Prof. Nicklas is a great guy, with TONS of experience. His tone can be abrupt at times, but he isn't irritated at you. He speaks in anthro terms, because that is part of the class. This is college. Come on, guys. He has GREAT stories, too. Easy A. Do the work, wash your hands after touching/passing around the artifacts, and RECORD the lectures. :)

Great professor!!! Really cares about his students and is very knowledgeable about archeology. 2 tests and 3 papers the entire semester.

I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt since it might have just been a covid semester failure. He seemed very forgetful and negligent. Everyone had a C before the final test... Only 3 grades and no way to keep up with grades because he was strictly using shared class files. I recommend recording his lectures.

Easily one of the best professors Ive ever had. This semester was a very rough one for me and he was more than understanding. He was so gracious and gladly provided extra credit! Shared his phone number with students and was always so helpful. He is very lecture heavy, but finds a way to make it fun! I highly recommend taking his class!

If you don't enjoy the subject, the lectures are boring and the written essays are annoying. But if you give it a chance and really engage with his lectures, you may be surprised at how much you learn - if there were any jobs left in academia, this class would have convinced me to pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology.

Heaviest lecture I've ever gotten in my college life. He only grades a few things. His tests are incredibly HARD. He gets easily irritable. Worse Professor I've had so far.

Very Kind and friendly Professor whos very passionate about the subject he teaches. Glad I got to have him as a professor during his last semester teaching. 5 Tests were the only grades, and you could generally look up the answers, but long responses were often required (sometimes pages). LECTURE HEAVY. Writing down everything he says will help.
