Extremely easy class. Funny guy, loves to tell stories. test really easy.

Mr. O'Boyle is one of the best teachers I've ever had! His teaching methods are not standard, but he makes learning fun. I would definitely take him again!

I took Mr. O'Boyle for Sociology 101 & Deviant Behavior. He makes it very easy to stay awake in class, one of my most favorite teachers EVER. But some advice, read if he tells you to. There's a small change there will be a quiz, but he will definately throw a few.

O'Boyle is awesome. He's one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. He doesn't screw around and he tells you like it is. Even if you're easily offended, you'll get over it. I would recommend this class to anyone. He does a great job of making the material interesting. I usually dread going to class but I anticipated this one. There are four test that are super straight forward. If you show up to class and do half the reading you can't fail. He's also willing to work with you and responds to email quickly. JL

Overall, he's the best. An absolutely amazing teacher and person. He cares about his students and their understanding of the world around them. His teaching is a little different but very effective and funny! You'll always leave his class with a smile and a new concept that will have you thinking. I had 2 courses with him and wish there were more!

Professor Steve is, by far, one of the best instructors I have had. He is humorous, engaging and really knows what he is talking about. This class is pretty easy to get an "A" in if you do the work, submit your assignments on time, and follow that rubric! Take professor Steve's class. You will not regret it.

He supplemented each lesson with videos, interesting readings, and guest "speakers" (it was an online class) from different departments at the school. He was incredibly responsive to emails and I thought gave excellent feedback on papers and assignments. I would love to have him again!

I took this class when I was a freshman at UNCG. I enjoyed his intro class because it made me think. The purpose of learning, to me, isn't just about what's in the book. It's about real life application and I think he talked about some very relevant topics. He was really cool and I thought he was an awesome teacher.

If you are one who loves clarity and straight to the point lectures, this course is not for you. mostly lecture pertains to outside living examples more so than the actual stuff on the test. Making sure to read on your own will save your grade, attendance is important in the end! Overall liked this course only because it was fun, but no guidance.

This dude is great. I never dread going to his class and I never zone out. The stuff he tells you is real and expands your thinking which is what school is all about anyways right?

This class changed my life. This is the number one class you should take as an incoming freshman. Although he gets really off topic he gives many life lessons and he is worth listening to. His tests are pretty easy, its hard to fail his class, just make sure you show up.

Professor O'Boyle is a great starter for all Freshman starting here at UNCG. Although it's a writing intensive course, and yes there will be papers, it's a great experience taking his class. Your able to improve your writing skills in this class while getting a good laugh! Don't skip this class, you will be missing out on a GREAT professor!

His lectures are inspirational and will help you see the world from a sociological perspective. He respects everyone's opinions and views on a wide range of topics. I wish there were more courses he taught because I would take them all. If it weren't for Steve, I would not have chosen sociology as a second major. He is the best professor I've had.

Doesn't go by the book. Usually rambles on in class but he is hilarious. For the exams just read the chapters and know the definitions. The paper is easy to fake and you don't have to put in a lot of effort in this class. Easy A.

Took during summer session. Do the reading! Class is interesting and material is easy to understand. Study well and you'll ace the exams (4 exams). User-friendly online website. 8 small essays, but they have clear grading criteria. Gives good feedback, made me a better writer. This class made me very interested in sociology, would recommend! I love this class! It is literally the hardest class that I have ever taken simply due to his tough grading and the vigorous amounts of reading, but but you can definitely tell that Mr. O'Boyle reads your work thoroughly and he provides amazing feedback. He also seems pretty funny and like he would be a good professor to take on campus.

This class was easily my favorite class out of my 3 years at UNCG because he covers topics that every college student should be aware of not just to be better students but to be better people. There is a lot of ignorance in the world and in American society and his class is a ground space to open up and try to understand each other's perspectives.

He's interesting. One of those teachers who actually believe in teaching authentic lessons rather than just shove info to you. That doesn't mean you can pass with no effort. Tests based on readings and his study guides which I highly suggest you do because he pus questions right from it. There's a very major paper that is a major part of the grade.

Hes really cool and honestly cares about all of his students. All he really asks is that you show up and listen to him. The tests come straight from the book so all you have to do is read the chapter or make flash cards or something and youll be fine. Theres one long paper but its a paper all about you so its not hard.

Professor OBoyle is the FUNNIEST professor you will ever get! He does attendance everyday, but theres only test and 1 Alter Ego Paper. The paper is really easy. It is a really easy class, his lectures are FUNNY! He talks about real incidents and hes just the coolest. I will recommend this professor 100 times if I could!

Super funny. Always off topic. Attendance is taken everyday. The tests are a little hard but the paper at the end of the course is super easy and makes up for the loss points. Cusses a lot and just has a good time. He told our class that he does not give A's so be aware.

Mr. O'Boyle was one of my fave professors during my first semester of college. His class was so much fun and his assignments were good opportunities to learn. Honestly if you fail, something is wrong. Just show up, discuss, complete the few assignments he gives and read when he asks (which he did maybe twice). Wish I could take it again.
