Mr. McCall is an amazing teacher anyone who takes this class I highly recommend. I am a very shy person and he brought me completely out of my shell because he likes talking with the class. Any assignments you have a problem with he will help. The paper that we did was a bug help in learning how to write a decent one. You can not go wrong with him.

He was very engaged with the students. Answer every question that was asked to him. Tests were a little harder than most but if you studied and read the book the tests aren't that bad. Twitter is a little annoying but overall this class was very enjoyable and I world recommend it to anyone.

If you dont read dont take him. dont set yourself up but I made a C. Try to stick it out if you can.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE CONSISTENTLY LATE TO EVERYTHING. If punctuality isn't your strong suit, take another instructor's class because you'll end up with a bad participation grade for being late a few times. He also requires you to use Twitter which contributes to the participation grade as well. The participation grade is worth 20%!

Mr. McCall is an excellent history teacher, because he utilized humor to keep students interested in the material as well as focusing more on the politics of historical events. He also fairly grades coursework.

He stayed on top of us and the class learning assignments and really kept us on top of our feet so that we could pass his class.

Overall he is a pretty good teacher. I'm not sure if I would take him again but I highly recommend his to anyone.

If you don't enjoy history, I recommend you take this professor. He teaches it from a different perspective that you're used to. As a plus, he's funny and very helpful.

I like the class because it was easy. I didn't like the SEEI notes, mainly because I didn't understand it. Not saying you didn't teach it, I just wasn't sure on what to do. Overall the class was easy and you was respectful.

Made history class interesting instead of the usual stuff. Gives insight into alot of different subjects when teaching and differs from the traditional history that many of us have experienced in previous classes

I really liked him as a teacher. He knew what he as talking about and was not afraid to answer any questions. It was not a boring class, but it does require a lot of participation. Even though the tests were difficult, there were not many. You have to read the book and pay attention to the lectures. I would take him again.

You have to work for your grade but he is a great teacher. Hope you are good at taking notes from a lecture because he doesn't give you very much info on slides. All around a great teacher.

Mr. McCall is very passionate about history and therefore, he grades the same way. Know the material by reading it not just the lectures. Understand ideas rather then memorize people places and event. Overall good course I would recommend to people that are serious about education.

The class overall was great, especially if you enjoy learning about history. The lectures were great, even when off topic you still learn something interesting. One thing I would like to see changed is that during notes that there be bullets instead of trying to figure out what all you need to write down and what is just off topic stuff.

Every day of class I leave with a aching stomach! This professor is hilarious! He does require a lot of participation like tweeting .. nothing real serious. All tests are online. He makes history interesting. I have NEVER been bored in his class. He doesn't grade below a 50% on any assignment.

Mr. Steven E. McCall is great in terms of being a professor. However the flaw lies within his teaching method. He test over any and everything discussed in class and over the chapters assigned. This is a problem due to the fact that it is impossible to remember everything so it is hit or miss if you know the answers on the test.

You'll learn a lot, but he's tough. You have to make a twitter account for his class- tweet him a couple times a week and it's an easy 100. Very lecture heavy, take a lot of notes. Uses a powerpoint to go along with the lecture- write down those notes too. Pay attention to the way he wants things done (hint: midterm paper) and you'll make an A.

Mr. McCall cares deeply about what he does. He is a very passionate dude who truly wants you to pass the class. He is tough, but he will help you every step of the way to get the grade you want. He also gives an easy twitter grade, all you have to do is send two tweets a week for a grade!

I wouldn't call Mr. McCall a "tough grader" he tells you what you need to do to succeed in his class. Just do what he says, you'll be fine. Granted, this class was virtual due to COVID, but I'm sure I would say the same for an in-person class.
