Good guy that seems to understand a lot of things. Good for people looking to pursue the overarching idea of a liberal education. Very much into design elements. No rhyme or reason to the way he grades on papers or essay questions.

This is probably my least favirote class. You don't even do anything art related, all he does is sit there and talk about lines and shading and cross hatching and more lines. It sucks!

Lectures are boring and attendence is required..., bring some head phones and read the book during class and you should pass with an easy A,the 2 page papers or the 4 page paper (your choice) are graded based on his opinion basically...

Very arrogant, sometimes too arrogant! Seems to have an attitude most of the time, -especially when no one participates - it's not that serious!!!! Projects are cool, but he expects a little much for ART 101! Very tuff on absences.

I LOVE this prof. He is so cool, relaxed, and the most outstanding prof I have met on campus. He is just an amazing person, especially in hia own art work, WOW! I wish I could have him again. He even makes lectures fun. Take him if you can and chat with him after class. A very intersting person. :)

Good gen ed to take, pretty easy to get a good grade. The lectures are extremely boring, but you can tell that he geniunely cares about the subject. I am not one for art, but he made the class okay. Skipped a lot and got a A.

Super nice guy. However, you are left to do a lot of things on your own. But he did start to give more imput as the semester went on. Just talk to him and he'll give you feedback. And he's sneaky, he'll pop up behind u, secretly critiqing your work, and momentary disappears from time to time.

Nice guy...Understands that things happen that are out of our control. Tests are kinda wierd at first but you get the hang of them...Plus he'll give you any resources he can to help you as well as give extra credit or make up tests if he thinks people may need it.

Loved the class, though it was difficult for me(you're awarded points based on how much you talk, and I'm pretty shy) I feel like having him hurt my grade, but I came out of the class with a lot more than I otherwise would have, so it's worth it.

if you show up and do the projects and talk maybe 3-4 times per class you'll probably end up with an A. its really just an effort thing here, i could really only blame myself for not getting a good grade when it was all over

I had Professor Peters for discussion section of ART 101. He always kept class discussion interesting. It is the easiest grade you will get in ART 101. All you have to do for an A is: show up each class, participate each class, and do a couple of power point presentations.

Overall great guy. Very helpful and easy going. A few very simple 20min projects, a 2 min power point, and make a couple comments per class will get you 100% guaranteed.

Peters was awesome! Although the class was based on a discussion and student presentations, he makes it interesting and some of his own work is great. Its a really simple class and he gives you plenty of opportunity to get points.

I really like Professor Peters. He really wants you to participate but doesn't make you if you don't want to. You are able to get points other ways than talking in class which is nice for people who are shy. Once you reach 200 points you have an A and you don't have to go anymore. Offers way more than 200 points too

I loved Mr. Peters. He is very helpful, I can tell that he doesn't like wooster and so i think he tries to make his class easier in order to balance the grade. His class is what art classes SHOULD be... talking, discussing, creating. I really enjoyed everything about my experience in his discussion section.

I loved him as my ART101 discussion professor! He really opens your mind to different types of art and gets you to really think. You just have to talk and say your opinion to get points. There are a few small projects but they are easy and fun. He knows what he is talking about and is an extremely nice man. Definitely take discussion with him!

I really enjoy class with Professor Peters. Each day, you watch videos on art or look at art/ect. Show up and talk twice in discussion, and you get full points for the day. There's a few art projects, but they're fun, and he understands that not everyone is an art major.

GREAT prof! Watch slideshows of art and discuss what you think of them afterword. Extremely easy A. Participate and do the projects that arn't hard at all and you will be living the dream. Enjoyed this class for a subject I could care less for.

VERY enjoyable class, every lecture was worth attending. Even after I got all the points I needed, I kept going anyway because it was so fun. Very engaging in discussion and open to questions and your own thoughts on stuff. Highly recommend him!

I had him for ART 101 discussion once a week. No internet at home so he never responds to emails. Pretty average, but gives you plenty of opportunities to boost your grade. Easy A

Easy, but boring. He talks a lot about himself and his own artwork. I went into this course loving art, and had taken all the art classes offered to me in high school. I could hardly keep my eyes open in lecture. He offers quizzes for extra credit in lecture. Easy class, but i hated it.I actually loathed it. It turned me off from art a little..

I really liked him as a person. He catches your interest, isn't too boring. The class is easy to go through. He gives you plenty of chances to boost your grade. And you only have to go to discussion until you reach 200 points. I recommend the class, but make sure you read the text book and take notes before class. He goes exactly through the book.

I would highly recommend this professor. He makes the course interesting and is very approachable with questions. Tests can be difficult but the class is not difficult to pass at all and he is really knowledgeable about the material.

Professor Peters is an amazing professor. The ideal thought of a great professor. He does everything in his power to help you and help your grade. The class itself is a little boring, but can be interesting at times. The exams a pretty difficult, dont let them take you by surprise. You cant blow them off. I would definitely recommend Prof. Peters!

You have to do a couple of art projects but they are really easy. You have to participate in discussion at least twice a class if you want to get points for that day. Once you have enough points in discussion you don't have to go anymore.

He is willing to do anything it takes for you to get an A. Assignments have no due dates as long as you do them eventually. You have to reach a certain number of points to get an A and he gives you way more than you need.

Discussion class is easy. Tests can be a bit difficult though. It's not extremely hard, but i found it a bit challenging for an intro class.

Pretty easy class. There were occasional quizzes and only 2 exams. You need to contribute and attend discussion to get points that go towards your grade. He assigns 4 minor art projects that don't have a due date and are impossible to do bad on. Majority of the class is spent organizing/presenting group presentations.

Very easy class, be sure to attend class he offers much extra credit. The first test is on book material but he goes over it in class, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK. Make sure you study the practice quizes he posts online that's what the final is on

Very easy prof, offers a ton of extra credit so make sure you go to class. To get full points make two comments each discussion, you get full credit for just doing the projects as well. There are two test, the midterm and the final, the midterm is on lecture notes and the book, and was actually difficult. Overall a very easy class.

Best way and easiest way to pass his class is to just come to class and type everything he says on your laptop. All the tests are online so "ctrl + F" to find your answers in your notes and you're golden on all the tests. In discussion say 2 things per class and you will get an A in discussion.

Easy going guy but online tests are ridiculously hard. They are all based off of the book and are super difficult to find the answer. Lecture notes are exactly the answers on the tests. Gives extra credit so it will somewhat help your grade.

Online tests were ridiculously hard, need to type a transcript of the lectures to know the answers, but that won't guarantee you much. If you're looking for an easy gen ed, don't take him, it's just an annoying class that you'll regret taking.

Great guy! I'm not sure if teaching is his thing though. He knows a lot, but some people are not meant to teach. Lecture was boring but the classroom part was kind of fun! You pretty much got to chose what you wanted for the art portion of the class.

Peters is a cool guy, he is really laidback and knowledgeable. It seemed a lot of students took advantage of him because there are little to no restrictions on the assignment so they turned in stuff that wouldnâ??t be acceptable in most middle school art classes. Donâ??t punish a cool teacher for being cool. Talk to him and you can learn a lot.

For a Gen Ed class it was super hard and obnoxious. Online tests were ridiculous and you literally need to take the best notes of your life to get about a C on the online tests. For a discussion teacher though he's pretty cool. ALl you do is make 4 projects and talk about whatever the topic is that day and you get all your points.

Professor Peters is a totally cool prof, but he's really not clear at all about what's going to be on the exams. The thing is though, that even getting B's-C's on every exam won't keep you from getting an A or A- in the class. In discussion he is awesome. Overall, great guy, and really funny. Take him!

I love art and have passed three of the foundations classes. This course however was one of the hardest art classes I have taken. The quizzes and tests are worded in a tricky way (such as misspelling the answers). Although I received a B+ I think this was a tough class and you really have to read the book.

Nice guy. Doesn't care about attendance but it helps to show up. The class is super easy and the exams are a lot harder than you would think from attending class. Make sure you read, have the book and take notes/pay attention in lecture because he puts questions directly relating to lecture. I'd say take this if you can!

READ THE BOOK. The tests are super confusing. Failed every single one and still got a 103 percent in the class. Great guy. No need to go to lecture, but he makes them interesting. Loved him. The last lecture is so inspiring. Great guy

He was a pretty good teacher. I had to take this class to get my art credit out of the way and i definitely suggest him! The exams are very hard. I got a D on all of them and still got an A for the class. Make sure you go to discussion and participate! That's how i got my A.

This is a very easy Gen. Ed. class. The professor makes it harder than it should be but all the online quizzes are extra credit so in the end no matter how bad you do, you get an A. Also, discussion class you HAVE to talk in or you dont get points. Art projects are somewhat stressful but overall easy class.

I am terrible at art, but received over 100% in the class. Going to discussion is mandatory to pass the class. There are 3 projects to do, not graded on artistic ability, only if you understood the concept. Only a midterm and final exam, both online. They are pretty hard but based completely off of lecture notes - which you can use since its online

This class is an easy A for anyone who needs to satisfy a gen-ed credit. He gives so much extra credit that you can easily get over 100%. He is an interesting guy too but sometimes confusing with directions, overall its a good class.

It was an easy A with a lot of extra credit, but there are too many projects for a gen ed and it is a very boring class. Also, his directions are unclear. In discussion class YOU MUST TALK! That could make or break your grade. Personally I would never take this class if I could do it over, but he is definitely the easier teacher of them all.

Peters is slightly evil. The entire semester he will have you believing you're doing great, I even went into the final with a 99.87% and somehow ended up with an A-. He never tells you what he wants so when it comes to projects you just have to guess and hope for the best. Good luck, but I strongly disliked the man and I like most of my professors

This class was horrible. Peters intended the students to basically memorize every sentence in the book for the tests, there were many projects that were very time consuming with no rubric, and he also gave no study guide for tests so you had no idea what you were studying so you had to study everything and still didn't know it all. DONT TAKE IT!

Extremely boring lectures that aren't worth coming to. Tests that ask questions on something that is found in one sentence in one section of the chapter. Discussion is annoying because you must make 2 elaborate comments to earn your points for the day and with 30 people it gets boring. Doesn't explain projects well either and gives no rubrics.

Awful class. Tests were the hardest test I've ever taken because he won't tell you what they will be on. Discussion is pretty easy, projects took me about 30 minutes a piece and he grades those easy. I wouldn't take this class because of the tests.

Professor Peters is a very nice guy. Lectures can be interesting but usually are not. The discussions are really helpful especially with the overall grade. I heard the fall classes are easier than his winter ones. Testes are almost impossible. Overall not a terrible class.

Okay professor, but the tests are extremely hard. Plan on participating in lecture because if you don't then you will have a higher chance of getting a bad grade, even if you do fine on the tests. I recommend if you are just taking this class just to fulfill a gen ed, DON'T. Take something easier like MUS 101

His exams are impossible. Even though they are online and even if you go to ever lecture you'll be lucky to pass with a B. The assignments themselves are not that hard and they were enjoyable. I would have liked this class if he would have made the tests easier. He no longer gives extra credit either. Older posts are outdated and he has changed.

This class was annoying because the first few tests are hard and then they randomly get super easy (as long as you can look up the answers on quizlet). Since the tests are all online you can use the Ctrl-F function and look up the exact questions on quizlet and you should be good. Go to lecture and write down specifics bc they WILL be on the test.

Everyone complains about ART 101 but Peters makes passing possible! All exams are online but you MUST go to lecture because this is where most of the exam questions come from and also how you will know when the exams are. Only 3 projects and he is an easy grader. Make sure you read the book! The tests will be much easier this way. Final optional!

Go to your lectures, he gives good hints on the exams. You dont have to take a final if you have a good grade, which if you put any effort into, you can do it. He was a good teacher.

Peters lessons weren't synonymous with what other ART101 classes were learning. He went off on tangents about his own art creations and random people in the art industry. He expects you to know minute details and his tests are pretty hard. Do the projects!

Not the best professor, but not the worst. I was afraid to ask questions because he's very rude when answering them. The tests were 70% fill in the blank which made them difficult, but as long as you go to every class you should be fine. Discussion is an easy 200 points too.

The exams were very hard, even with studying. I was doing very poorly in the class until the end. He's a great guy, but his lectures are long and sometimes hard to focus in. However, I ended up doing well in the class even though I had a C the whole semester. YOU MUST GO TO DISCUSSION AND PARTICIPATE.

if you don't really like art take him. He understands students don't always love art. Lectures are long but he shows a lot of interesting pictures. Only two tests and a final that was really easy. the discussion section has 4 actual art projects but they aren't hard and don't take long. grades pretty easy. take him.

No book! XD You do need to go to class and take notes for the tests, they were online so google helped sometimes but overall the tests were straight from the notes! He made class very interesting and actually got everyone engaged and talking with each other. Serious with deadlines but he realizes we are all humans who forget about things sometimes.

Peters is a great guy. Discussions are easy points and lectures if you go and don't skip you'll get 90's or higher on all exams! Gives extra credit on days with low attendance which is always nice. Good teacher! NO TEXT BOOK REQUIRED.

Wow the tests were SUPER hard. If you don't copy every word he says in lecture, then you're definitely going to miss something on the test. He does provide easy points during discussion/lab so that was helpful. He is a nice guy, but those tests were at times very ridiculous.

LOVED him for ART101. Super easy and tests are straight forward from the notes. Attendance is mandatory but if you miss a few times it won't kill your grade.

Prof Peters is a great guy. There are 2 exams. I would guess the class average was a 75%. Don't worry. The exams are not worth much. Projects are worth way more. If you put in the effort, he will see that. Awesome class. Not much homework besides a few projects which took an hour or 2. TAKE HIM!!

Interesting lectures, but if you don't write everything down you will struggle on the tests. Takes attendance every day and participation points. Projects are pretty easy. Would definitely like the class more if his exams weren't so complicated.

Great prof and class. Was fairly easy as long as you listen. Gives tons of extra credit just for talking during discussion time. Tests are hard if you don't write the lectures word for word, but they don't really effect your grade. Projects are fun.

His lectures are kinda boring in the beginning but then you start doing in class projects. He doesn't use the book at all so don't buy it. It's easy to get an A if u show upicipate. There isn't any tests. Gives online quizzes (5 quest.) related to lecture. U give 1 presentation & the final is an in class paper about stuff said in the lectures.

Absolutely the worst class I have had to take. If you hate presentations, dont take this class. As of now, at least 4 presentations have to be given, including the final project. The online quizzes are unnecessarily tricky due to their wording.

I am currently a master student in engineering and need a few more gen Eds. I was thinking art 101 would be an easy A. Well think again with this professor. He gives quizzes on material not even covered in class and will mark you down with no explanation to why. If he likes you, you will get an A but dont count on it.

Not an art major so I found the lectures extremely boring. The class isn't overly difficult as long as you don't mind presenting because that's is pretty much all your grade along with participation. If you put in a little effort you should do fine.

I am very disappointed in the way this professor carries himself. I tried to email him to confirm the homework assignment and was given a few very rude responses. Would not suggest taking this class with this professor.

A lot of presentations and brain teaser activities. Doesn't make you learn art history as much as techniques and modern artists which was nice. Had great stories but wanted to let you know he was smarter than you and was really sarcastic. Tried to motivate kids to be unique by conforming to be outgoing. Let you out early but some art projects.

He's rude and no matter your question his response is ALWAYS go back to the syllabus, which I promise you doesn't always have the answers. Also if you don't write down the lectures word for word your screwed and will barely pass the quizzes. And the online textbook due dates are confusing and quiz questions related are hard never got them correct.

He is an extremely rude professor and person. You get to miss 3 total days but if you don't show up you get a zero on whatever they do in class. The quizzes are not helpful and worded so weirdly. So many presentations that he grades strictly. You have to talk in class to get any points for the day.

Prof. Peters is an amazing professor. Highly recommend him. I find him to be funny. The projects done in class is a good ice breaker for the class to get to know each other. As long as you do the work given to you in class and follow the guidelines, you are golden. He will not post the homework on BB, so show up to get it. Participation is Ex Cred.

Prof Peters is an opinionated person. If you are strong headed don't take it. Projects are graded very lightly, but online blackboard quizzes are ridiculously hard. He grades you off of each other for a few in class projects, but his class is an easy A if you do the work. You get 5/5 points for just attending. You get extra credit when you talk.

he means well but often comes off as rude, only gives project information in class and it is completely verbal and said once. He uses his own book which you only need to answer the quiz questions that go with it but the quiz is horribly worded and does not at all what so ever correlate to the quiz. honestly i began to hate this guy by the end

I took introduction to art because it is a gen-ed and the class is not hard. But for a 100 level class and it being art there is so much work outside of class it is ridiculous. I had to do more for this class than any other class I took. I HIGHLY recommend taking a different class other than this one.

The quizzes he assigns are near impassable unless you have time to watch several hours of videos before hand. They have seemingly no correlation the content learned in class and are incredibly poorly worded and optimized. I would highly recommend not taking this class, or any of his classes.

I took art 101 to fill one of my gen eds and I definitely recommend taking any other course. The class is very boring and the quizzes that you are required to take through the textbook take a few hours to complete just ONE (if you want a good grade) Overall, I didnt like this class very much & would not take it again.

This class was a lot more work then I thought it should have been. You lose points if you din't go to class, but you get extra credit every time you talk. There are a lot of silly in class challenges that have no point and the online quizzes are really hard and nothing that we go over. There are no tests, but the final is a 12 min presentation.

This prof is definitely very knowledgeable about what he is teaching, and I found the book interesting but none of the assignments are really clear-he makes them vague to leave room for imagination but I didn't like that. Online quizzes took HOURS. 3/4 in-class activities which are kinda challenging. Participate and do what he says & you'll be fine

Professor Peters is an overall good person. There are a lot of quizzes due and each one takes roughly 2 hours so a lot of time is spent outside of class doing them. Additionally, there are a lot of out of class projects that take 3+ hours to complete. Easy material but overall it's very time consuming. A lot of presentations so don't take if shy.

I am not an Art major, but Professor Peters is a very nice person. I took his class from 11-1:50 on Friday's (bad choice I know) but he did let us out early. He is very passionate about art, which is nice, but he did come off rude at times. He requires quizzes that are challenging (online), but just control F everything and you'll find the answers

As anyone else who would take this class, I was taking it to fulfill my Art gen ed. I honestly don't mind art, so I thought this class would be a nice break from the rest of my classes, but wow was I wrong. This class is SO time consuming. You have a ton of quizzes that take hours to complete, and they are pointless to your knowledge. Barely do art

Lots of extra credit opportunities if you just talk. 9 chapters in book, quiz after each one (hard) he made the book, cant look up answers. If youre good at making stuff up on the spot, youll be fine. Dont take if shy. Can be rude. So much work for a 100 level class. Didnt learn anything. He uses zoom. Lenient if youre having troubles.

In my opinion a terrible teacher. Expects everyone to like art as it was there major while in class, as well as has online mandatory quizzes that are almost impossible to pass unless you have a couple hours to watch videos about things you haven't been talking about for no reason. In the end lost some of my respect for teachers because him.

Prof Peters was one of the best profs ive ever had, he does give harsh feedback and if you are not into art or an art major you probably wont like him. The quizzes and tests are super easy every answer is in the book, go to his office hours for even something stupid and hell probably be nicer to you.

I would NOT take this class again. If you do the work you will be fine, however, the class projects, readings, and quizzes can take up A LOT of time outside of class. Don't take this class if you're shy, you're constantly giving presentations. He only gives instructions for certain projects orally and will not post them on blackboard.

For an art class there's a lot of work, with 9 total quizzes, and like 4 presentations (final being 8 min). Peters is a nice guy, letting us out early some days and sometimes even having somewhat fun activities to do during class. Overall, eh class, just don't take if you're shy like me, it was brutal.

This was an okay class. For a 101 class, there are numerous amounts of work to do including group activities, and constant presentations (which the last one has to be 8-10 minutes long). The only pro thing is that you get extra credit for speaking up during discussions. I had to email him a couple of times and he never got back to me.

Professor Peters was an overall chill guy, he does his grading off of points which is nice, this allows an A to be very attainable if you do all the projects and quizzes. He grew on me throughout the semester and although there was a decent amount of work and the lectures could be boring and long sometimes, he was a good professor overall.

The lectures in his class were extremely boring. He doesn't listen very well when you have a concern and talked about his past trauma a lot which was odd. He didn't explain the grading structure very well while he also has the mindset of "I'm always right".

Quizzes weekly that take up to an hour to complete, presentations that he grades pretty roughly, and basically no art. The book is 99 dollars and its mandatory to answer any questions of the quizzes, best part is... he's the author of the book so basically ur pocketing this guy 100 bucks. Doesn't care about his students whatsoever. Don't Take!

While I enjoyed this class and the professors, many don't like the way he is. He is pretty stern and has a monotone voice. He is super sweet and has very straightforward guidelines. I do recommend the class, but for me, his teaching style wasn't my favorite.

Gives out lots of projects with presentations. Makes people feel uncomfortable while presenting (essentially makes fun of people). Requires you to buy the textbook to take quizzes but the textbook is his own so he pockets the money. Unless you're confident + interested in art, don't take the class.

Do not take this class. 6 presentations, 1 10minute long. Projects take forever and he's such a harsh market its so hard to get full marks. Will not contact online and doesn't submit all project requirements online. Required to buy the text book (his own book so he pockets the money) in order to complete the 9 quizzes.

He will not give any guidelines for your projects. He also will not be accessible and will be upset with you if you bring up in class that you emailed him and he didn't respond. He will gaslight you. You also have to buy his textbook that he wrote for $100.

I rarely write reviews on here but do not take this class. his book is 100$ and it has multiple typos and youtube links. the quizzes at the end of each chapter are time consuming and confusing. he does little to clarify expectations and will not give full credit for anything. I repeat, do not take this class!

His book that he wrote is mandatory and costs $100. He would not let me take the two quizzes I missed when I was not enrolled in the class yet and my grade suffered severely from it. The class is lecture heavy and the only art you do is outside of the classroom. Don't take his class unless you want a racist and rude old man as your professor.

The class was pretty tough, with strict grading and a mandatory textbook by the professor. However, the projects were engaging, and Unstuckstudy proved helpful for prep. Overall, the class is manageable if you stay on top of the work.
