math heavy but I would say they are more logic heavy than mathematical
Only two midterms and one final in his class count toward your final grade. It is and he always makes the test hard as hell. Not recommended to take his class.
People who got a bad grade come here to complain. Yes, I am, and trust me, u will be no exception. Ridiculous exam and grading. Ready to fail.
Professor Landsburg is excellent at presenting topics clearly, and answers all questions with as much explanation as is necessary. Tests are challenging but very fair, everything you need to learn is extensively covered in class.
As long as you understand his unique logic (may take some time), you will see that his logic is extremely clear and simple. It is very important to follow all of his lectures and logics, and this makes an A relatively easy. People who tend to fail are usually people who do not go to lectures or people who don't seek help when they don't understand.
His logic is extremely unique yet clear. This class is mainly graph-based and is easy for some people yet hard for others. Study hard makes an A easy. This course definitely gives a great introduction to microeconomics and some macro at the end of the semester. Worth the time to take this class with one of the most respected economists out there.
Ridiculously tough exams. I attended every lecture, understood every concept and did every homework and still got a B+ because I messed up one long question in one exam. The margin of error is razor thin. The class is very interesting, great intro to econ. Highly quantitative teaching style.
Amazing class, amazing professor. I learned so much and his lectures really stick in your memory. Class is homework based entirely; the work is very difficult but rewarding and doable. Anyone who wants a true in-depth understanding of micro-economics should take this class
I like this class because we only get a few webwork problems each week, and as long as you pay attention to the lectures, these problems are easy to finish. Exams, two midterms and a final, are fair. You do need to spend time review the course materials and do practice problems if you want to do well on these exams.
A different vibe comparing to Rizzo
He is a great lecturer and you do not need to use the textbook after watching the lecture he really covers everything there. The only concern for this course is that exams counts for 85% for your grade and they are pretty difficult. Still, the curve is good 85.1% is an A in this semester so I think overall thee course is great!
He knows what he is doing.
Professor Landsburg is one of the best and smartest professors here at U of R. His lecture is well-organized and inspirational. His logic is clear and easy to follow. Spend times on reviewing lecture notes and HW problems, then you will get a good grade.
Professor Landsburg shares a lot of inspirational stories in this course. He introduces several useful and also interesting topics which might change the way you think about economics and business. Definitely should take this course if you are interested in economics.
good teaching skills
He is a really good economics professor! His explanation and the logic of his lecture is extremely clear! I like economics because of him, and I need his rating to go up!
Lecture is good, but homework and exams are really tough... Insanely harsh grader on exam. Either you get the full credit for a question on exam or no credit at all.
Homework does not count towards grades. If you get a question wrong on exam, means that you did not pay attention in class or did not completely understand the questions you got wrong on your homework. I can tell that midterms are fair, and the grading is not that harsh as what you said. So it is surely your problem for not doing well on the exam.
This professor only gives a grade based on 2 midterms and a final. In these papers, he doesn't give any partial credit so it's very easy to mess up in one small area and get a 0 on that question. The concepts he teaches are not that hard but his explanation sometimes confuses me. I've understood more from TAs than him.
He's not as bad as people said, but you really need to hit the point to get a good grade. For his class, either you are an A student or a C student, and there are NO in between. Sometimes even F... There are no partial credit even if you demonstrate you understand some of the materials.
I am still waiting for my final grade for this class. But still, this is one of my favorite class and favorite professor. I like economics because of him.
Final grades are available. Again, this is one of my favorite class at UR. It has been my pleasure to take both 108 and 207 with professor Landsburg. I am not sure if he is still teaching ECO108 and ECO207, but if he does, you should definitely take economics classes with him.
His logic makes such little sense, and exam grading is actual crap, you either understand Econ HIS way or he fails you. But my biggest problem with him is that he doesnt post solutions for any previous exams he shares, nor does he tell his TAs about anything, so if they solve a question wrong and teach that, youll never know.
Not very accommodating when it came to COVID and quarantine. Also, 90% of lecture were very boring (even for someone who loves econ). Tests were very difficult but the curve was fair. Don't look into his background bc he has said some controversial things that you prob don't want to know about.
Final was nearly impossible! Econ is not just about understanding econ! You have to understand his logic, the way how he want you to do it. If you don't, good luck!
Professor Landsburg is definitely one of my favorite professors. His lectures are always fun, and he makes a boring economic concept very interesting. You will learn a whole new approach to microeconomics. Make sure to do your homework because those questions are very similar to exam questions.
He is a nice person and very approachable outside of class. However, his grading criteria is vague, and he has his unique way of solving problems and understanding economics. Highly recommend to do all the homework, but tests are much harder than that. His lecture is inspiring, but you do not need to attend if you just want to have a good grade.
Prof responded to "no partial credit" myth with some stats. Unfortunately, the data is likely to be biased. Even getting 1% credit falls into the "partial credit" category. It would be more convincing if the actual distribution of the grades is shown. His course might still be good, but I hope people correctly understand what to expect.
Fantastic genius! A true legend in Economics. If you study hard, put effort, and are good at math. You will definitely get an A. He is good at separating the hard-working and non-hard-working students. Grades will tell.
Very hard course, but he is good at explaining concepts. Lectures are enlightening, but homework is hard. This course is only open to those who have got an A/A+ in Landsburg's 207 course. So, you will meet the top students there. Students are amazing!
Landsburg is really smart, and the course content is quite fun. The course is 100% homeworks, so take it if for the low stress environment. The homeworks are a little challenging, but nothing absurd, and the grading is fairly generous. You have to do well in 207 in order to get into the course (you apply for it), but don't let that scare you away
Respected and well-known professor who is truly knowledgeable about economics. Might be a little controversial on his published books. Materials he teach is very clear and concise. Follows a nice logic and time line. Very well-structured lecture and information.
You have to understand economics through his own logic or else you won't pass. Grades are solely based on the two midterms and the final exam. Tests are hard.
You need to understand economics in his logic because his logics are logical and correct. Tests are awesome! Love this course
one of the best econ instructors I ever had. No slides in class, so you truly have to attend class to follow the material. He encourages discussion during lectures. Assignments are challenging, and there are no completely “standard” answers. You can only perform well if you read the materials and fully understand the concepts he explains in class.
