Very fun professor who keeps the class interesting. He teached from a powerpoint so we havent used the book at all!

This class was extremely interesting. Prof. Stallings knows what he is talking about and he teaches it by connecting it to real life situations. He is not afraid to teach the truth and will express himself through his teachings. This class is really fun but there's no way to take advantage of him. He will give you the grade you deserve.

I took the Express Wknd Class. He made it fun & interesting. He is well educated in psychology and has great stories! You HAVE to attend class & take notes to pass. He gives all homework on the 1st day so you can work at your own pace. Tests are every Sunday & he does a review before the test. He gets that people work too & homework is manageable.

He's super far left wing so all his examples in class are always super liberal, but besides that he's pretty solid .

I was was so excited the first couple of days in class then towards the middle and end I just hated the class. I don't like the way the class is taught, I did not learn anything because he didn't teach much. You had to teach yourself through the quizzes he had online and the book. The group project was awful, and not fair grading at all.

Professor Stallings was intimidating at first but I soon grew to love his class. He explains all assignments clearly and they are not at all difficult. There were 3 tests and we were required to write only one paper. Just make sure you take good notes! Also, it's possible to earn up to 100 extra credit points in his class.

I took his class online. This was my first class to take online and it was really easy! The class is composed of quizzes, 2 discussions, a few essays and exams (that are based off the quizzes). They are all very simple. As long as you do everything on time you can make an A! No need for the textbook.

You don't need a textbook for this class. He involves everybody in the lectures. Open to questions, however, if its a stupid question, be prepared to get a stupid answer. great teacher. Most of the grading for outside work is just completion but they are long assignments.

Although attendance is not mandatory you still have to go to class because he gives notes verbally. Has funny stories that explains the material. Is also a huge liberal his views are interesting though even if you don't agree. As for his tests just take good notes and use his ppts as reference and you should be good. Overall I recommend.

Took this class for a 5 week summer semester. Super easy! There are easy quizzes with each chapter, about 4 essays, 2 discussions, and 4 exams (questions from the quizzes are on the exams). I took his class in the Wintermester. His exams are multiple choice and are over his lectures he has in class. His quizzes are over the respective chapters the class goes over. He has a little extra credit. If my major allowed it I would take this professor again. He does not accept late work not even if it is a second late however.

All of his test questions come from what he says out loud during lecture. HINT he usually pauses a little bit to give time to write the important things, and says to "star" other parts. He grades quickly and you know where you stand in the class. Lectures are fun. Gave some interesting information on other personal topics, like homosexuality.

I normally don't mind giving speeches but 20-30 minutes per person on a chapter presentation is too much. Also I signed up for Human Sexuality not debate team. We had to do a pretty long intense debate. I wouldn't suggest.

Stallings really makes the class engaging and interesting. He is not like most professors where they just read off of a screen for notes, but he includes personal stories and examples to help the students really understand what he is talking about. As long as you do your work and turn it in, you'll get a good grade in the class.

He's very intimidating, and can be very short. The truth is you have to get to know him on a personal level before he warms up to you. He's strict but fair. His tests are not overly hard, it's all in the wording so read carefully. Essay and assignments are easy. Everything online is open access so get it done ASAP. He's scary--but still human.

H kind of gives a background on what to study and all his tests are multiple choice. f you study his notes you'll do fine. Also, I bought the textbook, but i never used it.

He seems a little intimidating at first, but he warms up. I think most of the people on here talking bad about him probably didn't do their work on time, but that's just my guess.

I was struggling in Professor Stallings' class due to some medical issues. He worked with me to make sure that I could get all assignments completed. When I was in class, we had a pretty good time as he makes the classroom a fun place to be. I strongly recommend him!

Good prof! He made class entertaining and that made things easier to remember. Is available outside class if you need help. If you've got to take a PSYC class, this is a good choice!

I had heard both negative and positive things about this guy, but I decided to take the class anyway. I'm really glad I did. It was a fun class and he kept us engaged with stories and humor. He expects you to show up on time and turn in work on time. If you can do that, you'll really enjoy the class!

His lectures are very interesting and his quizzes and tests are very easy--if you read your textbook and take good notes! I also really enjoyed the discussion boards and papers he assigned! Professor Stallings was amazing throughout the whole semester. He was always fair and was always very clear on instructions. If you do the reading, youll have no problem passing! His exams were easy if you put in the work! I would definitely take his class again.

Strict on Tardiness. I was very engaged and lectures were enjoyable. Easy Grader. Slides focus very heavily on the answers, so as long as you pay attention you'll get a majority of things right. Things were organized and mapped out well. It was advised to print out presentation slides before class, but it made it easier to take notes.

Professor Stallings has engaging lectures and a great sense of humor. There are plenty of easy projects to help boost grades, and quizzes to help cram for exam materials. He always reminds students of when they are due. Exams are mostly on information covered during lecture so attendance is important.

Professor Stallings doesnt deserve the bad rep. If you go in ready to learn and organize yourself to do your work on time, then youre basically acing his class. Hes funny and open to discussion. Late policy is stiff but cmon its not that hard to be on time, were all adults. I think you just need to come to class with the right attitude :)

I took his online class which was not difficult at all, be prepared to write, if your good at essays then you should have no problems, the prompts are very self explanatory for the assignments just do not plagiarize. Get the book because you will need it for the assignments and the test are not tough if your a good note taker, good luck and enjoy!

I absolutely loved this class. Fun and funny. I already took AP Psych in high school so it was like a review, but you literally just print the power points for notes and show up to the class and take notes. It's not that hard. And to the ones who disagree- get a grip because you have other things to worry about than another man's religious beliefs.

Professor Stallings has been possibly one of my favorite teachers Ive ever had. I had him for general psych and he did a fantastic job bringing the material to life with his own experiences and stories. As long as you come to class prepared and on time youll be good to go. If I could take his class again I would in a heartbeat.

I had Professor Stallings in the Fall of 2022. I wasn't particularly excited to be taking a Psychology class, but he made the material really interesting. He created an atmosphere where students felt safe asking questions and the time just seemed to fly by. Be sure to attend class and take notes. I recommend Professor Stallings to everyone!

Great class! Professor Stallings uses real life examples that make the concepts easier to understand and remember. Lectures were fun and engaging and he's sometimes funny. He uses a bit of sarcasm, but never in a way intended to offend or insult anyone. I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone.

I took PSYC 2314. The class itself seemed easy however taking it in the wintermester I wouldn't have expected there to be 8 full papers. If you have a FT job or anything similar you'd have to dedicate a lot of time to this course while balancing that. It was complicated for me but I'm sure very doable for a FT student.

Mr. Stallings was exceptionally great at teaching. His lectures were very thorough and thought provoking. I'm surprised to see that some students didn't like him sharing his personal stories but he always did that in the context of the subject on hand to better explain through real life examples. I truly appreciated his teaching style.

Professor Stallings' lectures were engaging, though he sometimes shared personal anecdotes. The class was manageable with the textbook and regular attendance. To prepare, I found unstuck study and the class notes very helpful.

Don't mind the comments others have said about this professor. He can be a bit harsh with his students, but he has openly acknowledged an attempt to work on this. A very respectable teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory but you'll get extra credit for being present in some cases. Very enlightening class, enjoyed the personal anecdotes he shared.

Dr. Stallings makes his lectures very engaging through a combination of personal anecdotes, humor, and general kindness. To a degree, I am saddened his class is over, primarily due to how joyful his class is in nature. All his assignments are on Canvas and are meant to be done on your own time before due dates.

I think there are some days where he is caring, and then other days where he gets extremely frustrated by his students. But to be fair, they don't attend classes and then when they finally come back to class after years of being gone, they have a thousand and one questions. So he is rude at times. The class was easy though if you balance work well

I don't understand the bad reviews on here honestly, because he's one of the best professors I've had, hands down! He was extremely kind and caring about students, an easy grader, has really fun lectures and he's really funny. He's also very chill too, and is understanding about everything. I highly recommend taking him for psychology.

Mr. Stallings is a caring man but sometimes can be rough around the edges. He does mean well and wants his students to succeed. Do the work, show up to class, and you will be fine. He is also funny!

The class lectures are primarily focused around powerpoints over each unit, and he goes beyond what is written on the slides. Because of this, I'd say it's incredibly important to stay engaged during lectures. Only 3 exams and they're all in person. and there are all easy if you take the time to study and look over the textbook. Amazing professor!

The hardest assignment is the group debate. You cannot stutter or he will deduct a few points. He goes through the slides really fast, but he does post them. You do need the textbook. Get an online version if you can, that way you can search through it when taking exams/ quizzes (they are open note). He is a touch judgy, but understanding.
