I'm taking his class now and I absolutely love it. He's young and cool! His class is very interesting and not boring at all. I wasn't so into Economics until now. All the work he gives is online, so that's homework and quizzes are online. He gives class assignements but he does not announce them, that's why attendance is mandatory. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Great lecturer, knows what he's talking about. Super logical and to the point. Uses online HW (very light). What you need to know for exams are very clear and from the text (tho his lectures pretty much covers everything you need to understand). Definitely recommending for friends.
Best teacher ever, even though you have to work pretty hard to pass his class he makes it fun. If you have no interest in economics you will after this class. All you need to do is listen to his lectures and take a few notes and study from them and you'll pass! %100 recommended!
This class is super easy if you come every day. Lehigh is the best professor I've had. He's super clear on everything and really knows what he's talking about. If you keep up with hw and invest the time in actually trying to understand it and the quizzes, you'll need very little studying outside of hw, quizzes, and going over notes before tests
his class is straight forward as long as you show up, as he goes over the material. do the online HW b/c its easy points. the tests can be tricky, but not impossible. he's a funny guy and makes the subject interesting unlike many econ teachers. show up and you'll understand the material with few issues.
I am enrolled in both Econ 100 and 102 for this semester with Lehigh and I am loving it! Attendance is mandatory since all his tests pretty much cover everything we learn in class. This is not an easy A class but you can do it if you are up for the challenge.HWK/quiz are online(very easy). tests are challenging but manageable.take his class!
It is a hard class but he helps you and makes it clear. Always replies to emails and is in his office hours
Very good teacher. Keeps class interesting, and doesn't pander for student's affection
This is a hard class but if you attend his class, take good notes, and do all HW and quizes online you will have a good grade. Mr. Lehigh is very approachable, helpful, fair and great teacher. One more thing is that if he offers any extra credit,do it. Good luck.
I loved taking this class with this professor. He is super clear and very organized. His lectures are never boring and he's always relating the concepts to real life. Economics has never been my 'thing' but he takes the time to teach everyone. He constantly stops and asks for questions and is very clear.
He is the best econ teacher I have ever seen. He doesn't use book, but he has a lot of notes. If u finish ur homework on time, u will have good grade.
extremely helpful (new) teacher! very structured class; every day lectures will cover everything you need to know for the homework (aka don't buy the book), and homework is the same as quiz. every quiz will be covered on the test.... random in class assignments to get class and attendance credit. one of the best teachers at csm, by far.
where do i begin... well lets just say he is probably the only professor who impacted my life. his knowledge for economics is so vast that i came to love it myself. first off lets just say econ isnt what u think it is econ consists of science, math, psychology, history, govt everything. MR.LEHIGH IS THE BEST PROFESSOR take him!!!
his looks definitely get in the way when trying to understand what hes teaching! he is smart and knows his stuff! take his class!
I took his macro class last semester and now taking micro with him. Very good teacher! I thought the class was easy but I know it can be challenging for some. He is very clear about what is expected of you. Show up and do your part and you should get a good grade. Very easy to talk to and has a thorough understanding of economics.
Super helpful! Even though I am no Econ master I enjoyed going to class. If something is hard he is willing to explain it to you in office hours until you understand it! Loved this guy! Seriously one of the few amazing and helpful teachers at CSM
The best econ professor CSM has to offer. The class can get difficult, but he is willing to help you out. He takes attendance here and there, but i felt the need to go everyday because he throws out random classwork and you don't want to miss a lecture. Online hw and quiz. 3 exams total. Show up, pay attention, look over your notes, youll get an A
Mr. Lehigh may be intimidating at first, but he's really a nice guy and he's always willing to help. The course was tough since Micro itself's tough. Mr. Lehigh is a really good professor. He definitely knows his stuff and doesn't use books or whatever during lecture. Just a paper. If you'll be taking ECON, take him!
I took Prof Lehigh for both Micro&Macro, prior to taking his class I was pursuing a degree in bus.acct. After, I switched to bus econ. He is an outstanding prof, which is rare these days. He lectures the material in a way that is exciting and involing. He provided me w/ a great foundation for my upper division classes. Highly reccommend him.
Outstanding instructor. I must admit that he does come off as agressive at first. He talks loud and quick, but other than that, simple the best econ prof at CSM hands down.
He's one of the best teachers I've ever had. He teaches really well, his lectures are engaging. His class is not easy though and if you miss one, it's sort of hard to keep up. Although we don't use the book at all for his class specifically, his lectures are all completely based on the book. So my advice would be to absolutely READ THE BOOK.
The best economics professor at CSM hands down.
Even though this is my second semester of attending CSM, I can already tell that Lehigh is going to be the best teacher I've ever had.His passion for Economics resonates through his lectures and he is willing and able to further explain complex concepts during office hours and meetings. The class is quite hard, so prepare for endless studying.
This class is definitely challenging. I didn't have him for Econ 100 which had me at a disadvantage. He talks fast and it was hard for me to grasp the concepts the first time around. Take good notes. He knows what he's talking about and is really smart. I did better by going to the Econ tutor, but his office hours are available as well
Professor Lehigh is the man. Period. I took his ECON 100 class too & thoroughly enjoyed his interesting lectures. Lehigh cares deeply about Economics & the environment where education is taken seriously. ECON 102 was extremely enlightening, & I learned so much more about the world we live in. Take ECON 100 & 102 only with Lehigh! Highly recommend!
GREAT PROFESSOR! 1/2 of FAVORITE @ CSM.took his class fall 12 & retook it spring 13.material was hard for me.retook, specifically with him b.c his style of teaching is the best.he's clear when he lectures & constantly asks if any1 has questions.online h.w & quizzes are HELPFUL!make sure not to miss any.COOL guy!very passionate about his teaching!
Lehigh is an AMAZING professor. He changes students outlooks on Econ and makes it a very interesting class. Try not to miss class, and take good notes!
His Econ class is really difficult. The first sentence he said at the beginning of the semester was : People usually don't get an A in my class. His grading is 3 exams each worth 20%, online quizzes 20%, and homework 20% and you need 70% to succeed in his class. Good luck to everyone and make sure you have lots and lots of time to study.
Amazing professor. My favorite at my time at CSM. Class is very straight forward and isn't as hard as it is made to seem. Go to class, and you'll do fine. Don't be an idiot, and he won't pick on you. Very simple.
Lehigh is an amazing teacher. Come to class, take notes, pay attention and you will succeed. He's no idiot, so don't even think about trying to mess around on your phone or or casually walk in late with starbucks, he'll call you out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially if you appreciate dry sarcasm as much as I do. He's a kickass teacher.
He is a piece of shyt. So dictatorship..never care about good students. After the final, I was tring to make sure my free response answer . He just reject me because he didn't want talk about the test. Actually, he was talking with an another student. He didn't show me the respect all the time. I'm glad I'm done with his class.
Best professor I had during my time at CSM. Material is a bit challenging but he presents it very clearly. He really knows how to teach. Go to class, take notes, and do the homework.
I regret not signing up for this professor's ECON-100 class too. Do not expect to get good grade on your exam if you do not go over your homework and study guide online however.
He is a good guy! He will clearly explain the concept for you and his notes are really useful. You have to pay attention to his class and note, and then you'll be fine. It's not so tough. Just take it!
One of my favorite professors at CSM. Don't let his beard fool you, he's actually an incredibly nice guy! He is always open to answer any questions you may have. Always there for his students. Show up to class, take notes, and read the book! I don't think too many students actually read the book, but I think it helped me out lots. Must take!
Steve's a pretty cool guy. His tests are on everything as well, so one must really study for his tests. His lectures are attention grabbing with his unique use of examples. His sarcasm makes some of his lectures hilarious. I'd definitely recommend taking him. Please keep in mind, he says that people usually don't get A's in his class. Totally true.
His class is easy if you take notes, study, and read the materials. This basically means that you will do well in the class as long as you do what a student is supposed to do. His lectures are fun to listen to, and full of information. He's not an idiot which means he will call you out if you're on your phone etc. Great class overall!
Great teacher if you put in the work. If you don't care you will fail but if you put in the effort you will be okay
Lehigh is the best! I've had him for Econ 100 & 102. The trick to getting a C or above in his class is to stay on top of the HWQuizzes. There's HW due every Mon & a quiz every other week or so. There's no surprises in his class. Pay attention during lecturetake good notes. He lays everything out so it's easy to understand. 1010. Would recommend.
Professor Lehigh is an intelligent professor. I am inspired by how well he lectures and answers questions. He understands the subject of Economics very well, and explains it in a way that is practical and relevant. I look forward to his lectures. Truth be told, the concepts are not easy, but if you pay attention and study you will do fine.
He is approachable but can be a bit intimidating at times. Don't take him too serious and you'll be fine. Take his assignments and rules serious or you won't pass. Every point is worth something in this class. It can be difficult if you don't put in the work. Tutoring is very helpful since concepts can get confusing in class. You learn a lot.
1. HW (20%) - make sure to get 100%. 2. Quizzes (20%) - get 90% on ur quizzes. Some questions are based on homework. So, make sure to scroll past through your homework before doing it. 3. Tests (60%) - Read your notes multiple times, try to analyze the principles on products that you love, understand it with your heart. This is how I got an A.
Lehigh is a great econ teacher! You can actual learn knowledge from him and he is hilarious! But at the same time he is so strict about phone policy and cheating. He talks lot faster than other teachers but if you have questions about lecture, you can ask him after class. He is patient, helpful, and he is the best econ teacher @csm!
If you plan to take any Econ class this professor is the one you want to be teaching it! The way he lectures is by far the best . Be prepared to take a lot of notes and to go to every lecture because thats where he explains the material! He isn't strict even though he thinks he is lol I've taken stricter professors but I recommend taking him!
Lehigh is one of the best professor I've ever met! He makes every point very clear and you can really learn something! Exams are not hard if you read notes! Be aware of the class disciplines as someone was banned from taking a midterm because he wanted to go to bathroom with his phone in pocket during the exam!
AVOID AVOID AVOID! He does not drop any of the lowest exams. If you get a C from one you have to say goodbye to an A. He asks very different and difficult questions on the exam! I hope I can pass this class...
Micro was a tough class, but professor Lehigh is a great teacher. He does a great job at explaining the material, so don't miss class! Homework and quizzes are each worth 20% of your grade (lowest scores are dropped), and exams are worth 60%. There are three exams and everything is really straightforward.
Professor Lehigh is a great professor. His lectures are very clear and detailed.
I'm BAFFELED he's a community college teacher bc he could teach elsewhere with his skill set (material knowledge & teaching ability). Everything he says is clear as day. Homework is easy even without doing the reading (he explains everything in class). Test are easy if you just do the study guides he gives you and did all the homework. LOVE HIM
One of the best professors I've ever had at csm. Clear on grading, extra credit opportunities are given and teaching style was perfect. Focus on the material and make sure you review your notes and you should be fine.
I took both Econ 100 and 102 with him, and he is the best. Use myeconlab for regular HM and Quiz. 3 Tests are class. Honestly, his tests are not that hard, all multi choices and short answers questions are really basic. They are all from his lecture and no extra outside questions at all. His lecture is very basic as well. Highly recommended!
Econ is hard, Lehigh makes it understandable. I took this class 3 times before passing, and when I took it with Lehigh, the material just stuck with me. Utilize all resources he gives you, and stay to ask questions. He will work with you until you understand it all. He doesn't just give you the answers, he makes sure you understand it to the end.
It's important to go to class because the short answers for the tests are from his lectures. His lectures are really boring and it is hard to keep up because he writes (on the whiteboard) all over the place. I think his disorganized way of showing examples is what makes it difficult for me. 75% of the class goes to the tutor sessions,I wonder why?
He is a really good teacher. Is nice and his class is interesting. Some of it gets really confusing but he'll explain it. Would take again. His grading is very clear. Make sure to participate as that is worth a few points that can change your grade.
Since their are only two econ prof at CSM Lehigh is your best bet. He cares about his students and is readily available to help. Down side is he does not explain questions differently from lecture and one on one which makes it hard to understand material if you are confused. Extra credit and tutoring sessions before each exam are offered
Fantastic professor! His grading breaks down to this: 17% Homework (Do it all!), 3% Participation (Say something once a week), 20% Quizzes (Based off homework, get around a 90% on them), 60% Tests (Go to the review sessions and read the chapters). Be sure to participate and don't miss any classes. Take him!
I took Lehigh in Spring 2018 and I liked his class. He likes answering questions and likes helping others. He gives 1 online HW per week, 1 online quiz every 2 weeks, and practice sheets to help u learn. The HW's and quizzes were easy as long as u listen to lecture, take notes, and read the book 3 hours a week. Gives enough time to finish HW's
fairly straightforward teacher. He lets you know at the beginning of the sem. it's not very common that people get A's in his class, but it is definitely do-able. My first semester back to CSM and as long as you show up to the classes, spend the effort to figure out what you do and don't know, he does take time to explain if you bother to ask
he needs to stop with the participation matters thing... as long as i understand, it's fine but don't make me participate.
not as nice as everyone says he is!! also has complex lectures, if you skip one class, you'll be totally lost
Lehigh is one of my favorite professors. Make sure you don't miss class and you'll pass. His grading is very straightforward. I highly recommend taking his class as he is an excellent professor. I took 100 with him and got an A-, currently in his 102 class.
He is really good, fun to talk to and nice.
Lehigh is the best Econ teacher. He wants you to learn and he wants you to pass. He really cares about his students, but he is not an easy A!! You really need to work for your grade. If you attend class, stay on top of due dates, and really study/learn the material, you're grade will reflect that. Participation matters, so pay attention and ask ?s
I love Lehigh and plan on taking him again simply for his relaxed teaching style. You have 1 homework assignment due once a week and 1 quiz due every 2-3 weeks. Grades on a percentage system which I prefer way more than a points scale. Gives an extra credit assignment that cay sway your grade up to 3%. Hard class but reasonable if you pay attention
This class was so hard. Lehigh is funny prof but the grading system was so difficult. Make sure to study really hard for the Tests because they determine your grades. Quizes (taken online) are the Hws. If you get a C on a test good luck trying to raise your grade to a B. This class have me so much anxiety. Youll have better luck in econ elsewhere.
This class was so hard. Lehigh is funny prof but does understand how to teach. Make sure to study really hard for the Tests because they determine your grades. Quizzes are your hw questions . If you skip any class youre honestly lost . No phones allowed unless you want to be humiliated and kicked out . Good luck !
I found this class to be really hard. You seriously cannot afford to get distracted! The test are hard , and by half the semester like 2/5ths of the class dropped out! I advise you to take econ at the other community colleges! The grading system is structured so that your test are the only thing that matters! Which sucks, bc theres only 3 tests .
His class is kind of hard but I really like the way he sets up lectures and the homework. Although his class is a bit hard, I still enjoyed going because he is a cool funny guy. Exams are always harder than everything else but that's just how it is. I always choose him for econ classes if I can!
Lehigh is a cool and funny Prof. But he really does not know how to teach , he assumes everyone knows what theyre are doing. His test are extremely hard! You should really study for all his test. Go over the hw/quizzes ! The hw /quizzes are online (hw is the quiz) . The grade scale is difficult too. I was lucky to have ended with a B. Good Luck!
good lecturer!
Lehigh has expectations of his students which he makes clear at the beginning of the semester: study frequently, do your homework on time, don't fall behind, and PARTICIPATE. The class isn't an easy A, but do those things and you can get it. If you have trouble, he offers review sessions which are much more relaxed than class itself. Recommended.
A really great teacher that taught me alot of valuable lessons of hard work Hes extremely knowledgeable in economics and is oriented towards the success of his students. He has study sessions before every exam and has office hours for more 1on1 help. Prof Lehigh excepts his students to do the usual, just study and do your best and you'll do well .
Terrible professor, does not explain how to do assignments and can't even complete the assignments himself.
Professor Lehigh is not helpful when it comes to offering clarification or feedback. I understand that online learning is tough but you'd think we'd have some sort of established communication in place by now. Does not provide adequate information for assignments. Tends to make a topic more confusing than it needs to be. Very frustrating.
Dont really teach and explain lectures. Just asks you to read the book then handout homeworks plus discussions. Also a big deduction when you dont reply to any comment in the discussions.
Professor Lehigh was awesome! I would not say his class is easy but if you work hard towards doing all the assignments on time, attend class & pay attention in class - you will pass. The course is structured well with clear expectations. I took ECON100 with another professor at CSM whose lectures were based on a generic power point, got a D.
If you want a A dont take this class, we need a better one.
The professor who will make you quit economics forever. Really need someone to talk to this professor he need to change his grading ways. Something is wrong with his grading. While looking at the class average youll see the problems. Horrible experience with his class. I mean its a nightmare even you work so hard.
He is an awful lecturer so you have to rely on yourself to learn the material. HOWEVER, the homework is easy, the quizzes are a piece of cake, and he is understanding and willing to work with the class if they seem to be in need of help. Lectures were optional. So bad lecturer but good/easy course structure.
His lectures are unorganized and don't always line up with the assignments. He didn't help much with preparing the class for the midterm and called off lectures on the weeks right before the midterm. The discussions are a huge waste of time and I haven't learned anything from this professor. Will never take a course from him again.
He is an okay professor but very unclear at sometimes. His discussions are not the best and he grades tough on them. Not a quick responder as well. Be careful upon taking the midterm as you will most likely not be prepared for it. I regret taking this class, but if you do make sure to learn the material yourself and the best you can.
He was one of the best teacher in CSM, but it turns out and become the worst economics professor in the CSM. If you want to get an A don't take this class! If you want to stay happy don't take this class! If you love economics don't take this class! If you planning to transfer don't take this class!
I was going to rate my professor a 4, but he really help me out during the pandemic. The exam is a bit hard for international students especially your English isn't great. The quiz can be learned from the homework. There is extra credit, but it is hard to do and lots of works. I believe if you tried your best in his course you could receive an A.
The class can get overwhelming if you fall behind but he makes it easy to communicate with him to get back on track. If you do your homework and attend the lectures you will do great
If it wasn't for the harsh grading, vague but also over-worded instructions that make you confused as to what you're supposed to do, and him grading so late that you can't fix what you're doing wrong - I would've given the professor a 4. If you're okay with it, then take the class because otherwise the weekly econlab assignment and quiz is easy.
Such an easy class in my opinion. Really simple structure that is the same every week which I appreciate. Discussion board and homework through Pearson every week. Quiz every 3 weeks. Sometimes homework sheets. Homework has unlimited attempts so it is an easy 100%. HW 20% MyEconLab Quizzes 20% Discussions, Write ups Etc.30% Exams 30%Total100%
Loved this professor I took his Econ 100 class online during fall semester of 2020 and Econ 102 class online during spring semester of 2021. I am done with CSM now but I'd figure I write this review first for future students before I go to my 4-year school at Menlo College. These classes were my first classes here at CSM. I enjoyed the experience.
I had him online for econ 100 for fall 2021, and in person for econ 102 for spring 2022. He was pretty boring online, and I was able to pass with a B+ without paying attention to a single one of his lectures. In person is completely different though. Super engaging, super funny, easy to talk to. One of my favorite professors I've had at CSM.
Great teacher! Gives extra credit on the midterm and final There is usually a chapter a week of reading and 6 quizzes throughout the semester, but the questions are mostly from the homework. There are discussions as well, but the workload is reasonable. He cares about the students and asks for feedback to improve the class. Definitely take him
The class was ok to get by. The class is a bit tough, so I do not recommend if you are trying to just get a good great. His homework assignments on canvas are heavy. There is nothing special about this class.
10/10 Would recommend and take again! Simple weekly instructions you can't fail. The class is full-proof as long as you do the work. And it's not even that much work!
I learned a ton about Macroeconomics from Professor Lehigh. Excellent lectures. Class participation is graded. Read the instructions carefully for every assignment.
Took macro last semester with him, micro now. Super clear weekly instructions: weekly chapter reading, discussion post (requires some thought) + reply, and myeconlab hw. Responded to my emails almost immediately. Even came in person a couple times and he was very very helpful with difficult concepts. Would take another class with him if possible!
Prof. Lehigh grades very hard -- don't expect to receive full credit on discussions, and even extra credits. The feedback you will receive for your discussion posts every time will be, "You should be breaking your post up where appropriate. Not just for each part, but within parts as well", and an 8/10. He needs to ease up on the grading...
Professor Steven Lehigh is helpful and engages lecturers, but be ready for a tough grading style. Discussions rarely get full credit, and lectures fill the entire class time. If you're up for a challenge and don't mind putting in extra effort, this class could be rewarding.
The class is well organized with original assignments. Grading was unnecessarily tough. Pearson online book review exercises were buggy.
As others have said, there is something wrong with this professor's grading system. He finds the smallest, tiniest mistake in the discussion assignments that you have been working on for 6 hours and takes off at least 2 points, and the discussion assignments are worth 30% of the final grade... I regret taking this course.
Lehigh doesnt do that well online. From what I hear, he's a better teacher in person. I took him online, and the class is fine as long as you read the textbook. The Midterm and Final aren't too bad, he offers plenty of extra credit, and the Discussion Posts aren't too hard, just answer the prompt and go into detail. If you take him, do in person.
I took economics with Professor Lehigh and I had an awful experience. He does a terrible job teaching online. He doesn't explain or teach you anything. He just gives you a very confusing assignment without giving any explanation or context on how to do it. He is also a very hard grader and will take points of for the smallest reasons.
Professor Lehigh was one of the most passionate professors I have ever had at CSM and really did a great job making econ not only relatable but interesting. As others have mentioned he can be a bit of a harsh grader but in my experience he had very good lectures that helped you succeed and cleared up any confusions you may have on the topics
I do not know how he teaches in person BUT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. He will assign you very confusing assignments with very little instruction on how to properly complete them. I did not learn much from taking this class online and be prepared for a very tough grading system.
Nice guy but his lectures are often confusing and he's a very hard grader. It's important to go to every class because if you miss anything you probably won't catch up.
Professor Lehigh's class can be challenging, but engaging with the material and using study tools like unstuckstudy really helps. The grading is tough, but the lectures are informative. Worth taking if you're willing to put in the work.
Don't miss the class. Do assignments regularly. He's a fun professor who is willing to explain everything you ask. Engagement is important for in class discussions. You'll definitely get A.
