Intersting class and guy. Always willing to help if you go to him. One thing I will say he has a very low tolerance for students who disrespect him so its a good idea to stay on his good side and yes he does hate cell phones

Very fun class. You get credit for coming to class so be sure and attend all classes. Tests are 20 multiple choice questions. Very easy going, laid back guy and funny too! I would recommend this course!

The class and Professor Middleton have been outstanding. We have so much fun in class, laughing nearly all the time. He makes it fun to be there and is extremely helpful. The assignments are never hard, but open your mind to the world around you in an interesting way. Everyone needs to take this class.

Perfect class. Took it for gen ed and it was in my major direction. His lectures were interesting, the papers were easy and straightforward, tests were great if you paid attention, he always stayed after if you needed help. Over all great guy, take this class. Really great guy, I'd take him again if I could. Lectures are entertaining and really likes class discussions. Midterm and final were easy if you pay attention in class. I'd definitely recommend taking him.

Super easy class. He does take attendance. We just take notes from the power points. We watch videos in there on fridays. You write a couple papers, as long as you use 12 pt font and times new romans you will get full points.

He is one of the most amazing professors I have ever had. The only thing I haven't liked about his class is that he put a "required" text on the syllabus but the first day we came to class he said we wouldn't ever be using it. I just wish he would have let us know before classes started so we wouldn't have wasted money on the book.

Incredibly rad dude, with quite a fashion sense. He definitely knows what he's talking about and it's fun chatting with him in and out of the classroom about things. His documentaries rock, if you're into the sort of things that he is. The guy exudes confidence. Tests and papers aren't bad, but attendance is important. Never opened the textbook!

Middleton or the Colonel (as the CVM students call him) is an amazing teacher, person, and friend to all the students. I will say as I am about to graduate working with Middleton on the MSUTV shows and working with him on his documentary projects taught me so much. Always willing to lend a hand, pull you aside for advice and help

Professor Middleton is a very down to earth professor at MSU. His classes are both helpful and honest about the world we live in and the role of college and education in our lives as students. He was always willing to listen and help if you had issues. He was always around in his office to help anytime the students were struggling.

Dr. Middleton was a huge delight as a professor. He cared for his students and made it his mission to make sure you walk out of his class with knowledge from that days lesson. I am extremely glad that I took this class and I would recommend Dr. Middleton to anyone.

Colonel Middleton went out of his way to both teach and mentor me in Documentary production. Great teacher and class. I got a chance to work with him on a project that aired on KET PBS. It was honored he took me under his wing to help me understand the field hands on.

Great professor all in all. He's understanding, super flexible & responds to emails quickly, even over breaks. He grades easy if you just put in the work to get it done. You only have discussion boards and papers in this class and it's lined out clearly in the syllabus & he also gives reminders to help students out. Would definitely recommend him!

I had always seen Middleton around but as a Strat. Comm major I never had him in class. I finally had him for the social media capstone course CVM 410. At first I thought running real social media for CoffeeTree Books seemed like too much work. When we finished I felt I learned more real world skills than any class just taking tests.

Middleton is a great professor. I always looked forward to his class and was disappointed when the semester ended. He leads amazing discussions and takes the course seriously without overdoing it. Would, and hopefully will, take again.

Would highly recommend for online CVM 210. The class always had the same amount of work due. It was never overbearing and you were never surprised about assignments.

Had for online CVM 210 during the summer session. Great class and the approach to the class was a combo or writing assignments, discussions, and real work media essays. Not just quizes from the textbook like other summer classes.

You always know when an assignment is coming up, nothing was ever too overbearing, and if you try your best and actually do the work, this class is an easy A. Middleton is simply put a great teacher, and mentor. He takes time to advise, discuss, and help you in all facets of your college career. While I had him for CVM 410, I have had him for a total of four classes over my 4 years at MSU. He was always honest, willing to help, advise, and even go out of his way to help with any class issues.

I loved this class, Middleton made it super fun, its not lecture heavy, hands-on as you work on the computer and make (3) videos with Adobe Premiere. I would recommend showing up to class and putting in the effort, because the program can get confusing. There are a couple quizzes from the book, but you can use the book during them. Highly recommend

you have to go to class because he shows you how to do all the projects there. but he makes it easy to do well and the class is fun.

Ive had professor Middleton for two classes and he is a great professor. For COMS 110 there arent many assignments so he does grade slightly tougher on them. There is a textbook for the class, used to take quizzes with outside of class. He is easy to get along and makes sure his students understand the assignments.

I really like Dr. Middleton, I took this course for a gen-ed class and it was very easy! I like writing papers and in this course I wrote about 6. He's a very easy grader, as long as you turn in the papers on time and give it your best shot, you'll get a good grade. Very nice and responds to emails quick!

If you want to learn about media writing and making documentaries he is simply the best at it at MSU. He seems to be the only current faculty that truly knows what the job market is like in the media field. Middleton was a mentor to me and other students in my time at MSU.

Simply put I have used Professor Middleton for job references and he has written me many letters of recommendations. Not many professors would do that. He is very respected and connected and really cares about students if you show him respect.

I worked with Middleton producing a class documentary film. He was a great mentor and teacher to all of us. Even more so he wrote me a letter of recommendation that led to me getting a job after graduation. The man is respected and is well connected in media fields. I can't stress enough how much he has helped me.

I had Middleton for the Level Up social media course. We ran live social media campaigns for actual clients. I achieved Level Up status at MSU through this class. He gave me opportunities to boost my resume. He is a great person for a recommendation letter as you can tell he is respected amongst his peers and professionals.

One of my top 3 favorites in my time at MSU. Laid back but very knowledgeable about new media and documentary. Never talks about his own success much but is very successful and knows his stuff. I had a chance to do a research project film with him. Not many other professors would care that much.

One of my favorite at MSU. Prioritizes building a portfolio and real world learning over essays and quizzes. I highly recommend. He does require attendance and is very much focused on you putting in effort and not just being on your phone the whole hour.

Professor Middleton is hilarious and very cute. You will like his class if you like to learn. Participation and attendance matter, so don't be late for class. If you show up and try, you will do okay in his courses. On any assignments, he gives a lot of time to complete them. Follow the deadlines and you will be okay.

Funny, intellectual, and a different kind of professor in a good way. Not hard if you go to class and put in an effort, gives you long due dates so expect things to be due if you struggle it's because you didn't put in any effort or did didn't come to class.
