One of the worst professors I've had. Harsh grader, says there's a 50% chance of a quiz before every class & then only gave 2 to force us into doing the readings without giving us the easy 100 the quizzes would've been after spending hours on the readings. Gave me a C in participation when I spoke up multiple times in class that day. DONT TAKE HIM!

Do not take him, very difficult and way to much work

Mollmann was terrible, he teaches AWR 101 as if every student is an english major, when 99.9% of students are there because it is a requirement, I found myself only focusing on his class the whole semester because there was so much work. Do not take him, he is terrible.

Do not take his class. He literally tries to fail his students and does not care about them as much as he cares about failing them. Worst class ever.

Spams Pop quizzes. The material he chooses for teaching an on level English class is god awful. Course load is god awful everyday is a Quick write though this is fair in my opinion. Never available outside office hours and will not respond to emails.

Do not take him. Rude and grades everything based on his opinion, if it's not what he thinks, then it's wrong. Does not give good feedback. You are better off with doing well with another professor when it comes to reasearch. The dude talks about his kids all the time.

This professor is by far the worst. He thinks that by giving us random pop quizzes is going to do anything. Nope! He takes this introductory English course that's technically a waste of our time and money into something advanced, and treats us like we are English Major when its only a requirement.

Do not take him. He is funny but a ridiculously hard grader. Had a 4.0 before I took this class, don't anymore. Takes this research class WAY too seriously when almost everyone in it only took it to get credits, not for actual interest. A ton of writing which he expects you to write as someone with a PhD. The worst teacher/class I've had here.

Rough. I participated a lot in class and still received an 80%. Also took points off for small things on random assignments. Lectures are boring and writing essays was tedious because he grades both the rough draft and final to make sure they are "different enough". Lots of pop quizzes to but does do extra credit assignments

Professor Mollmann is a very tough grader. Do not recommend taking him. I've been a great writer my entire life, papers, and essays are not difficult for me, and I can easily knock them out, but when taking him he graded harshly. He also talks about his kids which is irrelevant, and makes jokes about getting hit. He doesn't care to help you pass.

Absolutely horrible. Grades as if his students are PHD students. Has no sense of compassion or understanding for what people are going through. It is literally his way or no way. He does not care, at all. DONT take him, your GPA will drop like crazy.

If you like randomized quizzes, then this professor is for you. Professor Mollmann does not even take others' thoughts into account. Whatever he decides is the final output, and he seriously thinks that way. You have to do it in his exact way, although this is a reading and writing class, and you can add your own input. Just stay away from him!!

You will be reading a lot of confusing ,and useless books, which will take more of your time than your other classes. If that's the way you want, take him. This is a 101 class, and this professor treats the class as if we are an English major, but in reality, we are there for credits. I had to drop this class because it was affecting other classes.

On the first day of class, he mentions that he has proudly failed students in the past, for minor and unintentional plagiarism. I understand plagiarism is wrong, but he takes it way too seriously. If you have a professor like him talking about failing students, just leave while you are at it. Not worth your time dealing with the assignments.

I have participated majority of lectures, yet he gives a low grade. I asked during office hours, and he gave a nonsense reasoning. His whole research is unimportant, and so is a majority of the lectures. Gives poor feedback as well after submitting papers. This is a professor who will make your life a living hell.

If you have this professor, you might be doomed. Take it with another professor and move on...

If you are doing a research class, please take it with another professor. He is not open to any topics when it comes to research, and won't approve anything. This is a research class, and technically we should be able to research anything that we are passionate about. He will give horrible feedback, and then he likes talking about failing students.

This professor is way too old school. Move on with another professor. He is not accommodating and does not care about his students. He gives vague feedback, and you will have a hard time understanding. He also doesn't take the semester professor reviews into account..

Professor. Mollmann, or should I say Professor Molerat was a professor that made me bang my head on a wall. His assignment instructions made no sense, and gave poor feedback. He likes to see his students fail.

I was assigned to this professor at the beginning of the year, and I can say that It already ruined my time here. He talks and has mentioned how he likes kids which I find inappropriate and strange. Talks about getting hit by a bus, and other inappropriate jokes. He is a joke and is desperately wanting to fail you. Don't let his class affect you.

I cannot say how much I did not like this professor. He talks about in his lectures of him failing students in the past, we personally do not want to hear stories about it. He is a funny guy don't get me wrong, but in reality he takes this class way too seriously, and expects us to prioritize this class only..

I have been seeing the reviews on this professor, and frankly enough I have to agree with them myself. I took his 101 class, and he expect us to write as an English Major. Whatever he says he believes that he is only correct, and will give you a look saying you are wrong and dumb. This professor likes to talk about failing students, thats negative.

If you don't have his writing style he will fail you. he doesn't care if you want to do redo anything/ try your best to get a good grade. he ultimately doesn't care about his students at all and what grade you end with.

If creativity is your thing, then do not take this Professor. You cannot be creative, and you have to do it in his exact way.. Feedback is vague and will not explain well. Worst Professor I had so far.

For this specific course, you need to write a 10-page research essay, and this guy won't let you choose your own topic; he has to approve it.

This guy is absolutely absurd. Expects us to to read 20 pages from a book, when we have other classes aswell. Yes this is college, but he takes the class way too seriously. He will not let you choose your own topic, and was being picky. When go over for papers, he will not explain properly, and you will be lost. Save your money, and dont take him.

If you want your GPA to drop, he is the professor for you! He gave too many assignments in 1 day, and expects you to complete a years worth of homework the next class. I had to drop since this mandatory class was affecting other classes. Really really bad, take someone else.

This review will not be different from the others reviews. Made offensive inappropriate jokes while lectures, and just kept on telling stories of failing former students. In office hours, he will not give valuable feedback, and you will be more confused. The homework load is absolutely horrendous given its a core class. Nothing good about him..

Mollmann is a horrible professor. He does not care about your life outside of his class and the workload is crazy, especially having him 3 times a week. He also says he doesn't take attendance, but then does activities in class where you'll get a zero if you weren't there. I cried in his office and he did not care at all. Do not take him.

This class got me banging my head against a wall. He gave us a random pop quiz throughout the week, which was annoying because he forced us to do the readings.. We also do in class discussions sometimes, and I have participated the most, yet he gives a bs reason why he doesn't give full points to the ones who participated the most.

Took him for Fall 2024, I was assigned to this terrible professor.. Would not give points to people who were speaking alot in class, not sure what his strategy was. The books we read were long, boring, and also confusing. He grades really hard for a 101 class.. For your own sake, do not take him, especially if you are assigned.

Took him for 101 in fall 2023, I thought it wasn't a bad class. When I took him again for 201, that was when he showed his ugly side. Moral of the story, don't take the same professor again unless they are the only professor teaching that one course, or if you have a good relationship with them.

Currently taking his AWR 201 class, takes off points for any small errors, and doesn't explain well. The beginning of the semester he won't let you choose your own topic. Really annoying, and also stubborn. Save your money.

Funny professor, but he is extremely hard when he grades. Minor mistakes he takes off huge points. The homework he gives is a god awful level, making us read like 30 pages at minimum. This professor would be a last resort tbh

If this is the only class you're taking, this is for you. Podcasts, hour-long videos, 20 pages of reading, and a 50% chance of a quiz all for the next class, must take notes. He thinks his class is the only one we're taking. Doesn't give good feedback and if he doesnt agree we you he will give you a bad grade. Dont take unless you enjoy headaches.

This professor was absolutely annoying and inconsiderable. Even thought of dropping this class, but decided to get through it. If you are not the best writer, this man will take off hella points. Do not take.

Do not take AWR 101 and AWR 201. He gives so much homework, and is being really inconsiderable of others personal lives. He expects it all done to be the next class. If you are going through a mental crisis. This class will make things worse

Do not take him unless he is the last option, or even better wait a semester to take it with someone else. He proudly says in class he will fail you, and he grades insanely difficult. You have to write a research paper, and at the end of the semester you need to present. Just take it with someone else, I really have PTSD from a 101 class....

I should have done research on this professor, thought that these comments were just to bring bad view on him. But it turns out these comments are true. Life lesson is to do a background check/or look up a professor here, so that you can avoid having a bad experience. Probably gonna withdraw this class if it doesn't get better.

I have no idea why this professor takes this introductory writing course too seriously, way to strict on style and if its not good or even remotely close to his expectation, he takes of major points. He's really uncomfortable honestly. If you really wanna learn to write take someone else who will give better feedback.

90% of the homework I had him was from him. He assigns a paper every class and it's due by the next class. He gives surprise quizzes on readings to make sure we do them. He also crashed out on us and cussed at us about how people all use AI and no one "cares about learning". He expects everyone to care about science fiction journals as much as him.

If you are busy with life, or if you have a job. Do not take. If you have personal issues with life, also do not take. He doesn't care about you, and just wants the work done.

Please avoid him, even if you are an English major. Avoid him at all costs.

He makes the class uncomfortable. Alot of students do not like him, probably because we signed up last minute, and needing to find AWR201 in a fitting time. I deeply regret taking him, he gives vague feedback when it comes to the paper.

Karma is gonna hit him at some point, he really likes to false accuse students of even small plagiarism and goes on a huge rant about it, one day he's gonna get accused of something heinous and absurd and nobody will help him, maybe his favorite students won't bother aswell.

I really want to know why he has to make an introductory writing class so hard. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but this guy doesn't give a darn about it, and will just take off big points for something small. His feedback is horrible, and he doesn't seem like the type of guy to realize that he's not good at teaching.

As an international student, don't take him. He secretly gives off racist vibes. He grades hard, and if he doesn't like it he won't even help you to improve. He will take a ton on points off.

Istg dont take this class, especially in your freshman years.. You will be getting negative thoughts, and this guy wont care about others lives.

So far I have learned more of him failing former students of plagiarism, rather than learning how to properly write a research paper, and getting better sources. He's there just to fail you and possibly ruin your academic standpoint, I know plagiarism is bad, but he takes it too much even if its unintentional... He has no feelings and is heartless.

I wish I can curse, but I can't. This guy gives like an average of 30 pages of readings to do with a 50% chance of a pop quiz on the readings. Use an AI tool to do the readings and get the context.

This man does not care about his students passing his class. IMPOSSIBLE I mean IMPOSSIBLE grader. I spent 20+ hours on an essay for him, and he still failed me (my essay was perfect it just had a COUPLE grammar mistakes and punctuation errors). He comes across as a nice guy but you'll learn he will mark you down for literally breathing.

The professor is clearly a narcissist, he doesn't want to admit when he's wrong, and he believes he's always right. I went over with my paper and I explained why it's correct, but he just gives a look where he want you to be wrong, this guy doesn't care about you learning to become a better writer.

If you are searching for AWR101/201 classes, please review his ratings first before deciding… I chose him because I needed this class and he was the remaining options left that fit my timeslot. This guy really wants to fail you, and now I need to retake it with someone else.. Your better off waiting an extra semester and having a good professor.

Honestly high school English was far more helpful than this guy, actually you know what you probably won't be able to use your skills from high school, because it needs it to be his way only… you can't even be creative for a writing class that every major needs to take..

This professor needs to know that not everyone will be in there style. Not everyone probably can write well, I understand if someone wrote an essay which sounds childish it would make sense but for someone who is trying, and trying to make a point from there writing but still take a lot of points off is diabolical. He also tried accusing me of AI..

If you take this guy, I promise you will be more confused about how to write. he gives vague feedback on how to improve. The only good thing is if your drafts are better, you can just copy and paste it for the final draft, however that still doesn't account for the terrible feedback. AWR201 is required for all majors, however please under any circumstances do not take this man if you are going through stuff mentally, or if you are really busy in life. He does not care about you, and just wants the homework done the next class.. He's bitter, and the essays needs to be in his way only. This was a waste of time

He's actually crazy. He crashed out on our class because someone in a different class used AI. He gives an INSANE amount of homework; we literally have a paper due in between each class. He thinks everyone has a passion for research papers and cares as much as he does. His voice is so annoying and he slurps on his water bottle every few sentences.

I know grad school and capstone courses will be difficult, but he expects you to write like a PhD student in English when every major needs to take this class for a requirement. He is horrible, and he doesn't seem to acknowledge it.

Please do not for the sake of it choose this guy. Even if he is the remaining options left for this core class. Your better off taking it the next semester with options. This man forces us to like scientific fiction, and he forces us to like the subject and content when we are all there to get credits only. He is an impossible grader.

While he is passionate about his work, he is ONLY passionate about just that. He forces you to read chapters of the textbook and has a 50% chance of giving you a quiz. He also grades really firmly based off his writing style and if you are not able to match it, you are SOL.

Unless if your a descendant of Shakespeare or any famous writter, don't take him. He will grade ridiculously hard, and it must look like Mollmanns style, and will grade you as if you are a PhD student in English, when in reality we are there to get credits only. And his feedback is not helpful.

honesty SO bad + so unreasonable. if he doesn't like u, there goes ur grade + his portion of the class will single-handedly bring down the rest of ur grade. i've taken all but 1 honors class + this was by far the worst treatment + worst grading + worst teaching i've experienced this far. thanks for tanking my gpa. there's a reason he has 1 star

This guy only cared about how to fail us and how to accuse us of plagiarism. He doesn't care about helping you or helping fix any mistakes. His sole reason is to fail you and make money.
